i did some math and as it turns out there's a total of 10296 combinations (which is like. a lot). you mentioned earlier that you'd probably just keep making the combos indefinitely until you finish... but that sounds like it'll take a while since there's just SO MANY. do you think you could make some sort of masterpost to keep track of all of the classpect combos? i just keep looking at them and there's so many and it's hard to keep track of all of them, so it'd be nice if there was some easier way to find all of them

hello Virgil when you have the time you should explain your coloring and lining process

they way i do both lines and ESPECIALLY color changes basically every time i draw but yeah sure! im also p bad at explaining myself so idk if this is gonna make sense to anyone but me!

(first off dont draw on pure white canvases!! itll psyche you out and intimidate you because of the blank canvas, also its fucking eye bleeding!! i like going with a medium/light grey but ive seen people use a beige or light brown too just anything but pure white. also helps to just get SOMETHING onto the page if your having trouble w/ artblock, doesnt matter if its good it just has to be something u can work with. trust the process 100% and if it doesnt turn out good theres no shame in restarting from scratch, at least the idea is out of your head and easier to work through what was wrong)

my sketches are usually super messy and i go through like two to four different layers of refining it before starting lineart, and with lineart i usually use either a simple hard round brush or a sketchier one if im doing painting? my go-to ones are the default G-Pen in clip studio edited a bit to fit how i like pen pressure and 1834113 and 1761353 in the asset store but i like messing w/ whatever i can find on there and whatever feels fun at the time lmao so its not very consistent

i try and keep my lines pretty thin on the inside and thicker on the outer edge? as well as adding bits of cross-hatching and hatching both in the lines and when i go in with shading!

i keep my lineart brushes pretty minimal with the pen pressure as im not the best with my pen control and just change the size of pen as i go lmao. More prevalent when i'm doing super clean lines for comics and not sketchy ones like this for painting but its generally the same, i'm not the neatest person when it comes to lines

I draw a lot of the individual parts (head, facial features, hair, clothes, hands, etc.) on separate layers so if something looks wrong i can either wipe the layer entirely or go in with the transform tool and not mess with the rest of the lineart in the process lol

(also i saw someone keep the eyes and facial features visible under the hair but erase where they meet the lines for the hair? and just yoinked it for myself because it looks super nice lmao.)

starting colors is almost always the same, where i just go in and block in the base color for each part (skin, hair, clothes, etc.) on a separate layer to make going back and editing colors a lot easier. with painting like here i also go in and add basic shading, mostly around the skin! usually i add a darker & warmer color around the cheeks, nose, eyes, fingertips and joints as well as in places where theres shading like under the head and under the nose.

also in the darkest parts of the shading like under the head/neck and under the nose i like to add a light bluish/purpleish color very lightly as a bounce light! it doesnt always fit with the piece but it does look very nice when i can make it fit so i try to remember to do that lol.

(I dont take many progress shots or timelapses so i apologize for not having the best reference images lmao)

if im doing painting, after finishing the base colors & light shading i put everything ive done into one folder and make a clipping mask over top of it and paint over it!

i usually add more detailed shading + heavier highlights on places like the nose and edges of the skin showing to make it look nice and shiny lol

(i dont have any recent drawings i can show progress pics of but just trust me on this) if im doing cell shading though i do the same thing with putting the lineart and colors into a layer, but add a multiply layer on top of it and pick a pretty saturated color to go in with the shading. if i have a background i try and keep in mind what colors are in the background and what the lighting situation is to make sure the characters blend into the background more realistically. also airbrush tool and the add glow layer is your best friend in this situation

usually after that i go back and color the line art! I pick the darkest color in a part of the drawing like the clothes or hair, make it warmer and darker and go in on the innermost parts of the lineart with it and keep a lot of the outer lines black for contrast

then i just go completely fucking ham with overlay layers and gradient maps lmao, they ARE the fucking best and are usually what i use to finish off a drawing lol.

