2017 Sacramento Indie Arcade Keynote Speaker: Michelle Hill • • We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker, Michelle Hill, for the 2017 Sacramento Indie Arcade! • • A former 2013 IGDA Scholar, Michelle Hill studied animation at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She is a former animator of the indie game Outer Wilds, which has won two International Games Festival awards for Excellence in Design and the Seumas McNally grand prize. I am honored and proud to have played a small role in this year's @codeforhood event in West Sacramento. This particular program gives me chills each time I see the kids share what they have learned and created in 72 hours. The work that @hackerlab & the volunteers do speaks volumes in terms of doing for the youth what our public school districts are not always able to provide. Thank you to local government and sponsors for believing in these kids and recognizing what the future is and how tech can help change the conversation.
