DONNIE DATING HEADCANNONS

Ok so despite the fact my main tmnt oc is for leo. Donnie is my absolute favorite.

He.Is.sweetheart. a nerdy.sarcastic.cold blooded. SWEETHEART!

Now hes not the biggest fan of pda. But he will hold your hand or have an arm around you.

He makes you so much stuff. Like you have drawer called "Donnies gifts" because hes made you so many that you are running out of room in your room! You love Them all BUT THERE IS SO MUCH!! He has made you a music box before and it sits on your desk

He helps you with homework. And will even tutor you if you want!!

He is a very good tutor and makes sure you understand the material to the full possibility! He is actually very patient when he tutors or helps you.

He has come to your school on multiple occasions. One to hang out with you. Two he wants to go to school. This started cause you texted him you lost your lost your favorite pen and he showed up with a new pen(purple ink ofc) and just stayed with you for the rest of the day.

You make sure he's going to bed at normal times and actually sleeping because you shouldn't be told by mikey donnie hasn't left the lab other then to get coffee in the past 3 days.

Shelldon? That is now your son. Im sorry but not my choice.(You hold him like misty from pokemon holds togapi)

Speaking of pokemon. You got him heavily into pokemon. He loves it, he owns the handbooks and all the games.

He will go on tech rants to you. Even if you have no idea whats hes saying he's just Happy you are willing to listen

He usually calls you by name or shorten version of your name. But he does have nicknames he calls you. Some include " Honey, babe(most frequently used), and angel.

Scientific pick up lines. He doesn't use them often but he likes see the blush you get when he does use them.

Speaking of blushing. He blushes very easy. And when he does. He always trys to hide it as not ruin his "image"

You both will go on rooftops and just stargaze. He finds it peaceful and just loves your company

He is protective. Like if you get hurt? That person be fast runner. Because they will have angry purple turtle with tech bo about to beat their ass.

He cant always express how much he loves you. But trust me he really does love you

When he takes his battle shell off around you. He forever trusts you. Its also unspoken thing that you are allowed to touch his shell. Just be gentle

If you do steal his hoodies. He's not mad infact he thinks its adorable. But he will steal your oversized ones

If you have an animal? That thing is now his child. Its not allowed in his lab but he loves it. Especially cats I see him as a cat person. Has made it toys before.

Leo ofc has his stars! He just really likes space and the star motif is super cute!! He also has his scarf, its just got all their colors on it - he sewed on the little bits himself.

Mikey likes to make bracelets and has a MASSIVE collection, so he's always wearing em.

DONNIE HAS A TOOLBELT!!! It holds all his stuffs!

Raph has his ripped pants - which he wears exclusively to spite Leo. Also has some dogtags that he found on the ground and decided he was gonna keep forever ( for funsies )

I think Splinter probably thinks that Leo is too...irresponsible? He expects a certain degree of responsibility that Leo doesn't really hit. He also is transphobic :)

For Mikey he definitely seems to blame him for things that aren't his fault. On the other hand, Mikey is also very messy, hates doing chores and Splinter can't stand that.

Same sort of thing for Donnie, but much less so. Excuses it away with compliments and stuff. He is the favorite child after all.

For Raph its like he doesn't even know he exists. He barely talks to Raph or really??? Worries about him?? He's just overlooked due to being the same age as Donnie ig

They go out together all the time! They usually end up arguing, but its always a lot of fun! Sometimes Raph n Donnie stay at home, but almost always its all four of em. Raph and Mikey also go out on their own ( separately ) a lot.

Uhhhhhhh I am actually gonna hold off on answering that cause I have a comic I wanna make about one of Leo's habits ( tee he its just one of my habits but anyway ).

Raph chews on his mask tails. Not really unhealthy but def noticeable. Mikey chews his nails like so so bad. I'll add more when I think of em :)

Quietist is Donnie for sure, Raph is the loudest. Mikey is the second loudest. Leo can be loud if he needs to.

Leo spends the most time alone, he doesn't really have much going on as far as a social life. Raph has a lot of friends and that's usually who he's hanging out when he's out.

Raph is the most likely to go out in public. Sometimes its to spite Leo and sometimes he just wants to go hang out in the city. Occasionally he'll drag Mikey out with him.