usually i use a combination of just fucking with the default "sky" graidents in clip studio or one set i got from the asset store (1814319) on a soft light layer at like, 10-30 opacity because it gives it a REALLY nice look. again just keep in mind the lighting situation (darker night? daylight? funky bright colors?) and just go until it looks good lol.

that's basically it? though tbh i tend to just grab onto whatever technique or tip i saw on tiktok or someone on youtube do and use that, as well as changing how i color hair/skin depending on what i think looks nice at the time. none of my shit is consistent what so ever so i just kinda change things or try new brushes/coloring styles on the fly if i think it looks nice lmao. pure essence of fuck around and find out every time i open clip studio

He has nightmares frequently, not as much as Chan but enough for him to wake you up a lot, last time he had a nightmare your were slightly frustrated because you really needed the sleep but he took it the wrong way, he thought he was annoying but he couldn’t help it.

So tonight he didn’t wake you up at all, even tho it was one of the worst nightmares he’s had, so instead of waking up to him shaking you, you wake up to him crying. Looking around to find him you spot him in the corner of the room in a lounge chair curled up trying to be quiet.

“Hannie?? What are you doing?” You say while rubbing your eye to see clearer, “g-go back to bed.. I’m f..fine” he utters “you don’t sound fine come here please..” you ask him politely

He gulps before standing up with his hands cupped infront of him while looking down, slowly walking over he reaches the bed then climes in next to you without looking at you, sitting with his knees up to his chest while your down on your side propped up by your arm.

“Love..” You Start, “why wouldn’t you wake me up? I would have helped you..” you question, he looks over at you for a split second “I.. I didnt want to bother you again.. I thought I would power through it but I couldn’t keep quiet so I moved away..” he admits while looking over to you softly

You woke up to coldness, normally your relatively warm due to your boyfriend clinging to you, turning over to be met with nothing on the other side of the bed. “Maybe he’s using the bathroom” you thought but a quick glance at the bathroom to see no light on proved you otherwise

You slowing get up and make your way around the house to find your boyfriend, “lixie, where are you baby?” You whisper as u make your way to the living room. You hear a bowl clashing with a spoon, obviously your boyfriend.

Walking around the corner to see the dimly lit kitchen which your boyfriend sitting at the counter eating ice cream, walking up slowly he looks up from the bowl to glance at you, “hey lix what are you doing sunshine? So hungry you couldn’t sleep?” You giggled tiredly. Swallowing the ice cream in his mouth he starts to speak quietly “no..” you shuffled Next to him, “oh? Then why are you up??” You say while wrapping a arm around around his waist

“Uhm..” he starts “I had a bad dream..it’s nothing I needed to calm down..” you furrow your eyebrows slightly “why wouldn’t you wake me up then?” You say in a worried tone, getting up from your chair to walk over to the fridge while waiting for his response, “I didn’t wanna wake you, you looked so peaceful” you giggle while opening the fridge “all thought that is cute, you should wake me up when you get nightmares” you say while grabbing the whip cream.

Walking back over to him, whip cream in hand, you pop the can open to add more to his ice cream, he hums while you spray more whip cream in his bowl. “Still I didn’t know if you needed to get up early or anything.. just didn’t wanna bother you love..” you smile at him while spraying some whip cream into your mouth before putting it back, “babe it doesn’t matter if I have an early morning, you come first”

Finally finishing his ice cream he puts the bowl in the sink to clean later, “cmon baby let’s go back to bed~” he nods slowly due to exhaustion.

Seungmin

Seungmin does not have nightmares that much but when he does he’s always scared to go back to bed. Normally you stay up later than him for your own reasons, so when he hasn’t fallen asleep on your shoulder while u watched tv like always, you had to ask if anything was wrong

“Minnie moo??” He giggled at your nickname, he always thought that one was funny. “Why are you still up hm??” You tilt your head at him to signify the question “uhm..not tired” he awnsered quickly “well that’s not true, I can see it in your eyes, why don’t you sleep hm?” He gulps not wanting to admit his fear of something so silly. “Cmon why won’t you tell me if anything is wrong sweetheart?” You hear a whisper for your boyfriend but it’s not audible, “what was that sweetie?” “I said I’m SCARED” he admits quickly followed by him hiding his face under your arm since it was closest

You turn off the TV to have a proper conversation with him, “Minnie what happened..?” He shook his head at your question “did my baby have a nightmare??” He stopped his movements which gave your the awnser you need. “Pup..it’s ok nothing will happen to you yk..” “I know..” he mumbled.

