#im as frustrated as hokuto

If im honest really (as a fan of enstars since EN first release and have caught up with a few JP events except for like the super recent ones), I found most of the event stories and main story stuff uninteresting or just overall a headache to go through. Most of the time (through both official and fan translated) they would get me shaking my head asking "what the heck is going on??",or the story drags around that it feels both frustrating and just too boring for my brain to be able focus even, and just as I thought its gotta get better they will usually have some lame conclusion monologue going on that either my monkey brain is unintellectual to understand what's going or maybe its the writers are like that idk Im happy to see the pretty cgs though.

I would very much rather have someone summarize the stories to me even if it sacrifice for inaccuracies and biases. Ok here's an example, Antique Legends? The only thing I remember from the story is the fun interactions within Hokuto and his dad, which may be due to my bias with Hokuto but really that was the only truly entertaining part to me.

Speaking of characters I really don't care about character depth at all all I wanna see is them being cute in those little idol stories cause idol stories (yes I mean those short stories that are mostly like one - two chapter long) and scout stories are really what I look forward to the most personally cause they aren't over the top complicated or draggy like event stories and main stories, its not to say they are boring no in fact they are way more entertaining cause they make things that may seem so simple and mundane to something fun and also I love seeing them in wacky events too.

Also yes I did mention being a HokutoP though I would say I'm more of an overall drama clubP with other characters I like such as Aira and Naruchan (love calling her that personally) (and also I love every character in their many uniqueness and to be fair its just the bias demons that posses me). Now what do these guys have to do with this post? well to bring point that I know absolutely nothing about their 'complex sides' other than that they are sweet angels to me and I love seeing them in cute and funny situations, and guess what I still appreciate seeing them and hell I own a Wataru nui (planning to get a hokke one too soon) because even though yaydadad the whole war thing and his 'masks' I personally find him super fun even if I'm aware that he may just be putting on an act (plus I also have a mini white party dress for him that I make him wear whenever I went to anything fancy like my when I went to see my cousin perform on a orchestra concert).

To bring my final point I personally think that enstars best strength or interest for me is the idol / scout stories because even with their cookie cutter like surface layer personalities they manage to even be more memorable and overall fun to read. Oh and stories aside I adore most of the cards although they get bland sometimes and most of the songs are pretty good in my opinion love trickster songs muah. Anyhow thats just how I feel like enjoying the game and to be fair I prefer to enjoy it alone rather than to have a mutual around cause ye I'm that those type people who enjoy being alone and find a lot of people to be a waste of a space personally, well I have a lot in my mind currently as per usual but they most aren't enstars related so for now imma really stop myself here right now though I may come back here for more confessions idk depends on me I guess (I will also be surprised if you read through this entire thing and if you do thank you and may God bless you my good friend).

ranting here because im mad again at HiMERU :>

as I was clearing the tour live on my KnightsP account,, my friend contacted me saying she got HiMERU in the featured scout (note that this is her FIFTH 5* in like three? days she is incredibly lucky ahhh),,, in fact, she started playing on the same day I made my HiMERU account;;;;

so I asked her how many pulls it took for her to get HiMERU. the answer? THIRTY.

thinking this was a good time to pull I switched accounts to go to my new HiMERU-dedicated account to pull, 30 times as well! obv the result was i got nothing (except a 5* Hokuto, which came at the wrong time because i only wanted him a month ago)

SO ANYWAY. IM LEFT WITH ALMOST NO PULLS and have no way of grinding back up again unless i create a... fourth account? hahaaha.. i hate gambling and will probably only do this for two characters: izumi and himeru

but i guess it's more the frustration of putting in more hours of grinding and seeing no results compared to others.

in order to manifest (lol) i went to spam crazy roulette (because i like HiMERU's solos in that),, only to feel called out by the lyrics (yknow how it's about gambling and all that..)

