As for the storyline itself, I HIGHLY recommend starting with the manga first as it is very consistent and straightforward with the story! Meaning there is no extra info you need to consume to get the full story only fun little extras here and there sometimes, and the manga is considered the actual canon and what you will see most of the fandom referencing and talking about There are currently 31 volumes, 201 chapters and it is still ongoing! Meaning a new chapter releases every month (good to block the kuro spoilers tag if you dont want to see them)

The anime is still fun to watch but it is definitely way more complicated storywise and the reason for that is that the first 2 seasons were made when the manga was still in early chapters so they took notes from the creator of the various storylines and backstories that was planned and kind of created a different storyline with it, so I'll try to give you a concise rundown on what episodes follow the manga and what doesn't

Ahh, okay, well I only have a playlist made for Norway currently. So I can’t really use that as a reference. Them both being nations, I think they both listen to a fair share of older stuff, I don’t any nation- besides maybe someone like Hong Kong- would exclusively listen to newer songs. I will say, I think Scotland has a bias for songs from the 90s through to the noughties. I feel like Scotland is the one who potentially doesn’t branch out to newer music as much either, though he isn’t exclusively listening to songs from any time period. I’ll say Scotland for older and Norway for newer, but again, I think they’re both kinda a mix, and there are definitely songs in Norway’s playlist that are from before the 90s. Likewise, there might be songs on Scotland’s playlist from current years.

My say would probably be norway, I think Scotland is potentially better at managing having multiple hobbies. You can see every emotion that scotland feels very clearly on his face, if he’s upset he’s gonna scowl and if he’s happy he has a wide smile on his face. He’s also very verbal about how he’s feeling, sometimes maybe too much so. Whereas we know Norway is a lot more reserved, he has a permanent poker face and probably isn’t even the best at recognising his feelings and differentiating some feelings from others. I think it stands to reason, Scotland would be the first to confess.

54. Who’s the most likely to get stage fright?

Easily Norway! Scotland, I think, was almost born to be an entertainer, and maybe even performer. He has a natural gift for comedy, natural charisma, and is very charming. He’s comfortable striking up a conversation with just about anyone. Norway is a lot more shy. He tends to keep to himself a lot more, he’s extremely uncomfortable meeting and talking to new comfortable, even just someone sitting next to him on public transport can be enough to make him feel nervous. Norway is nowhere near a cowering wreck, and he’s extremely good as masking his discomfort, but generally he won’t become talkative around just 1 new person until after a few months, maybe even a year or longer of talking to them. So, I don’t think he would manage speaking on a stage, in front of anyone or everyone. I don’t think he’d manage to sing. I don’t think he’d manage to do much at all without feeling incredibly shy. He’d push through, though.

64. Who starts gearing up for Christmas first?

Uhm. Heavily depends. I don’t think Norway will process that it’s time to start getting ready for Christmas- or Yule- until after Finland’s birthday. After the 6th of December. Give a few days to fly back home too. However, I do think, once he starts feeling Christmassy, he does very much lean into it. The bright decorations and cheesy, cheery spirit of the holiday is a huge help for him during the very cold and dark Norwegian winter. Christmas for Scotland starts after he’s seen two things: 1, Aldi’s new Kevin the Carrot advertisement, and 2, the iconic irn bru snowman advertisement. I will say, Kevin the Carrot adverts do tend to start showing in November, but I cannot speak for the irn bru advertisement. But Scotland will refuse to start feeling Christmassy until he has seen the both of them!

so in my opinion the best way to get into the boyz is by watching their variety content! usually when i start out these guides i send people clips of their rtk performances but since you've already watched them i can just skip straight to the variety content <3 if you wanted another guide for like . song recommendations from their discography i can do that too! just say the word hehe <3 personally i started liking them because of their variety content and their endless out of context vlive clips LMAO but here's my starter pack:

it actually IS brief okay it's just 40 minutes because there's 11 members to get through 😭 it's from 2021 so it's a little old but i'd say it provides a really good basis for future the boyz exploration! you can get a pretty good feel of each of the 11 members and their little quirks from this video, and it's a good mixture of it being a serious introduction (showing them being good at their job) and unserious (showing them being literally just some guys)

