#idk I think Steve would LOVE pumpkin patches

Their first date is during fall.

It’s several months of learning each other, becoming actual friends and dancing around each other. They go through spring together figuring out their new normal, summer brings genuine friendship and fall is beginning to look like the start of love.

Eddie’s the one to ask, being the first to admit feelings and being the brave one between the two of them.

His hands were shaking, felt like he was sweating through all the layers on him. His eyes wide and determined, hopeful. “Go on a date with me? Please?”

Steve’s heart beats fast as he stared at him, a jolt of pure hope and joy went through. “Yeah, yes Ed, I’d like that.”

The date is simple, something easy for them. The both of them don’t need anything extreme, simple is enough.

A pumpkin patch had just opened the week before and Eddie has seen Steve staring at the pumpkins sitting on someone’s front lawn a few days before asking him on the date.

Watching Steve’s eyes light up at the entrance, it makes Eddie’s heart beat faster.

They walk around, holding hands and picking out any pumpkins they both like. Eddie grabs a few small ones while Steve ends up with one big enough to crave, along with a few small ones too. They pass on the corn maze, ride a tractor together with an older couple and their grandchild, listening to the driver give out facts about the farm and pumpkins.

Eventually they end up sitting on a haystack, holding hot chocolate listening to the chatter around them while watching the sunset, not talking just enjoying being next to each other.

Some day in the future, they’ll be here again where Steve’s the brave one and proposes to Eddie.

Argyle -> Surfer Boy Pizza Visor

I'm a huge hat person, but mostly with beanies and baseball caps. However, I love stealing people's hats. At a party onetime, I collected and wore as many hats as people let me borrow for the night. So during a bonfire night, I can definitely imagine meeting Argyle for the first time and ask him if I could borrow his visor. Through the night we just keep stealing it back from one another, and before I hand it back for the last time, I stuck my phone number on a piece a paper and tucked it into the velcro straps. Left him a blushing mess.

Robin -> Patch Jacket

I have my own that I've been working on since I was a sophomore in high school, and I think it would be really cute if we borrowed each other's jackets. Just casual days out where we wear each other's patch/pin jackets, and our friends try to figure out which one belongs to each of us. They've only ever seen us switch between them, and they never knew who the original owner was. I think it would be cute if we embroidered each other's names into the inside cuffs.

Jonathan -> Fuzz-Lined Jean Jacket or Oatmeal Sweater

I want a bomber style jacket so badly, but these jackets are sososo cozy looking as well. I am also a sucker for sailor knit/cable knit sweaters, and I will steal both at some point I definitely stole it after going pumpkin and apple picking on a cold autumn day, and he never really noticed. Just made sure to pull the collar close to my neck so I wouldn't get cold. When we hang out with everyone next, someone asks if that's his jacket I'm wearing, and he just smiles all warm and cute at me.

Billy -> Brown Leather Jacket and Red Button Down Shirt

I put style almost above all else, but coming from New England, I'm really good at finding stylish and useful clothing. Otherwise, I will freeze to death. When it comes to the rain, however, I will opt out of wearing a jacket or bring an umbrella, because I want to feel the rain hit my skin. I love it. But one day, after a shift at the diner, I didn't realize it was going to rain so hard, and I have to call Billy to pick me up. He dashes in and wraps me up in his jacket before we both book it back to his car. When we get home to our apartment, I take a shower while he makes dinner. I steal his red button down shirt that was strewn across the room and join him for a cozy night in.

Steve -> Yellow Sweater

You cannot tell me that this is not his favorite sweater ever, and that it smells exactly like him. I have to be very careful with how I acquire this piece, because he will not let it out of his sight. Steve is definitely onto how sneaky I am with how much clothes I steal, and he will not let me steal this one. It's his comfort clothing item. But after a long day of classes and building stress and anxiety, I just crash in our apartment bedroom and sob. Burrowing under the cover, chest heaving, puffy eyes, I don't even hear Steve come back from his afternoon classes. He immediately comes over and pulls me out to check what's wrong, and once I've calmed down, he carefully detangles himself and grabs his sweater from the closet. Pulls it over me and just lets me lay on his chest to listen to his heart.

Eddie -> Pants with the Belt

As much as I want to steal his jacket, I'll choose another clothing item to be original. But please ask me about how I stole his jacket one time. I typically fall out of bed at the last minute possible to be on time to meetings or classes, because I love how warm my bed is or because I never sleep. And if Eddie stayed the night??? Yeah, neither of us want to get up and leave the cuddle bundle. But exam day waits for no one, and I have to rush out of the house. Grabbing his pants and one of my shirts, I'm clicking the buckle to make it fit as best as I can while running out the door. I am a sucker and hopeless romantic when it comes to boyfriend jeans.

