This is just me rambling and stuff, and this is the only way i could get out my monty brainrot and a little bit of yves brainworm out of my head, but just ignore it if it's cringe or too insane

I think with the way Yves would take care of me thoroughly and know me so well would unsettle me at times, but ultimately it would probably cement his place as a comforting and caring platonic partner in my head 😭😭 cause i know i would be thinking like "oh! He's so inspiring! I think he's the perfect role model for how i should take care of myself and love the people close to me ^^" <- absolutely missing the point and every romantic gesture i would misunderstand (what lacking romantic experience does to a mf) as something he does with other ppl, even though i would imagine that he's barely seen with anyone else than his darling :'); or maybe he would account for the fact that i misunderstand things? But i have a feeling that he would catch on to the fact that I'm a bit of a blockhead

Imo i think that i would choose Monty over Yves, despite everything that he did for me; maybe because he's done so much for me, i would probably feel immeasurably guilty even if he does say he likes doing it and personally, the power imbalance in both his material and physical qualities as well as the lack of vulnerability would intimidate me 🫠🫠 errr in a way, Monty I love so much because of how loving, protective and accepting he is, he's got characteristics that are close to my type!! (might also be the fact that to some extent, he can be controlled :3); he's endearingly trying his best and flopping a lot, but at least he listens to valid criticism 🥰🥰 he's... Cute... And maybe because of the food too, since receiving and giving food is a big sign of love for me <3 His messiness is a bit of a charm to me, because personally it takes a lot of guts and vulnerability to show someone how messy you are physically and mentally, or well, maybe its pity over the depression mess 😔 One thing i want to know is if he'll ever get immune to his darling's romantic and sexual advances and throw it right back similarly? Or is still gonna be giggling and kicking his feet on the bed over it? And i wonder how his reaction would be towards a darling that starts off meek and quiet, but gets more dominant and pursues him as well? Man, i want this guy pegged <3 And to get him pregnant <3 I want to give him backshots that make him better or worse :3

Anyway, this is also a way of grieving over not choosing Monty over Cyprus 😔 because i read Cyprus first before Monty and i regret picking him for the poll 🤧 but, I'm looking forward to any potential Monty content and how this silly guy locks in or flop <3

Well Yves does act accordingly to your personality. If you are pretty clueless BUT would accept him as your ONLY romantic partner for life, he would be extremely straightforward, cutting to the chase and be clear in what he wants the relationship to be (it was exhibited in Best and Worst of Both worlds)

But if he predicts that you will reject him or eventually cheat on him later in the relationship despite all the measures to stop you from doing so, he will remain platonic. And his prediction model is horrifyingly accurate. Mans will even reject YOU if he knows you can't keep it in your pants 💔

Hey Annon! I apologize for not replying sooner. I was avoiding PJO for awhile because of some conflict I had with some people, but I have been working on updating my Percy Jackson/Ethan Nakamura story. It won't be out any time soon, but it's been a couple years and my writing has improved a lot, plus there are scenes I want to add and change. I've been working on it the past couple of months. The new story already having 7,000 words and not even halfway through the outline I have. I can't tell you when it will be out (I have school and a job plus family obligations that I need to focus on) but I will get this done even if it takes me another six months to finish.

Thank you for the Percy/Ethan brainrot and ideas, and they were fun to look at, I didn't reply to any of it because I'm organized to an extreame degree and decided I needed to make a side blog for my PJO stuff before I could reply. Anyway here are some of my thoughts that have been long in the making.

1. That's such a cool idea. One that is really cute and sweet but one that I won't be including in this version of the story. Maybe I'll write another one with that detail, but I'm wierd like that and would deep dive the subject and end up learning about a very specific rural tradition about one village in an isolated prefecture and get so far off track from where I started. I'll keep the idea in mind, but my version of Percy and Ethan wouldn't do this simply because on the off chance that they get caught having similar iteams they wouldn't want to risk the safety of the other. In a timeline where the circumstances weren't as dire they sure would, but in this one? They already know what they are doing is very dangerous and any more risk could upend everything. Maybe I'll explore why they don't do it in the fic? IDK depends on how my writing goes.

2. Not at first they don't. They are so awkward in the begining and honestly cautious. Ethan because this is Percy Jackson someone with sometimes incomprehendedable strengths and powers, he wants to keep some distance, and Percy because Ethan could be a threat to his family and friends and he doesn't want them to get hurt. However after they get closer and start to realize any meeting could be their last? They hug all the time, stay in the others personal space, and soak up the presence of the other like it will replenish their strength. They don't do it in more public spaces though, who knows who is watching. However in more private settings they will be inseparable.

