summary you are Dustin’s older sister, you and Eddie used to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but haven't spoke to each other, until your little brother messes things up. (5.3k)
warnings fem!reader, fluff, hurt/comfort, exes! in love, mutual pining, yearning etc, slowburn exes to lovers, idiots in love!!!, panic attack tw!, english is not my first language so I apologise if there’s some mistakes, not proof read!
“I told you I don’t wanna hear anything more about it!” You whined once again, as he was still babbling away.
“Oh, get over it!” He finally snapped. “It’s been more than a year!” He screamed at you, not with anger, but with resignation in his voice.
“Don’t…”
“I… Look… You only have to drive me there, you can go later, I’ll call you when I need to come back and I’ll make sure you don’t even cross paths with him… Please?” His eyes looked through his eyebrows, begging, needing a yes.
“Dust…” You try to change his mind once again, knowing damn well that he had won, once again. “Okay…” As your hands rested on your side in full resignation, his went up in celebration, smiling and screaming thank you, thank you.
How could you say no to him? It wasn’t your fault that he had grown so fond of him while you two were dating, and it’s not his fault that you broke things off… Well, you didn’t actually. How could you?
That thought crossed your mind often, how could you? or, in other words how could he? You had loved him like you never had anyone else, and he still couldn’t fight for you two to stay together. When he decided to stay quiet, and grow distant when you needed him close and by your side, it had been his choice.
It’s not like it was your fault, or his. It’s just that sometimes, loving someone is not enough.
And it wasn’t enough, even if it killed you, you needed space to grow, he needed his space anyway. And it was hard, knowing that your brother hung out with him regularly, crossing looks with him when he dropped Dustin off, sadness in his eyes, remorse in yours. It was hard, but it was getting bearable.
You had agreed to be on good terms for Dustin’s sake, so that’s what you did.
The sound of the door closing snapped you back into reality, making you sit up once again, back straighter. Your mirror propped up in front of your bed, you looked at yourself, remembering his touch anywhere the sun kissed your skin.
You took a deep breath, and muttered to yourself okey, let’s do this then. So you did. You stood up, opened your wardrobe and thought what to wear exactly, deciding that if he had to see you, you might as well look good and take yourself out on a date later, perhaps to that new coffee shop that had opened down the street.
Be as it may, you had dressed yourself comfortably enough to not be cold in autumn weather, and you looked at your face once more.
Lipstick, that’s what you needed, it always made you feel good on days you were down, and a little boost is what you needed now.
Dustin was waiting for you downstairs, smile big and bright, with your car keys in his hand.
“You're not driving.” You said to him, coldly, almost mocking him.
“Yeah, I know. Soon enough though!” He screamed back cheerfully. You nodded in response as you unlocked the car.
You didn’t have to ask him where to, you had memorized long ago how to get to his home, even some shortcuts, for when you were a little bit tipsy and didn’t want Hopper to stop you and give you the talk. You smiled at the thought of that, and Dustin seemed to notice, as your right hand left the wheel for just a second to mess with your hair a bit, leaving your face free of cover.
The sun was setting once you parked your car, and the sky shined bright with a beautiful sunset, soft oranges mixing with pink clouds. You had to step out and take a good look at it.
Dustin opened your door for you, he always did, with a big smile he waited for your shy thank you, which you gave accompanied by a little ruffle of his hair. He nudged you with his head, making you both smile as you looked up.
“Hey, thanks for bringing me here.” He said, you could tell that he was being extremely honest.
“Anything for you, kid.” You replayed back, your hands fidgeting with an unlit cigarette. “When do I pick you up?” You asked him, your head lowering to look at him.
“I can bring him back.” Eddie’s voice had appeared, and with it, the hairs on the back of your neck stood up.
“Hi” You muttered shyly, as you spun around to look at him.
His hair was as wild as ever, shade so dark it contrasted with his pale skin. Old Iron Maiden shirt with holes in the neck laid perfectly on top of his chest, hugging him in all the right places. Your eyes looked down, checking him out. His jeans still hugged his thighs just as good as you remember. But what you didn’t notice was that he was doing the exact same thing.
He had to take a moment to look at you, the whole you. Your legs crossed over one another, accentuating even more your figure, your arms across your chest, making it a center of his attention, worsened by the fact that your breath had sped up, and your breathing made you move your chest up and down fast. Your exposed neck had made him remember how much he enjoyed biting you, so he ended up biting his own lip when his eyes met yours.
It was the first time you were talking. And so much time had passed.
“Hi” He said back, softly, a smile forming in his lips.
Dustin excused himself to get inside, clumsy, and admiring the fact that you two were actually talking again, he was mesmerized and he obviously spied on you two from the crack of Eddie’s entrance door.
His hand reached in his pocket, lighter coming out, he offered it to you. So you nod as you let your cigarette linger in between your lips, feeling the warmth of the flame as you are at a loss for words.
Not too sure what to say, or do.
“You don’t have to bring him back, I can come and get him…” You say, as your eyes leave the floor and look back up at him, nodding at Dustin’s way. He shrugs in response.
“I don’t mind. And I know you don’t like driving at night.” He answers, with his hands buried in his back pockets.
And maybe it’s the fact that he remembered such a stupid detail, but a soft smile forms on your lips.
“Okay then, thanks.” You answer back. Looking at how much you had left to smoke, knowing that once you finish, so did this conversation. He seemed to understand as much.
“Henderson?” He begged, his eyebrows raised as he looked deep into your eyes.
“Munson?” You answer back, cooly, calmly. Smoke escaping from your lips.
“It really is good to see you.” He admits, smug in his face.
