The entire ride to the stage was pretty quiet. Everyone to focused on their talents and hoping their planning the day before was good enough to get a fan votes to stay. Bow Wow greeted us when we were moved off the bus and into a building. The place was dark, the only light coming from a large stage with a pulsating x on it. In front of the stage was a few rows of seating for an audience as well as a table for what I assumed was judges. He stood on the stage with a big smile. We all had our hands full, each hold costumes, props or anything we needed for our performance which made him laugh.

"You all look like your ready to put on a great show." He said and we all enthusiastically - yet nervously - replied. "Okay so I want to tell you all a few things. This challenge is for you to prove to the fans back at home that you are not here for nothing and you all are serious about your futures in the business. The people with the lowest fan votes and score will be up for elimination."

"Score?" William asked.

"Thats my second point. You all will be judge today based on your a few parameters. Skill and Technique, which means how goof you are at the talent you chose to show us. Two, Stage Presence: This is all about your ability to command the stage and make us give you our full attention. Creativity and Originality basically whether the performance has unique and innovative elements that set it apart from others. Artistry: why you chose this particular thing and its about us feeling your connection to it. Entertainment Value is this enjoyable for us. Timing and Pacing Looking at the flow and timing of the performance we don't want it to drag on. Overall Impression Considering the overall impact and memorability of the performance. and finally" He placed his hands on his chest. "I will not be judging you, instead I would like you to meet your judges." He turned and we cheered as the bright face of Kelly Clarkson came on stage and waved at us. "She got her start like some of you will, on a reality show. Please Wellcome grammy award winning singer, winner of American idol and all around lovely person Kelly Clarkson."

"Hi guys!" She smiled wide "I know what you guys are feeling, I was in your shoes once too and I cannot wait to see what you all can do."

"Our second judge has been running is own comedy show for a while now, but is also a former child star as well as married to the gorgeous Mariah Carey, Nick Canon!" He came on stage waving his hand.

"I really can't wait to see all of this. I have been watching the show and I'm not going to lie I am hooked! so I am ready!"

"And last but not least our third judge is a model, actress and all around beauty Megan Fox!"

She walks on stage and Ian whistles. She laughs "Thank you everyone. Just know that I am so excited to see everyone really shine today!"

"Okay now that you know our judges. We will be picking our order at random so please finish getting ready, we will be starting in a half an hour."

I want to apologize for the absolute shit pictures but what's new lol

So, let's start with the platform. First thing I noticed was the blue was brighter but the platform was darker? It was like someone cranked up the contrast to 100. Ngl it looked pretty cool. Yoongis platform doesn't typically have a barrier like some of the others do so I just kinda walked in and did the whole, "happy birthday, I have questions" His energy seemed a lot more... vibrant? And playful I guess? It was really nice. Now. The actual connection was intresting because the cord was blue again and like, real thick. (I don't think my perceived thickness of the cord has and real correlation with how strong the connection is. It was just thicc) this time though, the cord was connected at the chest instead of the third eye. So i was like, ??? But my guide didn't give my any sort of helpful input (my guide likes to watch me suffer in my confusion. I'm sure of it)

Anyway, cord like that and then yoobi gave me a headbutt to connect at the third eye. Idk why he gotta be like that :( istg next time he's gonna flick my forehead or something.

I was like "cool cool cool. I want to do the reading now pls" and idk how to explain the energy other than sassy. You know? Blah blah blah I'm thinking, "I don't remember him being so cheeky but maybe I've been gone long enough for him to level up into his final sass monster form"

Anywho, this was intresting because after the little strings were connected and stuff, we plopped down on the floor. And it was like everything I was doing irl was being mimicked infront of yoons energy? So we were sitting facing eachother and I was putting the cards down between us?? Usually that doesn't happen but it was kinda fun!!

Moving right along. I first asked if there was anything he wanted to say or needed to get across and it was 11. Now, 11 has come up before and I'm still not to sure what it's in reference to? My best guess is possibly he's been seeing 11:11 or that it's 2? Idk let me know if you have any clues lol. Other stuff was just kinda banter and stuff.

So so so.

The reading. First thing I asked was how he was doing. And I shuffled his preticular way (when I ask a question I always ask for the energy to tell me how much to shuffle or when to stop. For yoongi it's always 2-2-2. So 2 bridge shuffles, 2 hand shuffles and then split the pile in 2. That's why I think 11 might be 2 to him?)

The cards we got are ace of swords rev, justice,the heirophant rev, the empress.

So based off this I was like okay. I want to pull clarity cards for the two rev cards to get a better picture so I pulled the emperor rev for ace or swords rev and strength rev and wheel of fortune rev for the heirophant rev.

Starting with the ace of swords rev, and the emperor reverse. It seems like yoongi has been re thinking his relationship to control in his life. That's he's possibly noticing any unhealthy needs to control his life and the situation around him. It could also refer to his judgment being clouded by a rigid approach.

With the justice card it makes me think that he's possibly considering a big choice in his life or that he's really doing some deconstructing of his own views. This second idea fits in well with him getting clarity on some possibly unhealthy control issues in his life.

Now. The heirophant rev, strength rev and wheel of fortune reverse. This was intresting to me bc they are all major arcana. The heirophant rev can really talk about no longer needing outside approval and making your own way in your own time bc you are your own teacher. Strength in rev I kinda read as self doubt and feeling down in this case. Like a lack of confidence in himself and his abilities. And the wheel of fortune in reverse I took to mean as his breaking cycles. All together these cards kinda paint a picture about wanting and trying to break a cycle of self doubt and self limiting beliefs and learning more about himself and why he think what he does about himself and searching through everything for truth. It's really good!! In short he's doing some nice soul searching and trusting himself to guide his own way through this self discovery!

The empress! This card seems to pop up for yoobi a lot and I think it really speaks to the abundance that surrounds him! Not just money but the abundance of creativity, love, friends ect.

Now now now. I asked him if there was anything that he wanted to tell us about himself or bts or what's happening in the near future. For that I got 2 of cups, king of wands and 3 of coins.

So the 2 of cups is partnership. Usually romantic. Could be pertaining to the may 13th thing that is ever present lol but I'll get to that later. With the 3 of coins talking about teamwork, this could definitely hint at collaborations coming up!! That's the vibe I get. No one crush my dreams. And for the king of wands it could be talking about taking the reigns on a new project and starting to get it done. Like a new opportunity. This could be a new bts project like starting a new campaign or new venture or maybe personal like the a mixtape or doing more songs for other groups ect.