Sighing at his pouty tone you lay down while his head is still stuck under your arm, grabbing the back of his head to lay it on your chest, making sure to not look at him so he won’t feel embarrassed. “Just lay here..I won’t look or judge I promise, just try and sleep ok?” He sniffed a little before speaking up “o….ok”

Smiling at your success you turn your head to the side to rest yourself, while slowly petting Seungmins back softly trying to tire him out.

Jeongin

He always wants to seem tuff towards you, even tho you have told him thousands of times that you don’t mind him being soft with you but he still chooses to not open up to you about “emotional” things like being scared of nightmares.

So when you wake up to him shaking in your arms you knew he was gunna deny it.

“Innie? Are you ok?” You ask half asleep, “yup.. just fine” he voice cracks at the end of the sentence, “I’m not believing that. Cmon what’s wrong?” “Nothing I promise..” you sigh at his stubbornness “fine whatever you say” you slide your hand up his shirt to rub his stomach softly, which you only did to calm him down.

“W-what are you doing…” he asks while grabbing your wrist slightly, “shh I know you don’t want to admit it.. but I’ll still comfort you anyways” you smile at the end of that sentence as you feel him relax, “I.. said im fine…yeah..” he says in a very tired tone. His weakness was always tummy rubs.

He drops his hand from your wrist, accepting your comfort which is a very rare thing, him being tired may have helped just a little bit, in the end he dozed off in your arms while holding your sleeve to make sure you don’t stop. In the morning he’ll deny him being “scared” at all.

its longform candid pointless comfort. its changing each others nicknames in the server, its making fun of a spelling error, its "fragging a noob", its a youtube letsplay of a game you thought you'd hate, it's meandering around your point and then stabbing it with ur own impatience, its feeding the trolls on your amv. its genuine interest in each other, hoping someone specific likes your post, being scared to go outside and being scared to stay inside. it's checking the comments against better judgement, its sampling their voice in your bgm. it's a combined pressure to be something the other person doesnt get, but does. its a very potent push&pull simultaenous in both directions. its "un"stoppable force vs "im"movable object. it's a puzzle & theres somethin very vital at the heart of it about turning around & seeing someone that sees you right back, like it or not. through a screen or through shades or eye2eye. inverted & subverted, exactly the same

it can be like 500 things at once, its so nebulous but always rly specific to them. you cant get this dynamic with any other characers, not in anything ive ever seen. unless u made ocs that act like em i guess. it is one of a kind

3. how you feel about your current WIP

tbh i'm not super confident about my writing any time i come out from from a long long hiatus of not posting anything. also like… i'm not super confident writing other charas aside from jamil since i don't really think ab them as much… (sorry leona-natics* whenever this drabble gets posted, but like fingers crossed the sitch will hopefully be exciting enough)

*i think it might have to do with the fact that i kinda hc leona on the grayspec++have more vv specific hc characterizations i like of him, but ig i do see his appeal (one of m'oomfs is a leona-natic and well ahu her propaganda might've been subconsciously assimilated)

but ahaha i tend to write things that i'm very personally interested in so i'll find a way to have fun with it, i'll be gucci i just get too into my head, it's a vicious cycle as a writer.