You smile in response, a short nod to him as you inhale again, speaking to him as smoke comes out and he’s lost in you again.
“Yeah, it is.” You smile in response. “I’m a sight to be seen.” You mock, as you make you both chuckle softly, a distance still visible between both of you.
“You've been taking care of yourself?” He asks, a bit of worry could be heard.
“Yeah, I always am, Munson.” You take your final drag as you smile at him, closing your eyes so smoke won’t get inside of them.
“Continue to do so then. You look good.” He whispers the last part, but you always had a good ear, so you nod as you smile and open the door to your car.
“Yeah, so do you.” You say as the engine starts to roar.
-
“So… You just talked?” Steve laid on your couch, Red-vine in his mouth, pulling it to pieces with his teeth.
“Small talk.” You said, no thoughts behind your eyes, you walked up to him “Move” You told him as you signaled moving your hand side to side. His legs reached the floor.
“Ouch.” He said in response, giving you some of the candy. “Small talk… That hurt?” He asked, eyebrow raised, eyes meeting your calm gaze.
“Not as much as I thought it might.” You admit to him. Your head is finally resting on the couch. Eyes closed as you remember him, and his stupid smile. “Fucker told me “it was good to see me” and that “I looked good.” “ You explain to Steve as you air-quote your way through. The sweet taste of the Red-Vines hitting your tongue.
“Shit.” He said in response. You felt him standing up. “Wanna talk about it?” You opened your eyes, seeing him reach over to the water.
“Noisy.” You tease as you accept the cup. “Not really” You add as an answer to his question.
“O-kay” He said, extending the first syllable. Giving you his blanket as he pulled another one from his side. “So, what’s it gonna be today?”
“Labyrinth?”
“I’m not feeding into your Bowie obsession.”
“M’kay. Goonies?”
“Don’t wanna babysit now.”
“Rude. Okay. You choose then, I don’t wanna think.” You finally let out, the heels of your hands covering your eyes in frustration.
A beat. Steve could be heard messing around the VCR, his jeans ruffling as he moved, until his body laid beside you, his arm cuddling you into his chest, as you finally rested.
Breakfast Club started, and you muttered a thank you.
Steve kissed your forehead.
Steve had always been there for you, thick and thin. Just like you were there when he had a crush on Robin, or even now, when he was falling for Nancy again. Funny enough, you both seemed to be in the same sinking boat. As you usually were.
Your eyelids were starting to feel heavier by the minute, and you were determined to not fall asleep for once, even if you were really, truely, deeply comfortable under the warm blankets.
The movie was about to end, and your eyelids feel heavy. Still, your eyes opened wide as a noisy van parked outside, with blaring loud music as it screeched.
“Munson?” Steve asked, rubbing his eyes while still half asleep.
“Guess so.” You muttered, looking out the window, stretching your arms under the blanket that you were now sharing with Steve.
Sure enough, the long haired boy popped out, helping your brother to jump out of the passenger’s seat, and for what felt for a moment, looked straight at you, a frown appearing in his face. Your eyes left him, as your mouth closed, and minted, you followed Dustin until you heard the door rattling.
“Hey Dust.” You said, your voice raspy from falling half asleep.
“Hey Henderson.” Steve said after you, a hand raised so he could high five.
“Hey” He said back, tiredness coming from his voice. “Going to bed, is that okay?” He asked as he reached the first step of the stairs.
“Yeah, of course.” You smiled at him. He nodded and started to go up. “Good night!” You screamed at him.
“Night!” He yelled back.
“I should go too. It’s late.” Steve said, looking at his wrist watch, you nodded in response as he tore the blanket away from your body.
“I’ll walk you out.” You say, your voice is still raspy. Yawning as you lazily stretch.
He offers you his hand, so he can pull you up, laughing as he does, your feet reach the cold, and you smile. You open the door, and to your surprise, Eddie is still there.
Though you pay him no mind, your eyes meet before hugging Steve goodbye.
“You’ll bring the tape back?” He asks, nodding to the living room, and trying to stall as he sees how nervous you are all of a sudden.
“Yeah, drop it off before work.” You smile.
He winks at you as he hugs you once again, and you both say goodnight.
You’re left there, on your porch, arms crossed on your chest, looking at a speechless Eddie, who just shakes his head in shock at the image of you two together.
“What are you-” He cuts you off, in his voice you notice, he is just as hurt as he is angry.
“You and Harrington?”
“What?”
“Are you serious?” His face flinched as he looked deeper into your eyes, not mad, that might not be the right word, but hurt didn’t make it justice to the way he felt either.
“Eddie, what are you doing here?” You mutter, your arms falling to your side in exhaustion, not really following the reason of his outburst.
“I… Dustin…”
“Yeah, Dustin. Sure.” You were growing cold now. He was doing what he usually did, burying everything that he actually needed or wanted to say, and you resorted to your all ways, though your voice growing tired, you agreed with what he was saying even if you didn’t, avoiding a major fight.
You locked eyes once again. Your arms wrapped with one another, sitting on top of your chest, looking down at him from your porch, as you bite your lower lip. His hands deep in his pockets, shoulders raised, looking up at you, his eyes glistening as he contemplated you, not really sure what he had to say.
“Good Night then, Eddie.” You said, your voice coming out thinner than you had wished.
“Yeah, good night…” He replayed as he stepped back, looking at you as you shutted the door and went back inside. Speechless once again.
-
Infuriated might be a good word to describe the way you were still feeling weeks later.
You did doubt yourself, and replayed the moment a million times over and over in your head, but everytime you did, you are left with the same thoughts.
Why the Hell did Eddie care if you hung out with Steve?
