slow burn or love at first sight: love at first sight. i adore when a ship meet for the first time and are either like, “this idiot is beautiful and mine” or alternatively, “i’d let them eat my heart out of my still-beating chest and thank them for it”.

fake dating or secret dating: fake dating!!!

“oh no, there’s only one bed” or long distance correspondence: only one bed. slow burn is all good and well but it’s a pain to write the shuffling. the pillow wall that never works. the knowledge that they’re either going to end up cuddling, having sex or both.

hurt/comfort or amnesia: amnesia. makes either for the angst of angst or the most hilarious thing you’ve ever read.

enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers: both - enemies to best friends to lovers is peak relationship development. OR,,, enemies to lovers to best friends, because negative growth comes before the fixins, which make everything better.

mutual pining or domestic bliss: domestic bliss. i am like the queen of domestic fic at this point. everything is a kidfic, gosh.

smut or fluff: not fluff, mainly because angsty smut comes with epic writing, usually. also, i find fluff hard to write if it’s not comic relief. comparatively, smut is easier because it’s a plot device.

fantasy AU or modern AU: modern au. i won’t pretend to be anything other than a nerd whose favourite genres are fantasy and sci-fi. les amis, babe.

AU or future fic: uhm, both? an au set in the future where all the travesties are over and done with, with some fix-it on the side.

kid fic or road trip: kid fic!

canon compliant/missing scenes or fix it fic: fixit fixit fixit fixit fixit fixit fixit fixit-

one-shot or multi chapter: multi-chapter fic. i find it hard to fit in all the things i want into a one-shot though i’m bad at finishing multi-chapter stuff.

time travel or isolated together: time travel~~~~~

high school or middle aged romance: i’d prefer hs au? i think? i tend to write them younger, so ships/families can get established and have the longest time together that they can. 

arranged or accidental marriage: accidental. it’s so much funnier! imagine it - your favourite ship who haven’t got together (alternatively: your favourite ship that has) get married by accident and have to deal with the fall-out, from the friends, the law or otherwise. it’s great!!!

sci-fi or magic AU: mmmmmm, magic?

body swap or gender bend: genderbend. make that male-dominated society female!

angst or crack: angst. angsttttttttt. as i said before, things like smut, enemies-to-lovers, can be used as plot-devices for angst, etc. and while being happy is good, angst brings the Feels.

apocalyptic or mundane: apocalypse - or rather, people from an apocalypse time travel back to the mundane times where things were normal and have to stop reacting like a zombie’s about to eat them. fun times.
