3. What’s your favorite emotion to write?

ok so like how insane do i sound if i say just like. emotional breakdowns. panic. because theres something so cathartic to me about writing just...stream of consciousness runons about someone absolutely Losing It that i cannot get elsewhere. but OTHER than that probably like...distant fondness or affection? like when you look at someone and you just feel yourself melt a little because you like them so much. thats a lot of fun

4. What kind of endings do you prefer?

i like writing endings that leave some amount of room for elaboration or interpretation (mostly in case i want to revisit a fic or story and write more related to it tbh) but typically im a sucker for a happy ending, or relatively happy. as much as i enjoy putting my guys through the ringer i usually like to let them out of it at the end with a mostly positive situation lol

10. Show a piece from your current WIP/most recent story, up to 30 words.

i havent written any fic in quite a while (something i tbh DESPERATELY wanna get back to, the ideas just aint flowing) but ive been working on a LOT of personal writing!!!

the story im writing right now is told from the perspective of a sword, and the swords got shit goin on that i wont explain rn (if any of yall wanna hear it just lmk ive got all the details in me brain) but here's a bit i wrote today:

She was bright as a star, the most of my home I had ever seen. After all, the void does not have eyes until it is torn from itself.

Some commentary on the S4 Episode of OUAT -- The Apprentice . . . .

I wanted to unpack this episode, and my feelings about it, to accompany @sieben9’s watching of it, and thought this would be better than reblogging their post.  They know that I’m posting this, and are aware that it will be snarky, bitchy, and negative, so please don’t go pestering their inbox with “oh don’t listen to that bitch, she’s a bitch” because A) they KNOW THIS already (it’s not a fact I’ve hidden from ANYONE) and B) again – they know I’m making this post instead of reblogging theirs and that it’s not going to be all glee and squee.  

This episode is one I have never revisited.  (To be fair, I’ve not revisited MOST of the episodes from S4 on.)  But this one is forever seared onto my brain.  This is a LONG POST so under the cut . . . . .

 This episode was a turning point for me for 4 reasons:

 1)      I got a CLEAR PICTURE of what trajectory Rumbelle was on (as a pairing AND as individual characters) and I wasn’t happy

2)      I got a CLEAR PICTURE of the Hook trajectory and again – I wasn’t happy

3)      What VERY LITTLE remaining respect and/or admiration I retained for Adam and Eddy (which was not much at this point) VANISHED after this episode aired

4)      This episode forever changed the fandom dynamic for me

Now . . . . . let’s unpack this and start with #1 . . . . Rumbelle.

Rumbelle had just gotten married, and up until this point, aside from E1 with the dance (which to ME, although it was lovely and wonderful, also screamed “HEY!!!! FROZEN FANS JUST NOW WATCHING!  LOOK! IT’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!  YOU KNOW THEM!!!!”), we’ve gotten pretty much NOTHING for them.  So . . . . . . . let’s chat about the dock scene.

And look at that – not even cleaned up.  Which tells me that A&E decided to CUT THIS SCENE – this 37 second scene that they could NOT SPARE 37 SECONDS FOR – before they even started the editing process. Because otherwise – this would be a cleaned up scene.

And we wouldn’t even know it EXISTED if it hadn’t been for the fact that it was an outdoor scene and there were a FUCK TON of people on site that day taking photos.

I’d say I’m sorry for that last one but . . . . I’m really not so . . . .

Anyhow . . . the Rumbelle fandom was so excited about this scene.  Cause we’d had these BTS photos for WEEKS . . . and then they just . . . . CUT IT . . .

And Adam posted it on Twitter two weeks later because the Rumbelle fandom had a collective shit fit directed at him and he basically wanted to shut us the hell up.

And this all makes me wonder . . . .  what ELSE had they filmed up to this point that we’ll never see?  Because it’s OBVIOUS that at some point, between Episode 1 and Episode 4 – they changed the trajectory of what the had in store for Rumple, Belle, and Rumbelle.

Why, you ask?  Well first of all – don’t forget that in E2, they cut that scene with Rumple and Henry.  A scene that Bobby GUSHED ABOUT at SDCC (starts at 1:40):

Also Bobby talked about Rumple being ADDICTED TO MAGIC several times at SDCC.  Here’s one example (mentions it at the end):

So . . . . . what we’re seeing to this point is so far TWO significant scenes that show Rumple as a caring human being have been CUT, one of them before the editing process even began.