Leo has been into space since he was a kid and he hasn't been able to shake it since, Mikey n Raph ofc have their art. Donnie has his tech. The last three are more like just huge aspects of their personalities at this point. Mikey has been watching Project Runway nonstop for like 2 years ( Leo got him into it )

I don't know any water brands- Raph and Mikey are the only two that actually drink water and I think they drink a store brand? Leo drinks tap water :) Donnie is eternally dehydrated

HELLO YES I AM VERY HAPPY TO SHARE! Also I promise there's non-sad or bittersweet love songs im so sorry </3 I'm going to limit this to 5 songs cause there's too much but feel free to send in asking about specific songs! So first thing's first I'll share what I already have written for two of them in Discord and then 3 new ones! I tried adding gaps as well so they weren't big blocks of text.

Cafe 1930, Histoire De Tango:

"For these two the song is a slow love song filled with longing, sadness, missing one another even when the other is right there. There's nothing they can do. They can try as they might, maybe even do some things behind closed doors and letting it escalate but it was never meant to last and they knew it. Maybe one of the others gets hurt, maybe they get found out. They get torn apart and it's even worse this time than before, with more physical isolation and being forced apart by an unaccepting family and environment.

But then things start looking up for Leo, he finds it in himself to get back out there and try his best to move on, meeting Usagi and becoming friends. They'll go to the park in the spring and hang out and make lots of memories but there's a lingering sadness and longing for Donnie that he can't escape. He finds himself looking back regardless, missing the times they had together and the secret kisses and hidden moments from the others. She's one of his closest friends after all, sister in all but blood."

"Think of Me is like the aftermath, after they've finally both picked themselves up but neither able to fully let go. Donnie has managed to push past it and get more involved with people but never forming very close realtions and dealing with a near constant longing. Both of them new the relationship wouldn't last, "We never said our love was evergreen or as unchanging as the sea" is a good example of this.

"Long ago.... how young and innocent we were" this takes place possible a few years after all of the initial stuff goes down. "Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade, they have their season so do we" They've come to accept the fact that it won't work out and they won't get their happy ending but maybe, just maybe the other still thinks of them occassionally. Maybe the other still remembers all the good times they shared."

Bus Beat by The Front Bottoms:

Okay so not only does this song start off literally with "Love has no bounds" but I was Legally Required to add The Front Bottoms. This one is, similar to Ruin, about a..... nnnnot exactly healthy relarionship but we vibe <3 anyway! This one is from Leo's perspective, he's doing his best just going with the flow and doing whatever he can to make things feel good and right in their relationship. He's flying blind a bit and doesn't mind being kept in the dark as long as Donnie's there to guide him. My favorite bit is to see "she's got big black bags under her eyes" and point and go "haha donnie".

They both understand that their family, especially their brothers, don't understand their relationship. Not necessarily the whole incest aspect but their dynamic. One of the most repeated lines in the song is "I do it like that because that's the way my baby likes it". This song was also largely chosen for the vibes of the song in general, it's staying up late at night to hang out with one another, it's downtown cities and pizza, it's leather and jean and worn down apartments that are all brown and off-white. It's getting high in a hotel in the middle of nowhere with the movie Holes on in the background.

Now, NEITHER Leo or Donnie are healthy at ALL they are so self destructive. That's where the "i'm getting clean" part comes in, they promise to get better and do better but it's not really... happening. But they're both really committed to one another!

Leo's at a point in this though where he's coming to realize things about himself and how he interacts with the world, caring too much about messing up or dissapointing people that it's severely holding him back from truly living or taking any risks and trying new things, including being a proper leader and opening up to his family.

This next bit I just. I can't explain it in words "I asked for patience, I asked for strength, whether in sickness or in flames. You gave me pleasure, you gave me pain, and then you taught me they're the exact same thing" though I have to admit I've always read that last line as more suggestive when it comes to Leotello and not destructive in their relationship.

LAST BIT. This is also so self explanatory so just: "And you'll always be my girlfriend (I love her) Even after we get married (My love) And no matter how sad I am (I love her) I'm gonna try to make you happy (My love)" they care about one another so much and they can both reluctantly acknowledge that their relationship and who they are at the moment isn't exactly healthy but they have hope for the future and can see themselves getting married and they're going to do everything in their power to make each other happy.

