New Comics Time!
Absolute Green Lantern #2 - I think the choice to alternate past and present here is a lot less effective than in some of the other absolute titles--like absolute flash. The past plotline just has so much more going on while the present is just Jo and Hal going 'do you remember what just happened? I remember what just happened.' The ending of shot of John looked really cool.
Absolute Superman #7 - I will be honest, I didn't care that much about the Brainiac origin. He seems creepy. Let's get back to Superman now.
Black Canary: Best of the Best #6 - Yeah, I am glad that this series is over. Why King felt the need to end on his announcers is beyond me, but I did like getting to see Dinah with the short dark hairstyle.
Poison Ivy #33 - Takara is back! Yipee, I'm glad the art is pretty again. Anyway, the issue was good and I am here for the Pam and Janet drama, but I am a little embarrassed to admit that most of my thoughts on this issues consist of me thinking about the 'Janet Drake from HR' AU and imagining Tim showing up and shouting at Pam like 'what do you mean my mom's dying from a fungal infection! You'd better do something about it right now--' which, uh, has little to do with the actual plot 😅 That being said, of course things can't go well for Pam. Nothing gold can stay....
Two Face #6 - This felt like a solid conclusion to the mini. I do think the earlier issues with the greater focus on legal drama were more fun, and the ending wasn't really a suprise, but it was built up to well. My one pet peeve is Bruce showing up to say "Things don't change. Not in Gotham." I know he is suffering from being a supporting character who needs to get out of the way for the ending and that he's ultimately right in this case, but it just feels to cynical for him! Batman lives his every day trying to make Gotham change! He's the eternal optimist!
Justice League: The Atom Project #5 - We're starting to get an idea of how the past and present narratives connect which is satisfying. Bringing in Inferno and tying into the "We are Yesterday" storyline feels like this is starting to bite off more than it can chew though. I'm normally all for continuity, but since this is a mini, I expect it to be more focused.
Resurrection man: Quantum Karma #2 - I continue to just be vibing while reading this.
Secret Six #3 - I was excited for more checkmate stuff this issue so the reveal that it was Jeannette there at the end was disappointing. Since when does she do stuff on the government agency side of DC? My checkmate blorbos...
Birds of Prey #22 - Thompson's really hitting her stride with this series. There was lots of fun stuff in this issue: Cass getting to use her detective skills, Babs rocking it as Oracle, the conflict between Dinah and Babs (and Cass and Sin in the background). I will say that Cass' dialogue felt a little wordy at bits, though. (Also, I just still love the cover of this issue.)
Batgirl #8 - Overall, I think this issue was able to stick the landing. This issue does continue to have a great visual look--art, colors, and even the letters. The art feels very dynamic and works well with the action sequences. My favorite parts of this were with all the Richard Dragon characters. Brombal did something I really liked with the dialogue where he emulated the 70s style with the cadence and the amount of exclamation points.
That all being said, I'm still not a huge fan of the vengeance quest aspect to Sandra with this. The Shiva dream looked very cool but I'm not feeling it. These two issues also have a telling that feels very straightforward. I get that it's there to lay out Shiva's new definitive backstory and origin, but also with the in-universe conceit of it being this story that Shiva's telling Cass, I keep expecting there to be more of an unreliable tilt the narration. I expect Shiva to have an agenda, and maybe there's hints of that but, like I said, it just feels very straightforward. Finally, and this is just a little detail that bothers me, but why does the train attendant know Cass' name? I doubt she's paid enough for that. Nobody knows MY name when I travel.

Hospital
one word prompts  \ @oracleonline - accepting, mutuals only
Tumblr media
everything in her body hurts,  the kind of pain that goes bone-deep and settles there with no intention of letting up. it doesn’t really matter,  though,  because there’s a needle in her arm and ivy can’t focus on anything else.  she keeps her eyes closed to try and focus,  the metal still cold where it touches the inside of her arm because her body is not really any warmer than it and honestly ?  this would be fine if she remembered with a bit more clarity what happened for her to wake up in what is,  if the beeping she can hear all around her are any indication,  most definitely an hospital.  the idea of someone sliding a fucking needle in her arm while she’s unconscious is enough to make her panic,  just slightly,  just enough for her breathing to speed up  -  her free hand moving out of instinct to settle where her skin is pierced to try and pull it out.  her eyes open,  at the first yank,  and that’s when she realizes she’s not alone.
Tumblr media
the surprise dulls the panic to a whisper at the back of her mind,  her fingers stilling on the needle as she meets a very sharp gaze.  “ —- I guess that’s staying in. ”  had it been anyone else,  pamela would have kept yanking on it til something gave,  but there’s something about the way the other is looking at her that calms her down instantly.
“  listen,  I know I was right in the middle of that explosion  —–  ”  because that much she remembers now,  with something to distract her from the triggering needle still stuck in her body,  “ but I was just looking for something.  wrong place,  wrong time kind of deal. ”

Batman Unburied for the fandom blorbo ask game?
Oooh. I'm soo excited.
Okay. Okay. Let's go.
Blorbo - Riddler, I would say obviously but Barbara also deserves it, the thing is Edward is always my blorbo and Unburied is one of my favorite Eddies so he is blorbo. Okay. Actually they can share. They are a duo for a long part of the show, they can be my double blorbo.
Scrunkly - okay. Eddie. But he is already blorbo so instead I'm gonna say Bruce. He is super badass but also super cute and caring and I love him. He definitivaly opens my protective agression (though realistically he would be the one protecting me).
Scrimblo Bimblo - Barbara. Now hear me out: she is very apreciated but I personally think she still deserves more apreaciation. Pam is on the same vein. Until people are workshipping this woman isn't enough.
In a more accurate definition both King Tut and Reene Montoya. Love them, unapreciated, deserved more screem time.
Glup Shitto - Again Reene and Tut. But like real obscure the employeers from Wayne Tech from that one scene and the henchmen that was voiced by Griffin McElroy. [Honorable mention Summer Gleyson, loved her, she should be a radio host more].
Poor Little Meow Meow - Eddie. He is everything. But also Pamela, owner of my hearth, she is perfect, love her, she deserves the world but she is sorta problematic, I mean I believe she did nothing wrong but I was told murder, kiddnaping and planning to wipe out humanity and all we did to give Earth back to the Green is frown upon by modern society. I woind't call her pathetic but none of her plans suceeded so maybe a bit due to unfortunate circunstances (now besides Eddie this would be the perfect place for Stirk but, controversial opinion, I have no feelings towards him whatsoever, he had good scenes but I care very little for Stirk as a person).
Horse Plinko - with love? Probably Eddie, Pam or Babs, maybe Bruce. With the power of hate? Flass and Strange. Just because I think their reaction would be funny? Jervis and Stirk.
Eeby Deepy - Flass. I hope he dies a violent, humiliating and painfull death. I hate him sooo mucn.