And if they’re telling an addiction story . . . . . they’re sure as fuck not SHOWING US that here. They’re showing us Rumple being shady and an asshole . . . . but they’re not showing us addiction.  And even though Bobby is PLAYING IT that way . . . . . most viewers don’t do subtle.  The narrative must CLEARLY and UNEQUIVOCALLY TELL US that this is, in fact, what is going on.  And it doesn’t.  

Also – Belle has BARELY been on, and when she has been, it’s with Rumple.  I mean . . . . . gee, it’s like they don’t know what to DO with her without Rumple . . . . . . amazing that the fandom, at this point, has LOTS of ideas . .  . but the people who get paid for it?  Nothing.

So anyhow – that’s point ONE.

Onto point TWO . . . .

By now, we get it. They want Hook front and center. He is their pet, they want to go with Captain Swan.  Okay. But here’s another instance of “SHOW DON’T TELL.”  Having Hook follow Emma around like a lost puppy and just standing there isn’t TELLING. And also Emma has already had scenes with Regina and Elsa so far this season that show WAY more chemistry than any of the schmoopy shit they’re giving us with Emma and Hook.  

But here’s the kicker – instead of – you know – actually putting Hook on an actual, real, redemption arc – it just seems WAY easier to have him bully and blackmail Rumple (to get his HAND BACK so that he can play grab and tickle with his new boo without stabbing her, BTW) and make it look like RUMPLE is the baddie and Hook is just trying to be a good guy.  Basically they’re tearing down Rumple to prop up Hook.  Instead of showing Rumple’s struggle with addiction and Hook’s struggle with dealing with all the criminal shit he’s done in the past – THIS is the path they’re going with.  This is a disservice to BOTH characters.  And this episode, combined with the aforementioned factors, told me that yup, we’re doing this.  Because . . . .

Point THREE . . . . .

These writers are lazy as fuck and don’t want to be bothered writing complexity for literally ANYONE. Let’s not even discuss my issues with the Rumple trajectory.  Let’s look at Emma and her stupid little Pink Sandra Dee dress and the Charmings fawning over their damn date with a polaroid camera.

Who ARE these people? Did someone do a body swap with the Charming family?  Because that was some serious OOC shit, and for what?  To PROP UP HOOK.  So not only are they making Rumple an ass to prop the pirate, they’re making Emma and her parents into people I don’t recognize.  Because A&E are gross and seem to think that a woman must look and act a ‘certain way’ in order for a manly man like Hook to want to date her.  (I swear there’s some quote out there about “Hook makes Emma feminine” or some shit like that post-this episode.  Anyone have that link?)

This is kind of the beginning of my PERSONAL trajectory within the fandom  . . . . . . . FYI . . .

This was the point where I realized that I was watching a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SHOW than about half of the fandom . . . . . . . .

So I walked away from E4 frustrated about Rumple, Belle, Rumbelle, the propping of Hook, the shitty writers and their inability to write a complex story, and the obvious to me early beginnings of the breakdown of the Rumbelle fandom.  

Of course I had no idea what was coming, nor am I going to say because I know @sieben9 is spoiler free.

I just wanted them (and others who may have come in late in the game) to have a full grasp of WHY this episode, which in hindsight probably isn’t THAT BAD, was a turning point for me and many others.  Cause I know I’m not alone.

I noticed you reblogged a character ask meme, but who are your characters?

as a teenager I created many ocs for may fandoms but unfortunately  I never wrote any of those ones down but currently the ones I did write down this time and decided to actually put my ideas on paper I have 3 technically 4 but one of them I didn’t design.

