like i said before i genuinely dont think we're getting the fuu song any time soon i think its more likely we get more info on the past group first maybe more on the current group too but i wonder if the fuu song is going to be part of one of those groups or is going to introduce a new one. clearly theres a lot we're missing with the past & honestly if the new timeline theory is correct then that group seems pretty solid to me. theres space in places for more absolutely as in what exactly lead to the events in oumen, & between oumen & laboratory unless labo is the one getting her to do the sacrifice but thats. a theory i'll have to look into when im not so tired, & after apoptosis theres a wide variety of ways to handle the aftermath of that although i dont know if that would be given a direct perspective or just reflected on by a future group. & of course theres really space between any of the songs that from lack of context we just dont see its there (as is standard with this series). & the past group is only STARTING to come together in a whole picture theres so much left to fill in there. but the girl in shoushitsu is also clearly part of a group herself & its not in direct contact with the other groups we currently know. whoever we'll meet in fuu could be part of any of those 3 groups or even some 4th one. i can go read over the lyrics again but i'll be real with u understanding shoushitsu by itself is a task. genuinely dont know if understanding shoushitsu or ashura is worse. it all remains to be seen but i am wondering now

this is sooooo them bc they should know better! they do know better! but here they are anyway! sokka and zuko entered into this thing with the intention of it being unserious and temporary. theyre just people who have sex, and then they become friends who have sex, and then friends starts to turn into something...else. but they've set these boundaries, so they can't be something else, so they pretend it's not happening. they keep saying casual and acting like their feelings aren't there, just to hold on to what they have, in the hopes that it'll be enough.

this part of the song is the most applicable to chapter 3 i think. the scene where sokka asks zuko to catsit while he's away at yue's wedding is so thick with romance it's a wonder they don't fucking choke on it. that whole exchange is so. like. they're lying to themselves. sokka gives zuko a key to his apartment. 24 hour access. a promise not to turn him away, that he is welcome and wanted always. and they both somehow convince themselves (and each other!) that this is a normal thing to offer your casual sex friend. olympic level mental gymnastics happening in that scene.

i finally saw ep1!! i wont be able to see ep2 until thursday at the earliest but i already have some Thots on this ep. here are the ones I remember

first is, and i'm so sorry for this, a grammar lesson. an appositive is when you stick an additional phrase in between commas, dashes, or the like. i actually just used one! the "and i'm so sorry for this" in the first sentence of this paragraph is an appositive. thing is, most english speakers don't normally use them when they speak, only in writing. so i'm always on high alert whenever i hear somebody in tv or movies use one. (it's generally a marker of bad screenwriting). anyway there was one right in the beginning of the episode. the white army guy yelling at sam wilson said "first lieutenant Torres, our intel officer, will be helping on the ground." yeah so. the writing of this series started out on the wrong foot for me. but the rest of the episode was obviously tons and tons better (every interview i see with malcolm spellman makes me love him more and more)

the contrast between the opening minutes (falcon action sequence) and the rest of the ep.... i would 100000/10 rather watch a series with just sam and bucky dealing with life. i dont give a single crap about the flag-smashers or any of that. i just want sam, sarah & fam getting their boating business back on the ground & yeeting racist dickwads, bucky going through therapy and making amends, sam and joaquin being bros, sambucky homoerotic tension, etc.

the cinnamontography! wandavision mostly used cinematography to signify era n stuff. tfatws doesn't have wv's premise to go off of, so here's some tricks i noticed:

with sam there's obviously all sorts of shots with the captain america iconography next to his face, but he hasn't totally claimed it. there's the mural of steve rogers in the background; there's sam staring into the shield like it's a spectre of steve's face; there's sam looking into the exhibit, the shield and sam separated by glass and a layer of camera focus. steve is a constant spectre, always there, an idea, a symbol himself. sam's relationship with this iconography is distanced. he is separated by glass exhibit walls. by painting canvases. he doesn't yet feel worthy to take on that iconography. this whole thing was pulled off quite well but also a bit on-the-nose if only in quantity. there's just sooooo much fancy iconography stuff

speaking of the exhibit, there's something that i get real pissy about. it's when like, there's an action going on you're supposed to be paying attention to but the cinematographer is like,,,, hey! check out this location! or this headline! or something! there was a lot of that in the exhibit. the camera was like, you could focus on sam and rhodey's convo (which was fine but could have been so much better with an extra like 10 minutes of deep character study talk) but noooo you want me to look at the symbol for the united nations and read all the text about bucky who hasn't even showed up yet. shut up i know the lore and ill watch the shot-by-shot breakdown yt vids you don't have to make the shot this long jkdsalcjklasejf