I had to ask him how he was feeling about the grammys. I had to. Had to. The cards were ace of wands, 2 of wands and death reverse. When these came flying out I could help but smile. Yoongis energy was almost giddy too!

It's that spark of creativity and inspiration. It's that feeling when you get super excited over some new thing. I think this is the perfect example for feeling reinvigorated. The 2 of wands takes that spark from the ace and tries to funnel that excitement and newness into something directional. Using that burst of creativity to start planning for future progress!! Its so nice to see that! If they don't win (IF) you bet we're gonna get some bangers about a corrupt system. If (WHEN) they do win we'll get bangers about how thankful they are to have gotten where they are in spite of a corrupt system. I just want to hear an uncensored version of yoongi being like, "HOLY FUCKING SHIT, WE DID IT BITCHES. FUCK ALL YOU BASTARDS THAT SAID WE COULDN'T."

Now I asked if there was anything yoobi wanted to say to us as in advice or comfort or anything like that and I got, Clearing negativity, make time for self care, when I'm tuned into the energy of abundance I become abundant. when I'm in a state of appreciation im in vibrational alignment with my true love nature. The world rev, 2 of swords rev and that project, that person, that idea is waiting.

Awe. Take care of yourselves!! Make sure to take time to enjoy what you like and try not to let any negativity get in the way of you enjoying your days. The world rev to me seems to be talking about seeking closure on the things in your life that have been impacting you. Tie up those loose ends so you can move foward without triping over yourself and 2 of swords rev I think talks about information overload and being kinda indecisive bc of that. Take a sep back to evaluate the situation at hand because sometimes it's so close you can't see what you're looking for. Those of you who are studying and getting frustrated because you just can't seem to get it, try taking a step back and doing something to take care of yourself and come back to it so you can approach with a clearer mind. Try not to get stuck or paralyzed by choice but if you do get stuck, take some time to detach yourself from the situation and come back later!

A fair few people wanted an update on yoobis soulmate as well. If you need a refresher here's the run down. Yoongis soulmate is impossible for me to read, yoongi is a smug ass and I'm nosy and probably a little dumb.

Now that that's cleared up

i think i understand tian a bit better bc i feel like last ep i was kind of confused why tian just accepted leaving when there wasn’t anything truly forcing him to do so, but i think it’s bc tian has always had this mindset of following what his parents want so he thinks of that future with his parents as somewhat set in stone even if the path there is flexible, so even though i wish he hadn’t had to leave the village i do think it’s important that he had this period of realizing that he can choose his own future

the metaphor of the flower being tian, when he’s coddled too much by his parents he withers, but when he really experiences life and faces it he blossoms

i can’t believe it’s over, y’all, like what a journey, i truly wasn’t expecting the story to be so emotional and dramatic but i really have loved it so much and while i’m glad we’ve finally gotten to the happy ending, i’m so sad to say goodbye. i don’t think fish upon the sky will be quite as good or be so impactful, but nevertheless i’m excited to start that next week and i hope it will be a good addition to frigay and give me something new to be excited about each week

Everyone that I've seen or heard work with him puts it as a really positive experience, and he helps make great stuff! pvrisofficial: He is the BEST. He was very similar to Blake in the sense that he was incredibly nurturing and encouraging, dedicated to making sure it was 100% everything I wanted and always stood up for me if the label ever tried to change it. His production style is definitely different but its extremely diverse. It's a lot punchier and crisper and a bit more minimal than in the past but i think it almost makes things more impactful that way!

34. bosko’s dog race (1932)

release date: june 25th, 1932

man, bruno’s really making a name for himself, isn’t he? another bosko and bruno short has bosko enlisting bruno in the local dog race for a $5,000 prize ($93,871.53 today. damn, i’d enter, too!).

chipper as always, bosko’s frying an egg over a campfire with his faithful companion, bruno. he pauses his whistling of “are you from dixie?” to tell bruno “oh boy, am i hungry!��, greeted with an affirmative bark.

it seems bosko isn’t the only one with a hankering for some hen fruit. a squirrel happily eats up the egg that bosko’s flipping in one contended gulp, prompting bosko to whip out a rifle, shoot a few times, and send bruno after the squirrel (“stick ‘im, bruno!”). the pacing is just right, nice and snappy. we’re lulled into a sense of security as we watch bosko prepare the egg, bruno licking his lips in anticipation. all at once, the squirrel eats the egg, and before you know it you’re hearing gunshots and barking. great setup!

interesting to note, as we focus on bruno chasing after the squirrel, the musical underscore is “whistle and blow your blues away”, which would become the next theme song for the looney tunes shorts in the 1932-1933 season.

bosko shoots once more at the squirrel, determined to teach it a lesson. the impact of the shot sends him hurtling (well, rolling) backwards, right into the sizzling pan where he burns himself. the chase comes to a halt as bruno follows the squirrel through a log, falling into a pond and receiving ridicule from bosko, who calls him to his side.

a sign advertising “$5000 PRIZE TO WINNER, WHIPPET RACE” catches the eye of bosko, who proudly shows the sign to his companion. there’s a hilarious scene where bruno frowns at the audience, the whippet in the advertisement transforming into a galloping bruno. juxtaposition between the cheery expression on advertisement bruno and the miserable expression on real bruno make the gag hit, at least for me. good staging!

ever greedy bosko insists that bruno’s going to run in the race and win. mortified at the thought, bruno slinks away and howls “NOOOOOO!”, but bosko won’t take NOOOOOO! for an answer. again, the incongruity between facial expressions makes this. the plight of the optimist versus the realist. bosko’s total ignorance to his pup’s suffering is even funnier, and bruno’s resistance is absolutely believable. believability is such an important trait to any media, and unfortunately, a good number of bosko cartoons lack believability. however, the cartoons that DO have moments of believability (such as here) really hit hard, so that’s something to be thankful for. i always like to give the benefit of the doubt—i don’t like to completely slam a cartoon or a director, no matter how bad the cartoon may be. (though buddy’s day out may test my unflappable optimism)

honey makes an appearance, poking her head over the fence to watch bosko train bruno. she asks if they’re training, and bosko opts to showboat and show off how manly his dog is and how great of a trainer he is.

how very looney tunes. i love seeing glimpses of gags that would continue to be used time and time again in future cartoons! honey points and laughs to the embarrassment of bosko and bruno.

