open to: ladieees connection: y/m (perhaps an english noblewoman, promised to a british officer, but despises the crown’s rule and has tried to escape, or utp) is cornered against the moss-covered wall of an abandoned cottage by a british officer, adorned in the red coat of the crown. kieran has been travelling the country with some warriors from his clan to further secure alliances and stumbles upon this scene. kieran & the british officer have history together, and kieran steps in, invoking what little influence he has left as a clan leader and highlander to save y/m. muse: kieran fraser ; 25+ yrs old ; clan leader ; bio
The mist clung to the Highland moors like a shroud, dampening the sounds of the land and casting the world in a muted haze of grey and green. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and heather, a stark contrast to the cold steel glinting in the hand of the British officer standing before the woman. Kieran Fraser pulled his stallion to a sharp halt, his keen gaze taking in the scene before him. The woman—English by the cut of her dress, but with a fire in her eyes that spoke of defiance—was backed against the moss-laden stones of the abandoned cottage, her breath coming in shallow pants. The officer, clad in the hated red of the Crown, had drawn his sword, his stance radiating the arrogance of one who believed himself untouchable. A slow, knowing smirk curved Kieran’s lips as he swung down from his horse, boots landing solidly on the damp ground. "Well now, Lieutenant Harrington," he drawled, voice rich with the lilt of the Highlands. "It seems ye’ve a talent for cornering those who cannae fight back. Tell me, do ye find it sport, harassing a lone woman on Highland soil?" The officer’s face twisted into a scowl at the sound of Kieran’s voice. "Fraser," he spat, shifting slightly, though his sword did not lower. "I should have known I’d find you slinking about in the shadows, clinging to the scraps of your once-great clan." Kieran merely laughed, the sound as sharp as the Highland wind. "Och, ye wound me, truly. And here I thought our last meeting ended on… cordial terms." His eyes flickered toward the woman, his expression softening only slightly. "But let’s speak plainly. I’ll be takin’ the lass with me." Harrington’s grip on his sword tightened. "She belongs to the Crown." His eyes glinted with triumph. "She is betrothed to an officer in His Majesty’s army, and she—"
"She," Kieran interrupted smoothly, stepping closer, "looks as though she’d rather take her chances with the wolves than return to yer fine gentlemen of the Crown." His hand dropped to the hilt of his own sword, though he did not yet draw it. "Now, ye ken me well enough to know I dinnae walk away from a fight. But I’ll give ye this one chance, Harrington. Leave, and I won’t spill yer blood on these hills." Finally, Harrington scoffed and took a step back, though his eyes burned with resentment. "You overstep, Fraser," he bit out. "And one day, your insolence will be your undoing." Kieran grinned, entirely unbothered. "Aye, mayhap. But that day is not today." Harrington hesitated a moment longer before spitting onto the ground at Kieran’s feet and turning on his heel, striding back toward his waiting horse. Only when the officer had disappeared beyond the mist did Kieran exhale, rolling his shoulders before turning his gaze on the woman. "Well then, lass," he said, tilting his head. "Care to tell me what a fine lady is doin’ so far from her fine comforts, with naught but a bastard in red for company?"

category 10 Ghost Stan who is murdered by Rico and folks who work for him just a little while after chewing his way out of the trunk of that car. body is hidden in the floorboards of an abandoned house and never found, so the only reason anyone has to believe that something happened to him is that he stopped his monthly calls to his mom, but even then she ends up assuming he decided to move on from his family. (
At some point Ford is notified of an extremely haunted house in some other state and decides to go down there (maybe with fiddleford) to see if he can study and hopefully exorcise the spirit.
It an incredibly unpleasant surprise when the mangled form of his twin brother, the face that used to be almost the same as his now ripped and rotting with lifeless, sunken in eyes that used to always have that glint of mischief in them, but now all they had was pure, raw anger.
idk where to go from here with this but man this idea has been refusing to leave my head

Pac: I'm not going to say anything to you guys [Chat], I'm not going to say anything to you. I'm not saying absolutely anything, I'm not going to comment. Man, you broke me here, you broke me in 3 parts! I'm not going to- no no no no no, I won't fall for your game, I won't fall for your game.*
Pac's chat allows viewers to make music requests, which led to this very well-timed moment today where Careless Whisper started playing as soon as Pac met back up with Fit.

