I feel like you guys grow up living close to each other but you never really spoke until middle school and then you just clicked and were instant best friends

but in high school you both get a bit awkward around each other for some reason

well that reason is ofc bc you’ve both, unbeknownst to the other, started to develop feelings for each other

you’re still friends but there’s just this weird underlying tension, your stares lingering on each other’s faces longer than needed, palpable silences, looking at each other’s lips, etc.

it’s one of those funny things where literally everyone else can see it but you two

Argyle is always on Jonathan about just telling you, meanwhile Nancy and Robin are on your case about the same thing

so it finally happens when a big group of you are hanging out, like you, Jonathan, Robin, Nancy, Argyle, Steve and Eddie, but they’ve secretly planned to bail out and leave you and Jonathan locked alone together

the two of you sit in awkward silence for a while before Jonathan eventually launches into a fast ramble about how he’s really sorry for how awkward everything is and he’s sorry your friendship has gone a bit weird and he just rambles on and on about how much he actually likes you but he just keeps apologising at the same time

so eventually you just have to shut him up by kissing him

now the two of you have admitted your feelings for each other things are still a little bit awkward to begin with and it takes a while for the two of you to settle properly into your relationship

your relationship starts off very slow, and he’s reluctant to take things too far too quickly bc he cares about you so much

but once you guys are in deep he’s so devoted and loving, like Jonathan's the type to frequently remind you how he feels about you and is always saying ‘I love you’

you’d be his muse and his model for his photography

going on lil road trips together to find cool and interesting places for him to photograph

and again you get to model at all these cool and unique places that the two of you find

Jonathan is the absolute best gift-giver when it comes to your birthdays or anniversaries, he always gives you a photo-album but he makes them all different, like themed albums basically

so for your birthday one year you get an album that’s dedicated to you and Jonathan and the places you’ve travelled together, and the whole album is like a map of your journeys together

but your anniversary one is pictures he’s taken as your relationship has progressed, so it starts with pictures of the two of you hanging out as friends, the rest of the group there in the pictures too, then there’s the first picture he ever took of you alone, the first picture he took of you once you became a couple, the first of one of just the two of you together, your first date, your second date, etc., and this album just reads like a map of your relationship together and it’s just the cutest thing

even the pictures that he doesn’t give to you as a gift he still keeps them neatly organised in albums of his own

like Eddie has a collection of Polaroids of his lover but they’re all messily strewn about in a box under his bed (see my dating Eddie headcanons here)

but Jonathan keeps all of his pictures organised, so when he has the urge to look up a certain picture of you or a certain moment, he knows exactly where to find it

Joyce absolutely adores you and she basically becomes like another mother / bestie to you, like you’ll hang out just with Joyce even if Jonathan’s not even there

Jonathan and the Byers in general become like a safe-haven to you for when things are shitty at home and you need to get away

being friends with Will, basically like another sibling to him, and almost becoming like a safe space for him to turn to

he’ll always give you his coat even if it’s freezing outside, your comfort is always this boy’s no.1 priority

Jonathan is a very loving and sweet boyfriend, like he’s always doting on you, and sometimes it can get a bit intense / annoying but you know it’s just of how much he loves you

There’s something really calming about watching Jon sleep. The part in his lips where his face is smooshed into his pillow, the tousled hair that covers it. The sun that shatters through the blinds and lights up the expanse of his back. The freckles that litter it. How you can see his breathing stutter when his moving back jumps every once in a while.

It’s so calming you almost fall back asleep again. You don’t have enough time when you watch Jonathan wake up. Blinking into consciousness. He’s frowning and then smiling when he remembers where he is.

“Hey,” he says. So quiet you almost miss it. You would’ve if you weren’t tracing the pattern of his soft lips like they might disappear one day. Like you’ll never get to kiss him again.

The past week that’s all it’s felt like. Like you’ll never get to kiss him how you want to. Then last night happened. He’d kissed you because he wanted. Kissed you until he couldn’t breathe — you’re sure you weren’t at one point. And the things he’d said, how he touched you like you were glass.

Y/N, stop. Look at me. Need to see you’re face — yeah there we are, gorgeous.

You smile into your pillow at the thought of it. Giddiness with a mixture of bewilderment. Had you dreamt the entire thing?

“Morning,” he says again because you’re in your head.

You shake back your thoughts before they consume you. If he keeps looking at you like that you might cry.

“Morning, Jon,” you say, hand coming up to his face.