A Heart Full Of Love, Les Miserables:

So this song could be read two ways: One, my initial way where we completely ignore Eponine’s part and turn it into a sweet love song or two, the way my friend tubbo introduced me to where Marius is Leo and Cosette is Usagi with Eponine as Donnie! For those not familiar with Les Mis, Marius and Cosette meet and it’s your classic “love at first sight” however Eponine, who helps Marius find Cosette and meet for this song sequence, is in love with Marius as well. Her love is one sided, claiming “he was never mine to lose” and “why regret what could not be”. She’s known her love is one sided, despite how badly she wishes it wasn’t. Pretty much partial Les Mis au but rottmnt <3

Ruin by The Amazing Devil:

Ruin is very much from both perspectives, that good ol "illusion of confidence (insecure)". Right off the bat we see how they both are convinced they'll bring ruin to the other no matter how hard they try not to. The chorus here talks about how they worked together to build the framwork and support for their relationship. This song could be mid-relationship or post-relationship too with the line "I wish I'd done things different".

"Our mortar was your laughter" could go either ways too, sharing private moments and jokes with one another and being there for each other when things were hard or they were having a bad night. Also, I really don't think I need to explain Joey's line "And I said fewer cos I make jokes to show how broken I really am" it's. So incredibly Leo.

At the very least they've gone THROUGH some shit relationship wise, they feel like they're standing surrounded by the wreckage but they try to play one last tune to see if it still works, one last horrah to see if there's anything they can salvage. And there is, and so they promise to be patient and kind to one another.

This song ends on a hopeful nots for the two, wanting to rebuild what they had brick by brick, promising that tomorrow they'll do things different, they'll be brave, and that it'll be each other that makes them brave.

Donatello (1987)

Yeah I’m sorry for making this 

First of all, not the biggest fan of his voice. It has a bit of a whiny quality to it, and I’m not about all that jazz. His gismo’s look pretty lame a lot of the times, either it’s a grey box with some buttons, dials and flashing lights or looks like it was pulled directly from Lost in Space. Still a cute design but he felt pretty bland and seemed to be used for plot convenience most of the time. To put it simply, he was cute and essential but kinda bland. I’m always really harsh on this version because it’s so painfully dated and cheesy, which ain’t my cup of tea, but what can I say be hehe turgle.

Don (2003)

His voice, such a huge improvement. I’m really sound-oriented and I often like to play a game of ‘I’ve heard the VA before, but which role?’ when I watch cartoons and I don’t mean to brag, but I’m pretty good at it. So when I heard that soft, caring voice, ten year old me was head over heels. Which is one quality I love about him. His heart is so huge, like I can think back to a bunch of side characters and most of them were introduced through Don helping or knowing them. The Atlantians and the homeless in the show owe so much to Don, but he goes out of his way to make sure that they are alright. In the last season (which everyone hated but I actually really liked so fuck me I guess), Splinter is lost into tiny pieces across the web and Don blames himself and goes without sleep and food for days to bring him back. It broke my heart, and I’m pretty sure a lot of others, to see him like that.

On a lighter note, I vaguely remember this one scene where the triceration dude is like ‘you did this!’ and Don’s like ‘I did? Good for me then.’ and had a very pleased grin on his face right after. I don’t know why, but that killed me. Bless Don and his rare, but excellent, comebacks.

He really does so much and there were quite a few episodes focused on him. He also had quite a bit of character development, not as much as Leo, but whoever gets any more development whatsoever besides Leo?

I love him he’s amazing protect him/10

Next up is the Donnie that helped me love my old gap tooth.

Donnie (2012)

Voiced by the very talented Rob Paulson, this Donnie goes back and forth from really great character to eh. The whole April thing was just kinda strange to me and I don’t really think it added anything other than some interesting Casey and Donnie banter. His crush was really strong the first two seasons and came off as stalkerish almost. Although I’m guilty of having a picture of a crush as my lock screen once as well, so I can’t judge that much. I really liked that they actually addressed this when Bigfoot had a crush on Donnie and he realized how April felt. Yeah, that episode was weird and just didn’t make any sense, but it really helped Donnie gain a new perspective and made him go from super crush to (mostly) hidden pining. He has a nice design as well, especially with the gap tooth. I used to have one and was really embarrassed of it but whenever I saw that Donnie had one, I thought it looked neat and I started to see myself in a more positive light. It’s closed up now, but I can still spray water between the little bit that’s left as a parlor trick. But seriously, what the FUCK was up with Don visiososoos whatever tf his name I I don’t understnad my tiny brain don’t understand why my purple boy tried to kill this dude who looked like he should’ve been wearing a red jumpsuit in the background of a pixar robot love story. Anyway, my tall gap tooth son, ily.