finally, the big day arrives. the seats are packed as bets are placed and flyers are strewn about. again, some good juxtapositional comedy: we see part of the competition, a sleek, confident whippet with its head held high, gingerly taking its steps with a swagger... and then everyman bosko, lugging bruno around with a rope around his neck.

we see honey, who’s clapping and eagerly listening to the announcer dictate the start of the race. that’s a cute way to include her, exposing her endearing excitement towards bosko.

the hounds are released and bosko joins honey’s side in a hurry. dog after dog races by, but no sign of bruno...

bruno comes moseying along, sniffing the ground carefully and taking his time. once again, great setup! i love that this cartoon in particular really takes advantage of the humorous effects that contrast and juxtaposition possess. bosko and honey yell at bruno to get snappy, and the pooch scrambles off in a hurry.

all of the dogs are faring better than bruno, who’s literally slowed in time, practically floating in the air as he pants in exhaustion. bosko runs on the track, shouting his name to keep him going. eventually, bruno perks up, but not because of bosko. he leaps over a fence and chases something offscreen, bosko close behind.

it turns out that “something” is the squirrel from the beginning of the cartoon. bruno chases it into a log, where the squirrel climbs up a tree and knocks a beehive down on bruno.

predictably, the bees aren’t too happy about this. they sting bruno and send him on a wild goose chase, with bosko booking it in front of him so as not to get stung himself. they run into someone’s yard and slip through a wringer, into a laundry basket. we get a great visual of anthropomorphized clothes (including a girdle that flies away like a butterfly) pouring out of the laundry basket, running towards the screen.

once again, a crude joke has me wondering if bob clampett had any sort of involvement. bruno gets a pair of underwear stuck on his head and runs away, back onto the racetrack, bees uncomfortably close behind. the stings received by the nuisances prove to be a good motivator, as bruno runs faster and faster, passing all of the dogs, until he wins!

he crosses the finish line... almost. he doesn’t break the ribbon, but instead it propels him backwards and sends him crashing to the ground, where he explodes into multiple tiny puppies of himself, regrouping just in time for bosko and honey to admire him as ww iris out.

quite the enjoyable cartoon! i think it’s tied for favorite with battling bosko. the pacing is just right and only feels stretched in a few spots. bruno is VERY believable, which is rather amusing considering he should be the least believable character there as an animal. bosko and honey are endearing as always, and their motives are admirable. bosko wants to win, honey wants to see bosko win. great music score, great visuals, great gags, great cartoon! harman and ising definitely showed us what they’re capable of doing in this cartoon. like all of the bosko cartoons, it’s no masterpiece, but considering its time and comparing other shorts, it’s definitely one of the gems. i certainly recommend a watch!

The Power of Mackerel (Free! Dive to the Future - Episode 9 )

Yo, I’m back! So I know the title of this post may seem odd, but I have a reason for this! Before we jump in, however...We have some new people to meet! Let’s go! Time for my rambling all of my inner thoughts on the latest piece of the story.

(A little note, however. There is more in this episode with Asahi, Ikuya, Hiyori, and Makoto (Makoto’s sweetness is amplified at least a million times here. If he doesn’t become the #1 choice for imaginary husband for y’all, I don’t know who else can), but what I’m about to touch on is content that made even a transition episode such as this one that much more powerful for me.)

Now I’m ready.

So at the start of the episode, we finally get to meet two unknown characters who showed up in the intro song to every episode and whose identities we did not know at all until today. But, the first character gave me some heartwarming feels (and brought back some comical nostalgia too).

Meet the newest Mikoshiba member, Isuzu Mikoshiba!

She is not only a female swimmer, but also a passionate gamer and a leader. I did not see this coming, but I am glad that they placed a seemingly strong-willed female character into the series. After seeing her, I wish that they introduced her earlier in the series (especially because she is the first female swimmer that we have been personally introduced to during the entire franchise), but I am excited to see just how good she is. Plus, she noticed Haru’s triceps as well! Perhaps... she’ll be Gou’s new best friend? I won’t be surprised if that happens... After all, both of her brothers like the young lady!

(And Haru’s imagining all three Mikoshiba siblings laughing in their usual Mikoshiba manner... I feel you, Haru).

I do look forward to seeing what role she plays in the rest of this season, especially because we do not really see her do much aside from ask Haru whether he can compete with her (and I bet Isuzu and Momo bond over their older brother locking them with his arm and most (probably) putting them through a hell-of-a swimming training, haha).

However, the first time we meet Isuzu is also the first time we meet this super blonde, purple-eyed tall guy: Albert Wahlander.

This gigantic foreigner creams Isuzu in gaming, which at first didn’t leave much of an impact on me until he is in the water. On that topic, during this entire episode, I loved that there were multiple clues floating around that suggested his prowess. Some were explained to us through the other characters in the series, and others seemed more symbolic. So, let’s list the ones that weren’t blatantly mentioned by the rest of the cast, because why not?

1) He goes for mackerel as his meal.

Alright, so now you see where my title came from, eh? Well, Haru, being the now smiley version of himself, helps out a lost Albert when it comes to ordering food. More specifically, mackerel, since the tall guy seems to want to eat it. And, this new character is so darn cute with his usage of chopsticks that I was wondering for a moment what his role was in the episode/series. But, back to this topic at hand, he and Haru begin to form a bond through their both eating mackerel (despite their massive language barrier, which really wasn’t a barrier since they oddly understood each other. This made me smile, so much.)

2) He is good with his hands.

He not only uses his finger dexterity to beat Isuzu in gaming, but also learns how to handle chopsticks in seconds after first not knowing how to pick things up with them. And Haru, being the sweet boy/young man he is, goes to get a spoon and fork for the guy, but then is amazed that the tall, blonde foreigner dude would master chopsticks in one go? This makes me think back to when Haru was carving a massive amount of Iwatobi-chans in high school, haha.

3) He floats around in the water like Haru does, but he is ahead of Haru.

So this is where things became interesting for me. During the episode, we find out that Haru is one of three Hidaka University Swim Team members to enter the strengthening camp in preparation for the All-Japan Meet (in addition to the older Mikoshiba and Isana Kiryuu). In the middle of swimming, Haru sees Albert swimming next to him, and then we flash to the two of them floating underwater like Haru did for the last three seasons.

But, Albert is ahead of Haru the entire time.