Steve had always been your friend, and he knew that, shit, even when you used to go out with him, Steve would tag along and eventually became friends with him, Eddie even invited him to some D&D sessions he did. Eddie never had had a problem, or had been jealous, but then again, why do you care so much? You two were nothing. You had been friends. You had been lovers. Now you were just somebody you had once loved.
And if you were honest with yourself, which you tried, you really didn’t feel like it could be spoken out loud, a fear of it being said, making all of this feeling you had materialize into something real, something you weren’t too sure you could be able to live with or act on.
And again, being in a room getting ready with Nancy and Robin just made it all worse.
Not because you disliked them, or didn’t enjoy their company, but because a tiny little voice inside your head was screaming to be heard, and you were only getting quieter, and quieter.
And the fact that Robin was trying to make Nancy speak about her love life in an interest to help Steve was only driving you completely more mad. As if you had no other option but to scream. So ever so subtly you walked over the stereo and made it louder, so some of the noise could be drowned out.
It seemed to work.
At least it did long enough to finish getting ready. Hair was teased where it needed to be, your eyes were decorated with eyeliner and eyeshadow, and your lips, as always, were in blood red.
You were still quiet when you got on the backseat of the car, as you looked through the window, waiting to see which house it was this weekend. Hawkins had little to choose from anyways, and teen parties were an open invitation for everyone.
Downtown, in god-knows-who’s house, you got lost as you usually did when too many things were going on. Overwhelmed didn’t come close to explaining it.
The music felt too loud. The people were too close to one another and to you. They were yelling too. Smoke filled the air enough so the colours were dimmed. You could hardly breath without feeling as your chest was closing. And none of your friends seemed to be there with you.
You needed to get out. As if air was escaping your lungs, your chest felt heavier with every breath you exhaled, a shaking hand grasped your chest, and it took you a while to realize it was your own. You were disoriented, so you ran until you found a safe exit. A backdoor that nobody seemed to be close to.
The cold air hitted you slowly, as your body collapsed on the floor, sitting down the dirty stairs. Your hands searched for your neck, scratching it as you realized, the one who you heard crying was you. The information seemed to come to you backwards.
So maybe that’s why you don’t really register it as it happens.
You do hear a familiar voice, soft and calm, and you feel hands wrapping your wrist, and as your eyes look at them, you see his rings. So when your head travels up to meet his eyes, a soft smiling Eddie is there, whispering something you can’t quite figure out yet.
In this instance, the only thing that you can actually feel is his touch, the contradiction of his rough hands being so soft, the coldness of his rings tracing a pattern on the back of your hands. As soon as one of them leaves yours to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear, your attention is now back at him, a soft smile on his lips as he looks deep into your eyes, you feel his fingers slowly find their way on the back of your neck as he begins to whisper.
“Five things you can see.” He tells you slowly, softly, with no evident worry in his voice, even if he’s screaming on the inside.
“Wh- What?” You manage to let out as your breathing is still fast and tears still come out. He just nods and gives you a reassuring smile. You nod in return as you start looking around. “The tree.”
“That’s one.”
“Leaf.”
“That’s two.”
“Trash”
“Okay, three.” He says in between a soft chuckle.
“My…my shoe.”
“One more?” He begs.
“You.” You say as you look at him.
“Four things you can touch.” He says once again, his hand that was on your neck travelling down again to go with his left hand, holding yours tightly and softly at the same time.
“Uh…” You try to not get stressed as you look around, and can’t seem to find anything, until you look down and see his knee touching your leg, and you begin to feel the pressure it leaves back into your body. “Your knee.”
“Mmh.” He nods, as he bites his lower lip. “Go on.”
“My jeans.”
“That’s two.”
“Your hands.” He nods as his fingers stroke your skin. “And your rings.”
“Good.” He says reassuringly. “You’re doing great. Now, three things you can hear.”
“The music.” You spat out, still feeling like it’s loud.
“Yeah..”
“My voice.” He nods again as you blink slowly, regaining a sort of control of your own body, and where you were and what was going on. “And your voice.”
“Two things you can smell? Please?” Your eyes dart back to the ground, an unfinished cigarette still burning.
“The smoke.” You say as you point it. “And you.” You say as your head moves back to him, realizing again, how close he actually was, close enough to remember the way he always smells of sandalwood because he always burns it.
He smiles at you. A true smile, one that lets you know he remembers how you always complained about his room being too smoky because of his fixation with incense, and how you always begged him to open the window just three inches.
“One thing you can taste.” He says now, with his voice sounding as he always did, happy, relaxed, playful.
“Um..” You could say what you wanted to, you wanted to say you, but didn’t dare to do so, so you just looked around, until you saw Eddie reach down on his front pocket and grab two more cigarettes as he offered it to you with a peace-making smile. “That”
“Good.” He mutters as he lights it for you, before his own. You look down as you accept it, taking in the smoke to slowly release it, your shoulders finally relaxing. You feel his arm behind your back, a familiarity in the way he rests invades you again.
“Thank you Edds…” You say, as you look back into his maroon eyes. They shine as they look back at you.
“Anything you need…” He says in response softly. “I didn’t know you still got them.”
“I don’t… Well, it’s been a while since I had one.” You say as you both look at each other. Your eyes looking down at his lips involuntarily. So does he.
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
“I’m sorry you had to see it.” He shakes his head no. “But I’m glad you were here.” You confess, a soft smile forming in your lips before you can avoid it. A moment of true sincerity and vulnerability shared with him.
“D’you wanna go home?” He asks, as he nudges your leg with his knee.
“Nancy’s car so… I’ll just wait out here.” You replay as you nudge his back with your shoulder, his curly hair bouncing as you hit him playfully.