He lets you brush his hair from his face before he says, “How you feeling?”

You remember you’re naked. How your legs ache in a good way. How heavy your stomach feels. “M’okay.”

“Yeah?” he asks. Jon is usually very soft. Though to see him like this is something different. Gentle and delicate in the early morning hours.

“I’m a little sore,” you say shyly, face heating more than the sun has allowed you to. “But I’m okay.”

Jonathan lets the arm between you both come down to sit on your belly, over the thin sheet that covers you, rubbing and massaging the flesh there hard enough to soothe you. It does. Though the thought of him wanting to touch you outside of last night's happenings makes you feel warm. And the almost overwhelming need to cry.

After last night, after all the encouragements and praises he had doted you with, he’d made sure you were comfortable. Made sure you had water and enough pillows. Opened the window so you weren’t hot. He’d stroked your hair until you’d fallen asleep.

You don’t think you've ever spent the night after sleeping with someone, let alone being treated the way Jon had been with you. You almost expected to be kicked out afterwards, despite how lovely he'd been, it’d be nothing different.

Boys can have a way of making you feel like you’re special, deserving of everything they give you just to earn something from you in return. Then throwing you out once they get it. You feel guilty for ever thinking he was like that in the first place.

You don’t even know you’re crying until Jonathan does. He lets his hand roam up to your face to catch your first tear with his thumb, wiping it from the bridge of your nose.

“Hey,” he coos, “you okay?”

You know what’s wrong but you also don’t. Well, you do really know, though the reaction you’ve given startles you. You blink back your tears, smiling.

“Yeah,” you mumble wetly, letting your hand fall on top of his where it’s pressed firmly into your cheek.

“I don’t wanna be annoying,” he almost laughs. It’s more of a animated huff, “but you are crying, sweetheart.”

Sweetheart sits in your chest and has your eyes welling up again. “Sweetheart,” you echo kindly.

“Yeah.” He sounds like he agrees. Like it’s second nature to him. You’ve called him worse. Like baby or lovely.

“M’sorry,” you giggle into his hand, kissing the curve of his palm gently. “Just really happy.”

“Happy?”

You nod and bring a hand up around his shoulder to tug him closer. You bring him in until your chest is touching his, a rumple of sheets between you. Your face in his neck, your shoulder under his arm when he hugs you back.

“You’re really nice, Jon.” It’s not what you want to say. You mean it but the words aren’t right. “Just, um,” You feel silly. “thank you for being so lovely.”

Jonathan has a suspicion he knows what you mean. He feels the exact same way. You’d treated him how he hadn’t expected and he hopes he’d shown how grateful he was for it. Still, he thinks he might continue his appreciation.

“It’s okay,” he says, kissing into your hair. It smells like the conditioner that you use when you're here. His conditioner. He smiles when he remembers when you’d spent the night. You’d used his shower and slept in his bed with him.

He rubs your back. Your shoulders and the space between them. Lines and patterns that have you both shivering.

You’re still crying. Because he’s touching you and it’s different. It’s soft and kind and he’s not doing it because he wants something else. You think he wants to stay here and do nothing but this as much as you do. Maybe even more.

You press your stuffy nose into his neck and sniffle. Jon holds you closer on instinct. You kiss his bare skin and feel his heavy pulse over your lips. “Thanks, Jon.”

“It’s okay, pretty,” he says.

You spend the rest of the day in bed because he wants to. He wants to hold you and he wants to kiss you just as much as you do. Maybe more. You don’t complain.

Argyle -> Quality Time

Loves to go on drives with you at least once a week where he makes a mixtape for every new week. Ends up taking you to the desert cliffs to watch sunset and cuddle in a mound of blankets when the stars come out.

Robin -> Words of Affirmation

Sometimes she get caught up in her rambles and trips over words when she gets excited to share something with you. Reassurance and compliments make her a mess, especially if you're just hanging out in your room. Nothing to try to distract you form the creeping blush crawling up her neck when you're laying side to side, staring into each other eyes.

Jonathan -> Gift Receiving

He lights up when you say that something reminded you of him and needed to pick it up. An extra canister of film or a band patch. His favorite, though, is a little mini-figure set of Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso. He has them lined up on his dresser top.

Billy -> Physical Touch

He's never going to admit it, but every soft touch or accidental bump sends a flurry to his stomach. His heart stops beating when you kiss jaw. Mind goes blank when you grab onto his arm and give it a light squeeze when walking home from a night out. Thank god it dark out, or he'd be a goner from how flustered he is.

