Q: What art Program do you use?

A: IBIS PAINT X BABY!!! (FREE VERSION!) If you want the brushes I use DM me and I'll happily hand em over! Just specify which ones ^^ ( I took most of mine from pinterest and then modified them to my liking- I will give credits to the origin brushes however!! )

Q: What device do you use to draw?

A: SAMSUNG S8 PLUS BABY!!! ( GOT THAT THANG FOR 400 BUCKS! ) it is my baby it's got such a nice wide screen

I use the Wacom One Pen bc it's super comfortable and way better than the pen the tablet usually comes with! It's compatible bc it uses the same tech the SPen uses! (got it off Amazon for 30 bucks)

adaine abernant grew up lonely and abused in the shadow of a cruel, perfect aelwyn who could do no wrong. adaine didn't even want to find aelwyn, and every step their adventure took in her direction was a step adaine asterisked with a loud proclamation that she hated her bitch sister and didn't care about finding her. and only after discovering that aelwyn had been a months-long prisoner, tortured at her parents' hands, only after hearing a destroyed aelwyn apologize, does adaine consider that maybe aelwyn was a victim, too. and she overcomes her childhood resentment. she sees the bigger picture. she rescues her sister. she protects her as they sleep, and aelwyn's magic protects them in return. it is, maybe, the first time adaine truly feels that she has an older sister. and there's hope now. aelwyn has been broken down, but also redeemed, and they're together now, and adaine can help her, and they can be a family, because people aren't perfect, but aelwyn said she's sorry. and adaine goes into her mind and sees all the self-loathing she never knew about, and even more than that the fear of their parents, and she understands aelwyn so perfectly in this moment, all bitterness and spite dissolved, just a young woman taking a leap of faith and being rewarded with family, finally, a sister she never got to have, who actually loves her and believes in her and wants to keep her safe.

and then aelwyn's memory resets.

and in an instant, adaine loses everything she never knew she could have.

we were sitting on the floor and i was cutting out tiny pictures to make a collage for a friend's birthday. you were on your phone and you laughed about something, and i was still in love with you then, so i asked what had you giggling.

"sorry. i was just..." you took a moment and went back to texting. "i was telling someone about how you're afraid of the dark."

i'm afraid of the dark because something bad happened. "oh." i felt a little slinky of shame crawl down my throat.

you glanced up, and maybe it showed on my face, because you rolled your eyes and held the phone to the side casually so i could see the group chat. "what? was it a secret?"

i looked down to the scissors in my hand. "i just..." no, it's not a secret. it just felt like something private, something serious. saying why would you tell someone that just feels like an accusation. it's unfair. i honestly am not even ashamed of it, it's just a fact about my person that i don't usually share.

what a strange experience. is this a human thing or a generational thing? for our grandparents: did they need to worry about how quickly someone can just... share your personal information? again, i didn't even really have a true objection. what could i say? i want any person in my life to feel they can be honest with their friends. it's not like i said don't tell anyone this.

i cut out another letter to complete the rainbow happy birthday, started hunting for the exclamation mark. i heard you sigh dramatically.

"don't make a big deal about this," you said.

this entire conversation was a pattern for us, and this was when we got to my least favorite part of the pattern. i would get my feelings hurt in some oblique not-technically-terrible way, and then it would be making a big deal about something. you'd get frustrated for me for being soft, but i was born soft. you knew i was soft when you pierced me. it's one of the things that made controlling me so easy.

"i'm not," i felt my voice crack. the question came without my wanting. "why are you guys talking about me?" and why are you saying that thing? why not like - i'm telling them how you're generous and kind and pretty.

you let out this low, tragic groan. "oh my god." you tossed the phone away from your body. "there, see? i just won't talk to them if you don't like it."

the rest of the hour went the way it always went, between us: i said i don't actually mind if you talk to your friends but -, you found a way to call my minor expression of discomfort "being dramatic." you got upset that i had been offended. i ended up apologizing, even though i hadn't actually done anything.

afterwards, you picked up the phone again. after texting for a little bit, you snorted. "okay," you said, "but it is kind of funny you're afraid of the dark. i mean, when you think about it."

Just something I've noticed that I'm sure someone else has pointed out before: when Scar is fully in his 'Hotguy' persona, his eyes are often hidden by the sheen of his visor

Conversely, when he's alone, we can see his eyes a LOT more. Really neat visual indicator of when Scar is HG, rather than just Scar in HG's clothes? If that makes sense? Also love how his visor is more than a means of hiding his identity... it's a bit of stretch, but it certainly makes HG feel less like a human, and more like the corporate face he's obligated to be. Almost like when Scar is Hotguy, he has to entirely separate himself from 'Scar' as a person.

This is definitely something that /happens/ in pervious chapters, but getting to see HG alone more than usual this chap makes it super apparent. Love love love the detail. I will forever be obsessed with ddvau Scar as a character. He is so silly in the head I LOVE corporate superheroes!!

It's probably safe to assume that whatever fear Kai witnessed in s2, it was probably from Monstrosity. But idk, I don't think it was anything like the centipede cave or the daidarabotchi or any of the other dozen freaky monsters he went toe to toe with.

I think he saw the lake again. I think he saw his friends' reflections in the water, their dead and gone faces smiling up at him, cheering for him to join them, promising him that if he drowns himself then it will all finally be over.