3. Them meeting multiple times on opposing sides before the Battle of Manhatten, mostly smaller missions and sometimes by surprise. Neither wanting to hurt eachother but knowing they have to keep up appearances. A new demigod saved from a hoard of monsters deciebed it like a deadly ballet. Both precise in the way they move, but sometimes almost manic in energy and controlled chaos. It was beautiful and unnerving and the new demigod would wonder what would happen if they even fought together on the same side. Of course no one would ever see them dance on the same side but it was just as much a beauty to watch them fight against eachother.

listen, i heard boom boom boom by the vengaboys last summer and thought this would be a song anakin plays on a ridiculously loud and uses to “serenade” obi-wan (who’s both confused and exasperated), so you’re definitely not losing your mind. let me reassure you. you're not. we're all brainrotting here and we all welcome it ✌️

that being said omg those lyrics tho. i did wonder who would be who. i feel like obi-wan is more likely to be the one to at least try to be with another person after being with anakin and breaking up for whatever reason but i don't see him falling like this and then (trying to) killing his ex sjsjsnsn. this level of obsession is more anakin’s forte. that being said i think an obi-wan who quietly seethes with jealousy is just absolutely delicious to me.

anyway!! yeah, i think it would be more anakin (or rather vader, really, if you closely follow the lyrics) chasing obi-wan. and the thought of that is devastating, isn't it. i wouldn't be able to (or even want to tbh) write something like this but yeah, i think vader would kill obi-wan and his potential new partner to make sure nobody else would have his former master if he himself can't have him. its a bit murky tbh because while anakin/vader do have these violent outbursts (anakin with clovis, and vader is, well, vader and also canonically kills obi-wan) but anakin (and by extension vader) (they're not separate people, im just trying to distinguish moments of his life sksjsnsksk) didn't physically attack padme over clovis, he “only” choked her when he first fell and was already steeped deeper in the dark side than ever before, therefore already more twisted and enraged and out of control. so there is still, i suppose, a fine line to walk between him not actually wanting to hurt the person he loves and him being so utterly deranged that he does (nearly) kill them. so it would depend which nuance you want to give to the setting and story. because i could also see him killing the partner but not obi-wan, and make this be a sort, idk, taunt? or threat and a promise that if he can't have obi-wan, he'll make sure nobody else will, but because he's also cruel and vindictive and possessive but in a way that makes him unwilling to actually kill obi-wan, he'd go for killing every person who tries to get close to obi-wan. which is just very fucked up and dark and very unhappy.

anyway, i dont actually know why i typed this all up tbh but even though im not usually into something like this (writing or reading-wise) it's still fun to sort of brainstorm it or something i guess??

well, yes, for starters, several of yours!! 💗 like when someone leaves a nice/heartfelt and/or detailed comment on my silly little fics i am quite LITERALLY screaming crying (and only metaphorically throwing up) about it. that shit does in fact mean the most to me and i wouldn't push myself to actually try and do things i don't feel very good at if people did not seem to want me to do it, so when people feel Some Type of Way after reading something i wrote that is the ultimate goal. i wouldn't write stuff if i didn't want whoever's reading it to connect with and remember it, so i connect just as much back when they do!

this is also gonna have to be time takes no prisoners. it is kind of a big first fic for me- longest, first top gun fic, first fic to rly get comments or kudos, most chapters, fic i am the most proud of, first series based work, etc etc- and the story (though obviously not my own, as it IS just a retelling of largely canonical events i can't take any credit for) means the absolute world to me. it's probably going to wind up being my fanfic magnum opus lol. it is always gonna hold a special place in my heart. i just adore this fandom and these characters and i just akdhdjhfjfhf love everything about the whole mav-is-bradleys-dad shit and the by extension found-family-w-people-mav-knows shit. it is just major *chefs kiss* for me <3

if i needed to give a more creative answer in the pre ttnp timeline (bc that is how it feels sometimes lol. there is pre and post ttnp/top gun brainrot and nothing in between), i'd have probably said all this effort to make it look effortless, which was the first writing of any kind i had done since like 2018 or something idk. i wrote and posted it last year, not too long before i began to write ttnp (it was actually right before i saw tgm at all), and it's for the world's most obscure fandom and it's very very self indulgent and i rly did just write it for myself, there's like under 50 fics in that fandom and mine has less hits than that lol. but i was and am very proud of it! (tho w the hindsight of rereading i hate the formatting so much god learn to use paragraph breaks what is wrong with you aaaaaaa).

1. historical or futuristic

I kinda love reading about history hahaha, and it was mostly fantasy in medieval settings that got me into writing, so this is a no-brainer. (Even my sci-fi shortie will have some dated technology🤣 for plot reasons, of course)

2. the opening or closing chapter

Mmm idk what it is about them, but endings always come to me naturally🥰 surprisingly with 'quiv it was both, but it was also meant to be a short story before it spun out of control🤷‍♀️ and though I kinda know where I wanna start Icy, fun fact! I have the endings for all three books down and detailed😇 I guess it's always the ending that draws me to writing a story🥺

3. light + fluffy or dark + gritty

how do you even separate them. Okay, when I first started writing I was all for the latter, but that changed quickly. 'Quiv has me loving it as much as I do especially because at its core it was a warmer, gentler story full of hope🥰

4. animal companion or found family

Before 'quiv, my casts used to be fully animal or >50% comprised of animal characters. Even now angel mannerisms are more bird-like in nature than human🤣 animals have always owned my entire heart❤ you've never known true love until you've had it curl in your lap🥺 Also, I'm all for the 'two people against the world' which doesn't really fit found families

5. horror or romance

Just saying, the Turning🤷‍♀️ and some of you might know I'm all about platonic love, soooo. Oh, and my sci-fi shortie will also be horror🤔 though I guess Icy breaks the mold and is a romantic comedy...

