Memento Mori is a common mantra for those of us who accept our inevitable physical death and the deaths in our life that can be emotional, mental, metaphysical, or otherwise. I also find that ignoring influences that don’t align with your inner truth, also helps us accept the endings, beginnings, and transformations in life. I don’t mean ignoring as in turning a blind eye to important issues or refusing to look at a situation objectively even if you don’t agree with it because I don’t believe in the ignorance is bliss bullshit. Ignoring what isn’t worth your time and energy is the equivalent of setting boundaries and knowing what is and isn’t worthy of you. It can be misconstrued as self-righteous, especially by those who see your time and energy as something they have a right to possess or control (and then have the audacity to justify that manipulation). Let’s end shaming another person for setting boundaries and making choices for the betterment of their life, whether it seems selfish or not. Getting old is tough if you let your mind take you there. It is easy to go down that path but I have found that getting out of my comfort zone and learning from people who are where I want to be have really pushed me to work towards more. It isn’t easy but it is great to stay on your toes and simply live from within yourself. Two things I’m working on now: 1⃣. Choosing to go Gray! 😮 has been scary but I’m taking it one day at a time and loving my new found headband craze ;) I love how they help the process. 2⃣. Working my own business no matter how scary it might be. It has truly made me more confident. I have big goals and dreams and why not? I’ve constantly told myself I’m not good enough and that my dreams aren’t that important bc I’m not worthy. Why do we do that to ourselves? If you are like me and have had those thoughts over and over again, find a way to get out of that head space. We all can do what we desire. So what if I am told no a thousand times? That just means I have more opportunities for someone to say YES!
