February reads
Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
This book was surprisingly good. I immediately preordered the sequel after finishing it. It's about 2 serial killers that kill other serial killers and fall in love. I initially found this book because someone had posted the list of trigger warnings from the front of the book and I was intrigued by "accidental cannibalism" followed by "not so accidental cannibalism." This book is definitely not for the squeamish.
5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
I've had the Lunar Chronicles sitting on my shelf for so long and I'm glad I'm finally reading it. I loved how the author manages to tie together the previous book (a Cinderella retelling) with this one (a little red riding hood retelling). I also like that it doesn't really feel like a retelling but there are still a lot of elements of the original fairytales woven in. It just blends seamlessly into the overall story.
4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman
I dont think I've read an Alice Oseman book that hasn't made me cry. And I will cry again when it's adapted into the show.
5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Azula in the Spirit Temple by Faith Erin Hicks
Azula goes through it in this one. And she gets so close to becoming a little better. I really want a redemption arc for her but it's still gonna be a whole journey before she gets anywhere near that.
4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas
Ugh do I like these now? I think I do. I care about the characters and that's what got me. Also the politics. It's actually kinda interesting.
5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett
This one took me a while to get through. I had to change to the audiobook halfway through cause I couldn't make myself sit and read it. And honestly I don't even know why. I liked it. It was funny and had an interesting premise and characters. I have heard though that the rest of Discworld improves and that colour of magic isn't really the best place to start. Idk, I'm definitely gonna keep reading Discworld though.

Any new books, movies, or tv shows to recommend?
Unfortunately, I've been bad about reading my books lately. I'm currently like halfway through a couple of books (I'm a mood reader) LOL.
I'm currently in the process of reading:
Scythe by Neal Shusterman (very good so far).
Hooked by Emily McIntire. I love that the author says it's not a retelling but.... I don't know what else you'd call it LOL.
And of course A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas. I love Rhysand. I want them to make a movie for these books so bad.
I haven't seen any movies that I've just been wow'd with. I recently watched Beekeeper and it was definitely a typical Jason Statham movie. LOL
TV Shows, I'm a very big fan of Bridgerton. Highly recommend it. I've also been watching House of Dragons. I am Team Black all the way if you cared to know. LOL. :)
Any recommendations???

I also hated Nesta in the first book 😂 I think I hated her in the third book as well, at least halfway through, and then started to like her more. She's so complex, and I love that SJM developed her character but was able to keep her personality. Just 😩👌 (but good lord, the amount of times SMJ would say something along the lines of "breasts getting heavy" whenever the female characters got aroused 💀 like, what?) Anyway, whenever you finish you should let me know your Thoughts™ 👀
And oh yeah, I would definitely ask his age. I also have a thing about ages. I'm 26 and I don't think I could date anyone younger than 22-23 (even that feels like it's pushing it 💀). I think it's a valid question to ask, and that way you don't have to worry about carrying it on longer than necessary 🤷🏻‍♀️

I finished it!! It was so good but now I need another one so like when is she publishing more?? I kinda figured that Nesta was gonna get thrown in there just because of how it was mentioned earlier in the book that once you’re in there you can’t be taken out, so like… why would that comment be made if it wouldn’t come back later? But her with Emerie and Gwyn! I loved their friendship so so so much, and clearly the two of them truly helped her develop into the great character that she is! When one of the girls I work with told me that Court of Silver Flames was her favorite, I didn’t understand why it was supposedly so much better until I finally read it and like, yeah I figured she meant because of the spicy bits, but the plot and character development of Nesta that happened in this book was so good! I think especially with it coming after Wings and Ruin which was a whole lot of war plot, and after Frost and Starlight which just felt like filler to me, this one just felt so much better. I genuinely enjoyed it so much.
But oh my god the “breasts getting heavy” thing had me like dying each time I read it because she overused it so much, and like you said, what??
And about the topic about the guy I gave my number to, yeah he was 20 and I’m 27 so yesterday I told him it’s not gonna work because I just can’t get over an age gap like that, but now I’m a little nervous about whether he’s still gonna come through as a regular because if so….. lmao it’s gonna be awkward and I don’t want to do that