“Nah, I’ll drive you, come on.” He said as he stood up, offering his hand to you so you could stand up.
You know that taking it is a promise, a truce, a trip to the past in a way.
And you don’t care, you don’t care at all.
-
It was impressive in a way, how it stayed as it always had. It smelt the same, it was in the same neatly organized mess, even the stains seemed to be formed in the same patterns as it did when you came last time.
It was embarrassing to have to be here, but thank god he told you to come over. And you swear you grabbed your keys, and you tried to climb the windows, but your mom had the brillant idea to actually lock them down today, and she was out of town, and you had no idea where Dustin actually was so… In the end, and as he putted, it was better if you slept in his couch than on your porch.
But it did feel weird, or funny. Seeing Wayne’s mugs again, smelling the sandalwood that came from his room, and the little bit of dust that the sofa let out every time the cushions were used or moved.
A year had passed yet time seemed to not affect the Munson household.
“I um… I kept some of your things so…” He said as he emerged back from his room. A smile appeared on your face before you could help it.
“You did?” You asked, looking down at what he was carrying.
“Um, yeah, couldn’t let…” He didn’t finish the sentence, thought he didn’t have to, you couldn’t seem to let go either. In his hands, the shirt you always borrowed, some of your presumed lost underwear, and your backup toilet bag.
“Thank you Edds…” You said for what felt like the millionth time this evening. He shook his head as he gave it to you, and headed to the kitchen.
“You can uh, take a shower or anything you need, I’ll make you some tea yeah?” You nodded, as you saw him smile. “You still like it without milk?” He asked loudly from the kitchen as you passed through.
“Yeah…” You tell him, and as you close the door behind you, you can’t help but whisper. “You remember.”
And the memories keep hitting you as you let the hot water run down your body.
Eddie brushing your hair while he sang under his breath and you followed along. You washing his hair everytime the two of you happen to share the space where you where standing, and how often he would pull you closer when you had to rinse so he would be cold -and how it always ended in moaning and laughter-. You were blushing at the memory, even when you were putting the comfy clothes back on, you remember losing the little thong, and how he threw it away across the room before going down on you.
Hair still wet and slightly knotted, you stepped out to the living room, comfy and warm clothes on.
“Hey Moon..” You say before you realized you called him by his old pet name you used to use. He smiles fondly at that, so your only reaction is to blush as you look back at him. “I um… I couldn’t find the hair brush…”
“Shit yeah, it’s in my room, I’ll get it.” He says as he rushes to find it, you follow him this time, and are shocked to find that he still has a picture of the two of you on his wall. It had always been where your eyes looked first, maybe it was muscle memory at this point. But next to his Corroded Coffin sprayed-old bed sheet, close by his bed, there you were, you were kissing his cheek as he had his arm wrapped around your waist, and he was smiling at the ground.
When Eddie looked back at you, he looked at it too and gave you a coy smile, you smiled big showing your teeth, pink invading your face, just like he had in his.
“You still keep it?” You ask, as you point at it and look back at him, noticing how he anxiously plays with the hairbrush now.
“I yeah… I mean… forget it.” He begins to walk back to the sofa, and he sits down, clearly embarrassed now.
So you did what you always did, you followed him and sat next to him. And maybe it really was muscle memory for him, or just the fact that it all felt like it did before, the tension, the electricity, the care for one another, but he started brushing your hair before you could say anything else, or before he even realized what he was really was doing, but once he did, since he didn’t hear any complaints from you, he just kept going.
“Why do you still have it, Edds?” You ask in a whisper of a voice, because honestly, it felt absurd to talk at a normal volume in such an intimate moment.
“Why do you wanna know that, my love?” my love. It rings in your ears for a second longer. He hasn’t called you that since you left, and hearing his voice say it again, in such a warm tone, only made your skin tingle and fill with soft goosebumps, as wet hair hitted it. You had your back turned to him, and his fingers were cautious to not pull the hair in any way that would hurt you, leaving it softly once that section was brushed.
“I just… please?” You said as you moved a bit to quickly glance at him, a soft smile appearing in his face, his brown eyes looking black since his pupils were bigger than before.
“What do you want me to say…”
You waited in silence, knowing that once he was finished with the last strand of hair you could turn to actually face him, to actually look him in the eyes, to for once, talk things out.
So when you felt the coldness of your wet hair hit the shirt and the back of your neck, and his fingers playfully shaking it a bit, as he used to do it every time he did this for you, you rotated your body slowly, your leg completely touching his, you were both dangerously close to one another, though it didn’t feel like a problem, much to different, in felt good, in felt like it was natural.
With just a little move of your head, he knew you wanted an answer, an honest one at that, so he nodded before he opened his mouth again, looking at you before doing so. His eyes stopping for a second too long on your lips, losing themselves in them for more time than it was allowed.
“I can’t seem to let you go.” He declared, honestly, with his voice shaking. “I regret what I did, I regret not saying anything when I could, I regret not being with you. I regret not loving you as much as you truly deserved to be loved, but I could never, ever regret being with you. You have been the best thing that has ever happened to me, even if you don’t feel the same way about me I…” His eyes were glossy with held-back tears, though he was smiling as he said it all.
Your hand grabbed his, and both of your eyes looked down for a second. Yours stayed there as you began to talk, while he had only had eyes for you.
“I never could regret you Eddie.” You say sincerely. Your voice breaks as you feel everything come up again, trying not to actually cry. “You were… You are everything I’ve ever wanted…” You confess looking back up at him, smiling just as much as you do. “You did love me, I know that, but, by the end, I didn’t feel loved, you made me feel like I was unlovable… And that… That hurt so much.” You declare, breaking down, a few tears escaping, as you meet his sight again.
