Ok this is a bit spoiler-y, but there's a moment towards the end of the story where Cmedic finds Regent chained up inside The Master's castle. Cmedic at this point has been hunted down for a year by the Disciples and has little to no patience for them anymore, but when he sees what Regent is put through, he helps him.

Cmedic releases Regent from his chains and Regent...offers Cmedic a way out if the castle. He tries to save him.

Regent is the only Disciple who isn't evil. He's just lashing out because of pain.