16. favorite place to write

uhhh im a very sedentary person, probably a result from the pandemic, and being a thorough homebody even after that

hmm i would say id like a nice ambient public place with coffeeeee my blood my life force Some amount of people engrossed in their own work, but like in the ph, esp in a place populated by a lot of uni students, cafes end up being hella cold (im skin and bones the cold is Evil)++noisy (which i don't see as a big bad thing esp since i like socializing with my friends...at the cost of putting off my own writing oops HAHAHA)

17. talk about your writing and editing process

oh boy. here we go. one thing to note throughout all this: my only consistent practice as a writer is inconsistency. (and ig, if i try hard enough, i can usually put out a passable 200-300 words in one sitting)

sometimes i can outline a fic and take forever chipping away at it

^^(case in point: that sebek x vampire!reader x silver fic... i joked abt waiting until book 7 would drop on EN but it has been Stuck. i wanna write bi-disaster sebek so bad though 🤧🤧)

other times my actual writing veers waaaaay into a diff plotpoint instead of what i have plotted out

^^(there're these 2 now-removed bullet points in wcidfy's outline for ch 3 that went: "do i have the balls to write a fever scene… gaguhan anhirap nito pag walang ob [tl: fuck this is hard (to write) without overblots]" and "i also keep thinking of a scene in the (scarabia) gardens…and lying about bees…weird")

and sometimes i can just shit out 1k-ish words unprompted.

^^though this last example leads to my most rough writing++editing ('ily but leave me tf alone' and 'no id rather pretend'), i only look over for immediate errors, but keep iffy-phrasings and repeated words, but sometimes i still miss incomplete sentences that i jus quickly fix after posting ahahaha.

in terms of my more "polished" writing, i edit as i write (<- i do Not recommend this style. it's very unsustainable if ur planning to do more conventional writing/publishing and it's very easy to get trapped in your writer's block)

and after finishing 80% of it, i try to get a second pair of eyes on it (thanks @jessamine-rose mwaps) because validation of works in progress feels good it also helps to have a trusted outside person look at the work with fresher eyes. also smtimes we get into bouncing ideas back nd forth that we spawn new brainrot lmao like this👇

i like to call my writing a "semi-polished first draft" partly out of self-defense and self-criticism. but really, i think i'd rather have "good enough" writing posted than "my best" because i could spend forever hoarding my wips. i think i'll always have regrets over not fleshing out certain beats/using certain phrasings and references, but i also enjoy looking back on my writing and seeing the incremental, microscopic progress. it makes the process more enjoyable than self-flagellating.

on a personal note, the writing workshop scene can be brutal. with some criticism being needlessly harsh, sure it produced some of my "best" writing but the process was Not Fun. while i get that being able to revise meaningfully is an important thing, i think the endgoal of feedback (from my short exp of betaing for friends) shud always be aimed towards uplifting the writer's aim to create/improving the writer's vision of what they wanna achieve, especially in a craft that is as solitary as writing. wait ill rb a post about making ur shitty pots, very in-line with making art in general

29. how easy is it for you to come up with titles?

very hard. i hate thinking of titles, thats why i yoink lines from songs (who cares if the vibe doesnt fit im adding layers of interpretation or sumn🥴🥴). ACTUALLY wcidfy had like 3 other possible names (it was either *rolls out list* hairtie, nonequivalent exchange, or ben franklin effect* wcidfy was the most bearable one.) *i tried to look up how to distill the psychological phenomenon of someone probably liking u more after u do a small favor for them into 2-3 words, but it had to be a WHITE MAN'S NAME 🤢🤢NAW!!!!

for few other examples:

'say what you mean' was initially titled 'oh how the tables turn'

'roommates? more like roomfoes' was first titled 'pet peeves'

'hypothermia' was first titled 'frigid' but then i thought of paradoxical undressing nd stuff and da pseudo-warmth

i've also moved a bunch of other plot beats from wcidfy's main document into a file called "part 45678 of wcidfy"

as u can see i prioritize making myself laugh wid my wip titles. i wanna put the illusion that my writing's not that serious. unless it is? idk i'm not sure how to describe my writing in terms of its vibes.

But one day… a transferred student went to their class and introduced as ‘Y/N’, people loves her so much because of her sweet bubbly personality, she is always helpful to others and shows respect to those who is older than her, she gets along with everyone pretty well exept Jungwon… Whenever she tries to talk to him, he simplify told her t go away or he is not interested to make friends but that didn’t stop her. Everyday, she would be waiting for him at the gate and would often greet him, she would talk random stuff and ask silly questions, Jungwon is curious… why would you want to talk to him or eager to be friends with him? • Being the kind hearted person Kazuha is, he'll make sure to take care of you perhaps even stay back behind to take care of you if you are part of the crux!!

