I know that the Grand Prix has passed, but I just wanted to translate the teams so that all Ikemen Series fans can get to know other Ikemen from other games! Images of Teams are screenshot from the official page. I will put the full name of the ikemen, but the website only lists their nicknames.

Personal Thoughts:

First off, thank you for adding in the older games such as Ikemen Oukyuu. I was a bit shocked that games like Ikemen Yakyoku and Ikemen Live were NOT included in this line up, and the sheer amount of Ikemen Vampire and Ikemen Genjiden entries in the lineup... Also, I count Ikemen Oukyuu and Midnight Cinderella as the same thing as a rebranding, so.. yeah, I get that they have 11 series of games, but I feel like they could've added the poster boys from Ikemen Yakyoku and Ikemen Live too.

The voting session was a real surprise, but I also was surprise by the character choices too. Anyway, good job Cybird for this event, and I hope the next event would be similar to the Ikemen Series Idol Edition in 2016.

Hyuuga is kind of your fake big brother~ (๑•́ ₃ •̀๑) Ikemen Ooku is set in a world where the shogun is female. You are someone who looks identical to the current shotgun, Iemitsu Tokugawa, and Iemitsu forces you to be her decoy so that she can run away from her duties for a month… Hyuuga is Iemitsu’s very gentle and protective half-brother~♡ He’s been away for many years due to illness and has now come back, and is quite surprised and proud of how much more mature and responsible his little sister (you) is behaving now! Iemitsu is infamous for being very very brash, immature and spoilt, while you are the complete opposite. You are, of course, not the real Iemitsu but still you can’t help feeling all warm and fuzzy around your Hyuuga ani-ue and so things get complicated…

Anyway, I redownloaded Ikemen Ooku (Traditional Chinese version) over the weekend! XD;; This time onto my iPad. My game account is still there, but the game is pretty dead. They haven’t had any new events since at least the beginning of 2018… Their official Facebook has also been very quiet for a very long time now. Everything in the shop is listed as being on sale till 31 Dec 2019. Wonder if that’s when they’ll end service??

When I first played it, I did get halfway thru Hyuuga’s story but then I somehow lost my account (can’t remember how now) and had to start over and that was when they’d pretty much stop updating the game… Anyway, I then deleted it coz it was taking up way too much space on my phone for a game that isn’t even voiced! It was over 2GB! I really miss Hyuuga ani-ue though, so going to try to finish his story this time with the help of a guide to get the perfect score for his route!

First - there is new MS of a blond guy with angelic smile coming to Ikemen Vampire. He will be in the top 20 on the Ikemen Election (my guess). His name is Vincent Van Gogh. Meet the Vincent

What do you think of him? Doesn’t he remind you of Ieyasu + Mitsunari? He is kind and gentle and he will be popular. Take a look at screenshots of his MS PV!

Ive told you that Ikemen Vampire is for grown ups. As far as I know, he is emotionless since he was a child so you can guess how the story goes..? I like sweet guys. Although Mitsunari MS was so heart warming and I loved it so much, I still love Ieyasu. Will Vincent make me want him? Will he paint Sunflowers for me? I’ll find out soon!

Second - a guy with silver hair - Shoin Yoshida on DtL / Bakumatsu

Who can you think of a guy with silver hair on Cybird? Kenshin from Sengoku or Ewan from Loves, Lies and Heists? Has Leo from MidCin got silver hair? Maybe Leo is a ginger… We gonna have a new dude on DtL! Here is a screenshot of Shoin still from his BD story. (Yes I bought it for his silver hair and beautiful kimono)

If u play DtL, you will be surprised to find out that I (the MC) will travel back again from the Bakumatsu time to 5 year earlier in order to save this man’s life. He wants to destroy the system and Kyoto. I cant be botherd to explain plots of Doran series atm, so pls find out yourself if you are interested! Doran series consist of 4 parts with 4 new character on each story. There are 3 guys on each story and there are 3 ends (only 8 chapters). i.e. the last part of the Doran series will be Shoin, Takasugi and Kyo.