Why does this mean anything? For the entire franchise, we have never seen anyone swim ahead of Haru. This makes sense, because Haru was known for his affinity and love for the water, unclouded from the influences of competitions, friendly rivalries, and societal expectations. More commonly, we saw Haru’s friends follow behind and try their darnedest to reach his level. Haru is the hero that his friends needed during troublesome, lonesome, and confusing times, and Haru is also a source of strength for young men like Rin, Ikuya, and Makoto to strive for their goals. To do this, Haru has to be ahead of them in the water.

Now that we see this difference with Albert’s appearance, even if you haven’t watched the episode and read this post first instead, you may be able to infer what happens when Albert, Haru, and other swimmers at the camp have a friendly 200m freestyle race against each other.

And this is where our latest cliffhanger begins.

We don’t know how Haru reacts to this loss, as it is the first time that someone out swam him by so many bodies that I won’t even try to count. I mean, the guy was out of the water by the time Haru reached the wall . Knowing Haru, he might react in one of two ways. 

One, he may be devastated. After all, freestyle is his forte, and for his entire life he has been known as a prodigy in this specific stroke. It is okay if Haru lost the IM in the last episode; after all, he does not regularly compete in backstroke, breaststroke, or butterfly, and Ikuya has more experience in this specific event than Haru does anyway. But, when it comes to freestyle, the only characters we have seen who are on-par with Haru are Rin, Ikuya, and maybe Asahi, but nobody has surpassed Haru to this degree. As such, no wonder everyone in the pool is shocked by this revelation, including Makoto, who ran in just as this scene unfolded. Losing to this extent for the first time his life can be upsetting and frustrating at the same time, and I wonder whether Haru will express such a natural human response.

Two, if Haru is as positive as Asahi is, then Haru may see Albert as someone to look up to and strive for. Although this is less likely, purely because the human psyche does not always work this way, I sincerely hope that this is the way he reacts to his loss. For all of Haru’s life, he has had companions, rivals, and supporters who have been by his side, but never has he had someone to directly look up to. In particular with swimming, Haru has been in his own world this entire time. Why? He is the only one of his friends who has an innately keen relationship with water, and it is Haru’s affinity with water that Albert picks up on immediately after swimming/floating together. 

Haru has never had anyone float so freely with him in the water until now (we could potentially count the pool scene with Makoto in the High Speed! movie, but that was part of their reconciliation. This scene, however, is purely one of connection). Also, the fact that Albert sees swimming as fun is refreshing and an epiphany, both for Haru and for us as viewers. It not only implies that Albert may have just as strong as an affinity with water as Haru does, but also that Albert’s love for water may surpass that of Haru. Should this be the case, then Haru may be forced once again to confront his own beliefs with regards to his love for swimming, his skills, and his ability to swim on the global stage.

I wish the best for Haru. After all, Ryuuji (who we find out is an Iwatobi High School Swim Team alum, thanks to Gou’s amazing muscle-identifying skills) has mentioned before the Haru still a ways to go with regards to improving, and Albert may be the key to unlocking that potential. Plus, Albert honestly seems like a nice person, so I hope that he and Haru can get along. The fact that Haru still has that much room for growth, maturity, and progression, both literally in his swimming and figuratively in his own life, is what truly kept my attention with the latest episode of “Free!” and is allowing me look past some of the other flaws with this season. And, I hope that this tidbit is enough to keep you guys interested in the series and in the boys’ story as well.

(Albert, despite his size, reminds me of a little boy. Perhaps his personality truly is that of one, since he seems to be drawn to old arcade games and finds everything fun. He even whines like a boy when the waitress rips the meal ticket >.<, which is just so endearing and makes me want to hug him)

Dust-Tone Interview: Sweatson Klank (fka TAKE)

Sweatson Klank (formerly known as Take) is nothing short of a musical pioneer. Having been at the center of the ever-growing beats community for almost two decades now, Tom Wilson has helped engineer the creative environment that is known and loved today. You can find his discography scattered amongst nearly a dozen revered labels (including Project: Mooncircle, All City, Friends of Friends, Poo-Bah, Alpha Pup and more). He has also produced an extensive collection of official DJ mixes for beloved radio stations and collectives (BBC, dublab, BTS, Low End Theory, Brainfeeder and many more). Most important to note however is his paramount Sketchbook night which laid the foundation for the famed Low End Theory and the fertile Los Angeles beat community as a whole in the early-mid 2000′s.

While Sweatson Klank is both busy with musical projects and running the label Tone and Manor, we were fortunate enough to sit down and get his perspective on the current musical climate.

Dust-Tone: When did you first start making music and what got you interested in it? Early influences?

Sweatson Klank: I started making music when i was 13. I had a deep connection to music really early on. I got a guitar and took lessons for a year. From there on I jammed with my friends and eventually started a couple little bands in High School. I also got a bass and started playing bass a little here and there. These bands were just little garage bands where we would play parties and wherever we got invited to play, but it was good fun and I learned a lot from those experiences. When i got to college i quickly started looking for other musicians to form a band with but had trouble finding people I related to musically. Around that time I went to a huge house party off campus and really got my first taste of what a dj was truly capable of. This guy, who later became a good friend was rocking a crown of about 300 people with just turntables, records and a mixer. Mind you, this was well before cdjs or Serato. At the time is was still really special to witness a dj playing records and doing so with a technical prowess I hadn't ever seen before. I had an epiphany, that night. I watched this dj just control a crowd and they were loving it. I had been having trouble forming a new band because I had a really strong opinion of what i wanted it to sound like and others didn't seem to see eye to eye with me. I was always telling people how to play and what to play with their instruments. As you can imagine, no one really liked that hahaha. Little did i know i was a producer in the making. I had all these ideas but I wasn't capable of playing them or truly expressing them yet. So back to this party, I was shocked to see this dj setting the vibe and expressing himself through playing records. I sat there all night bugging him to let me try it. Of course, he kept saying no, get lost. Finally as it got later and he got drunker, he told me " If you want to make a fool of yourself go ahead" and handed me the headphones. I had never touched a turntable or mixer in my life, but i had been watching him do it all night. So i got up there and started flipping through his records, which i knew absolutely nothing about, they were all house records. The only record i knew was a Micheal Jackson record - " Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" so i grabbed it and somehow magically blended a perfect mix on my first try and the crowd went nuts!! Most likely because it was MJ and that song gets any party hype hahah.. So i grabbed another record i didn't know and tried again and completely train wrecked and the dj grabbed the head phones back from me and went back on. That one moment of glory though was enough to set it all off for me. The next week i was at his house begging him to teach me and practice on his turntables. Its just snowballed from there. i was hooked, started buying records, eventually got turntables, a club night, started dj'ing all over. I learned to dj playing house music but i was much more into Hip Hop and Funk and Soul. After about a year, i realized i wanted to actually make tracks and not just be a dj. So i got a drum machine, and then a sampler, and a four track and there you have it, i was on my way to doing what i still love to do today.