• As a wandering samurai, im pretty sure he has to take care of himself a lot before he had met Beidou so he is quite and expert when dealing with simple symptoms of sickness. If it's a high fever, he'll go to Baizhu to get medication and feed it to you! <3

• If you are very conscious about getting him sick even if he says it's okay, he'll write little poems for you and even draw a small doodle of himself as well as leaves! (ps. His drawing skills aren't really good but his words in his poems definitely make up for it!!)

• "Kazuha , these are uh really nice hearts that you drew..!" "My dove, it meant to be leaves.. But if you think it's a heart then it can be as well."

• Kazuha may seem like a rather calm person outside but he is interanally panicking inside if he is doing enough since he is scared that your health would get worse because he isn't taking good care of you.

• If you're symptoms tend to get worse, please reassure him it isn't his fault or he might actually start panicking and trying a bunch of medicine that he learnt on his travels that he thinks might help.

• Overall, Kazuha really someone who would stay by your side even if he isn't a professional doctor he is really genuine of taking care of you <3

SHIKANOIN HEIZOU

• The best detactive Heizou is almost never called in on a sick day, after all missing one day could mean missing a lot of clues and cases he might find interesting.

• Now when he heard you were unwell, let's just say he doesn't really know how to take care of you </3 and he may or may not have fed you the wrong medicine..

• "Heizou, i think that is the medicine if I'm having if im having problems with.. Releasing gas." "Oh." (you told him that when he just fed you a spoon full of it, you had problems with your stomach a few days later after you got better..)

• Heizou would definitely try to cuddle with you in bed if you are having a headache or having trouble sleeping, of course while you're asleep he might try to think of ways to help you feel better faster. He hates to see you lying in bed all day since he wants you to go on many cases with him all around inazuma!

• He'll try to crack some jokes while you're in bed to keep you entertained while you're recovering. (his jokes are kinda stolen off from google but the fact they are overused makes it funny LMAO)

• Unlike Kazuha who is a wandering Samurai, being a detective requires a lot of time so Heizou always has to leave very early in the morning so he can come back earlier to take care of you though do expect a little note with a few puns and overused jokes next to your nightstand.

• Once you've gotten better, Heizou might have to work extra hours because he did runaway from the tenryou commission to take care of you do if he arrives home late please do welcome him with a hug <3

• Heizou might not be the best at taking care of you but he is willing to sacrifice himself to make sure you're healthy and happy <3

ANOTHER MERLIN RANT. ok i have to admit there are a few plot holes in merlin, the cgi would give you nightmare and they have never heard of historical accuracy and somethimes that characters act in ways whih i think are out of character. However, i love it.

There was one example os such a thing where is season 5 merlin was ledt alone in these tunnels, unconsious and hurt. Arthur was wounded and unconsicous also so he isnt to blame. In fact before he got hurt he was looking for merlin but what about the other knights?? Gwaine especially who said in the past merlin is his one true/only friend. He has protected merlin even when he got banished for it. The other knights are also his friends, why would they leave him? After dedicating everything to his Kingdom? Granted they dont know that but he lived there for 10 years!

I struggle to believe why he was last seen in the caves with everyone leaving and then there was a cut scene to Camelot! Ok it could be a filming error where they didnt realise they made it appear as if they left him but it rly doesn't seem that way! Imagen you risked ur life to save ur friends. You have traveled days in snowy mountains with barley any food and water, u were captured by bandits, escaped, broke into a castle of a dangerous enemy (morgana and her men) fought ppl and went back as a distraction, then u saw ur friend (arthur) threatened so u run to help him and u get throw into a rocky cave wall. Ur now fading into unconsiousness and the last thing u see is ur friend being threaten with a knife.

