i saw your post about the final zoom out shot at the end of ds9 when i was only like halfway through the show and just kinda. absorbed it and didn't react but then when i finished the show for the first time and it happened i just started bawling uncontrollably. like i was truly inconsolable for almost an hour and every time i think of that shot i cry a little bit
oh man this ask takes me right back 🥲 it really is like that. i dont even really know how to put it into words but something about watching the station—our temporary home, our friend even—disappear into the vastness of space, knowing the show is over and we’ll never get to see it again, or be there again….. knowing that we’re leaving it all behind after such an incredible story and adventure….. it is a BRUTAL tear-jerker for real. literally no other star trek show ending is like it, and i think thats maybe because no other star trek show IS like it. its just an absolutely beautiful final shot that the show 100% earned and god if it doesnt get me every single time
