Cheered Up

Jack X Urban's Little Sister Reader

Summary- After Gazebo festival is cancelled, you find a way to cheer Jack up.

Jack was laying on the couch with his head in your lap, Urban and a couple other people sitting on the couch across from you. You were running your hands through Jack’s hair. Gazebo Festival day 2 had just officially been canceled. Everyone was understandably upset, but you didn’t see a point in sitting around and being sad, you always took on the role of trying to cheer everyone up and that’s exactly what you were going to do.

“C’mon, let’s do something fun, there’s no point in sitting around doing nothing,” You said, Jack reached up and grabbed your hand, playing with your wedding ring.

“But what if I’d rather just stay here and do nothing,” Jack said, and you sighed. 

“Do you remember the first year I went with you to Forecastle?” You asked.

“Yeah, when our parents said we could go by ourselves if we brought you and Clay,” Jack teased.

“Okay, those details don’t matter. But remember how we snuck in that year-”

“And you had a panic attack because you didn’t realize we were sneaking in,” Urban interrupted.

“Again, details don’t matter. But Sunday night after the last headliner, we all went bowling and then ended up all sleeping over at Urban and I’s house?” You said, and Jack nodded. “What if,” You said, getting everyone’s attention. “We went bowling, and then we come back here and had a sleepover, just like we did the first year we all went to Forecastle. We just act like kids again, we focus on Gazebo Fest another time, we can’t change anything now, so why not make the best out of it.”

“But the weather,” Jack argued.

“It’s clearing up, and it’s not supposed to get bad until later tonight, we’ll be back here before it gets bad again.”

“I think she has a point,” Clay agreed with you. Jack sighed dramatically before letting your hand go and sitting up.

“Fine.”

As against the idea as he was, Jack ended up inviting some of the artists that were in town for Gazebo fest to come bowling with you. You all got a little too competitive, but you won one game, so you were happy. Jack suggested picking up dinner before everyone went back to the house.

After everyone ate, everyone sat around your and Jack’s living room, your dog curled up in Jack’s lap as you laid your head on his shoulder. Everyone voted on a movie to watch when the weather picked back up. 

“Thank you,” Jack whispered to you, kissing the top of your head.

“For what?” You asked.

“For today, cheering me up. I think we all needed it. You always know when I need to be cheered up and just how to do it.”

“Of course, I’ll cheer you up another way later,” You said and Jack laughed, the two of you immediately being shushed by some of your friends.

We're Doing Something Right

Summary- You and Jack catch Paisley and Olive trying to make sure Hayden falls asleep.

Hayden was going through a bit of a sleep regression, which was normal for babies. You and Jack had laid him down for the night, but he didn’t want to sleep. You turned on his sound machine and left him in his crib, he wasn’t crying or upset, so you decided to leave him for about 20 minutes and see if he fell asleep on his own.

You were cleaning up a couple of the toys the girls had left in the living room when Jack noticed the girls were oddly quiet. He walked past Hayden’s room to try to find them when he noticed the door was open. 

“If I pick you up, can you reach his paci?” Paisley whispered, Jack stopped where he was.

“No.” Paisley sighed dramatically. Jack walked back into the living room to get you. Paisley pulled a chair from the corner of the room closer to the crib.

You and Jack stood in the doorway, watching your daughters try to get your son to fall asleep. Paisley helped Olive onto the chair, and she leaned over the side, still unable to reach the paci.

“I can’t reach,” Olive whispered.

“Let me try.” Olive and Paisley switched spots, and Paisley was able to reach the paci and put it back into Hayden’s mouth. Hayden reached up for Paisley.

“I’m going to climb in, can you grab his stuffed animal?” Paisley asked before climbing over the side of the crib, Hayden giggling as Paisley sat next to him. Olive grabbed his favorite turtle stuffed animal before climbing on the chair to hand it to Paisley. Paisley took the stuffed animal before handing it to Hayden.

“How do Mommy and Daddy get him to sleep?” Olive asked.

“I think Mommy bounces him?” Hayden crawled so that he could lay next to her. “Wait, maybe he wants to cuddle.” Paisley said Olive then climbed into the crib as well.

“I want to cuddle too.” Olive laid down on the other side of Hayden, you and Jack smiled at each other.

“I think this is a sign we’re doing something right,” Jack whispered, so the girls didn’t hear him.

“I think so too, he just wanted his sisters,” You smiled, resting your head on his shoulder. 

You both stood in the doorway, watching as your three kids fell asleep one-by-one. Once you knew they wouldn’t wake up, you moved the girls to their own bed to give them all some more space.

Trick Or Treat

Summary- You, Jack, and Urban take Paisley, Olive, and Hayden trick or treating.

