i had a ryuu angst fic planned but under the current circumstances (chapter 88) im writing fluff hcs bc gosh dangit dont we all need it

✦ i’m a strong believer that this man is so soft deep down??? like the first thing he did with rashoumon was make flowers CMON thats adorable

✦ it’ll take ages for him to even warm up to you and even longer to admit to himself he has feelings for you but once he does HOO BOY

✦ ryuu isn’t one to just mess around with a relationship. if he’s in a committed relationship then he fully trusts you and expects that relationship to work out please dont break his heart he couldnt take it

✦ i feel like it’s pretty obvious that he wouldn’t like physical affection at first. If youre down with that, then great! no problems here but if you’re more of the touchy feely type you’ll have to work your way up with small stuff first. Locking pinkies, to occasionally holding hands, to brief hugs, etc. it’s all about the baby steps!

✦ once he gets sort of used to affection, he really likes giving you hugs from behind. it’s less awkward for him because he doesn’t have to worry about you seeing how nervous he is and how red his face is

✦ definitely seems cold and distant the majority of the time, but will tell you how much he loves you as much as you need because he knows the power that words can hold

✦ his love language is words of affirmation. he needs a lot of validation (thanks dazai) but wont explicitly ask for it. tell him he’s strong and that he means the world to you and you’ll get a genuine ryuu akutagawa smile and honestly what in the world is better than that?

✦ he’ll remember even the smallest things about you even when you think he isn’t listening. for example, he knows the exact date when you broke your left arm during childhood and can recite it without hesitation even though you told him that story as an afterthought

✦ also picks up on your moods very easily. shows up to your house with your favorite flowers when he knows you’ve had a bad day or lets you vent to him when you’re angry. he’s a pretty good listener when he wants to be

✦ overall, he’s a bit of a pain in the ass at times but he’s trying his best so please give him lots of love he deserves it