DT: What are you currently listening to? Does this affect the evolution of your current sound? Do you find yourself holding onto influences and themes of the past over new music tendencies or is how you make music flowing more with the changing of the times?

SK: That question is pretty difficult because I listen to so much music all the time. I really don't listen to any one style of music constantly. I love to discover old music that I didn't know. Record collecting is still one of my favorite hobbies so Im constantly finding stuff from the past that is incredibly inspiring and influential in the music i make today. I think i am much more inspired by the sounds of the past than i am the sounds of most fo todays music. As an artist, your tastes are constantly evolving, and to me thats a beautiful thing. It shows your own growth, and life is all about growing. When I am not in the studio working, i generally prefer to listen to old records. Jazz, Brazilian, African, weird electronic library records, New Age music and i love 80's Soul/R&B boogie stuff!

DT: You've been a pretty important staple in the "beat scene" for over a decade now. Low End Theory (which has now sadly come to a finale), Dublab, AllCity, Warp, Ghostly, Poobah, Project Mooncircle, even BBC and so many more love you. You are the modern hero to the independent beat maker. Do you feel like growing up on the west coast had any impact on early exposure to this musical way of thought? Able to meet the right people, get pushed in the right directions, etc?

SK: Thanks man, so nice of you. I think just having a forward thinking attitude about music and life really helped me most. Low End was a great place that helped me get noticed and meet tons of incredible people who shared similar perspectives on music. Before Low End though, we had a night called Sketchbook which was essentially an early version of all of that. Our goal was just to push the weirder left field side of hip hop and downtempo electronic music before it was actually cool. It was an uphill battle at first but but we just did it out of love for the music and a passion to play stuff no one else was playing.

DT: How has the "beats" community changed since you first entered it? Some would argue what was once a niche LA sound has spread worldwide and transformed through the different cultures. Does this influence your music?

SK: When we started doing this, it was just our own form of expression, we had no idea it would eventually grow into the "Beat Scene"  and now in turn,  people call it Lo Fi hip hop.. i just laugh. Its all good. I think there are tons of great producers out there making really interesting beats!! So Im happy to maybe have been a part of the birth of whatever the movement wants to call itself now. I think I am more in awe and influenced by the OG's than the new comers. To me everyone has one great record in them.. But to put out great music for years and years, thats a different story. That is what inspires and influences me the most. When i leave this earth, I want to leave behind a vast catalog of musical creations, regardless of if any of it was commercially successful or popular. Just like most of the records I admire most from 30-40 years ago. They were never hugely popular, but they were incredible!

DT: What is your creative process like? Do you start with the tool or from the imagination? Or both? Do you find yourself ever using traditional methods for making music or do you normally stick to the DAW? (which DAW/gear do you use?)

SK: My process really varies. Sometimes I start with a sample, other-times i just lay out a chord progression on the piano or a synth and build from there. I try to find new ways to tap into creativity so that im not bored. There is really no one single approach to making music. I use Ableton as my main DAW but I also use a ton of external instruments like synths, guitars, bass, drum machines, percussion instruments, vinyl samples.

DT: Fine Lines, your latest release from FoF Music is incredible. Did you have a specific aural goal with this album or did you just create and let the sound emerge naturally? Are you currently working on anything for the future or currently focusing more on support for your latest release? Anything exciting planned for 2019?

SK: With the 'Fine Lines' album I really wanted to create a cohesive album that embodied a specific vibe. How that vibe is perceived is up to the listener of course, but i sought out to make something that was indicative of my life during the making of these songs. In its most basic explanation its a story of growth, love, battling darkness both inner and outer and the never ending search for true happiness hahha. Yes I have a bunch of stuff slated for 2019. First off i just launched my label Tone and Manor. We just released our first compilation " All Over the Place" Vol. 1 and have Vol. 2 coming out in November.   The Tone and Manor label is a passion project of mine. I teach music production at Point Blank Music Academy and I mentor a lot of young producers and beginners and the label is a way for me to help some of them get their music out there into the often confusing music sphere. I also have a new album coming out in 2019.. Im really excited about that. For this one I am really going back to my roots. Analog synths, samples, instruments and in general a more organic vibe to the music. Its getting closed to finish and im really hyped to share it when its ready. The first single will likely come out early 2019.

DT: Do you find that switching your name brought any confusion? Do Sweatson Klank and TAKE focus on separate sounds or do they have a similar theme you aim for?

SK: Switching my name from Take to Sweatson Klank was purely for the reason that Take became increasingly impossible to find online, being that its a verb used in every other sentence. It was a bit hard at first to re-brand but im glad i did it. The sound has always been me. Its the evolution of me as an artist. If i was still TAKE the songs I've released as Sweatson Klank would be the same. It was really just a name change, not a style change. The intention hasn't changed.

DT: Please recommend something you're currently listening to, favorite place to get food in LA (are you an LA native), and a film or book if you have had time to indulge.

SK: Currently as i write this i am listening to a track from 1985 called 'Plastic Love' by a Japanese Female Soul artist named Mariya Takeuchi. The list of things i listen to could fill up 3 pages hahaha. Lets just say i listen to everything!!! I stay up on the latest hip hop, house, techno but I find more pleasure in digging through old records and discovery things from different times and countries!! Yes, I would say I am an LA native, I moved here from Paris, France when I was 5. Favorite place to eat really depends on the mood! Sushi Gen in Little Tokyo is definitely a regular in my rotation. Character Name: Jasper Pitzen  Why did you choose this character:

I’m going to be honest and say it: I chose Jasper out of fear. Yep, I really did. When choosing characters, I usually play it safe and go with a personality type I feel comfortable writing. Time and time again I wind up playing the same character and it’s hard to tell if I’ve actually been growing as a writer. After a while, writing was beginning to lose its enjoyment for me. I felt stuck. I tend to shy away from super-serious political or government-related type characters as I feel I don’t have the knowledge to write them convincingly–research or not. They intimidate me. Now, I’m taking a chance with this app, conquering that fear the best way I can. It’s like that saying: “you won’t know until you try,” right?

To get down to specifics, I found the contrast between the younger “party-animal” Jasper (pun intended?) with the current straight-laced activist to be very interesting. I love symbolism and foreshadowing, so those two aspects of his life give me ample room to play around a little; I get to see how deep into Jasper’s character I can go in order to breathe life into him.