“I’m sorry, I really am my love. But please, please…” He begged as he squeezed your hand ever so slightly. “Believe me, you are the most lovable person I know, and you deserve everything you want and need, and I’m sorry I couldn’t give it to you… I… I wish I could, I don’t know… I just…”
“What?” You asked as his left thumb whipped a tear out of your cheek, and you buried your face in his palm.
“I wish I could prove it to you now.”
It takes a moment to understand what he is actually saying. And once you do, for once in your life, you take initiative.
Your hand leaves his touch, and travels up his arm until it reaches the back of his neck, his eyes open a bit at that, and you take that as an invitation. You move your body closer to him, so much so that you sit in his lap, pulling him closer, finally, after what felt like an eternity, you kiss him. And even if your heart is beating so fast it feels like it could escape your body, you feel how he is just has nervous as you actually are, not because he hesitates on kissing you back, but because you can actually hear his rapid heartbeat, and you can feel the way his hand grip your body, a long kiss that says I missed you. His arms wrap your waist tightly, yours grab his neck, while your body pushes his back to the couch, grinding as the kiss deepens.
You can feel him smiling as he kisses you just as intensely as you are. And you are smiling just as big.
You need to stop for a second, to actually get your breath back. But you don’t pull back, your forehead touching his, your nails screeching his skin in loving strokes, his fingers rubbing your back in true disbelief.
“Don’t fuck this up again. Please.” You tell him, with your eyes still closed.
“I won’t, I’m not losing you again.”

@amberolivia666 asked:
I have a request 🥺
Eddie is best friends with the reader and another girl. The other girl knows about the reader's huge crush on Eddie. One night, Eddie gets drunk, and the reader is taking care of him. You're laying him down on his bed, and he starts drunk mumbling, saying "oh by the way, the other night i had sex with (girls name) on this bed." And he keeps going on with the details. And the reader is just heartbroken.
You could decide if you want a happy ending .

You threw the doors open to Family Video almost ripping it off it’s hinges while putting on your vest and running your fingers through your hair. Steve’s head popped from underneath the counter watching you stomp around until you stood next to him. His eyebrow rose in question on what has gotten you so angry all of sudden. He was too afraid to ask why you chose to almost rip the door like it was on it’s last breath.
You threw your hands up in frustration and annoyance, “ I don’t understand what that girl has that Eddie can’t seem to shut his mouth about.”
You were expecting an answer from Steve who’s yet to stand up from his position and instead be crowded himself in the corner while he stared up at you.
“ Earth to Harrington? Did you hear what I said?” You waved a hand in front of his face thinking he’s too lost in his thought or simply wasn’t listening to you. Steve blinked a couple of times before he stood up and leaned against the other side.
“ I did hear you and I don’t know what you want me to tell you. Tell me again who this is about?” Steve questioned like he had no idea who you were talking about when he kew exactly who it was. It was the girl that Eddie has been hanging out with a lot. It was getting on your nerves and all you seem to hear about how interesting she is or something new each day.
“ You know exactly who, Harrington. Stop jerking around” you mumbled, rolling your eyes. He put his hands up.
“ You know, why don’t you.. I don’t know, stop hanging out with Eddie… you’ve only been hurting yourself. Are you ever going to tell him how you feel?”
Your eyes got wide and you slapped a hand over his mouth like someone else was in the store and has heard you. You looked around to see if Steve had any earlier customers but the place was deserted and it was only the two of you.
He mumbled something into your hand which you didn’t understand. Steve licked your hand and you brought it away from his mouth to wipe it on the polo shirt he’s wearing. He glances down with a deep frown.
“ Thank you for that” he sarcastically says. “ There is no harm on telling him how you feel. What’s the worst that could happen?”
“ Um.. Harrington, you do know he’s my best friend and I might lose him. No, thank you. Where is your head today?”
“ I’m aware about your best friend being Eddie Munson of all people and my head is where it should be.”
“ I don’t know how sometimes I’m friends with you” Steve shook his head as he pouted. The door opened and the both of you turned to greet them when you saw it was only Max and Dustin walking in with Mike and El trialing behind them.
“ Oh it’s just you” Steve mumbled. Dustin stops as he puts his hand on his heart.
“ That was very hurtful Steve” he says. “ I have feelings you know” He adds.
Max rolled her eyes at the two as she smiled over to you. Her smile drops when you don’t return her smile and it looks like something was bothering you.
“ What’s with the face?” She asks, motioning with her hand on her face.
“ She’s pissed off about the girl that Eddie keeps talking about and hanging around with”
“ Oh she’s cool” Dustin says like he didn’t just hear that you were pissed off. If looks could kill, Dustin would be underground by now from the look on your face.
“ She is mad” El says as she looks over to you. “ Why?”
“ Because boys are stupid” Max answers.
“ Don’t worry about it El, Y/N is very sour that she’s not the girl that Eddie wants to hang out with.”
You took the films he stacked on the counter and knocked them on the ground as you stared at him.
“ Clean it up”
“ My tapes!” He shouted throwing his hands up in the air. “ That was uncalled for” he points a finger at you and walks around the counter to pick up the tapes you had dropped on the ground.
“ You know you should tell Eddie how you feel” El suggest. “ It might make you feel better” she adds. You throw her a shrug and shake your head.
“ I don’t want to lose him” she gives you a sympathetic look. “ Hey are you going to Tina’s party that’s happening on Saturday?” Steve asked forgetting he’s been inviting and dreaded going alone.
“ Why?” You ask.