Everyone was dressed and ready to go trick or treating. Olive in her Taylor Swift “Lover” costume that you and Jack managed to finish even though she changed her mind a couple of days before Halloween. Paisley was dressed in her butterfly fairy costume, a long dress with butterfly wings and a fairy wand. Hayden was even dressed up. Olive picked out Hayden’s costume for his first Halloween and she wanted him to dress up as Sadie, the family goldendoodle. You and Jack were even dressed up as Barbie and Ken. 

“Daddy, when is Uncle Urban going to be here?” Paisley asked, Urban was coming with you and Jack before he was going out to a party.

“In a couple minutes, then we’ll leave,” Jack said. You got Hayden comfortable in his stroller, surrounding him with a blanket in case he got cold later on. Hayden reached up to feel for the floppy ear that he was holding on to earlier. As soon as you stepped away to grab the Halloween baskets, he started crying, Jack was helping Paisley buckle her shoes.

“I got it,” Olive said, jumping up from the couch and going over to her little brother. She didn’t know what he wanted but as soon as she figured it out she moved the ear so he could grab it. As soon as he did, he stopped crying. “Mommy! I did it! I made him stop crying!” Olive said excitedly.

“Good job Liv, thank you for helping.”

“See, I told you you’d be a good big sister,” Jack said as he stood up.

“Yeah, I like being a big sister, I love Hayden,” Olive said as she played with the fur of his costume. Urban walked in the front door, the girls running to him.

“UNCLE URBAN!” They yelled, practically jumping on him.

“Hi, my favorite Harlow girls,” Urban said, picking up Paisley to hug her before picking up Olive to hug her. “Are you guys excited?” 

“Yeah! Look at my costume!” Paisley said, spinning around so her dress would flare.

“Woah, that’s so pretty! I love your costume too Olive!” Urban told them before saying hi to you and Jack and going over to see Hayden’s costume.

“Can we go now?” Paisley asked you and you nodded.

“Yeah, let’s go!” Jack handed the girls their buckets and you put a bag in the bottom of Hayden’s stroller just in case their buckets got too heavy for them. You started pushing the stroller but Jack quickly took over. 

You all walked the neighborhood, the girls getting an amount of candy that would at least last 2 months. The girls both dumped their buckets into the bag you brought at least once. Hayden was even given a little candy even though he was too young to eat any. 

Towards the end of the night, Olive got tired of walking and you still had a couple blocks until you were home. You took over pushing Hayden, Jack carried Olive, and she rested her head on his shoulder. Urban carried her bucket while walking with Paisley. You stopped at a couple more houses before making it back to your own. 

As soon as you got home, Urban left to go to his party and Olive got a sudden burst of energy at the thought of getting to eat some of her candy. Jack got Hayden changed and mostly ready for bed before sitting on the couch to feed him a bottle. 

Paisley and Olive sat on the ground, dumping all of their candy out onto the floor.

“Can I have the M&M’s?” Olive asked Paisley.

“As long as I can have the Skittles,” Paisley said and Olive nodded.

“Okay,” she nodded.

They sorted all of their candy evenly except for the Skittles, M&M’s, and Resse’s cups which Olive hated but Paisley loved so Paisley gave Olive some of her Kit Kat’s for them.

Of course, the girls ate way too much candy and had a sugar rush all night, but that was part of the fun of Halloween.

Mixed Emotions teaser

A/N- Name of the series might change, but this is a teaser for my first original character series.

“I fucking hate you.” Gabriella told Jack, her words fueling his adrenaline as he continued to thrust his hips into hers.

“Yeah?” Jack asked. “Well, I fucking hate you too.” Jack challenged.

“It doesn’t matter how good you fuck me, my feelings for you will never change.” She told him before Jack leaned down to kiss her.

Neither Gabriella nor Jack was sure how they ended up in the situation they were in, but they did.

Jack met Gabriella when they were little, Gabriella was friends with Clay, so Jack and Clay’s mother, Maggie, would offer to watch Gabriella when both of her parents had to work. Jack hated her then, he hated how her hair was in two perfect pigtails, and the way she always wore that stupid hot pink dress, his hatred for her never went away, even once they became adults. In return Gabriella hated Jack. She hated the way he ignored her when she would ask him a question, or how they would get along for a few days, just for Jack to act like she didn’t exist.

Unknown nudibranch, they actually told me the name but I forgot it... What really struck me is that when it wasn't hit by direct light from a spotlight or flash it was rather ugly, but when it was illuminated the light reflected and had a wow Nudibranquio desconocido, realmente si me dijeron el nombre pero lo olvidé...