Donatello (2014/2016)

They put a lot of thought into his design psychically, the long body, the near-constant look of surprise and curiosity in his features, the gadgets made of common objects, the wraps on his arms, I would love to be able to think of and make those kinds of details! It was all really well thought out and he stood out since he wasn’t as bulky as the rest of the turtles. I really like the little lines and the actor did a fantastic job on the delivery and really made the character come to life. Some favorites: ‘Ohmygod, they have guns’, the little awed, snorty chuckle when he flips a car over with his bo staff, ‘doitdoitoitdoit im not gonna stop til you do it doditdoit’ and when he straight up yeets himself out of a plane. He has a genuine curiosity in everything he does and I think he might be my favorite version. It’s hard to choose when it comes to Donnie because he varies so wildly. But for detail, voice and writing alone, definitely the 2014 Donnie.

Donnie (2018)

Chaotic as all hell, like I can’t think of a more chaotic character from ANY of the versions other than this Donnie. I have a lot of thoughts about his character in general, from design, to psychology and complexes. First and foremost, Donnie is a softshell turtle, meaning he has a DOPE battle shell and overall looks pretty damn neat. Although, I think that just the fact he’s biologically weaker has caused him to put up a lot of boundaries between him and his family and friends. He can’t be incredibly strong like Raph, agile like Leo or fast like Mikey and even though he brags about being smart, he feels almost beneath his brothers and strives to outdo them in any way he can. He wants to show them that he’s just as, if not more so, talented and feels overlooked because his inventions become ‘too smart’ or ‘too over the top’ and even the ones that work out incredibly well are written off for flashier projects. 

He depends on technology and feels like that's all he has, and (ironically enough) he’s built up a shield around him. He acts confident and narcissistic and has an almost nihilistic outlook, but he’s frustrated and feels inferior and wants validation more than anything. I came up with this theory when I saw the episode Turtle Dega Nights. I know that the scene was meant for Donnie to express how he feels about Splinter lying about the event and believe that he didn’t genuinely want to hang out with his sons, but that kind of thing feels like it’s been built up over time, like he’s been lied to before about the true meaning behind something. Something like, oh idk, how great his inventions are? Or how helpful he really is? Or how talented he is? Just sayin. Also ngl I might be self projecting a bit, but mmm. Also he has so much purple on him and it’s wayyy more accurate compared to just a purple bandanna bc people who like purple GO ALL OUT. A friend told me this and I thought ‘nah thats not true I like purple’ but then I looked down to find my dyed purple jeans, purple vans and my favorite hoodie, also purple. A really chaotic version but he seriously needs a hug.

1x01 Pilot: I mean,,,, does this even need an explanation? 

1x03 Squeeze: amazing MOTW, “do you think i’m spooky?”, “it seems you were acting very territorial” “of course i was” this is episode thREE PEOPLE, the gray/green alien conversation lmaoooo

1x24 The Erlenmeyer Flask: rip deep throat, iconic “trust no one”, the alien plot seriously begins the thicken here

2x01 Little Green Men: they have a secret meeting how cute, Mulder recording everything for Scully um hello someone is in love

2x08 One Breath: Mulder TEARING apart the hospital and screaming at people for Scully, coma hand holding and crying in his apartment, the return of her necklace, “mulder? i had the strengths of your beliefs” 

2x13 Irresistible: like obviously donnie pfaster makes me uncomf but the way mulder tips up scully’s chin and makes her look at him and then she breaks down and FINALLY lets mulder see her as something besides hard as a rock

2x17 End Game: Scully taking charge and saving Mulder’s life, Mulder trading “Samantha” for Scully

3x04 Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose: this episode is very funny and i appreciate that in this dark x files universe, QUEEQUEG, “how do i die?” “you don’t”, “autoerotic asphyxiation” 

3x13 Syzygy: “sure fine whatever”, jealous scully, cigarette smoking scully, “shut up mulder”

3x17 Pusher: this ep is simply amazing in every way and we all know it

3x22 Quagmire: mulder hating the dog for no reason, RIP queequeg, the conversation on the rock

4x03 Home: this episode is gory and cool, the conversation on the bench, scully making noises to try to get the sheep to move lmao, mulder playing with the baseball and the tv and being sad that elvis died, and im a sucker for kevlar 

