Glorious Masquerade spoilers #28

As Malleus is making his way to the stage, students begin to murmur amongst themselves. Student A is surprised to see real horns on Malleus. He realizes it’s Malleus Draconia from Night Raven College. Student B says it’s true, and is excited to meet that famous magician. Student C says it’s scary, but he feels an amazing magic. It was a great idea to come to the exchange meeting.

Epel comments that when Malleus began to walk, the crowd parted in half clearing a path for him. Deuce says that even outside the school, Malleus is respected. He’s proud and feels like he can’t lose. Sebek is teary eyed, saying that Malleus is shinning in the eyes of the people who have gathered at the ball. Malleus’s beautiful figure will be passed down from generation to generation from those who have attended this ball! Idia mutters that someone, somehow should deal with this “stuffy” Draconian. Aka Sebek.

Rollo welcomes Malleus offering the place next to him. Malleus thanks him. He is happy that they were able to gather tonight. Some people seem to rumor his name. But, now that they are at the ball regardless of their identity, they are now equally “magicians with a future”. Malleus wants them to think of him as a magician without a name. To show gratitude for the invitation to this wonderful gathering, Malleus has prepared a gift for them.

NBC student A wonders what kind of gift it is. NBC student B asks if it’s okay to receive it. Jamil points out that people are frightened. Ordinary students don’t call people of the same age they just met “you guys”. Ruggie chuckles. There’s a bit of tension, but that’s Malleus for you.

Rollo asks what Malleus by gift. What are they going to do? Azul tells Rollo not to be so vigilant. It’s a special gift that he prepared as proof of friendship. He asks Rollo to enjoy the ball with all his heart.

Idia tells Malleus and Azul to stop. The difficulty is too high. Malleus pays him no mind, and asks everyone if they’re ready. Now, let’s begin an unforgettable night. Let’s have fun together!

Rollo recognizes the song to be passed down in the City of Flowers since ancient times. A song sung by a man who admired the bell, and yearned and hoped for a brighter future. Why…would Night Raven College sing this song…? Trein asks Rollo if he’s interested. Rollo is surprised to see him. Trein tells him he doesn’t have to be so nervous. Draconia suggested to everyone that he wanted to prepare a gift to Noble Bell College. Rollo is surprised Malleus did that. Trein says that Malleus was very happy to have been invited to the exchange meeting. It was his thank you.

It was gratitude. Is that why Malleus wanted to do the ball so much?

Malleus: ♪Ring the bell, carry my wish

Malleus: ♪Reaching out my hand for a warm dream again today

Rollo grumbles, saying it’s a waste.

Idia: ♪Aah, if I’m allowed

Azul: ♪Let’s live together with joy and sorrow

Malleus: ♪Please let the light guide me to the shared love I saw in a dazzling dream

Malleus:♪To the future—

Rollo closes his eyes as memories resurface.

“I like magic. Do you know why?”

“When I use magic… big brother is happy!”

“More and more, let’s play a lot together!”

“It’s a promise, big brother.”

Rollo remains quiet for a while. Eventually, he says it’s ridiculous…truly… Truly…….

Rollo grows quiet again. But, he admits that Malleus gave him a wonderful gift. He tells the crowd to give the future magicians of Night Raven College a round of applause. The crowd errupts into applause and cheer as confetti rains down on the NRC boys, their performance now over.

Malleus says that the applause is echoing throughout the room. He can see that everyone is thrilled with their song. He’s pleased. Azul says he was correcting in suggesting they use the song as a gift. Idia says he used a lifetime’s worth of courage just now. Grim, upset, asks the boys if they’ve been practicing. Yuu says they had no idea.

Deuce tells Grim that he wasn’t aware they would also be coming along to the exchange meeting. Otherwise, he would have practiced with them. Malleus explains that he consulted the students in the dorms and Ashengrotto, and thought there was no more fitting gift. The song, “Make A Wish”, is about the bell ringer. It is sung during festivals and celebrations in the City of Flowers, and the lyrics connects and resounds with people. Lilia told him about it. Don’t they think it’s a befitting song to gift? Sebek agrees. He wants to thank all the magicians who have gathered for giving him an unprecedented gift.

Trein approaches the boys and remarks to think they held the ball while he was resting. Deuce is shocked to see him, and Epel begins making excuses. However, Trein tells him not to worry. He adds that he will be working with NBC staff, and keeping an eye on Flamme. Even though he’s a student from another school, he’s still a future magician. As for them, he heard from the headmage that they were practicing their singing. He can’t believe they prepared such a wonderful gift. Their careful consideration is why they’re students at the prestigious Night Raven College. Trein asks Yuu to take a picture of the scene. He has to tell the headmage and the others about this moment. He’s certain everyone will be happy, and envy to have wanted to see it.

Rook suggests taking pictures of Malleus, Idia, and Azul. The three main vocalists were decided by the magical lottery box borrowed from the headmage. Heaven does a wonderful job. It was one of the best songs with the three people’s solid singing voices intertwining exquisitely. Idia is shocked to learn that the three dorm leaders were chosen by luck. The lottery box is controlled by probability. They should destroy it! Azul says he’s honored to be chosen as a main vocalist. He asks how his singing was. Riddle asks if they even need to praise him. Azul knows it was amazing! Jamil says he leaves no chances…Azul is truly an unpleasant guy. Azul tells him that is the best compliment. Oh, it was good to have won the lottery!