my fav trick was with bucky and the therapist. i had seen a clip of the scene with bucky and the therapist beforehand and i thought the cinnamontography was super obnoxious, but then i was like, oh duh. the shots frequently change the distance between the camera and its subject. sometimes it's uncomfortably close and sometimes it's really far. a clear allegory for the duality of therapy, esp for bucky! therapy is an invasive process wherein he is ruthlessly examined, picked apart, and berated for his trauma (this therapist is crap in every way btw, "mean therapist" works for greg house and greg house only). so the camera goes close. it makes the viewer claustrophobic like bucky. but when he's like "no i haven't had any nightmares" the camera suddenly goes really far. we see bucky as this tiny head in the center of the bottom of the frame. we are distanced from him. he has pushed us away. we cannot see him. he lies because he is vulnerable. so yeah, amazing work there. the therapy scene was hard to watch on purpose!

speaking of racism, the interplay between sam being Black (anti-Black racism) and sam being the Falcon (negrophilia, "can i take a selfie w you as i deny you a loan?") and the intersection between the two (j*hn lichrally called sam "steve's wingman"! he takes the crypto out of crypto-racist in like 2 seconds!) !!!!!!!! a Black celebrity's Black experience, the separation of man and identity!!!! (thinking about vanessa bayer in snl in that skit "beyonce is black" telling her black friend "you're not black, you're...my girl!")

after sam gets racially profiled by cops we see j*hn standing in front of cop cars cinematic parallels turns out j*hn is racist who knew

this therapist sucks major ass but she got bucky and sam together in the same room and ready to collaborate...that's something ig. it was lichrally couple's therapy she said she used her miracle exercise with couples sambucky antis get blended

bucky says "he was wrong about you so maybe he was wrong about me"...that's not how people talk. when therapist asks bucky, the guy who doesn't talk at all about himself, "y do you hate sam", the last thing bucky's gonna do is actually connect his hatred of sam to his own self-worth issues. bucky generally refuses to talk about himself, so why would he talk about himself in the one context that nobody ever links back to their own neuroses: hatred of other people? one thing human beings hate most is admitting we're wrong. admitting you hate someone because of your own issues? that's a major therapeutic step. bucky would absolutely have to be prompted to do that. even like one or two lines of dialogue more would have set up that line better. but in terms of the actual thought? an amazing way to take the sam/bucky relationship. bucky bases his self-worth on steve believing in him, and if steve is wrong bucky has no self-worth, so 1) he has to develop self-worth disassociated from steve's assessment of him and 2) he has to love himself before he can love sam, and 3) he has to realize that sam giving up the shield is a sign of sam's humility not his unworthiness.

conversely, we don't get into why sam hates bucky? yeah sam has the right to hate a guy that has tried to kill him (albeit while brainwashed) multiple times, and now shows up in his life just to bash him but. everything happens so fast i cant follow their relationship

in fact i dont feel like i understood much of anything. like y did bucky and sam go on that mission together? how connected are sam/bucky/joaquin with the government? doesn't bucky just want to retire now? literally what is everyone doing/feeling and why???

if battlestar becomes a knowing commentary on the black best friend stereotype i'm gonna party, but i dont expect much of that

Don't worry about getting this to me as early as possible. I usually don't watch the episode right away.

1. Cool writing lesson.

2. Everyone wants a comedy show [like Friends] about the MCU superheroes.

3. Cinematography is always a beautiful thing.

4. Sam definitely has to carve his own Captain America status for himself, outside of Steve's ya know everything.

5. They have to do that for people who was just now tuning in because they're in love with Sam Wilson or Sharon Carter.

6. I think the therapist was taking a 'tough love' approach for Bucky, because she likely has some very strong opinions about the literal assassin she's been assigned to give therapy too. She did not choose to talk to him, she was assigned that make that clear in the second episode.

And, Bucky isn't lying when he said it wasn't a nightmare. It wasn't a nightmare, it was a resurfaced memory. So, technically he wasn't lying - and yes, the camera does move away because while he's saying he didn't have a nightmare, he's not expanding on what actually happened - so, he's still pushing the therapist/us away.

1. Honestly, that line was double meaning. Both about White people and Hydra [which is made up of mostly white supremacists/nazis] So, the line is gesturing to both White People in general and Hydra assholes together. I think the terminology is “double edge sword”??