A guy with glasses - Sasuke is around the corner? Prob after Kenshin BD?

You know a kind of character who pops up after reading MS chaper and says “Oh you don’t have enough story tickets, do you wanna buy some?” Or when there is avatar mission, he tries to make you feel like you are missing out if you choose normal avatars. Sasuke has been one of them. But he is given a bigger role this year rather than hosting events and encouraging us to spend money here and there!

Febrary event and Ikemen Election 2018 update

What most important to me is that my favourite character KEI from Sleeping Beauty in the Suite Room is having his BD and we are expecting his BD story event.

Kei is extremely tsudere like Ieyasu. He is too shy to tell me (the MC) that he fancies me and 2/3 of the MS is all about Kei ‘trying’ to ask me out lol.

Kei doesn’t unify Japan but he is a supermodel. His trauma with girls go es back to his childhood when he was bullied by girls for being fat and the girls suddenly fancied him as he got skinnier and taller. He is a kind of a guy who stands by wall and becomes an ornament at parties. His drawing is so bad that no one can understand what he draws. Im sorry Ieyasu, you had your BD month and received a lots of my attention last month. Do you want to see how he looks? Fine!

When he is on tsundere mode “What are you smiling for? I don’t get it”

Of course Im voting for him for the Ikemen Election!

So when is the Ikemen Election and how does it work?

The election will be happening between 14th and 28th Feb all across Ikemen series. It’s like collection event happening ALL Ikemen Series. You login, raise your grace by doing lessons and read main stories. You get ballots and vote for your favourite guys! 5 guys from each game were chosen last November by Twitter.

ikemen genjiden lost to ikemen prince in getting a global release but at least ikemen genjiden will not suffer from the mischaracterization. how does victory feel, seeing a version of your favorite character you do not agree with? :D

Hello Anon, I don't know where or how you got the idea that I see IkePri as "victorious over IkeGen" and that IkeGen "lost in getting a global release". If anything I think you're forgetting about the existence of IkeLive and other titles such as Shin Ikemen Ooku, 100 Days Princess, and Sleeping Beauty in the Suite Room (a.k.a IkeCeleb) that didn't even get a localization before IkeSen too. FYI, "Ikemen Live and 100DP has been discontinued from having new content" is not a valid argument because Shin Ikemen Ooku and IkeCeleb are still getting new events and consistent updates. Of course they do have reruns too, but it's not like any of the other titles, IkePri and IkeGen included, doesn't have any reruns now does it? 😂

As for the mischaracterization of characters... after a little over a month into IkePri ENG and experiencing the "changes" done to them which were not entirely in the good sense, I would like to use this opportunity to point out how...

IkePri ENG finally got Nokto's character right in his *1st Birthday Story in His POV!! The Actual Nokto true to source material (the same Nokto as JP & TW Nokto) finally made his cameo in the ENG localization!!

*Note: I only got His POV in the ENG ver so I can't comment on what the normal POV is like and whether the same applies.

Excluding the first 1/4 of the story which still had some mischaracterization in the conversation dynamic between Nokto and his MC...

Starting from the moment that the day changed into October 9 in the story, ENG had kept 90% of the story true to source material in JP.

And yes, the part which were kept true to source material is what you would call a "localization done right" or "well phrased direct translation" which does not change the content nor nuance being conveyed. It wasn't just Nokto that was kept true in these part, even his MC, in the unchanged bits here isn't the "default ENG MC (whose personality is like IkeSen ENG MC)" but it's actually Nokto's true MC (the same Nokto's MC as JP & TW ver) that also made her first cameo in ENG ver together with actual Nokto.

To those who are fans of Nokto, or want to know what the true Nokto actually is like, and are able to get the story, Nokto's 1st Birthday Story in His POV is a MUST READ

You won't regret it, trust me. The real Nokto Klein is super precious and I'm sure all of you who know the real him will see why I'm so head over heels in love with him.

(Precious boi must be protecc. Which is exactly also why you see me pointing out all the changes done to him in ENG that did him wrong.)