optional viewing: the boyz flower snack

flower snack was like their predebut show where they were officially introduced to the world! they're like super young here and while i wouldn't consider this essential media (esp since they've grown so much since then) i do think it's a good pick-me-up because of how feelgood the show is :") it's definitely cringy at parts and you can tell they still have that trainee air to them, but personality-wise i don't think a lot has changed since then till now :"") they're still a bunch of dorks and some jokes are still mentioned now and then (eric doing watermelon cpr)

speaking of viewing pleasure. this is very reminiscent of the gen z photoshoots but instead of doing video format interviews they decided to do it through written form instead! here is the thread for all the translations, but a few are missing bc their accounts got deleted :( for the members that got deleted, i found hyunjae's, but i can't find jacob's anywhere :( but basically the entire format of the interviews were that the members would write the interview questions for themselves, and then they'd answer them. i think because of this a lot of them have spoken about how much they liked this interview, because it let them reflect on themselves a lot! they were also a lot more comfortable with this interview compared to gen z because gen z was like ,,, their first time every doing something like this, but with byok the combination of having experience and writing their own questions let them be a lot more relaxed in the process ^^

weekly idol eps to watch: stealer era | thrill ride era

the stealer era episode is just soooo ... JWJSADJFL like they start airing out their dirt on national tv (younghoon and sunwoo get the brunt of it) and for a bonus johnny and haechan from nct are special mcs in this ep! the thrill ride era episode is so cute lolll it shows the individual traits of each member so well... like eric is there being a social butterfly and golden retriever right from the start and then juyeon is just being thrown boyfriend material scripts so he can act them out with hyunjae LMAO it's just a total mess but it's very... them. they have a few other weekly idol eps from other eras so you can definitely check them out too, but personally the stealer and thrill ride eras are my favorites to watch and rewatch ^^

dive studio podcasts: kevin | jacob | eric | english line

this is just a lot of fun to watch! they're definitely a lot less serious than the gen z and byok interviews, but they're still a good insight into how the english members came to become a part of tbz! a lot of fandom jokes come from here (mostly about how eric is friends with his friend's dad, jeff) but overall it's just a good time! they are Just some guys /pos.........

there's another original come on the boyz series but i ... haven't watched it yet so 😭 i can't recommend it in good faith BUT the ones on here are stuff i Have watched and they're all very very cute :") tbz are like 1thek's sons HAHA so they have a lot of 1thek variety content but each one obviously has a different concept to it! they're sorta all in the name but personally my favorite is godsaeng :"") maybe cause it was the most recently filmed (and even though eric was still on hiatus during this time :( ) but it's just soooo fun and all the members are so goofy and lame and it just feels like you're watching a bunch of friends go on a 3d2n road trip together 🥹 the members' personalities really come out in all the installments and the editing is just so funny from the 1thek staff LMAO its just a lot of fun <3

“your friends were being a little intrusive, don’t ya think?” you know anything that comes out of drunk jaehyun didn’t mean much, ears red and words slurred beyond the point of coherence.

“nah, i just think you’re being extra possessive tonight, love.” you can feel jaehyun frowning into your neck and he agrees without missing a beat, saying something about just wanting you for yourself or a word that always sends chills up your spine.

“mine. you’re mine, you know that, right?” jaehyun mumbles, turning you around to meet him halfway on his lap. jaehyun bounces you like a baby playfully to the beat, and when you don’t answer, he just pouts, unconsciously swaying to the beat of the song that decorates the room. “are you not gonna answer that?”

the other doesn’t give you any chance to answer, leaning right forward for his lips to collide with yours. you can feel his jealously through the kiss, at having to accept another friend invite to what was supposed to be an initial date night. he’s reluctantly given in with a grunt, but now that they’re gone, jaehyun can show how frustrated he really was. jerking the chair forward, he presses you against the edge of the table, leaving you no place to go as he slips his tongue in.

bit by bit he gains back his sobriety, intoxicated mind coming back clearer and better when he tastes Laphroaig on your lips. mainly, because he hates whiskey, but more so that he can finally has your lips after suffering through four hours of board games and inside jokes. it was torturous. jaehyun’s brows furrow more when you pull away, and you look stunning, seemingly enhanced by the guitar of the tune.

your lips are swollen, red not just from party lights that dance across your face. “what’s gotten into you?”

jaehyun knows you’re only poking fun at him, but he feels suddenly embarrassed by the onslaught of affection that he goes straight for cover, hiding in the safety of your neck until he feels the familiarity of your laugh and the warmness of your kisses. he guessed a reschedule of your date night was fine after all.