2. This whole paragraph structure confused me, ngl - so I'm going to answer it the best I can. I do like that they're not ignoring the fact that Sam being Black is 1000% the reason he's not the Official Captain America - because the gov't is racist as hell.

I also like the little lines about how they point out little things about Sam's Falcon persona, like that kid calling him 'Black Falcon' specifically and Sam's response show the split between Sam and Falcon itself.

John is a dick for calling Sam the wingman of Steve Rogers. Sam was a hero all on his own before Steve asked him to join up again. [Side note, it's lichrally??]

3. Exactly, the parallel of Sam being profiled and surrounded while just on the street and John being surrounded by fans and being able to spring Bucky with apparently only a few sentences shows a Loooooot

4. Honestly, at this point I wonder if she's not actually a therapist and is just an agent assigned to assess Bucky outside of an Official Building. I do know, however, that her 'look at each other and speak' exercise is actually a real therapy practice. It's just a little slower.

5. Actually, I think he would've blurted that out. That whole line. I don't think Bucky hates Sam. I think they could've done the scene better, but I think that had Sam prodded him/the therapist been more annoying Bucky would've lost control of his emotions and blurted out the whole "If he was wrong about you, he was wrong about me" but I feel like the writing for this show is just... not there. Sometimes you blurt shit when you get overemotional and I think that was what Bucky was supposed to be like.

6. I don't think Sam hates Bucky, I think he doesn't trust him though. I do wish they'd talked about that though. The whole 'talk to each other' scene should've been a LOT longer and a LOT slower.

7. Sam and Bucky's relationship is being fast tracked because they don't really know how to work the relationship out, writers-room-wise. Bucky is technically retired, but I feel like he's trying to live up to Steve's expectations and doing what Steve would've done and we all know that if Steve was there, Steve would've jumped on that plane with Sam. It looks like Sam/Bucky/Joaquin are a side-team based from Military services but as Sam says they're all free agents so...?

8. Sadly, They seem to just be propping up to be another stereotype.

9. Captain America is a symbol. Steve Rogers is a man. But now Steve Rogers is an idol because of all the shit he's been through and honestly, it's not a bad thing he's become an idol for people - it's using Steve as a reason to make White Bread Walker the next Captain that makes Steve's idolization so fucked.

10. I don't know anything about music so I have no opinion here, sorry.

12. Bucky is the Winter Solider. The Winter Solider is Bucky. That is how Bucky will always see it because although he was brainwashed, it was still him and he remembers all of it. When you have constant memories of something 'someone else' did, you tend to not be able to pull the two personas out of each other. I want Bucky to take up the title, White Wolf instead of Winter Soldier. Honest.

This is all my opinion, I’m honestly a little disappointed with the writing of TFATWS so far so... I’m not really optimistic about this.

SNEAK PEAK: The chaos in the morning for the official line to get the numbered wristbands. Soundcheck. Eye contact with Jungkook, Jimin and J-hope. BTS solos. CYPHER!!! Getting baptized by the holy J-hope. Throwing the two Mickey ears on the stage and making one of the most iconic SOPE moments in the history happen.