Seeing that the ENG localization managed to handle his story properly here (less the conversation dynamic at the beginning) I really do look forward to see them keep this up, especially with route that is still under the work in the ENG version, so that everyone can see and appreciate Nokto, and of course, all the other characters too, including each of the suitor's respective MCs, for who they really are. And so that I can share how precious my favorite character is with everyone without having to translate everything myself due to the mischaracterization 😇

Do we know who the character designer for IkePri is yet? It doesn't really look like the art for previous games to me.

heya! i do know who it is (tho i don’t know about “we” as a collective haha). usually whenever cybird releases trailers, the character designer is credited in the video. so that’s where you should look if you wanna find out. anyway, it’s ishizue kachiru! she does rosen blood! and a few other things. (^ ^*)♡

also just to be clear, cybird games usually have different artists so they really shouldn’t look the same per title. it just so happens that for both ikemen vampire and ikemen sengoku they used yamada shiro and it’s the game most english players play from the ikemen series. but every other game got a different artist. midcin and 100dp have the same artist but i count that as one game (tho 100dp was never released in en) because they have the same characters, just different settings / worlds. destined to love and ikemen ooku (イケメン大奥) have the same artist (coco kanata) but ooku was never released in en, and is cybird’s oldest game that most en players have never seen. ☆

i’m guessing you’re mostly an ikesen / ikevam player and that’s why you’re making the art similarity comparison as a general thing for cybird’s games? other en ikemen series games are ikerev, midcin, dtl – they’re all done by different artists and look way different from ikesen and ikevam. i actually made a complete list of cybird games and their artists. you can search for it on my blog using relevant keywords. (°◡°)

to be honest, i was expecting the old and tired cybird formula: mc gets thrown into a fairy tale fantasy world and can’t go home until maybe a month or two. and she can’t fall in love haha.

cybird, i like that this isn’t a time travel story this time around, but can you do away with the whole ~CANNOT FALL IN LOVE~ element. the whole, ‘she will have nothing to do with them after the selection’ thing is still similar! (⌒_⌒;)

heya! belated happy birthday! i’m sorry i’m answering this way too late! my answer’s gonna be useless anyway. i never really noticed. i asked my friends who’ve had birthdays recently; they also said they didn’t notice haha. ikerev does card greetings, but i never really looked for ikevam. your cards didn't greet you? ♪

heya! midcin en and jp are the same to me app performance-wise. the only difference: extra features and voices. the ch version of the game was really nice tho. it used the full screen, was fast, and had the same feel as the newer cybird apps. dtl is much worse than midcin tbh. midcin isn’t their first game btw! they have older ones with more horrible UIs. イケメン大奥 / ikemen ooku kills me. (╥﹏╥)

as for midcin en’s app getting updated? not a chance. they didn’t even bother adding the voices to it and other features the jp app has. we’ve skipped a bunch of stuff, and campaign / gacha items are just being sold as sets. i can already see the signs of it getting DTL-fied, maybe in a year or so haha. ☆

Ikemen General Election 2017

Early March Cybird is going to held a general election for 40 characters from the 8 otome games: Ikemen Reveolution, Ikemen Sengoku, Destined to Love, 100 Days Princess, Midnight Cinderella, Sleeping Princess, Ikemen Ooku, and Love, Lies and a Heist. 

From Midnight Cinderella will participate in the election: Byron Wagner, Alyn Crawford, Leo Crawford, Nico Meier and Rayvis Harneit. 

From 100 Days Princess: Cain Roches, Noah Leonhardt, Claude Braque, Louis Howard, Giles Christophe. 

From Destined to Love: Ryoma Sakamoto, Toshizo Hijikata, Yoshinobu Tokugawa (Keiki), Soji Okita,  Takechi Hanpeita (a new character apparently) (no Saito, sorry Karin :()

As you can see, in 2015 number one was Louis Howard (100DP), in 2016 Oda Nobunaga. It’s possible that this year, number one will be Ray Blackwell from Ikemen Revolution (I saw, that so far, he has most retweets on Twitter).