ill start with an explanation on the one that is technically mine but also technically not @slukenxyuri made a post awhile ago and made people free icons for their blogs I asked if they would make me a forest mermaid icon and they did later I gave the mermaid a name she’s called Naia which depending on the name definition websites you use means Wave or Water nymph (I had been looking for name for a different character of mine saw that and just thought It suited the mermaid) but all I did was name her I haven’t given her a personality as of yet though canonically even though she resides within the ocean her aesthetic is forest and she’s torn between living in the sea and wanting to reside within a forest (at least that was the info I gave the artist) but how she’s looks is all down to @slukenxyuri I take no credit for that I just got attached and decided she deserved a name XD

my ocs (that I made) include

a Detroit become human oc called Olive: she’s an android and her model is one of those shop assistant android’s that wear the cute polka dotted uniforms I cant really tell you much more about her though she does become deviant that’s the only thing that stayed consistent about her everything else I kept changing and changing (I think I should revisit and work on her again give her a solid back story) her android model is a vh500 and canonically this is what the uniform looks like in game 

but in my head canon for her the top of her uniform where the polka dots are is green as opposed to pink to but I nice lighter green than the apron I know I wanted her function/job to be something nature based maybe working in a plant nursery or something (originally I did have her working at urban farms and caring for the bees because I have this habit when I make ocs I put a little of my self in all of them and I love bees) as much as I would love that to be her backstory canonically it didn’t make sense for her model to be working there so I scrapped the idea.

 a good omens OC: Esmerelda she’s a recent creation of mine and her profile is basic but these are the notes I have about her 

demon who resides in Scotlandresponsible for legend of the loch ness monster/water kelpie powers are similar to that of a siren black curly hair with green streaksgreen reptile like eyes (I just like the idea of the whole reptilian eye thing plus sort of go the idea from watching the tv series Salem the character Tituba gets blinded by crows and replaces her eyes with that of a cats I know its not reptilian but they did look very much the same and I just wanted her to have them and I mean technically she is reptilian since she’s essentially Nessie or the loch ness monster if you prefer) pale skin

she’s also very chaotic hence how in my head canon at least a quarter of the Scottish legends are down to Esmerelda.

some people have mistaken her for selkie and others a witch because she was just around in Scotland when all those mystical tales where a thing I haven’t really done research on dates and she hasn’t got an age yet (but she’s not as old as Crowley and Aziraphale even though age doesn’t mean anything to an immortal and I haven’t worked out the details of her demonic nature yet like was she an angel who fell or was she always a demon I need to do some research on the good omens canon like if its possible to just be “Born” a demon in this universe or if they all start off as angels and fall.

Last but not least my only complete oc Nerissa. she’s my mc for the arcana romance game I play. I haven’t got around to drawing her but I used a dress up game to get a basic gist of what I picture her looking like ( will probably do the same with Esme at a later date) 

her full name is Nerissa Morgana Dzovag

he favourite flowers are Amsonia commonly known as blue star flowers

her familiar is a nightingale called noisette (which was a gift from her brother Caspian) 

her birthday is the 13th of January which makes her a Capricorn her element is earth and her birthstone is garnet 

her favourite food is lemon cakes 

her favourite drink is peppermint tea

and her love interest is Julian Devorak 

canonically all mcs are magicians/ magic users and canonically something else happened but I wont spoil for those who are yet to play the game. 

also Nerissa is a mermaid I wont go into the long ass back story I wrote for her but basically her farther and her brother (who was a kid at the time) were pirates looking for this legendary treasure along with their ships captain. mermaid was guarding treasure fight happens between pirate captain and mermaid they kill each other Nerissa’s farther who was first mate now captain goes to look in treasure chest assuming that’s where the treasure is because duh lol finds a baby Nerissa instead and adopts her as his own. 

then I made it fit in with the arcana canon by making her farther the brother of the canonical aunt all mcs have and Nerissa decides to go to Vesuvia to work in her aunts shop and the rest is history (at least for those who have played the game XD)

also fun fact about Nerissa I picked her name from a baby naming book where the theme was mermaids/ocean and was still unsure about giving her that name what made me decide to keep her as Nerissa was one day I decided to watch the merchant of Venice because Jeremy irons was in it and I love him.

only to find that there is a character in it called Nerissa ( I cant remember if she is in the play I’ve only read it once) who is lady in waiting to Portia 

and in the arcana Julian’s sister is called Portia and vesuvia is basically Venice when you strip it down to its bare essentials 

so I was like well that fits ill keep her as Nerissa to me it was just like it was meant to be