Deuce tells Azul he was amazing. Epel wants to hear his singing again after they return to school. Even Vil will be surprised. Azul says being praised by them feels so good. He says it’s not bad to be admired with respect by underclassmen once in a while.

Rook tells Idia to stop hiding behind the pillars. He should come on out. He had such a beautiful singing voice. Idia screams to stop it already~~~! He asks Rook not to touch the freshly made wound with sticky bare hands~~~! Silver tells him he can’t help but praise him. It was a good song. Sebek agrees. Idia also supported the young master’s beautiful singing voice. Rook says that Idia must’ve practiced a lot. His singing was so comfortable, that he wants to listen to it all the time. Idia says the reason he practiced was because if he skipped, a certain housewarden would glare daggers at him that it seemed like lightning would strike him down, so Idia had no choice.

Ruggie tells Idia he hated it so much that he was chosen, but in the end, he did something good. Somehow, it was really delicious, Idia-san! Idia whines that it’s not like that!! If you put your mind to it, you can sing, but…it’s really not like that! Ruggie says he shouldn’t deny it.

Grim says that all three sounded so nice. He’s envious of them. I had Yuu ask Grim if he stands out when he dances. The other option has Yuu asking Grim if he sings also. Grim explains that when he dances, he has to jump up and down to match the other’s heights, so it’s hard. Suddenly, Grim says he will sing while Yuu dances around, and get everyone excited! He calls out to Idia, Azul, and Malleus, and tells them to dance with Yuu around him.

Idia is not having it. Dance!? What makes him think he’s gonna do it!? Accumulate more dark history to the song!? Azul says it’s fine if Grim is just going to dance with Yuu. But, he’ll charge him for compensation, if he’s just going to make a spectacle.

Sebek realizes Malleus is gone. Without him, nothing will start. Silver sees that it’s true. There’s no sign of Malleus. He wonders if he got lost in the crowd of guests at the ball. Silver says they have to find him quickly. Grim can’t believe Tsunotarou is lost. What a troublesome job.

Elsewhere, Malleus approaches Rollo, and calls out to him. Rollo asks him if he’s enjoying himself. Malleus replies yes. It’s a great night. He thanks Rollo for hosting the ball. Suddenly, Malleus asks Rollo to dance to one song with him.

Rollo is a little stunned. With him? After a pause, Rollo declines. He doesn’t like dancing. Besides, Malleus seems to be popular. There are plenty of people who want to dance with him. He should dance with the other guests. Malleus hums. He asks Rollo if he’s really going to decline his request as an invited guest?

Rollo says it can’t be helped when Malleus puts it that way. He tells Malleus to give him his hand. Cue the most longest, most awkward silence between these two. They’re just staring at each other while they dance!🤣🤣🤣 Why can’t we get a good visual of this?

After a while, Malleus wonders why Rollo is so quiet. He asks him what he’s thinking. Rollo says he’s imagining despair, and tells Malleus he’s become so complacent. Oh dear. Malleus tells Rollo that’s really funny. He was thinking back on the exchange meeting. The City of Flowers is a beautiful place. The townscape and people are good, too. He also enjoyed the gastronomy. Noble Bell College is also a nice, quiet school. There’s a wonderful gargoyle which makes him quite envious. And…he was able to meet this funny man who was able to make him feel scared for a moment. Rollo stays quiet. Malleus adds that he’s grateful to Rollo for giving him this wonderful memory.

After a pause, Rollo tells Malleus he’s an arrogant man. He hasn’t given up. He will never forgive magicians who are wallowing in power like Malleus. A villain like him is destined to bring great calamity. Someday without fail...no matter how many years it takes, Rollo vows to definitely take away that arrogant smile from Malleus with magic. That is his mission. Malleus tells him he’ll accept his invitation at any time. Malleus says that they will one day meet again under the Bell of Salvation. Malleus tells Rollo Flamme that he looks forward to that day.

Today is work besties last day and I've already cried three times 😔

One of my cats had to be put to sleep today. He was diagnosed with leukemia and had total kidney failure so we decided to just end his suffering. I'm glad we gave him a happy life and a safe home for the last year and a half but it also breaks my heart that he died so young. The chances of Ozzy contracting it are super low but considering they lived together for a year and a half I really need to get him tested.

Grief/grieving never gets easier, I've lost 4 people close to me in the last 2 years 😭

We lost my amazing cousin 4 days ago, he was only 39. He had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, had surgery about 2 weeks ago to remove it since it was stage 3. But, I think, it was just to much for his body to handle 😭 and the scariest part, is he had been suffering with really bad headaches and that's how he got diagnosed, and I've suffered with horrendous and debilitating migraines my whole life. We have the visitation tomorrow, and it's going to be so hard.

If you take anything from this post, hug your loved ones, tell them you love them. Because you never know if you'll unexpectedly lose them 💔🙏 and please keep my family in your prayers.