Steve -> Words of Affirmation

He knows that everyone is only joking when they call him names. They don't mean to brush aside his ideas. Ignore his intelligence. But it still stings, until he comes home to you. Where you compliment him even still in work uniform. Whisper how much you love him against the shell of his ear. Eagerly ask about his latest interest and engage with his excitement.

Eddie -> Physical Touch

He's not used to people staying around. It seems like his life is a revolving door where people come and go. So when you lightly rest your hand on the small of his back, he always jumps a little. First out of surprise, but it then grows into excitement. A bashful blush paints his cheeks when you press your lips against them. He scrunches his nose with a smile when you nudge his with your own. Becomes a puddle when you trace the vein up his neck and then across his jaw.

Nancy -> Acts of Service

Nancy has to be doing something at all times, so sometimes she short circuits after a long day. Her heart gets all fuzzy when she sees the lunch you prepacked for her on the countertop. A wide smile brightens her face when you stop by campus to give her a coffee. She nearly sobs when you have her favorite record on for when you get home with dinner ready. Bliss relaxes her body when you rub her shoulders from carrying her book bag all day.

Stranger Things Tattoo + Piercing Headcanons | Steve, Billy, Eddie, Jonathan

Because I got my arm stabbed for 6 hours straight

Steve

I don't think he would really think about getting a tattoo?? At least not by himself. BUT if he is whipped, he will 100% get one of those "King & Queen" tattoos with his partner 💀 Suprisingly, he sat like a rock even though most would think he'd whine

As for piercings, I don't really think he'd get any. Body mods in general aren't really his thing

Billy

Based on the fact that he already has a skull tattoo, I'd see him as someone who would prolly get a full-sleeve with just skulls. He, too, sat like a rock even though he was dying on the inside

And for piercings, I just KNOW he got one nipple pierced 😭 But just one bc those hurt like a bitch and he couldn't bear doing the other one. We know he has his ears pierced, and I think he'd probably get a flat, a conch or an industrial. Plus silver jewlery only, no rhinestones

Bonus Points: He doesn't follow the aftercare instruction at ALL

Eddie

He already has some and would 100% get more, but at the cheapest fucking tattoo shop he can find 😭 So these are what I thought he'd probably get, based on what he already has

First one is the Metallica logo, for obvious reasons. But I think he'd get it bigger and on his forearm. The pentathlon, probably on his chest or upper leg and the skull would probably go between his shoulder blades but IMAGINE THAT AS A TRAMP STAMP 😭😭🤌 Also, I think he'd get a small D20 tattooed on his arm, but I couldn't find a pic that I liked. Also, I just KNOW he was squirmy and whined so much.

And for piercings, he'd get a few. A lip ring, a few ear piercings like a helix or a tragus and an eyebrow piercing. All with black jewlery

I actually struggled with this one, but then I got a cute idea that would fit him. He's not someone to have tattoos in visible places, so he'd get Will's birthday in roman letters on his ribs

As for piercings, he was already struggling with the rib tattoo so he never stepped foot into a tattoo or piercing shop ever again.

Jonathan would stumble through his words, his back somehow finding itself against the wall. Maybe he’s knock into a picture, something totally clumsy.

He'd want to kiss you, absolutely, but his tongue would feel too big in his mouth and he'd just stare because he thinks you - you?! - you're way out of his league.

He'd eventually nod, small quick actions that let you know yeah, he wants to kiss you too.

And in the back of his mind he's totally freaking out, but he can't show it. (the Byers boys are good like that)

Finally, when he eventually finds his voice, he'd whisper "yeah, please" in the most breathy and surprisingly needy voice you've ever heard

I mean this one is pretty obvious! You both enjoy photography and you listen to the same music.

Jonathan is an ISFP and you’re an ISFJ, they have similar vibes to them, only your less impulsive, you love having a schedule and planning, where as Jonathan can be a little all over the place.

I feel like the two of you would be on yearbook committee in school and thats where you’d probably meet. You two seem like the type of people that would instantly bond but be a little too afraid to talk at first. Definitely a little awkward.

You’d probably bond over music at first, you’d be listening to your walkman in the red room (the developing room.) and he would be beside you, hanging up his own photos to dry, he would hear the familiar tune of The Smiths, playing from your headphones and instantly perk up. From then on, he felt more comfortable talking to you, even hanging out, outside of school to listen to some of his records and tapes.