“ Because I don’t want to go alone.”
“ Why don’t you ask Robin?”
He gives you the look like why didn’t I think of that but he already did.
“ She has a date with Vicky” he says. “ She’s finally got the courage to set something up to surprise her.”
“ At least someone has their balls” Mike mutters. Next thing he knew he was falling to the ground with Max towering over him, she glared at him.
“ Say that again and it will be your fingers I’ll snap”
You were thankful Max was on your side at least for this. But you spoke to soon when she turns her head saying you should tell Eddie how you feel otherwise you might miss a chance.
“ Just think on going with me, will you?” Steve asks. “ I really don’t want to go alone” he says.
Your lips draw in a thin line and he’s well aware that parties aren’t really your thing to go to. You weren’t really a people’s person either. Not the people you went to high school with and not the people you saw at parties.
“ They are stupid” you muttered. “ I’m sure you’ll find some girl there to charm and then you’ll leave me, all alone” Steve shakes his head.
“ Eddie will be there” he says. He was probably going to be there to sell to make some money. He wasn’t very much of a partier either.
“ Are you picking him up too, or is he meeting you there?”
“ He’s going to drive over there. There is no way he’s coming inside of my car” Steve says.
“ Will you pick me up, then?” Steve’s eyes got wide at your question and a smile appears on his face when he takes notices that your agreeing to go to the party with him. He slide over the counter but it was more like rolling to the ground.
The rest chuckle at this.
He quickly got up, fixing the vest and looks around.
“ No one saw anything” he says. Max smirked.
“ We saw everything” she says while Steve walks over to you and picks you up, twirling you around. Your feet hit the films on the shelf which he doesn’t take notice after the second twirl.
“ Awe man, come on! I just put those up this morning” he puts you down and groans.
“ Your own fault, Harrington” you muttered fixing your shirt. You hadn’t noticed the others have left during this leaving you alone with Steve.
“ Where did they go?” You looked around trying to see if they were playing hide and seek or something which was weird. Steve shrugs and looks over his shoulder.
“ It’s been awhile since you’ve been to party. Do you know what your going to wear?”
“ Don’t worry about what I’m going to wear, Harrington. I think you should be more worried about if you’ll go home with a girl” he glare over to you when he shoots back a you.
“ Oh? What about you and Eddie?”
Your eyes squint at him not knowing where he was doing with this.
“ What about it?” You asked.
“ You’re not going to tell him?” You shook your head.
“ Are you joking, Harrington? I’m sure there will other girls that would be more happy to go home with him than me. I mean, I’m not really pretty” you motion to yourself and Steve shoots you a look.
“ What? I am”
He shakes his head.
“ You’re pretty. Eddie is just blind to see it”
“ Is that suppose to make me feel better?”
“ Look I’m trying here!” He shouts throwing his hands up. “ You’re my friend and I would hate to see you get hurt by him. He’s dumb.”
The door opened and Keith walked through the door staring down the two of you.
“ We were stacking these” Steve says motioning to the shelf. Keith says something and walks to the back while you look at Steve.
“ Oh shut it, go put these in another section” he hands you a box of fills that were by his feet. The rest of the week went by quicker than you thought and it was Saturday. The party was happening tonight and you were dreading on going. Not because you were going to be around people you didn’t like.
But you were kinda scared seeing Eddie with another girl.
You were looking into your closet what you would wear to the party, throwing clothes left and right and creating a pile all over your room. Your anxiety was making fun of you because you started to question what if you chose the wrong outfit or what if you chose something that shown too much skin.
Your mind was racing with too many thoughts. You didn’t even know your bedroom door opened and Steve walked in. His eyes fallen on the sight of your room.
“ It looked like a tornado hit here” you jumped at the sound of his voice, throwing a shirt into his direction that was on the hanger. He catches in his hands and raises his eyebrows on what just happened.
“ You scared me, warn a girl” he pointed behind him to the door.
“ I have knocked and told you it’s me walking in” he says.
“ Be louder next time, Harrington” he sets the shirt he had in his hands on the chair while making his way to the chair in your room that didn’t have clothes on and sits down.
“ Let me guess, you want to look pretty to catch Eddie’s eye?” You cast him a look going back into the closest looking at the colors you had and the dresses. You were thinking on a skirt but you felt self conscious of your legs.
“ Should I wear a dress?” In your hands you held up two dresses and turn to Steve who had his arms across his chest as he looked between the two of you.
“ You wear what your comfortable in” you groan, throwing your head back.
“ You’re not helping, Harrington. Pick one” he hummed putting a finger to his chin while he thought on it. You sighed seeing the was taking his precious time in deciding.
“ You know what, your not any help at all. Maybe I shouldn’t go to the party” Steve stood u from the chair and walked around your room were he looked at your clothes and picked up a shirt for you to wear and a skirt that looked cute too to go with the shirt.
He hands you the outfit and turns you around pushing you into the bathroom.
“ Go get change, you are dramatic as Eddie. No wonder you like him so much” he mutters underneath his breathe.
“ I heard that!” You shouted from the closed bathroom. “ You were meant too, now hurry up” he says through the door. You mutter underneath your breath how he was being annoying as you changed into the outfit he has chosen for you and surprisingly it looked really cute.
Your heart raced at the thought of Eddie looking over at you and noticing you. It’s not like he didn’t notice you but you wanted him to come up to you and tell you how pretty you look.
He has never told you.
You opened the door and stepped out.
“ Well?” You did a twirl. Steve’s mouth hung open as he stared at the sight of you. You were really pretty like he always told you. “ Munson is missing out” Steve says and stood up from the chair he was sitting again in making his way to the door. In his hands he had his keys.