Tokyo Babylon - CLAMP Premium Collection - Commentary Pt. 2

In this part, I will talk about Chapter 1: Babel. But first,

Overall, I didn't find any script differences in the CPC Japanese and translation version like Chapter 0, but some things I noticed so far are:

1) Before, I talked about how Subaru called Hokuto and vice versa, but in this whole volume, Hokuto called Subaru as "Subaru" and Subaru called Hokuto as "Hokuto-chan". Additionally, Hokuto, when her tension is up, she called Seishiro as "Sei-chan" and when she is talking on serious matters, she called Seishiro as "Seishiro-chan".

2) This is pretty much my opinion, but I feel like it's either Subaru is the type to take everyone's good side first before everything else or he is a bit untouch of the world. I felt frustrated reading this chapter because, what vet could interfere his kekkai and burn dead spirits 😩 I was entirely frustrated of this boy as much as I love him, and he has been red-flagged since chapter 1. A story that will never end in happy ending if Subaru keeps acting like this (and he did, until the very end).

3) CLAMP did have fun channeling their love for boys' love and they didn't even shy away from making direct romantic confrontation between the main characters in this series. I understand now why TB is one of the dearest series to them and they did their best with the CPC covers. You can see how much they are having fun with the covers. And to think this series is released in 1990, when same-sex romance wasn't quite accepted in this world. On serious note, they are so amazing that I squealed in panic whenever Seishiro kabedon-ing Subaru and, oh my, the boy didn't even flinch. If only they are that bravery now 👀

ANYWAY let's proceed to the commentary. Chapter 1 is about the lady who took suicide as she felt frustrated with her life and she stayed in Tokyo Tower because this is the only place that makes her love Tokyo, even just a bit.

The chapter cover is 9.9/10. So pretty, so amazing, so beautiful. Subaru and tulips are good friends now.

We started the chapter by the staffs explaining about what happened with Tokyo Tower. Running gag number one: the staffs asking him for signs. I would do the same tho if I can meet Subaru 🤭 On serious note, I noticed Subaru has a sympathethic power (is this even a thing?) to the point he could place himself in the woman's place when she fell down from the tower. Subaru, a medium, could see someone's memories to some extend and talked to their unconsciousness side. He probably could feel their emotions as well, no matter how painful they are. This is why when Hokuto died, he could see what actually immediately though not entirely, thus he could wake up out of trauma right away. As he grew up, he has some better grip of himself and wouldn't let the emotion get him anymore, which is why he could symphatize with Kamui's pain, but doesn't let himself swayed away again like when he was younger. But this is my opinion and has no prove, anyway.

Then Hokuto and Seishiro went to Tokyo Tower too and...

Hokuto: Tokyo Tower is a good spot for date.

Subaru: Whose?

Hokuto: Subaru's.

Subaru: With who?

Hokuto: Sei-chan.

Subaru: WH-WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, HOKUTO-CHAN

This one is way funnier in Japanese because Subaru only changed one particle to ask questions 😭 Damn, supportive sister Hokuto-chan, approving your love life right away.

Then Seishiro told Hokuto to not disturb Subaru in work and then running gag number one happened again. Then the three went on sighseeing in Tokyo Tower and Seishiro bought Subaru ice cream...

Please notice that Subaru touched Seishiro's hand like that (either to support his hand so the ice cream doesn't fall or he is unconsciously attracted to Seishiro, it's yours to decide).

Then Hokuto repeated the explanation we have chapter 0 about Subaru being 13th Head of Sumeragi Clan and Seishiro possibly coming from Sakurazukamori clan. Hokuto also talked about how Subaru was trained by their grandma (she called her grandma obaa-chama, which is so cute 😭) and...

Then an earthquake happened and Seishiro supported Subaru. Hokuto commented that "it's a good picture". Look at Seishiro's face.

Skip skip, the whole thing escalated. Subaru and Seishiro stayed in Tokyo Tower together and talked about it. The woman's spirit appeared as well and after some fights, we had Subaru said he forgot that...

Seishiro is an onmyojutsu user as well.

Okay. So. Subaru. How come you let that man mandhandled you so easily? You damn whipped one little man.

I already vented my frustration above so let me enjoyed the romantic part now.

Then yada yada happened, Subaru talked to the woman and Seishiro literally made her mad again, sigh, while Subaru said he didn't even bothered by that at all and he understood what she felt, but took suicide isn't right. When she asked if Subaru would forgive her for bothering him, Subaru said yes and she is happy. She moved on by saying that actually her days in Tokyo were fun and she came to like Tokyo even for a little.