Nancy -> Oatmeal Turtleneck Sweater

This was hard, because she and I are on opposite sides of the style spectrum. BUT SHE HAS AN OATMEAL TURTLE NECK THAT I NEED. That is this softest, wool I have ever seen. Getting ready to go out to get groceries once the roads have been cleared from the snow storm last night, I grab her sweater, because it's like being wrapped up in a blanket. We were having a movie marathon the night before when the unexpected storm settled in, so we both agreed it was too dangerous to drive. An impromptu sleepover with soft chats, gentle touches, and tangled cuddles. The faint scent of her perfume still lingers on the comfy, slightly coarse yarn. She gives me the sweetest forehead kiss when she turns to ask if I'm ready.

okay but drawing leaves and then making little art scenes around them just sounds so cute and i wanna do that asap

from the hp universe i’d ship you with…neville longbottom! i feel like neville would love the simplicity of tracing the leaves and then creating some sort of scenery from it. you’d visit the farmers’ market, do some gardening, and enjoy a few hayrides and corn mazes. to top off the day, you’d both enjoy a bonfire hosted by your friends while sipping on some homemade hot cider, the both of you bundled up under a warm blanket.

from the mcu, i’d ship you with…steve rogers! steve is very creative and artistic, so i think he’d enjoy tracing the leaves and making art from it. the two of you would also go on lots of walks around the city, admiring how gorgeous it looks during the fall and then you’d stop at a little café for a quick bite to eat and a cup of coffee, and if there’s a little street fair or carnival, you can bet that steve wants to win you the biggest teddy bear on the display. after a day full of fun and entertainment, the two of you would curl up with some hot chocolate and have a scary movie marathon, complete with steve holding you extra close so you feel safe.

ST s02e01 !!!

So I ended up not able to watch until late, because a writing assignment deadline snuck up on me, but I collected up some thoughts. This is my first re-watch of ST ever (I’m not a huge re-watcher usually, I always wait a long while even if I really love something) so a lot of this is, Oh yeah that, but with knowing what comes later :) Here goes!

So I totally forgot, actually, that the Kali gang getaway is the cold open of season 2. Since supposedly the original plan for ST was that Eleven would die at the end of s1 -- and the whole show be an “anthology” series, with a totally different cast in each season -- seeing this now I can imagine the bones of a very different Stranger Things. A different Brenner / Hawkins Lab victim being a character in a new ensemble each year? I mean I’d much rather have the show we actually have, but, interesting.

When Will has his episode in the arcade, seeing the stormy Upside Down: surprising to me how surprised Will isn’t. Later we’re told he had another episode recently. For whatever reason that detail didn’t stick in my memory. It gets me going wondering what Will makes of the Upside Down; he’s obviously had so much more opportunity to wonder about it than I was imagining before.

When Murray’s trying to talk with Hopper, that one other cop brings up Troy peeing himself in s1. I know it’s setup for Troy actually showing up later but idk, I always thought it was weird the cop would remember it a year later.

Apropos nothing: Hopper’s “now what” vibe in the office always makes me imagine a Muppet movie version of Stranger Things where David Harbour is the only human actor. I don’t know why.

Steve is Ted. Or in danger of becoming Ted, at least. Talking up working for his dad. “Finger lickin’ good.”

I do enjoy the way Billy drives up to the school like he’s a badass, and then the way Max slinks out of his car is like he’s the most cringe parent-dropping-off-kid-at-school ever

So we’ve seen Joyce with Will, and Joyce (sewing Will’s Ghostbusters costume and then) with Bob. No Joyce just bein’ Joyce. I know it’s a super-common observation about the way adult women characters are often written that they don’t get their own lives outside of the boys/men they’re close to, but, huh.

Not quite halfway through the episode when Hopper gets to the pumpkin patch, and there’s a solid four or five plot threads begun, without the episode feeling jumbled. (except maybe the kali stuff, but yeah)

“How did you feel when you saw the storm?” I've always liked Dr. Owens, but I’m remembering now how at first I couldn’t decide if he was trustworthy or not. Right now I’m thinking about the DID / Will-created-the-Mind-Flayer theories and wondering how important this question might be after all 🧐

Wow Mike, you’ve had a rough year too. It feels significant to me that Lucas and Dustin aren’t affected along with Will by “the anniversary effect” as hard as Mike is. There’s a bunch going on thematically in that scene of him alone in the basement, too: (literally) putting away childish things (paralleling in my mind the stuff with Will not wanting to grow up in s3!!), trying to get El on the walkie-talkie and calling himself “stupid,” setup for the love/stupid/crazy stuff coming later.

Hopper: “Eight-fifteen, not eight-one-five.” He’s correcting the way Mike taught El to tell time in s1. Huh.

Picking of Pumpkins

So this is part of a book I’m writing on Quotev.  idk how to do descriptions man I’m new at this

Your superhero name in the fic is gonna be Wraith. Okay? Okay.

"GET UP YOU LAZY LUMPS", you banged two pots together in hopes of waking the Avengers up. They -except for Natasha, who was sitting at the table- had already slept through all of their alarms, and you had tried countless other things like poking them, opening their curtains, and ripping off their blankets.(Bad idea for Tony- he had chosen that night to sleep naked, an image you'll never get out of your head.)