Additionally, Jasper is a character who’s out in the public eye constantly, so being careful with his words is a given. That allows me to put more thought (than usual) in what I’m typing out, to make sure things make sense for the questions that may arise. Jasper’s so different from myself that the extra effort needed to make him appear polished is very crucial to me.

Describe your plan for them:

As soon as I read Jasper’s bio and connections with the other characters, I saw him as this heartless, teasing, snobby rich kid who slides on a nice face for the cameras, but isn’t above threatening another supernatural to change their ways in order to make himself look better. With words that form riddles as well as threats, Jasper has more at stake and tends to lash out because of it. He’s not a villain…though that depends on who you ask. I love that duality about him; the way his character carries so many interpretations and how he’s each and every one of them when the situation calls for it. There’s so much negativity surrounding his character from the other supernaturals that there has to more to it than “he took my job” or “he can’t be trusted.” Jasper’s actually full of self-hatred and heart that he tries to hide for the sake of staying strong for his community. And that’s something what I want to focus on down the road.

Jasper seems to be so put together that I want to see him have a breakdown. Whether it’s from losing a part of the freedom he’s working so hard to gain or getting close enough to another and losing them, I want him to feel that raw emotion he’s been pushing aside since the day his wolf gene was triggered. I want him doing something really uncharacteristic, like seeking help from another in tears.

Furthermore, throughout the course of the story, I plan on having Jasper struggling to make allies of the other characters as he’s trying to understand their dislike of him. He wants them all registered with the database system, believing his work representing them is doing them a service; it’s possible that he’s tangling the web further. I want to have him questioning his identity, his self-confidence, and what it means to be a leader. Are his motives pure or clouded over with ulterior ones? Could that change over time? If possible, I’d really love to explore that.

Describe your character’s feelings and reactions to the initial reveal of the supernatural world:

Jasper was in complete shock. As he was just coming back to everything, just getting used to hiding the supernatural side of himself, he’s suddenly pushed out into the open. Before Jasper has a chance to fully self-identify as being a werewolf and adjust to the new life in a densely-populated area as New York City, he’s alone for the first time against a world he doesn’t recognize. He chose to fade into the background as he’s done for the past few years, but that plan was ruined when he was chosen to be on the Council. Unsure of what to do with the status and reluctant to take the power, Jasper finally decides that standing out with others at his side was more likely to save his life than to go about things alone with a greater risk of being killed. There is strength in numbers; it is that strength that built the Jasper Pitzen the Council needed.

Describe your character’s feelings and reactions to the current state of the world, and how it impacts them as an individual:

When the supernatural community lost the Council again, Jasper felt as though he left with it. He clung to the Council as part of the identity he was still searching for in the time that had elapsed. He spent days moping on the couch in his apartment or the stools in various bars, watching as the same people he fought to protect run past the city limits. He began to hear whispers of an uprising on darkened streets from those who supported the Council and demanded freedom. Wanting to feel that same passion he felt within the Council, Jasper joined what is the beginning of the Resistance in hopes of saving his people. Being thrust into the spotlight because of his disappearance and now because of his previously-hidden identity had left Jasper enjoying it more than he ought to. He’s having a piece of the life he could’ve had if his inner wolf never forced him to leave. It’s as if he’s playing the part of the bachelor again, kissing up to audiences purely for entertainment. He knows he has a job to do in promoting equality, but there’s a fine line between the two that he doesn’t mind crossing from time to time.

“…and that’s my goal. World peace. An innocent little wish–something said by a child at the end of a holiday movie–but its meaning has grown immensely as of late; this isn’t something to make light of. We need to act on it now. Think about it. With all the violence going on in these times, would you want the children of our future harboring such seeds of hatred? Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to pass on wisdom and love? My question to you is this: How would you like to be remembered?”

The roar of applause from the studio audience brought a grin to Jasper’s face. He snuggled deeper into the cushions of the chair he sat on, posture perfect, the very definition of confidence. The daytime host beside him nodded in approval and for a moment, everything was glorious. It was if answering that question ended the battles between supernaturals and humans. The sky would offer rays of gold, the birds would sing Pit-zen! Pit-zen…the credits would start rolling—

“And now questions from our viewers at home!” The sing-song voice of the host ended the applause, along with Jasper’s illusion. She tossed the cards in her hands over her shoulder, pulling out a new set from underneath her chair’s cushion.

Jasper’s eyes widened and his mouth fell open.

What the hell?!

The supernatural spokesman recovered quickly, however, motioning the host closer so he could whisper in her ear, “We never agreed to this!”

“My show, my rules!” The host sat back in her chair while Jasper tried masking his anger. She flipped through a few cards before landing on one with a satisfied hum. “Okay, so werewolves have lots of fur, correct? How often do you shave? And do you shave everything?”

The audience roared once more.Jasper lowered his head into his hands.

Damn those curious humans!

Ever since the supernatural world had been exposed, questions were thrown as quickly as punches. Humans who were pro-supernatural—or curious in general—wanted to know more about the lives living alongside their own. And since Jasper Pitzen was front-and-center fighting for supernatural equality, he was the target of such nonsense. He had left the show’s studio later that day to find “Pitzen is the pits” smeared on the side of his limousine in dog shit. When he arrived at his apartment complex, a woman walking her dog asked if he could translate her dog’s barking for her. To which Jasper replied “may you and your dog have a fantastic day!” He finally made it to his room’s door, where another bag of dog food was waiting for him.

Shit!

And then there was the press conference. Oh, God. The press conference. Supernatural lovers and haters alike crowded the entrance of the building. It was there that a man asked if Jasper could hear his boyfriend cheating on him from the other side of the city (as if the area around them wasn’t loud enough), some people threw trash at him, a handful of people wanted autographs (Jasper even signed someone’s ass!), and a group of women wanted him to bite them.

“Bite them.” Jasper had told his bodyguard, “They wanted me to bite them. This isn’t some teen werewolf drama on TV. This is real life. The bite is a curse.”

What made matters worse was that Jasper didn’t get flak from the humans, but from his peers and other supernaturals as well. They laughed at him, asking him random werewolf questions they already knew the answers to just to get a reaction. It amazed Jasper how they acted as if their lives weren’t on the line, as if this was one big joke. Fighting for equality was never easy; these added obstacles made things much harder.

Was anyone actually listening to him if they were laughing?