“ Ready?” You nodded, slipping on your shoes and following him out there door to his car. The party had many people you knew and didn’t know. Your eyes scanned the familiar faces. Those familiar faces turned to look at you, eyeing your chosen outfit and giving you a whistle.
Steve’s hand was on your shoulder leading you through the crowd.
“ I need a drink” you shouted to him through the loud music and scrunched your nose at the many popped around. This wasn’t really your scene.
You spotted the back of mane of curls and the Dio vest. Steve nudged your side as he motioned his head towards where Eddie stood. It looks like he was making a sale as he talked to the other girl. The two exchanged something while your eyes watched Eddie’s hair bounces as he looked around after making the sale.
Those brown doe eyes happen to fall on you and a smile spreads on his face. His eyes move to the person next to you, Steve and his smile drops. There is a hint of change in his eye as his jaw clenches.
“ Look there is your best friend” Steve mutters to you. To Eddie, it looked very different. He thought you came with Steve to the party and the two of you were flirting. He gripped his lunch box in his hands, tightly and vanished through the crowd. He wasn’t going to stand there and watch you flirt with Harrington.
He never really thought someone like him would be a match for you. He thought Steve Harrington would be more your style since Steve could spoil you more than he could. Eddie was your best friend.
You frown losing Eddie in the crowd thinking he went to do another sale.
“ Do you think he’s avoiding me?” You asked Steve who was too busy looking around the crowd in hoping to catch girls eye. He didn’t hear you which caused you to frown. You left him standing there making your way into the kitchen looking at the various drinks laid out and a stack of red cups for you to take.
Your hand reaches for a cup when another hand beats you to it. Your heart races seeing the ring clad hand and your eyes raise to meet the face of your best friend once again. He doesn’t have a smile on his face or any kind of look for that matter.
“ Sorry” you mouth to him through the loud music. He makes his way around the counter where he stands next to you. His arm brushing against yours and you swore you felt electricity from that brief touch.
“ I’ll make you a drink” he shouts through the loudness of the music, which isn’t his taste but he’s more here to make some money. He was surprised to see you here though. He knows your not a party person.
“ Surprised your here” he says starting a conversation as he makes your drink. His hair shield his face where you don’t see the look on his face and you badly wanted to reach out to move the hair away from his face.
“ I wanted to give it a try” your voice speak out for the first time seeing him after a week. He nods and hands you the drink he’s made for you.
“ You’ll like it, I promise you” he says. Your hand brushes his own causing you to gasp. You grabbed onto the cup and quickly draw it to your chest like his touch has burned you.
“ Thank you” he nods and leans with his back at the counter with his hands on either side.
“ So, Harrington? Huh?” He looks around the party, a deep frown on his face as he stands there still talking to you but avoiding eye contact.
“ Harrington, what?” You were confused on what Eddie was on about.
“ You like him or something?” Eddie didn’t want to look at you. He was too afraid to look to find out if you liked Steve. If you did, then it would break him and he didn’t know how to handle it.
“ Steve Harrington?” Your eyebrows knit together with a small chuckle leaving you. Eddie turns his head at the sound with his eyebrow knitted together in confusion on why you were laughing.
“ I don’t like Steve, he’s my friend” Eddie tilts his head to the side but nods. He’s not really convinced you don’t like Steve. Every girl seem to like a guy like Steve Harrington.
Your eyes don’t miss the girl that walks by who waves her hand over to Eddie as she calls to him. His head snaps over hearing his name being called, a smile appears on his face as he waves back at her.
“ Who’s that?” You asked, never really seeing the girl before. She looked to be new.
Eddie turns his head seeing the look on your face. He blinked twice to see if the look he saw was real. Jealousy. That’s what he saw. He blinked again and the look on your face was gone.
“ She’s my friend” he shrugged. “ Met her at the Hide Out. She came to watch us play” He adds. Your heart sinks knowing now you weren’t the only girl to watch his band play. Something in the air between you and Eddie felt different and you hated it.
“ Do you like her?” The question came from you suddenly catching Eddie off guard. His eyes scanned your face before he answered.
“ No” he shook his head. “ I like someone else” He adds. His eyes your reaction as he says it but to only to have you look away. Your eyes fall down to the drink in your hand finding the color of the drink more interesting than his face.
“ That’s cool” you nod feeling your heart sink to your stomach. “ I’m going to go dance” you add wanting to get away from his area, from him, you wanted to cry. But you took another drink from your drink slipping through the crowd leaving Eddie on his own.
His lips form a deep frown watching you walk away. What was that all about? He shrugged it off hearing his name being called.
Meanwhile, you were looking around the dancing face, scrunching seeing the sloppy making out sessions some of them were having while others were groping each other. You leaned your back against the wall when a voice catches your attention.
“ Well, Well, Well, if it isn’t the nerd” Jason’s voice calls to you as he stands next to you.
“ Go away, Carver” you rolled your eyes at the sight of him. “ You look lost” you add. He laughs.
“ So the nerd does talk” he looks you up and down as he sways. “ How about I teach you a few things?” He licks his lips as his arms falls to the wall next to you as he peers down at you. Your nose scrunches up smelling the alcohol on him.
“ Where is Chrissy?” You asked. “ Your little cheerleader broke your heart or something?” Justin frowned at the mention of her. His silence was giving you an answer.
“ You piss her off or something? “ He sighs as he leans next to you on the wall.
“ We had a big disagreement and told me to go cool off” he mumbles.
“ Poor you” Steve makes his way over to you seeing Jason talking to you.