First Kiss would probably be after a dangerous fight with a demogorgan, I feel like it would be reminiscent of the kiss between Ron and Hermione. After you’ve gone through this hard fight, you exhaustingly and within an adrenaline rush, grab one another and kiss. It’s totally dramatic but it’s reminiscent of those hopeless romantic novels so I feel like its perfect.

You’d be super close with his family I feel like, it’s probably impossible not to be close with Joyce and Will though, they just are always willing to add a new addition to the fam.

I got a very androgynous vibe for some reason, so I went with that, I tried to think of like common clothes for indie kids in our current time, but I added the 80s flair to all of em I think. You also seem like a person that not only wants to be comfortable but also look put together despite comfortability. Hopefully that makes sense.

⭑ Steve likes it. It makes him feel like he can protect you more (don’t ask me why, he just told me. I’m only a messenger.) 

⭑ Puffs up if anyone bumps into you, “hey watch it!” 

⭑ Does the whole running up and jumping into his arms thing and then swings you around

⭑ If you’re in a fight then he’ll put things out of reach and give you the silent treatment 

⭑ Teases you only a little, but he loves that you’re shorter than him.

⭑ Call you “short-stuff” and ruffle your hair

⭑ He likes to lean on you and use you as a headrest 

⭑ But you tease him right back, “Hey Eddie, how’s the air up there?” 

     “Oh you mean the air that everyone else has? Yeah it’s good.”

⭑ You like to remind him that you’re close to his shin/knee and that shuts up right up

⭑ But if anyone else makes fun of you then he’s furious 

    “What did you just say about y/n?”

⭑ Hugs, Hugs, Hugs

⭑ He has an arm wrapped around your shoulder a lot of the time

⭑ Very aware if you can’t see over people, so he’ll wiggle you to the front and stand behind you

⭑ It makes him feel taller tbh - which he LOVES

⭑ Bends down to give you kisses

⭑ Endless piggy-back rides, that he mostly initiates

  And then he’s already bending down and waiting for you. 

⭑ Probably has started talking to a kid thinking it was you, and the kids like, “bro what?” 

⭑ Loves comparing hands 

 “Dang, you’re hands are tiny. What a coincidence-”

⭑ He towers over most people, so compared to him; you’re tiny. Like a hobbit but without the big feet. 

⭑ Always gets things off the top shelf for you 

⭑ And spooning is difficult because he literally just wraps around you. So you prefer to lay on top of him 

⭑ You may be little, but you’re fierce. (Hopper is still mega protective of you though) 

⭑ You have to stand on your tippy toes and he has to bend down if you want a kiss while standing up. Otherwise, you just sit on a seat and he’ll squat

OKAY WAIT. jonathan’s loser gf who gets overwhelmed at a party and calls jon crying to pick her up :( and he doesn’t want to go in because he hates parties but it’s his duty as a boyfriend to rescue his poor girl <3

you only go because robin’s going and she’s begged you to come. and of course you do. you don’t even attempt to ask jon to go with you because you know he hates them just as much as you do. maybe even more. and you wouldn’t put him in that position. you’re determined to have just as much fun without him!

eventually you get overwhelmed, the party is loud and there’s a lot more people than you were anticipating. you find the closest phone and dial his number that you’ve had memorised since forever. when he picks up he sounds half asleep. you curse yourself for waking him. jon? he has to wake himself more so he can talk to you. y/n, you okay? hearing his voice makes you finally cry. m’sorry for waking you up. he freaks out once he can hear your wet voice clearly, what’s up, baby? you okay? you shake your head like he can see you. it’s really loud here. i wanna come home. he gets up straight away. i’ll come get you. you feel awful. can’t you get someone else to come get me? you want nothing more than to be with him but you know he won’t want to be here. still, he says, i’m coming now. because he’s amazing.

he shows up and finds you sitting it the gutter next to the mailbox. wet face smooshed into your knees. he gets out and you startle a little. sobbing a tiny i’m really sorry, jon. and he just scoops you up and hugs you. really really really hard because he absolutely hates seeing his girl so upset. it’s okay. you’re okay. you push your face into his hair that smells like green apples. it’s grounding. m’sorry. it just got really loud, really quick. he kisses you all over your damp face. quick but still fond. let’s go home. he drives you back to his house and holds your hand the entire time. <3