This is what must of happened after. You wake up. There is no light and bodies all around you. It is deathly quiet. U have a possibly bleeding head and are all alone. All the ppl u risked ur life for have left u. In enemy territory. Imagen the betrayal and sadness. Except merlin doesnt do anything. He is back in Camelot in the same episode. NO ONE, remarks on his being left. Did they not notice or just not care? What would feel worse. He travelled all the way back, days, all alone. How loyal he is, how sad he must be. I don't think his closest inner circle will have left him. No matter how they sleem slightly to have drifted apart in the last season or two.

Its horrible, not even mentioning one of the next episodes where Gwen, one of his closest friends previously (again drifted apart) accused him of Murdering Arthur and everyone just .... went along with it? Belived it? The pain that no one belives u, trusts u. He served arthur for 10 years, he has publicly risked his life on numerous occasios. he is the only one to speak plainly to arthur without a filter and trys to get him to show emotions (except gwen his wife, but even she is more respectful and timid in this way). How could his closest friends belive he would hurt arthur and condem him to death. If Arthur hadn't woken, merlin would have been executed by his friends. Gwen, who he has saved and risked his life for on multiple occasions.

Fair enough, shes possessed but why wouldnt the others refuse, stop her?? Its too out of character or, merlins friends rly dont trust him enough or are gullible. I lean more towards gullible/oblivious cause no one in merlin seems to see his obviously golden eyes and accept Merlin's or Gaius's excuses. Thats a horrible feeling for merlin, actually for anyone. That the ppl u would die for wouldnt do the same for u, they would infact do the opposite. Again arthur is in a coma cause of the poison he could do nowt.

i did enjoy it! im gonna ramble for a bit about it now

so the version i played was the steam port and its absolute ass do not ever play that one, my desktop is ~10 yrs old and can run any new game on it however da:o continuously crashed and had massive rubber banding issues (which it rly shouldnt since its not a public mp game that needs a server??)

i dont even know what ending i got bc my game crashed during the final cutscene and skipped it all 😭

also there were so many bugs that i dont think other versions of the game have since my roommate and my coworker both said they never got the issues i got. heres a list of some of the bugs i got-

1) i forgot to harden alistair (oops) and so i didnt make him king. i made anora queen. after i made anora queen all alistairs dialogue was him excited/anxious about becoming king.

2) every romance cutscene had graphical corruption and only my wardens model would be moving. so deadass its alistair A posing while the world was fucked and didnt play the animation properly. my camp looked like this most of the time

3) i did morrigans deal so then the wardens wouldnt have to die during the final boss, i beat the final boss, the cutscene right after it everyone is saying alistair died. im so sad. i go and talk to all my other party members and specifically after talking to wynne alistairs model appears and hes totally fine but hes still talking like he was just crowned king (he wasnt)

4) i leave the final cutscene room to get my epilogue and my game hard crashes, no error prompt, and it deleted my save that i had just made in the room so i dont get my ending "this is what u went to do after everything" cutscene

tldr im gonna replay it on my roommates xbox as buffy summers so i can see a non bugged version of the game lmao

didnt watch wednesday when it was the thing on here, but i did watch it today because i had some suspicions about a video that came up and yeah. people dont have any media literacy </3

"oh no they brought up social media" yeah, and? compared to other shows wednesday actually does a really good job with it. it doesnt feel dated nor does it feel in your face, its well balanced.

"why is the school of outcasts not nicer to each other?" were you not paying attention. yes the point is that they SHOULD be nice to each other. this isnt an error it was a choice of writing.

"why are they giving the child and parent conflict. i understand why for narrative reasons but theyre meant to be a good family" did u miss the part where they ARE a good family. wednesday was just being a teenager the family clearly loves each other very much.