4x13 Never Again: Iconic is all i need to say

4x14 Memento Mori: yeah the cancer arc sucks and all but the msr is soo good in this like i can never get over it, the flowers

4x20 Small Potatoes: a great light hearted episode in which scully and “mulder” almost KISS

4x22 Elegy: this episode makes my list because it is so raw and emotional, because mulder gives scully no personal space ever, the bowling scene. scully’s session with the therapist

5x01/02 Redux & Redux II: “keep going fbi woman”, mulder never ceasing to cry about scully, “one sorry son of a bitch speaking”, all the kisses, the hand holding, mulder coming back “from the dead” because he had to see scully, the smile when he tells skinner her cancer is in remission

5x04 Detour: “kill me now”, the wine and cheese (poor scully she really tried), “i dont wanna wrestle”, “maybe if i rains sleeping bags you’ll get lucky”

5x05 The Post-Modern Prometheus: a happy motw ep is always great, b&w, the humor in this one is just golden, the dancing scene of course

5x10 Chinga: mulder without scully lmaooo, “marry me”, the pencils lmao

5x12 Bad Blood: do i even need to explain my love for this one?

5x19 Folie a Deux: a lot of people dont like this ep for some reason but i do, mulders split lip is Hawt, “one in five billion”, “folie a deux. a madness shared by two”

5x20 The End: fuck diana BUT uh, pic of mulder and scully hanging in the office, gibson impressing the fuck outta everyone, gibson exposing mulder about diana and scully, mulder fuckin up spender, the way scully holds mulder after the office fire

6x03 Triangle: the filming is so beautifully done, i love a good irl AU, the KISS i could write ESSAYS about this kiss, “i love you”

6x06 How the Ghosts Stole Christmas: mulder literally steals scully’s keys so she cant leave, they LITERALLY kill each other and then go exchange gifts after they said they wouldnt get each other anything i mean CMON

6x08 The Rain King: everyone assuming mulder and scully are a couple, “i do not gaze at scully”, scully’s speech to sheils

6x14 Monday: i just really really like this episode for some odd reason i cant put my finger on

6x15 Arcadia: again, another episode that i don’t feel the need to explain why i love it lol

6x18 Milagro: scully being fascinated by this guy, mulder being possessive jealous and worrisome, the hug when scully doesnt die, scully grabbing mulders arm, “in my book I’ve written that agent scully falls in love. but that’s obviously impossible. agent scully is already in love.”

6x19 The Unnatural: the ice cream thing, the ripping of the document, i do enjoy the story, fuckin mulder and his baseball obsession, the Scene (you know the one) hips before hands OO baby

6x21 Field Trip: a very cool episode, mulder telling scully that he ends up being right like 98.9% of the time and shes like o fuck, she thinks mulder is dead :’(, they literally trip together, the hand hold at the end

7x06 The Goldberg Variation: lots of good ol flirting, i enjoy the case, the sink lmaoooo, “i like baseball too”

7x14 Theef: “i’ll always keep you guessing”, mulder saving scully by pulling the pins out of the eyes, 

7x16 Chimera: “do you have a significant other?” “not in the widely understand definition of that term”, “mulder when you find me dead, my desiccated corpse propped up, staring lifelessly through the telescope at drunken frat boys peeing and vomiting in the gutter, just know that my last thoughts were of you, and how i’d like to kill you” “i’m sorry who is this”, and also mulder just being really great at his job seriously turns me on

7x17 all things: must i explain?

7x19 Hollywood A.D.: a Classic, scully showing tea leoni how to run i heels, mulder packs it to the left, skinman, bubble baths, the laughing and the hand holding at the end i am DECEASED

7x21 Je Souhaite: i def like the case in this one, scully’s entrance to the office in the beginning (hmm someones suspiciously happy), scully and her invisible body lol, mulders wish was fantastic, the whole last scene as well as “well i’m fairly happy. that’s something” atths ya know

7x22 Requiem: ok like even though its depressing as fuck in end i love this ep, scully visibly turned on by the fact that mulder assaulted someone, “let’s go waste some money”, “we could start sharing rooms”, mulder holding scully when she faints in the woods, mulder watching scully with the baby, the whole bed scene, the HUG cause mulder couldnt live without her if something happened, PERGNANt

and as far as season 8 goes….. every episode besides the ones with mulder are meh and lets pretend 9 didnt happen except i guess The Truth was good considering the circumstances