And after that the two went to the special viewing area, the place that she mentioned in her story. Then they talked why someone loves someone else if that causes them pain, and Seishiro confessed his love towards Subaru again...

HOW DARE YOU KABEDON-ING SUBARU LIKE THAT AND THIS BOY DIDN'T EVEN FLINCHED!!!???

Just when we are getting into the mood 😩 he really said his infamous line here ✋️ hands off my man you one manslaughter for breaking the whole mood.

Akehoshi Subaru :

It goes without saying whenever you start playing with the piano, he cant help but look at the small content smile on your lips; or how your brows furrow in concentrationー it’s a sight he’ll ensure gets engraved in his memories

But like tringed instrumants? Bam. Master of the arts. Woodwinds? Pow. He didn’t know you had such powerful lungs. Keyboards? How do your fingers move so fast,,

The guitar is a fun instrument to play as Subaru has learned. He can't help himself from humming whenever you play said instrument. You look so cool and so graceful plucking the strings and shifting your fingers. The satisfied look in your eyes when you get the sound right makes him feel warm

Subaru is usually aloof and sometimes can't read the situation but when you're frustrated from not getting the tune right, expect him to pry you away from practices and cuddle you until you feel better (you always do)

This boy loves sparkly things but what’s even more sparkly than coins? His s/o playing music. He is your number one fan and isn’t afraid to show it. You were quite embarrassed when he cheered for you loudly during an opera play but the grin on your face lasted the whole performance

Hidaka Hokuto :

He’s not really good at showing affection, especially when you crave a few praises after successful performances, a pat on the head with a small smile from him is all it takes to satisfy you for the time being

As a leader, he has a lot on his mind. It's definitely relaxing to come back to you and hear a gentle melody being played. His body just automatically responses when you play

As much as he enjoys watching your performances, the end results of hours of practices; he definitely likes it better when he watches your practice. He appreciates all the hard work and passion you put in them

He's that one boyfriend that won't stop smiling when you show your talents. You look so happy and in your zone that he can't help but think ”I really love her, huh..?”

Once, he found you staying late to practice and opted to stay with you. Needless to say, you ended up gently shaking him awake after the end of your performanceー he's had a long day and listening to you play really calms the mind, he said.

Isara Mao :

Student council and idol work stress are completely drained when he listens to you play. How are you so good? He can't help the proud feeling in his chest when he looks at you play

He knows how much hard work and dedication someone needs in order to do a lot of things; so he's definitely the proudest boyfriend knowing you can play so lunch instruments

Hard practice always has satisfying results, but sometimes, when you hurt your fingers from continues practices, he’ll definitely patch it up and kiss it better. Though his face end up a few shades redder than normal...

He doesn't really care how much instruments you can playー he thinks you're already talented and beautiful so when he watches you switch from the piano to the drums like some sort of magician; he's already hooked

Watching you perform is like another hobby for him; one he's really good at too. No matter how crowded or dark the audience seats are from the stage, you could still practically see him beaming with a proud smile and twinkling eyes

Yuuki Makoto :

This boy can't stop gushing over how amazing and talented you are??? How could he so lucky?? You tell him it’s not about luck but all about what the heart says, and his definitely can't stop pounding from hearing you play

Makoto finds it rather hard to blink when he watched you play; he's afraid he’ll miss something and you end up giving him some eye drops because his eyes becomes dry

A soft blush always finds itself dusting Makoto’s cheeks when he listens to your music. He thinks that you're the most talented person in the world and you tell him he's also the cutest person in the world. His face rivals a tomato after that

After a rough day of finger bruising and aching muscles from practices, Makoto is there to give you warm drinks and warm hugs. He finds your passion inspiring and gets motivated to try his best like you always do

He learned a lot from watching you play. The other members are honestly surprised from his sudden knowledge of instruments and he sheepishly admits his s/o was the reason why he started studying instruments more. Needless to say, you were also quite moved when he bought you new strings for your guitar but wait.. the brand is really expensive??