OKAY so, I arrived there at 6:30am because I had P1 GA with soundcheck and there was already a line outside the venue with a security guard In front. At 7:45~7:50am (as soon as the security sent a go signal) EVERYBODY RAN!! I mean RAN!! It was absolutely insane and TERRIFYING!! The sound of foodsteps was so loud and the pushing was so bad that people literally fell and others just ran over them!! And this happened RIGHT in front of me! I was so scared and felt so sorry for those people! There were people falling head first, injuring their knees n legs literally drawing blood! I was just running and couldn’t see where because of the sun and I heard my friend calling out to me who was already in the line. She had to GRAB me so I wouldn’t get washed away by the TSUNAMI OF PEOPLE! Yes TSUNAMI!!! At this point I was terrified To death and thought “if this is just for the line how bad is it gonna be at the actual concert?!” And really wanted to trade for a Seated But I didn’t lol nobody with Seated wanted GA and that was completely understandable! Anyways, now we’re in the official line waiting To get our numbered wristbands (my number was 226) which wasn’t that bad. At the end of the day there were over a thousand people with GA Wristbands! Anyways, after the wristband there comes the merch line, again it was insane! In terms of length. I got sunburnt because of how Long I stood in that line under the sun! But thankfully I got my jungkook picket!! It’s huge!! At this time, it was around 1:45pm and they said the soundcheck people should line up starting at 2:45pm. I took this time to really hydrate myself since I heard people have fainted Because of dehydration. I drank 4 bottles of water! Lol 😂 but I mean I guess it helped cuz I didn’t faint. The security told the Soundcheck people to line up at 2:30 based on their numbers which was good and horrible at the same time. Their organization skills were 0!! After we lined up, they opened the doors and checked the bags and stuff and LET ME TELL U when they say the security is pretty strong..NOPE IT WAS NOT! THE SECURITY DIDNT EVEN OPEN MY BAG AND LET ME GO THROUGH!! Like wtf?? There was no picture/video allowed during the soundcheck. OH I FORGOT SOMETHING!! while we were behind the doors waiting for the security to tell us when to line up, WE COULD HEAR BTS PERFORMING INSIDE!! WE WERE LIKE shouldn’t we be in there?? Isn’t this the soundcheck we were supposed attend?? It was awful and sad af and we just chanted the lyrics from outside :,) one song I could clearly hear from outside was cypher and I was like :,,,,) I wanna be there! Okay now back to the Story: now were inside, all of soundcheck people had to stand on the left side of the runway towards the main stage. The view was great and people didn’t push at all!! They were standing still and everyone had enough space for themselves to breath and do whatever. We waited and waited until BTS came out!!! First was jimin! they were all in their sweat pants like they just came straight out from their dorm :,) No makeup no nothing AND JUNGKOOK WAS WEARING A CAP!! 😭 they all looked like college boys you see every day (BUT OF COURSE THEYRE MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL) jungkook looked much more slim than his pictures, idk if it was becuz of the loose clothing or what but he was slim. They all Kinda looked tired too. I held up the picket as soon as they walked in and Jimin came right in front of the stage where we were at AND JIMIN MADE AN EYE CONTACT WITH ME!!! When ppl say jimin stares at u when he makes eye contact THEYRE NOT LYING!! I screamed and jumped up an down so hard THEN came Yoongi! He was in all black and looked hot af! He waved at us shortly then went back to the middle of main stage And JHOOOOOOPE!! He’s literally a living sunshine!! He was so bubbly and smiley and greeted us with such energy and positivity all the pain In my body from the last 19 years went away :,) AND THEN JUNGKOOK OMG!!! When he stood in front of the stage where we were at, I held up the Picket so high AND HE SAW IT!!! HE MADE AN EYE CONTACT WITH ME AND NODDED SHAKEGSKAVDKA!!! My baby noticed me now I can die happily :,,) Jin was pretty attentive with fans too!! He made eye contact with as many people as he could and all Jin stans were living their lives!! Then Taehyung and Namjoon. They greeted us and started rehearsing. They only did three songs first was 21st century girl 2nd save me and I CANNOT REMEMBER THE THIRD ONE😭 (it might’ve been Am I Wrong) but we all did the fan chants and it was so loud and beautiful Tae was trying so hard to hold in his smile :,) It was good and then it was over… it wasn’t an hour or even half an hour :( it was around 10 mins and then they were gone 😭 Then we got out, waiting to get into the official line for the concert, we started at 5pm. THANKFULLY they really did go by the number policy and now everything was starting to feel a lot more organized so we all were happy lol. Fast forward to getting inside the venue again I really wanted to be in front of the extended stage but there were a lot of people there already so we ended up at the side of the extended. BUT the view was excellent!! We were in the second row and could see everything perfectly! Which was awesome~ when we were waiting