"omg wednesday brought up the patriarchy ermm doesnt she know people can just choose to be nice?" yes, the point is that she made a comment widely detached from the reality of the situation because she is bad at understanding others.

listen i dont know anything about the addams family, so i cant give commentary on that. but damn people will really be out here picking apart shows for things they completely misinterpreted. anyways things i have been liking about it so far

i am very not intelligent so perhaps this isnt my place to comment but i really like the mystery so far. i like how everything has been flowing into each other, nothing feels too sudden and is progressing at a steady rate. very cool.

although this is a show set in highschool, the way characters interact with each other feels very refreshing. its probably less realistic than real life actually, because characters open up with one another and communicate clearly, so you cant even be like "ermm why dont they talk to each other??" its subtle but i think its really subversive in its own way

tying into the previous point, all the characters have felt well rounded. each of them have some level of intruige around them and there's never any person where i roll my eyes like "oh no its THEM" i really like the cast all around.

wednesday is a great character. i mean. some people will find her annoying. but she is very intruiging to me. if i met her in real life i would wanna be friends with her. i like every time she starts talking about any of her interests im like girlll i soooo get u yess its time to disect animals

the character conflict that i find most annoying is that the other characters dont rlly understand wednesday, but thats probably the point. i am just neurodivergent so when i see her i go ooohhh yeah absolutely. why dont these other guys get this get her a guillotine she is soo bored

the set design is SO hdjsbdjsjsisns its so much its too nuch i love it. wednesday and enid's room fills me with delight every time i lay eyes on it. sooo good.

im gonna go into detail with this so imma shove it under a read more

so honestly i kinda cheesed it with the hat and also did it in the most convoluted way- i already owned a hat with a similar shape, one of those sailor captain hats u can find anywhere. loved wearing that thing. but anyway i removed the bit of rope and the buttons it had, then went through the very long and painstaking task of gluing fabric onto the whole thing. this required a lotta measuring, a lotta trial and error, but i eventually got there! i pretty much just cut out the pieces and layed them over the hat in the right positions.

the gold bits on the sides are just half of one of those metal button things u can get from craft stores, and the gold strips + emblem are a metallic gold card. the emblem itself i made by tracing over the game model, transferring that trace onto paper, tracing the paper onto gold card, then cutting out each piece and gluing it to the black disk i made (somehow this took me like 4 hours, dont ask why). i then just glued the whole thing to the front of the hat!

now the headphones- i was actually really lazy with this, ive been desperately wanting to make proper LED headphones with the right cables at the back but... i never really get around to it, i dont know the first thing about electronics in cosplay 😔

SO! with the con rapidly approaching and me running out of ideas, i resort to something i know i can handle. i buy a cheap pair of bluetooth kmart headphones and get to work. so i found that spotlight stocked this very thick.... foam, card? im not sure what it is exactly, but i had to use a stanley knife to cut it. i measured and cut discs out to attach onto the sides of the headphones, then added a layer of yellow card on top.

the pointy part of the 'phones is a cut piece of that thick card glued onto a piece of foam (the floor mat kind) for stability, and then i just painted the glowing dots on the front of the card with acrylics. i had to wear the headphones with the handle going around the back of my hat so that they didnt fall off, and since i would be adjusting them a lot and knew the "ears" might look wonky i decided to attach a patch of velcro to the side of the headphones and the yellow disk so that i could easily change their positions if they got crooked.

so yeah! they may not look the best, and theres always things i can improve, but i did put a hell of a lotta hours and love into em. i hope some of this can help u! and if u can make ur cosplay, id love to see it !!

hello! i think i remember you saying you have a degree in english (if i hallucinated this, please feel free to disregard this ask). this is probably a very silly question, but do you find what you learned from your degree to be helpful when writing fics? or is it mostly not applicable to what you write? anyway, i hope you're doing well! i really like your mr robot works! :)

yeah i do have an english degree!! wow i cant believe u remember that lol. to be honest im lazy as hell and really slacked off throughout my degree... like i read maybe half of the stuff i was assigned lmfao 💀 despite this i managed to get really good grades, graduate with honours, get into a top grad school etc. i was always wayyyy more interested in theory than in literature itself. honestly i think a lot of the "greatest books of all time" people usually mention are either straight up trash or at least overrated as hell. i didnt really learn much from them writing-wise.