As much as Jasper loved the celebrity treatment, was it hurting his chances of repealing the very laws that bound him to a life of scrutiny? Were the humans slowly seeing him as an equal?

Some days Jasper wanted to go back to his life of partying, doing lines of cocaine and sleeping with as many people his king-sized bed could hold. Instead he was subjected to moments of sitting on the floor in the fetal position, rocking back and forth as the tears kept flowing, wishing everything would just stop.

But the world doesn’t stop for anyone. Not even Jasper Pitzen.

Running, running and not stopping, while the sun goes down.

It's the end of the afternoon. Her feet almost don't touch the ground, each jump closers her to the sky, then she has to get back to the earth, long brown hair dancing behind her back like a living wave.

It's so easy to get off the hill, while going up is more difficult, but who cares ? At this moment, only the excitement of the run matters.

The wind is sharp, but the woods enlightened. Tree branches slapping her face, nimble legs trying to avoid the roots.

Here comes the end.

She flows from the forest, lands into the light, onto the dusty road. Down the hill stands the village, first mark of civilization. It's a beautiful day, between the emerald mountains. A powerful breath of wind hits the hills and mountain range, and the tiny valley embedded between them. Green or black, there are only woods everywhere, imposing and impenetrable. Here and there are also some impressive ochre cliffs. In this place the wild nature has all rights, we humans are so meaningless against it. The wind has a strong blow, messing her hairs, but it's fresh and pleasant. She could swear it has a voice.

It's time to run again.

Jump and dodge the obstacles, land into a massive rock to fly away, then reduce the violent impact with the ground by catching branches. Rise on your feet, and continue.

Don't stop thinking. Always considering the next move, using the environment around to go faster, but you must control you speed.

Her father taught her so much.

Now, she's one with the wind.

She jumps again, to arrive on a roof. She left the altitude, here's the bottom town.

She knows how to control her weight, her balance so that she doesn't damage the shingles and won't fall. She catches a thin wall, playing funambulists, carefully, then runs again onto the next house.

She hears a cry, looks down. This idiot of Lewis is bullying a little one with his band of morons, again.

Welp. Don't say she didn't warn him.

She goes back, takes a run-up, and dips down, yelling her battle cry.

- It's HIGH NOON !

Fear paints on the teenagers' faces, while she lands between them.

- It's Dragonna ! shouts one of them. Run, run !

But she's faster and blocks the alley's exit, forbidding any escape. Her smile is creepy.

- Please ! beg almost all the teens. It was Lewis' idea, not ours !

She shrugs, demonstrating that they are all guilty. Then moves quickly and slaps all their faces, a warning for the future, before blocking Lewis against a wall. She's smaller than him, but also stronger. He sees with despair his band running away.

- Just you and me now. How many ?

- Wh-what ?

- How many children did you bully ?

- O-only this one, I-I swear !

- I will ask in town what you did these last days, and if I discover you've lied to me, you will wish not to have been born.

He swallows and gives three names, begging for mercy between two words. Then the pain comes between his legs, unbearable, and he collapses down onto the ground, breathless. She gripes his hair and rises carelessly his head. Her stare is easy to read.

- I won't start again, I promise…

She exhales and slams his face on the ground. When she gets up, the little child is looking at her, stars in his eyes.

- Thank you so very much ! You came from the sky like some cool superhero ! You're so badass, ma'am !

- I'm only thirteen.

- Oops, sorry ! But I insist, thank you for helping me, miss, uh… Dragonna !

- No, she says coldly.

- What ?

- The name's Sarah.

- Oh… Sorry again. But why do they call you Dragonna then ?

She gives no response, but points at her right arm. And at this moment only he notices the impressive tattoo. All the skin is covered by crimson dragons' scales, with here and there delicate pink petals flowers, and some touches of golden paint.

- I can't believe your parents let you make a tattoo…

She shrugs again. No need to tell him the true story. Then the boy rises a hand.

- My name is Thomas, I've just arrived in town. It's really nice to meet you !

New one here ? Well that would be interesting. She greets him with a smile and shakes friendlily his hand. Then she steps back, waves at him before climbing the wall like some incredible ninja, and disappearing from his gaze.

To climb the hill, she always takes her time. She likes to contemplate the landscape. This hour of the day is one of the most beautiful. The twilight is coming down, gently shadowing the atmosphere. The last sunsets stretch the silhouettes of trees and hers, as if some giants were hiding under an innocent-looking skin. A palette of gold, pink and purplish is coloring the sky, and the light makes the cloud purple, like some funny marshmallows. They look so easy to catch, as if they were in front of your nose. The leaves crack under feet and some rocks roll, before she enters into the woods.

While the humans go to sleep, life here is awakening. Owls are hooting, crickets are whispering a peaceful song, here a bat is flying quickly and there is the breath of a strong animal, ground cracking under its weight. The environment is dark, and she's surrounded by various sounds, leading her in the shadows.

Then, she hears someone shouting her name. She starts to hurry, and finally the trees spread apart. Between the trunks stands an half-rustic half-futurist house, and in front of it a man is cutting wood with an axe, shirtless, and calling sometimes the name of the girl.

- Good evening, dad Jesse !

The man gets up and smiles at his daughter, sweat running on the skin of his torso.

- Hello there, little fella ! I see ya've kept yer promise.

- Coming back before the night falls, yes sir ! Where is dad Hanzo ?

- He finished cookin' a quarter of hour ago, so he's practicin' with the bow behind the house. Go get 'im so we all can clean our faces before dinner.

- Sure you need a bath, you big stinking bear !

- I heard ya !

But she runs away before he can catch her. In the training area, filled with weapons, dummies and targets, Hanzo was shooting his arrows, focusing, when she arrives. Because he hears his daughter coming, the Japanese man stops what he's doing.

- Good evening, Tousan.

- Good evening, Sakura, he says tenderly as he patted her head.

When she was just a little baby, her fathers couldn't agree about her name, so they ended up with two instead of one, Sakura Sarah, because both almost sounded like the other.

Hanzo wasn't her biological father, Jesse was. But in her mind, a father is the one who takes care of her, she doesn't care about blood ties.