Can't really have dances and song as time and emotion magic feature as a hard system. And I like to surprise myself when writing too🤣 so no systems. Would make me anxious and 100% like all my plans I would *not* follow them lol

...not gonna lie, I'm really drawn to series🤣 but that's also how I got burnt out, and since 'quiv is my love, I'll go with standalones. They're a much different writing experience🤔 feel a lot more compact. There's no "later", and that hit differently and in a good way😳

I did try juggling. I really did. I said, if I get in the mood to start something else, then that's what I'm gonna do. But apparently only one wip can devour my entire mind at a time, and though I can brainstorm for the others, after a few hours I just yearn to go back to 'quiv, you know? It's complete brainrot🥰🥰

Character descriptions run the risk of turning into lists😬 I mean, settings also should. But for some reason they've also come more naturally to me, and I enjoy them loads more🥰 and lately I've started describing characters like settings, ie 'as beautiful as rain' 🤣🤣 but that's cheating. Also also. Let me just say. Star descriptions🥺 idk how angels in space came to me as an idea, but it was by far the best I've ever had. I have so much fun writing the setting💞

If final drafts are anything like, second, third, fourth drafts, then first drafts oh my god

Never seen the appeal about love triangles, but then again I'm not a romance person. Just give me two people loving each other deeply and it'll turn into 'quiv I'll be satisfied🥰🥰 and no, for the record, it doesn't have to be carnal for it to be love or soulmates to me

15. constant sandstorm or rainstorm

How can you not love rain?? For plot-related reasons or not, once it gets to the rainy season I really feel like it's restored some life to me🥰🥰 and rainy settings are godsends for scenes. That, and I've never been fond of desert settings

I feel like we're setting ourselves up lmfao I know these writers have mostly delivered so far but we're writing fanfic level possibilities and idk it seems most likely that they won't happen, I don't want to keep thinking of and reading these great soulmate epic scenarios because anything the writers do after that will pale in comparison let's be honest it is so rare that shows give us these true love vibes and also maybe more than vibes in the actual text (this has nothing to do with anything but isn't it hilarious that American tv is obsessed with sex and yet we barely get any decent romance as of late, romantic movies have become so far and few in between and everyone seems to think that they can't depict interesting relationships and dynamics bc people have brainrot now and seem to think shipping and fictional characters are somehow representative of what we condone in real life and not just idk fiction and fun) I'll never forget that "hope you manage to get your family out of star wars" post truly sums up the absolute absurdity of this whole 18th century puritan vibe, anyway here's to them exceeding our expectations.

I feel like they’d have to really drop the ball to disappoint me (and most of us honestly)! I’m usually pretty self aware and under control with my fic writing level theories lol. If anything, ND has tended to pleasantly surprise me with how much we get rather than the other way around, but I’ve been conditioned the hard way lmao. But like last night really showed that they aren’t ashamed to lean into their romance I think. It’s rare we get a quiet confession alone between main characters.

My motto is always expect as little as possible, hope for the best. I really think we’re going to be happy though. As far as the soulmatey vibes… 3x10 was already oozing with them, and I still think the “I’ll never leave you, sweetheart” thing has meaning that may come back again. Since I do think they are writing them with some soulmatisms already, a lot of the theories don’t seem totally out of the question to me. Romantic Nace is actually one of the main plotlines right now (which usually isn’t the case when slowburn shippers end up disappointed in my experience) so I do feel like something pretty good has to go down.

But everyone is different! Some people probably enjoy watching better without reading any fan theories or allowing themselves to expect anything at all. Everyone should do whatever makes watching the most rewarding experience for them!

The end of your ask reminded me how I was just joking with some friends recently that if we actually ship something hard, it seems like a rule that we don’t get a sex scene. Ships we don’t care two licks about then meanwhile mindlessly have minutes on minutes of needles sex scenes I hardly even pay attention to lmao. (Throwback to TW when Layden got what seemed like the longest sex scene on the show). I’m pretty sure Delena and Olicity are like the only ships I have that really had good ones. I really do think Nace will have some good shots when they get one though!

And you are also correct about the lack of good actual romance. There’s this trend of “ew, we don’t need romance in this” so we often get some half assed couple people don’t really care for or hardly anything at all. But like… ships are one of the things that most attract audience to a show. I personally think it has a lot to do with how romance is traditionally a genre that a lot of women enjoy and thus it’s just been looked down upon for years. Typical tbh.
