This is a PSA that Lex Foster canonically uses She/They pronouns (or at least Angela Giarratana headcanons Lex to. However, I think there's this sort of unwritten rule that if the actor headcanons something about the character they play, it is generally accepted as pseudocanon)

As you can see, it includes a couple compositional elements that I didnt include in the final render. My reasoning behind this was, because I am focusing on detail and colour work, I wanted the composition to allow the colours to stand out as much as they could! Specifically the spider web behind Webby there- I had it kept in for so long, but it ended up drawing the eye away from parts that I wanted to emphasise more. (Don't worry, the artist said I could change the composition!)

And then the final stage pre funky lighting:

This, with my usual mess of halftones, texture brushes, and blocky chisel tips. Then, to get to the final product, it was a matter of some strategically placed colour dodge layers, multiply layers, and a nice background. (This makes it sound so much easier than it was, the lighting itself took me about 3 hours, that fire?? Sophia's fire??? Took me TOO LONG)

Anyway heres a peek into my rendering process I guess.