the big thing that got me into writing was roleplaying, actually. i used to be in the homestuck fandom (lol) and i was on either msparp or cherubplay every fucking day from ages 13-16. i was addicted to roleplaying lol, i probably wrote like 3-5k words everyday back then. i started writing fanfic but not publishing it around that time as well, and then wrote my first berserk fics around 16-17, which is how i got started on ao3.

in middle school/most of high school, me and my best friend were NOTORIOUSLY the most lazy people in our grade. like she literally pretended to have a learning disability throughout all of elementary school because she didnt want to do any work lol. anyways, in high school, i would literally arrive at school, sleep through my first class, skip the rest of my classes until lunch by either hiding in the library reading fanfic/manga or (if it was warm enough) SLEEPING OUTSIDE ON THE FIELD LMFAOOO, go to lunch, go to my english class in the afternoon (only class i liked), and then spend the rest of the afternoon at starbucks on my laptop roleplaying. i think i had like 90 absences in my first semester of grade 9 lol. i really didnt take school seriously because i knew i could just study for 30 mins before a test and get an A, so my grades were always high anyway-- and then i let my friend (the aforementioned extremely lazy one) copy off me so she didnt flunk out of school.

anyway, in grade 10 the teachers started to get sick of my shit. by this point i was pretty brazen about how much i didnt give a shit about school-- i would bring a blanket to school to nap with, showed up to class drunk, sold cigarettes to people in the parking lot, all sorts of shit. one day i was sleeping in the library and i woke up to the principal standing over me telling me he needed to see me in his office. they basically gave me an ultimatum: either i got my shit together and started putting in effort, or they'd have to start giving me suspensions until i was eventually expelled. i really considered dropping out of highschool at this point. instead, i did all my remaining classes needed to graduate through this online course site-- i did about 2 years of school in 2 months lol. i applied to university on a whim and got in. i was 16 when i started university.

in uni, my schedule changed drastically, and i had less time to roleplay. this is when i started writing fanfics. im not sure if i have a "style" or anything really (maybe you could tell me if i do), but any skill i have with writing comes from those years of roleplaying + lots of fanfic reading. id say the only thing (writing-wise) i really learned from my degree is how to proofread for grammatical errors and what i DONT like/find to be lazy writing.

hmmm idk if im a good person to give advice but lol whatever i will!!

for the basics, i would recommened starting with a masterlist and rules, and you can build on other navigation stuff after that. a pinned post usually draws ppl in, bc its easy to navigate your blog!! and then just find a theme. i did a toga in the beginning and now a hanako theme, bc they are one of my fav characters, but u know there are tonnnnsssssss of themes and u can do whatever u want to! have fun with it 🥳

^ let me know if u need help figuring out how to link things, add colored/special fonts, banners, dividers, ect. i had to figure out through trial and error and that sucked LOL

in the beginning, dont expect to get many notes. if you go into it thinking about notes, you are going to get dissapointed lowkey. just relax, its not that deep, and eventually ppl will find your account with time. dont rush it!! but like i said, dont prioritize notes. i still am struggling with it, and so r other writers. it doesnt define ur writing at all. i had a one sentence post get like 3k notes, and then a 14k fic get like 400. literally notes dont mean shit, tumblr is weird.

also another thing. dont expect to get anons. or at least alot of them. in the beginning i had like no anons and i was lowkey kinda sad about it. but im telling u, as ur blog gets bigger u will get some. its nice to have anons in the beginning, but kinda unlikely. if smaller blogs r seeing this with tons of anons, good for you!! just idk didnt happen to me lol.

moral of those 2 paragraphs: i just dont want u to ever feel bad about notes and interactions. u may see other blogs get tons, but they have been established for alot longer than u. so do not stress about it plssssss. ive seen too many blogs make themselves feel bad because of notes and anons. and including myself, i would get unreasonably sad over something so fucking stupid.

big one: write for urself, not for others !!!!!!! once kinktober is over im bout to write an ungodly amount of hybrid and a/b/o shit, which alot of ppl dont like, but fuck it LOL.
