The way the show Velma butchered the characters within the show… so far everyone is so unlikable and rude; the jokes aren’t funny edgy, either, they’re just mean and uncomfortable or mean and out of pocket.

Even if it was an adult rendition, it just feels like the writers trying to make a meta and edgy show while using the skins of already known characters. And yet, actually good and well-executed shows get the axe. What the hell?

Kinda feel like ive had some weird mental revelation, i got really happy about something small and then i remembered my friends mom growing up and how she used to get super excited about really small things and i thought it was weird at the time but like little surprises and little consistencies in life are so good. Like ive experienced so much change and being able to see little bugs bein little bugs and animals and birds and seeing seasons change have been the most consistent things in my life any i love them for it. Thanks for bein there lil guys i love you so much. I fuckin get it old friends mom, way to go

I can imagine Kate's car breaking down in the parking lot, and Abby going out when Kate is calling a tow truck. Abby asks what happened and Kate tells her, Abby smiles and grabs her phone and hangs up on the tow truck. Kate is confused, but Abby tells her that she can fix it. She quickly goes inside and gets her jumpsuit on and a tool kit and goes back out. She starts to look at the car and figures out what is wrong with it and fixes it. Kate finds this insanely attractive and stares at her the whole time. When Abby is done, she doesn't ask for anything, she just sticks her tongue out playfully and goes back inside. Kate is flustered and follows Abby inside, when Abby is halfway done taking her jumpsuit off, Kate ends up kissing her. Abby ends up getting oil on Kate, because her hands are a little dirty. Kate doesn't mind, she's too caught up in kissing Abby.

something that i really like about blue eye samurai, now that im thinking about it, is that it discusses violence against women without becoming torture porn. like, in a lot of media that portrays women's issues, they show you that scene. like they give you this extended visual of a woman experiencing something traumatic and then laud themselves as feminist for doing so.

blue eye samurai doesn't do that. the whole show is set in a world that is extremely antagonistic toward women, and it makes a point to tell you that being a woman right now sucks, because they are property and are used sexually. but even though it doesn't shy away from this, it doesn't show you the violence itself, which you would almost expect it to because of how graphic the rest of the show is.

im thinking specifically of kinuyo. they very well could have shown us a scene of her being abused, but they didn't. they didn't show the abuse itself, but they did show how it affected her. they showed her seeing a doctor for her sores. they could have made this incredibly traumatic and grotesque scene a spectacle, showing us exactly how powerless she is and how powerful he is. they could have shown us this incredibly triggering event in full detail for our entertainment, but they didn't. they chose not to. and i think that's how it should be.

it is not necessary to have an extended visual and auditory reenactment of violence against women. we the audience understood the gravity of the situation and were able to empathize without needing that scene. having that scene would have completely detracted from the point they are trying to make. it would have turned something completely reprehensible that women everywhere fear because it's a very real issue into entertainment.