     One by one avengers started trickling into the kitchen. Clint, who was the last one in, yawned "Why must you wake us up in such an ungodly way at such an ungodly hour, it's u-" "Clint if you say ungodly one more time I will fucking murder you." Tony said, sitting down at the table. "Language," Steve chided tiredly. "I made pancakes," you pointed to a stack of pancakes ready to be eaten. "And Clint, it's ten, that's hardly an ungodly hour." Natasha put in. Bucky reached for the syrup and Sam snatched it away before he could grab it. They then proceeded to get into a fight. You sighed and face palmed. 

     "Why did you wake us up though? You normally just let us sleep." Bruce asked. "Becauseee we're going pumpkin picking" you did jazz hands, and no one seemed impressed. Tony stared "Y/N, you woke us up to go pumpkin picking?" You huffed "You guys are so boring when it comes to holidays and I love Halloween so we're going pumpkin picking. Now get off your asses and get dressed." Their eyes widened and they all rushed out to get dressed. 

     Half an hour later the Avengers had crammed into your car and you were off to the pumpkin patch. It had been fifteen minutes when Loki spoke up. "Y/N, why are we going to go buy pumpkins?" You blinked, "to carve them, why else?" "But why would we need to carve them?" Thor asked as you switched lanes. You glanced in the rear view mirror. "Anyone else wanna answer that?" They all shook their heads. You sighed, "fine, there are many different traditions and reasons why people carve pumpkins, they range from trying to scare evil spirits away to carving ancestors faces into the pumpkins to honor them." Thor and Loki nodded in understanding. You noticed the pumpkin patch up ahead and found a parking spot. "All right guys, we're here. Now get outta my car."

     You all trudged to the entrance before stopping. "All right I think we should split up into teams of two, Thor and Bruce, you two are together, Tony and Rhodey, Bucky and Steve, Sam and Scott, Clint and Pietro, T'challa and Wanda, Nat and I, Loki and Vision." The avengers all nodded and mumbled their agreement and then you were off. You hummed to yourself and walked with Natasha while Loki and Vision walked ahead (or in Vision's case, floated). You felt a sharp poke in your arm and flinched. You glared at Natasha, "why'd you do that?" She smiled maniacally, "because I have just seen the best pumpkin in the patch and Tony's about to beat you to it." Your head snapped up and you spotted said pumpkin and Tony walking towards it.

     Your eyes narrowed and you sprinted towards the pumpkin. You passed Tony, made sure no little kid wanted it, checked the pumpkin over, and scooped it into your arms. Tony groaned, "aww I wanted that pumpkin," you smirked at him, "too slow, princess." Then you ran over to Natasha. She smiled, "Now that you have a nice pumpkin, you need to help me find one." You groaned, "really Nat?" Her smile grew so it stretched across her face in quite a creepy way. "Alright, alright, just stop smiling, you're scaring me." She snickered and you two went off to find her a perfect pumpkin.

     "Come on Pietro just pick a pumpkin, everyone else picked one." Steve was getting rather tired. You guys had been there for five hours and Pietro still hadn't picked a pumpkin because he was a diva and wanted a perfect pumpkin. You sighed, "I'm gonna go buy the pumpkins we already have." Tony smiled, "great idea, I'll come with you." You smiled back at him before grabbing the handle of the wagon and pulling it to the cashier. The cashier saw you both and his jaw dropped. "You're Wraith!" He looked at Tony, "and you're Iron Man! Oh my gosh, I'm such a big fan of you both! Can I have an autograph?" You gave him a quick grin and signed the piece of paper that he handed to you for you to autograph. "We need to buy these," Tony said, pulling up the wagon. "Oh, yeah." You (using Tony's credit card) paid for your pumpkins and loaded them into your car. 

     You came back to the pumpkin patch to find that Pietro still hadn't picked a pumpkin. Noticing Bruce was going a little green you decided to quickly calm the situation down. "Pietro, if you pick a pumpkin now, I'll let you carve yours first." His eyes lit up at the prospect of being the first to carve his pumpkin so he agreed. You paid for his pumpkin and you all got into the car. Wanda who was sitting next to you smiled and whispered, "quick thinking, is he really going to be the first to carve his pumpkin?" You grinned back at her, "Nah, I bought enough pumpkin tools so everyone goes at the same time." She high fived you and you turned your focus onto driving. 

     When you got back to the compound everyone was itching to carve their pumpkin, your excitement had rubbed off on them. You spread out newspapers and carving tools and let the Avengers wreak havoc. Most of the pumpkins were actually very good, the best was Loki, surprising, seeing as he had never done this before. You looked at each pumpkin and rolled your eyes. Loki had carved a cat silhouetted by the moon, Clint had carved a bow an arrow, Natasha had carved a black widow hourglass, Wanda opted for the traditional pumpkin face, Tony had carved his face into it while Thor carved his hammer. Steve carved his shield and Pietro carved the Nike symbol. Bruce carved a normal face along with Wanda. Bucky carved a star and Sam carved some wings. Rhodey carved his suit's helmet while T'challa carved a panther. You carved a Jack Skellington face while Scott carved an ant. Vision freaked out over what to carve and ended up carving a pumpkin on the pumpkin. After everyone had finished and pumpkin guts were strewn everywhere. You stepped back to look at the mess that was made and sighed. This was gonna take a very long time to clean up.