there are many retellings & adaptional choices i really don't like when it comes to writing new stories about old myths, and that i feel are boring or ignoring interesting points & implications or unfamiliar with the topic or ancient cultural context in a way that rubs me the wrong way. BUT the way some people on here talk about myth retellings as if retelling them is in and of itself a bad thing, or that retellings are somehow 'staining' the 'meaning' of the 'original myth', and Particularly posts that just seem to be hating on the people writing these books not for any real constructive point but just because they think Change Is Bad is going to make me feel bonkers insane fr. come on guys

Minor major thoughts on Part III of The Bear
I’m not sure if this has been said and honestly we’ve all had so many feelings coming out of this season it’s hard for me to wade through it all right now. So if you’ve said something similar just let me know so I can link back to it.
I have this really small or really big theory. It’s quite simple and I’m not a gif maker so if you are and can illustrate with gifs that would be perfect.
To me and to most of us I’m sure it’s clear that Carmy is still mentally stuck in the fridge this entire season. Even from the initial teaser, he’s alone in the restaurant and everything is blue. He’s stuck. I think we all understand that.
My theory has to do with Claire as the personification of that freezer. When Carmy met Claire it was in the refrigerated section of that store. I was triggered by this meta which includes a clip of a podcast where Chris explains how that motif of the fridge is reoccurring and going to continue to be thorough out.
Ok so Carmy meets Claire at the fridge. Once he’s with her that’s when he starts fucking off with everything around him. They have sex, it’s blue lighting (the fridge). He goes to a party with her, he’s not even himself (a mental fridge). Then he gets physically locked in the fridge because she called and distracted him when he was about to call to get it fixed.
Then we get to s3. Almost all of the Claire flashbacks are in blue lighting (the fridge). He even goes inside of the fridge to find enough will power to call her but he can’t do it because he’s stuck. He’s frozen in a Claire shaped prison. Until he breaks free of Claire, which is also the personification of his past and familial expectations. He’s not going to be free to see the fire in his life. That’s Sydney. He can’t cook without the heat. He thinks he can but he can’t. All he’s doing is illustrating/sketching but the results are not working because he’s still frozen.
To get out of the fridge he has to get out of the prison that is his familial expectations of Claire being his peace. When really she is his version of hell.

hopping up on my special interest soap box to say: i think we as a fandom should discuss the satire in danganronpa V3 more.
idk if it is just me but i have always viewed this game as a satire, if only just because of the ending. it exagerrates the formula set up by the previous games to criticize the current state of media and media consumption. i know a lot of people in the fandom don't like V3, and i think that is by design. it is ridiculous, it is over the top, the ending is a punch to the face, but it's all on purpose. you're supposed to be uncomfortable because it is a satire. (of course you don't have to like the game, i just think it is intentionally like that)
the whole theme of fiction vs reality is put in there intentionally to make fun of the fandomization of danganronpa, as well as to poke at game studios and companies that put out media in general. tsumugi, in my interpretation, is representative of danganronpa fans (hence why she's the ultimate cosplayer). she is the mastermind. you aren't supposed to like her. her insistence on the idea that "fiction doesn't affect reality" is a direct criticism of that exact idea in real life fandom. the idea that this is the "53rd" danganronpa is directly making fun of other pieces of media "jumping the shark" because fans insist upon it. this is not to say you can't like tsumugi, i think you absolutely can, i just think her character represents some key ideas relating to the satire of the game.
this is why everything in the game is SO over the top. kirumi being the prime minister, korekiyo both having DID AND being a serial killer in a reference to the first game, EVERYONE'S over the top backstories (gonta and keebo come to mind), it's all acting as an exaggeration of common tropes (albeit highly problematic in several areas, not trying to excuse those aspects by any means).
and then there's kaede. they set her up as a strong female protagonist, only to kill her chapter 1 to be replaced by a male protag. on paper this is very misogynistic, but in the context of satire it is an exaggeration of the danganronpa formula. of course we couldn't have a female protag in a main line game, of course it would have to be a man. shuichi having a secret ahoge only adds to this; it's making fun of the trope. the best part is that i truly do love both of these characters, and their role in the satire doesn't diminish the excellent writing that went into them and the story.
this entirely shapes how i view this game. it manages to tell an incredibly compelling story with very complex characters while making fun of itself at the same time (as a good satire should). i know a lot of people have said they feel like the writers of v3 must have hated danganronpa, and while i see exactly what they mean i don't think that's necessarily true. i think it was an intentional choice as a work of satire.
i can see an intense love behind the writing of this game. the characters are rich and the story is compelling. the ending just serves to send home the point they wanted to make. i think it adds a really beautiful perspective to the danganronpa series as a whole.
