Roxas and Ventus are 'enemies-to-sworn-brothers' coded. I just know it.
They are like two cats meeting for the first time: staring at each other from afar, studying each other's every movement, wary, slowly getting to communicate in their own weird ways, getting close, closer and then BAMM! Before you know it, they're sleeping comfortably on each other, wrestle, text weird shitty memes to annoy each other, draw (roxas) stuff on the other's (ventus) face while he sleeps (which is more often than not because he came back as a narcoleptic or something), train together to create some sick combo moves.
Like I said. Cats.

This is so funny (and when I say funny I mean disgusting), because I'm the person he's referring to (hi!)
Falling out makes it sound trivial, but what he's not saying is that he chose to end our friendship because he didn't like that I was posting about Palestine and the genocide of the Palestinian people. Specifically, he found the use of the word genocide "disagreeable" (his word, not mine).
Now normally I wouldn't give a shit because hey, people say dumb things all the time and it has no impact. Except in this case it does, since he's from Israel and this reflects the views about what's happening in his country (but you won't see him posting about it on his massively popular blog).
Whilst there are children dying everyday, innocent people being killed and whole cultures being exterminated, he decides he's offended by my choice of words, which by the way the UN also uses .
We know that the government of Israel has repeatedly lied about the crimes it is committing on the Palestinian people. We know that they continue to defend their tactics as necessary against the "terrorists", lies which a lot of its citizens are happy to parrot despite the evidence proving otherwise. We also know that many Israelis and Jewish people, both from the country and around the world, are seeing through these lies and calling them out. We know that many young Israeli people are choosing to spend their days in prison rather than support the IDF and participate in the massacre of the people in Gaza. So I think it means something when someone as prominent as Charles chooses to say nothing, especially since he's been vocal about his criticisms of Netanyahu in the past, so not sure why he's choosing this hill to die on.

I got thinking about genderbends in asoiaf and how they have to change the story, realised... Davos' stays p much the same! Smuggling doesn't seem to need social standing or combat, if Marya's a guy then they still can have kids (maybe he was also a smuggler, but got his whole hands cut like was common so now he's a stay-at-home dad), women can probably be raised to noble no problem... and if any king would consider a female hand, it would be Stannis the Mannis.
Alternatively, het stavos with f!Stannis (Sarrah!!) Only works in the pre-series, but still. This teenage girl Lady commanding over the seige and a hundred hungry angry soldiers, caring for her baby brother. Having a terrible opinion of men bc of Robert (she was probably told to 'smile more'...) and expecting to marry some shit lord, but falling for a really nice, respectful smuggler. Being scared of meeting Marya as Davos' 'mistress' but instead getting a big ol HUG. I think she'd like sewing.
... you know what anon, you're having a third galaxy eye open here because EVERYTHING WORKS SO PERFECTLY HERE I'M DGDSJSDJLKLGSJK honestly if I wasn't completely behind with everything I'd be plotting either of these right now but like... let me reference them because YES THEY WOULD WORK SO NICELY T__T and omg f!stannis and marya being friends would be so precious!!! and yes f!stannis would be absolutely great at sewing and fine manual stuff I KNOW SHE WOULD BE T__T

still baffled at how "these people weren't preyed upon" apparently got read as "I am laughing at these idiots dying". esp when i have repeatedly said how horrific this whole situation is. so lemme overexplain I fucking guess.
they weren't "preyed upon", since they had plenty of money and opportunity for lawyers to also look over the waivers and for private investigation of the company, and were made aware of every hazard and caveat before the trip.
the CEO literally went as crew to replace an attorney who cancelled due to work at the last minute; you gonna tell me the CEO's own company misled him into the deathtrap he jerry-rigged himself? you gonna tell me someone whos job it is to suss out bullshit and read legal documents definitely got taken advantage of? how about the dude who had already done the trip before?
come the fuck on.
literally all I'm saying is that none of these people were in a position to be taken advantage of/exploited/"preyed upon". most had an intimate understanding of the risks from prior trips, and all were given warning after warning about possible horrible deaths, and they went anyway for ~adventure~. "oh woe poor stupid helpless billionaires getting twisted around a malicious corporation's finger" please think about this critically for two entire seconds

lets ramble abot my first jellyfish oc(s)
Since I'm not planning on making this idea into an actual game anymore, all lore is fair rambling game :)
Their full names are as follows:
Aurealis Aurita Vita (15) and Chrestos Chironex Vita (11)
they are brothers :)
I'll ramble under the cut, hehe
Aurealis Vita was born to Pleione Vita and Chryos Vita, two prominent figures in the noble society. He hails from a kingdom of human-marine animal hybrids, operating under a monarchy of crown jellyfish.
Aurealis themself was a hybrid with moon jellyfish (Aurelia labiata, to be exact) as well as his mother, while his father was a hybrid of a black sea nettle. As a sort of hybrid species, their hair acts like jellyfish tentacles. This fact will be important later.
Chryos was... not the best father, but his mother was loving and warm, so his early years were great.
Then came Chiro.
Aurealis was only 4 years old when Chiro was born and his mother died.
All the odds were against her with the birth. Coming from a long line of box jellyfish hybrids, there was a small chance that she could give birth to one.
Even then, newly born box jellyfish hybrids usually don't have venom potent enough to kill, but Chiro was different. His venom was unusually strong, and Pleione died in childbirth.
Everything changed then. Chryos upgraded from a not good father to an absolutely terrible father- often showing preferential treatment to Chiro and berating Aurealis for not meeting his standards. Sometimes verbally, other times physically. Sorry :(
Chiro himself was a precocious child, showing more interest in books than others. He quickly grew to be more smarter and competent than Aurealis, and stronger too. He often injured Aurealis on accident on account of his deadly hair, which would grow longer or shorter depending on his emotional state.
He still was not happy, however. He longed for affection and validation that didn't come from his father- which only came when he did something destructive.
The servants obviously feared him, and no matter how nice he was, he couldn't help but feel self conscious about their nervous demeanor around him.
Aurealis loathed Chiro, and she would bully him to make themselves feel better. He took the bullying- even internalizing it, because he felt as if his own existence were the cause of all the problems. Admist all that, he gained an interest in nematocytes, and spent much of his time studying them, and finding cures and uses for them.
Eventually, Aurealis had enough of life at home, and ran far, far away, to a whole other place full of different people and different... Everything, really. Leaving Chiro alone. Leaving everything they knew behind.
Honestly, their story came out of a desire for me to write something wholly dramatic and emotional, and I really liked it. I could develop it so much.
I latched onto Aurealis in particular, because her story involved heavy themes of self-hatred and the different ways to cope with it. They belittled others, they acted the opposite of the way they actually felt in a "fake it til you make it" sort of way (ie. ore-sama like). Of course, I give him a redemption arc, but they eventually have to deal with the fallout of their actions and I think that's great :).
Chiro, on the other hand, dealt a lot with gifted kid burnout and a different sort of self-hatred. He feels immense guilt for events that he had no control over, and seeks to fix them. He doesn't feel worthy if he doesn't have anything of worth to offer anyone, and his story is just. Incredibly sad.
Especially since terrible things could happen to him (I haven't decided yet tbh). Which I will ramble about in a different post. All I will say is that I named his theme is named "Lethe" for a narrative reason, hehe.
So anyways. They're the perfect comfort characters.
Recently I've been super into writing the brothers as adults (hence the florist Aurealis) and... Ugh. I've been missing them more and more lately, especially since I still need to write and design for Ite!