She is always laughing when her dads tell her how they got their daughter. They went to a marriage party, and as usual McCree drank too much and ended up drunk. But in the crowded place, Hanzo lost his partner because this big idiot thought it was Hanzo he was seducing, while it was an unknown woman looking like the Japanese. And then McCree woke up in her bed, without a single memory of how he came here and leaving the place in panic, while Hanzo was stressed as hell, alone in their house. After some explanations in front of an angry Hanzo, the Japanese forgave the cowboy, both forgetting the incident. So it was quite a surprise when the woman reappeared some months later, furious and pregnant. She didn't want to keep the baby and almost ordered them to raise the child. At Jesse's surprise, Hanzo agreed, with discret happiness in his eyes. The bowman had been thinking for a long time about having children. He talked sometimes about it with Jesse, and since the opportunity had been here, why refuse it ? When the baby was born, Jesse and Hanzo were recognised as the official fathers, and they never saw the woman again. Whenever he was telling this story, Hanzo always remembered the first time he took Sakura in his arms, a tiny creature looking at him with her huge, shining red eyes.

Although, after this memory, he also see the tattoo, beginning to draw itself on her daughter's skin, when she was seven. None of them understood this event ; Sarah wasn't a Shimada, and yet the dragons chose her, they marked her, making her shivering of pain for months. It was a painful and horrible process for the little one, but all of this disappeared with her laugh, when she summoned the dragons for the first time. These creatures aren't only powerful spirit, but also the "animal" part of their owner. The two crimson dragons played around her like kittens, nuzzling with each people in the room, making the day of the little girl.

Hanzo go back to present when Jesse kisses him on the nose.

- Whatcha thinking, darlin' ? Ya look absent.

- Oh, nothing. Just remembering the past.

Jesse chuckles and presses his lips against Hanzo's. Then the two men enter the house. Each person takes a quick shower, before setting up the table. The evening's menu is miso soup with chili con carne, and home-made ice cream. The advantage with a Japanese father and a Mexico-American father is the diversity of plates, and Sakura Sarah just loves it.

- So, sweetie, asks Jesse while they are eating, whadidya do downtown ?

- Hey, how do you know ?

- You smell like cement and concrete, answers Hanzo.

- I was just hanging around in the city. I also punched some bullies.

- Great job, cariña ! laughed Jesse. Justice ain't gonna dispense itself !

- Was it the same boy from the last time ? Lewis ?

- Yes, Tousan, but now he learned his lesson. There is also a newcomer in town, Thomas. Maybe I will see him at the back-to-school.

- Sakura-chan, the holidays are almost over. Is it the same for your homeworks ?

- Dad, come on, I finished them at the beginning of holidays! You can remember it, you are not senile !

Jesse starts to laugh while Hanzo pokes his daughter on the forehead. Of course he knows his daughter did them, she is clever, but only using her cleverness when she wants to, what a waste. Then the tablet rings, with the typical melody of Genji's call. Sarah is faster and literally throws herself onto the couch, grabbing the tablet on the low table before any of the two men could react. She answers to the video chat with a big smile.

- Good evening, uncle Genji !

- Hello Sakura-chan, responds the cyborg, an amused light into his eyes. Then Angela also arrives on the screen, carrying a young child.

- How are you doing, Süsse ? gently asks the swiss, while the little boy waves excitedly at the teen.

- Sasa ! Sasa ! the eight-years-old shouts happily.

- I'm fine, thanks Aunt Angie. Hallo, Erwin ! So, did you get better at dancing ?

- Yeah ! You promise you will come to see me at my performance ?

- Of course, I won't miss it for any reason !

- Hi everyone ! greets Jesse, sitting near to his daughter, Hanzo on the other side.

The whole family discuss for a long time, about anything and everything. Outside, the night is coming, with a half moon beginning to rise.

Then, it's time to clear the table and the kitchen, before going to bed. Teeth cleans and wearing a huge floating nightgown, Sakura gives a kiss on the cheek to both her dads before laying on her bed. They quietly close her room's door, then head to their.

The room is dark, but filled with soft shadows, and the pale moonlight falls onto their bed like a soft spotlight, as if it is indicating that it's bedtime. The two men prepare themselves to sleep, but Hanzo stays sitting on the mattress, looking at the wistful celestial body. Jesse pulls an arm around his shoulders.

- Still nostalgic 'bout past, darlin' ?

- No, he replies as he embraces his lover and tenderly kisses him on the lips.

I can't believe that I am here. I made it to the Final 4. It is very crazy. I thought that I was toast in the Final 6. So to be here now is very exciting and shocking. The final 3 is going to depend on who wins immunity. I am really hoping that I could win this immunity to secure my spot in the final 3. If not then I hope that Matt doesn't win it. He needs to be an option just in case. I'm very nervous. I just finished my rites of passage. and its crazy that its almost final tribal.

so im getting 4th. FJKASDHFKJh this comp is so hard and like im literally not gonna be able to do endurance so i need to do well on the other stuff but i just dont see that happening... like this puzzle first try was 70 minutes FJKASDHFKAJS. Bryce won immunity. Im glad. I wouldnt want to be in the position to vote Bryce. I had to abstained from the counting part cuz it triggered my anxiety. I tried tho but i couldnt. So like i am leaving but its ok! why? cause i will preserve my legacy by dropping a whole ass fajita recipe here so that I can feel like i have made an IMPACT on the season. Even though like im still sad its me, im going out with a bang baby! I don't use this recipe personally ( I am a broke student) but its v.good!

Ingredients: 2 large chicken breasts, finely sliced 1 red onion, finely sliced (ready to make you cry) 1 red pepper, sliced 1 red chilli, finely sliced (optional) For the marinade 1 heaped tbsp smoked paprika 1 tbsp ground coriander pinch of ground cumin 2 medium garlic cloves, crushed 4 tbsp olive oil 1 lime juiced 4-5 drops Tabasco

Method: Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6 and wrap 6 medium tortillas in foil.

Mix 1 heaped tbsp smoked paprika, 1 tbsp ground coriander, a pinch of ground cumin, 2 crushed garlic cloves, 4 tbsp olive oil, the juice of 1 lime and 4-5 drops Tabasco together in a bowl with a big pinch each of salt and pepper.

Stir 2 finely sliced chicken breasts, 1 finely sliced red onion, 1 sliced red pepper and 1 finely sliced red chilli, if using, into the marinade.


Heat a griddle pan until smoking hot and add the chicken and marinade to the pan.

Keep everything moving over a high heat for about 5 mins using tongs until you get a nice charred effect. If your griddle pan is small you may need to do this in two batches.

To check the chicken is cooked, find the thickest part and tear in half – if any part is still raw cook until done.

Put the tortillas in the oven to heat up and serve with the cooked chicken, a bag of mixed salad and one 230g tub of fresh salsa.
