And i think about how much usagis tone would change if there was more blood in the drawings. If the fur on his hands were stained pink, if the blue of his outfit was stained a muddy brown. It makes me go crazy, i think.

I think this works really well as both platonic and/or romantic. They were all very close friends (some could be interpreted as romantic) in their past lives and then after they were reincarnated (thousands or years later) they all find each other again, and will find each other over and over again.

listen. usamamo is the big reincarnation romance ship in Sailor Moon and it's SO valid. but also just as valid is Usagi and all of her friends, some of whom she is gay for bc she is the Bi Icon of This and Every Time. They reincarnate to find their princess.

They used their last breaths to confess their love for each other during the final battle and the last chapter revealed they were reincarnated in the modern era, got married, had five kids, and now run a restaurant.

Small info dump about Hidden Hero Usagi

His name is Tsuki Miyamoto. "Usagi" is his nickname.

Miyamoto Usagi's biological ancestor but he doesn't know that because he was teleported to his current dimension as a baby lmao

Oh yeah the Usagi Yojimbo comics exist in this universe, so Tsuki thinks that Miyamoto Usagi is completely fictional despite his ghost visiting him in his dreams every now and then

He's just like "wowie! I must really like this character if I'm dreaming about him being my grandpa! How goofy :D" and old man Usagi is like "Great great something grandson, I am BEGGING YOU to THINK"

Grew up in the Hidden City, raised by a yōkai couple in a busier area.

like recently i watched yentl with a friend and i was all like see the ending is okay yentl doesnt have to be straight😌 but she also was horrified about hadass and like YEAH i think my instinct was to respond with such relief that they didnt like make yentl end up a housewife that i didnt process the fact that hadass, after getting a little taste of being with someone who sees her as an equal and encourages her intellectually, just gets to spend the rest of her life with a sullen and violent misogynist who has been explicitly shown not to see women as people like !!!!!!!!!!! what !!!!!!

I love Galaxia's writing in manga so much it gets on my nerves everytime I think about how 90s anime turned her into this wicked villainess controlled by Chaos that only wants to make others suffer and become the strongest :/ In manga she is a tragic character who has a backstory that is parallel to Usagi, the only villain that wasn't deceived by Chaos but the one that wanted to deceive Chaos and everything she did was only to find a star that is worth to have her own, or rather maybe a star that would make her feel worthy. And the fact that her mortal enemy she waited to meet and fight for years was the star she wanted to have all along. "Sailor Moon, i've finally found it. I found my star. It is so big and so bright, i can't reach it." Her hand tries to reach out to Usagi but she dies right before she could. She died at the moment that she wished for her whole life. And that was one of the most tragic deaths I have ever seen to be honest. Galaxia is a villain who was very unlucky and had her reasons yet also very selfish, and I think this complexity made her a great villain. I can't wait for Cosmos to do her justice.
