I didn't realise that I'm not uncomfortable being reffered to as particularly masculine or feminine, but that throwing out all assumptions about either is really the goal.

It's like the euphoria of being reffered to by different pronouns in the same sentence. Delicious.

This is from the Scholia (to an Implicit Text) of Nicolás Gómez Dávila, 1913–1994, the incomparable Colombian reactionary, previously mentioned in these Idleposts. I am just reading him again, for he is always topical, and better, he can be topical without ever referring to the news. He is habitual in stating the truth, plainly and persistently in a few words. That was the length of his ambition: he did not try for any kind of fame, and would not have been published, even in the few copies he had printed, had he not inherited considerable wealth, and had just the tiniest wee hint of narcissism. (Like me, except for the inheritance.) He never found the time to attend a university, though he helped to found one. He lived in a house wherein he collected a few tens of thousands of books, and for his research, he read them — in most of the modern European languages, and Latin and Greek.

The quotation above is rattling through my head, almost painfully. It explains, for instance, what is happening in Rome. We live in a time when the Christianity that influenced our minds through recent generations, has slipped almost out of circulation. Our 'clerisy' has, at its best and most inspiring, even at its most sincere, discovered a method by which Christianity will not recover.

The human Christ; the biological, fleshly Christ, who isn’t there: We cannot “recover” what was always beyond our knowledge.

But it will recover, for the reality is, Christ is God. Secretly, we still know this.

I have actually no idea where I would place myself on the kinsey scale if I had to. like yes obviously being a woman with two male partners is some sort of indicator but also these are basically the only two men I've felt any significant attraction to in my entire adult life vs. dozens of women and my batting average is just really good in one direction and awful in another

i cant get over how ‘next time’ sounds like the perfect ending song to the hatchetfield universe. either a bittersweet ending or for once, a happy ending.

i know there’s going to be a story planned where humanity finally wins and ngl i hope they use that song again cuz it’s so perfect for a last hurrah.

i would also start BAWLING if it’s ever used as a leitmotif in the final story cuz that would be such a gut punch straight through my heart 😭💕

hope y’all dont mind me sometimes post self-indulgent self-insert art with the lords in black cuz i genuinely cannot help it— theyre too silly for their own good and i just have the “what would it be like if they were real and if they fucking made the decision to melt my mind in the most annoying (affectionate) way possible” scenario thoughts

i keep thinking about the order of how theyre summoned and it made my brain go “what if that makes nibbly the second oldest and pokey the youngest” in a “whoever’s spoken next to wiggly is the second oldest” kind of deal and it just makes my brain short circuit in an.. odd way?? probs cuz it’s so hard to see nibbly as older and pokey younger.

it would throw me off so hard if that were the case that cuz that’d be so funny HAHAHA id still love to see an older brother who has nothing but feast and hunger on his mind and a younger brother who’s just dramatic and theatrical to draw everyone’s attention.

tinky and blinky will forever be the middle (esp tinky)

the best way i can describe it is.. selfship is basically the act of shipping yourself with a canon, existing character, it can be your persona, your self-insert, or your real irl self as long as it’s you being paired with a canon, existing character from a media or franchise.

oc x canon, on the other hand, is where you create an original character to be shipped with said canon character but the oc doesnt represent you as yourself. (i added this description just to give a difference between selfshipping and oc x canon)

one of my favorite things abt making my self indulgent selfship x lords in black art is trying to balance wholesome scenarios while making sure they still retain their evil asshole eldritch personalities and uncanny moments.

.. or just making sure they're still in character HAHAHAH im a person of consistency and accuracy after all 😎