for the show, a girl passed out three headbands (Mickey ears) to us and asked us to throw them on the stage at the end of the concert for them. I got the silver one, the one that was had Jungkook written on the ears and wore it on my head. The security told us that if we throw anything on the stage we will get kicked out, but I told the girl who gave us the headbands to not worry and I WILL throw it for them. It was gonna be at the end of the concer anyways and at that point nobody’s gonna listen anymore. […] its 7:55pm and we’re losing our shit!!! Only 5 more minutes!! They played Spring day mv and we all sang with it! It was beautiful :,) then was VCR AND THEN NOT TODAY!!!! LIT LIT LIT!!! So good!! Sooooo good!! Since it was on the main stage I had difficulty seeing them but it still was awesome!!! People really did the fan chants throughout the whole show Their solos were so nice, YOONGI’s SOLO MAN… it was beautiful! I get chills even thinking about it! I cried, really did cry Cuz I can really relate myself with that song and the experience he went through and just the feeling, the vibe of his performance was like Re-living that experience. It was beautiful. I was wiping my tears when jimin jk jin and tae came up on the extended stage for LOST!! I STARTED SCREAMING AND JUMPING WHILE MY FACE WAS STILL WET FROM THE TEARS!! Jimin came to our side and AGAIN MADE AN EYE CONTACT WITH ME!! LET ME TELL U!! JIMIN AND JHOPE MADE ALOT OF EYE CONTACTS WITH ME THROUGHOUT THE SHOW BUT JIMIN MAN… HE STARES AT U FOR A WHOLE 10 SECONDS! WHEN HE SAW ME I BLEW A KISS AT HIM LIKE JIN AND THEN HE LOOKED DOWN omg!! It was insanely good!! JUNGKOOK ON THE OTHER HAND… I HELD UP TWO JK FANS WITH A JK SLOGAN JUST TO GET A LILL EYE CONTACT WITH HIM THROUGHOUT THE SHOW BUT I GOT NONE!!! NOT EVEN A GLANCE IM SO SAD YALL, my arms were on fire for holding the slogan so high up for such a long time but NOPE!! He kept looking up at the Seated ppl :,,,,) I’m not sad (I’m dying inside) anywayyyyys Namjoon’s solo :,) ppl did the “WE LOVE YOU” and it was beautiful! Jin’s solo was STUNNING!!! And Jhope’s was….GODLY!!! He was smiley throughout his whole solo and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Omg I love him so much!! CYPHER YALL… C Y P H E R!!!! FINALLY I GOT BAPTIZED BY THE HOLY JHOPE!!! JHOPE BAPTIZED OUR SIDE AND YOONGI THE OTHER! I CANT BELIEVE I WAS PART OF IT OMG ITS UNREAL!! The whole show was fantastic but I was unable to record much SINCE I WAS BUSY TRYING MY ASS TO GET NOTICED BY JUNGKOOK 😒 but I recorded wings :,) fast forward the the end of the show when they were bowing to say goodbye and I took the chance! I removed the headband from my head and threw it on the stage!! I threw it so far but thankfully It didn’t fall. I was extremely careful when throwing it and making sure it didn’t hit any of them! Now, the headband I was wearing the whole show and threw it was the silver one and the girl gave me the other (black) To throw that as well WHICH ENDED UP ON SOPE’s HEADS!!!!!! JHOPE WORE THE HEADBAND THAT WAS ON MY HEAD THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SHOW!! CAN YALL HEAR ME SCREAMING??? AND YOONGI WORE THE BLACK ONE!! Out of all the plushies and stuffed animals on stage SOPE CHOSE THE HEADBANDS I THREW FOR THEM :,,,) IM TOUCHED!!! But the security did ask who it was and lol I played it cool like “did anyone really throw something on stage?? Smh” lmaooooooo BUT OMG THAT WAS AMAZING I FEEL BLESSED!! THANK YOU JHOPE THANK YOU SUGA!!! I love u guys so much!!! AND TO JUNGKOOK!!!! PLEASE DO LOOK DOWN SOMETIMES WHEN YOURE ON STAGE!!! THERE MIGHT BE SOMEONE RIPPING HER ARM MUSCLES HOLDING UP UR SLOGAN JUST TO GET A QUICK GLANCE FROM U!! So please 🙏🏻 lol but all in all, it was an amazing experience and it still seems unreal to me! Now I’m really glad I didn’t trade for Seated cuz I was able to make one of the most iconic SOPE moments in history happen :,) Also, I feel weird asking this but, is it normal for someone to forget some of the songs they performed after the concert?? Becuz I literally can not remember I NEED U performance (which REALLY sucks since this song was one of my most favorite songs to see live!!) and BOY IN LUV and some of the other songs in their medley and that’s HELLA depressing :,) but thankfully I clearly remember all of their solos! I forgot to tell u this but JUNGKOOKS SOLO WAS COOL AF!!! The way they edited his performance and play/showed it in the background of him singing/dancing was so beautiful and epic! It was classy! And omfg don’t even get me started about JIMINS SOLO… I’m sure you all have already seen his lie performance so I’m gonna shut up now and leave lmao Thank you for reading my crazy experience and I hope and wish for those of you who haven’t seen them live to really get a chance and attend their concert!!! And don’t worry! You WILL see them live one day! Two years ago when I started liking BTS and was already head over heels for them, they had already announced their LA concert and it was too late for me to get a ticket and all the prices were so high I couldn’t afford it. I cried myself to sleep listening to Let Me Know while they were performing literally one hour away from me. But thankfully I did get a chance to see them at Kcon LA 2016 and their Wings Tour!