“ Is he bothering you?” He asked, standing in the space between you and Jason as he glares over at him. Jason chuckles at the sight of Steve, and looks behind him at you.
“ Is this your dog?” He asks. Steve notices that Jason is drunk and grabs onto your wrist, puling you into the kitchen where he turns to ask if you were okay.
“ He didn’t hurt you or anything?” You shook your head. The red cup in your hands you left near the table where Jason stood. You didn’t want to drink anymore. You were feeling out of place at the party.
“ Can you take me home?” You asked. Steve was about to answer when the girl from earlier that you saw waved at Eddie walks over to you. She looks worried from the looks of it.
“ Are you, uh… Y/N?” She asks, looking you over. Eddie had given her a description on what you look like and the outfit you were wearing and from the look of it. She had found you.
“ Yes, did you need something?”
She nods, pointing behind her.
“ Eddie is in the bathroom asking for you. I believe he had more than a few to drink and I think it’s best if he goes home. I’ve tried and he’s only pushed me away.”
You look at Steve as he says he’s going to go start the car. He didn’t drink.
“ Thanks, I’ll take it from here” she nods averting her eyes for a moment feeling like she wanted to say something else but says nothing as you slip past her making your way to the stairs. There was a couple of the stairs making out.
“ Excuse me?” You shouted trying to move past them but they didn’t hear you. Your hand reached out to tug on the guys jacket who pulled away shooting you a glare.
“ Move!” You shouted into his face. He moves mumbling “ bitch” underneath his breath and takes the girls hand as the two walk downstairs into the living room while you head upstairs to find Eddie. You knock on the first three doors but they only have been bedrooms before you found the right door. Eddie was leaning against the bath tub with his head back while e had a bottle besides him that he’s been drinking from.
“ Eds?” The sound of your voice and the closed door catches him off guard. His head moves and his eyes land on you where his eyebrows knit together.
“ Is that you Y/N?” He slurs, moving to sit up but he groans and lifts up he bottle to take another drink from it when your hand stops him. “ I think you had enough for tonight. How about we get you home?”
“ I don’t want to go home” he says slurring looking up at you with a dopy smile on his face. “ You’re so pretty” he adds. “ such a pretty flower.”
Your cheeks flush from the comment and leans down to move the hair away from his face. “ Come on, drunky. Let’s get you home and into bed.”
“ Bed” he hums, “ sounds nice.”
“ Can you stand up, Eds?” He groans something and uses the bath tub with one hand to stand up. He’s wobbly on his feet and almost falls on top of you. “ Woah there, sleep will do you some good.”
You mange to help him out of the bathroom where he stumbles into some people when he gets outside.
“ Sorry!” You shout helping him down the steps.
“ They look funny” he slurs, chuckling as he points. “ They have circles. Are you a circle too?” He asks. You were holding in your own laughter, taking one step at a time. The door to the house opened and Steve steps in looking around for you.
“ Harrington!” Eddie shouts. Steve looks up watching as you were trying to help Eddie down the stairs. “ Oh Jesus” Steve mutters making his way up the stairs and helping you with Eddie down the steps.
“ Did you know Y/N is a circle? Does that make you a square, Harrington? What am I, then? A triangle? I am defiantly a triangle. I mean look at me, it screams triangle” Eddie kept muttering to himself while you and Steve were carrying him down the steps to the car.
“ Do you think I could be a star one day? They are so pretty and bright and they are free” Eddie continues. Steve opens the back door of his car while you push Eddie inside.
“ Hey, if you wanted me to be rough, sweetheart. You should of told me” Eddie says as he leans up on the seat putting his head behind your seat. You got into the passenger side looking at Eddie.
“ What kind of sandwich do you think I could be? What color do you think I could be? I would be black because that’s metal. You know? Peanut butter sandwiches are nice, I could give to flavor too. You know?”
Steve looks at you while he drive while Eddie continues to question what he would be like as an animal, a treat, a plant etc. It went on like that until Steve drove to the trailer. You never seen his side of Eddie before.
You didn’t know weather to laugh or comment on his questions. You sat in silence hearing what he talked about. He did have a lot to drink but why?
Once you reached the trailer, you turned to Steve thanking him while Eddie looked between the two of you.
“ Are you not going to kiss him, goodnight? What kind of person are you? Don’t be a meanie” Eddie says. You look at Eddie with a look and looked at Steve who looks amused.
“ I have one better” you tell Eddie. Eddie watches with wonder eyes and laughs when you flick Steve in the forehead. Eddie leans back into the backseat clutching his stomach while he laughs.
“ Alright time to go home, drunky” you slip out of Steve’s car as he helps you get Eddie into his bed. “ Will you be okay?” Steve asks, looking down at Eddie who’s laying on his bed with his hands over his head staring at the two of you.
“ Yeah, I’ll be fine” you muttered. “ Thank you, you know for the ride and this” he nods telling you to call him if anything. Steve leaves, leaving you with Eddie who’s happily wiggling his eyebrows at you like something is about to happen.
“ Oh, Eddie. What am I going to do with you?”
His eyebrows knit together in the question.
“ Love me” he says with his hands out making grabby motions with his hands. He was still dressed in his clothes.
“ Why don’t we get you out of your clothes and into something more comfortable? How does that sound?” He nods happily listening to you and sits up with a groan.
He watches as you take out some pajamas out of his top dressers while he leans down to take off his shoes and nudges them off with his feet. He lays back down on the bed working on his handcuff belt but doesn’t seem to get it off as he can’t.
“ Help” he says his hips are thrust up as he struggles to get his pants off. You turn around seeing the trouble look on his face and the little pout he has. When he sees you have not came over to help, he kicks his feet on the bed and whines.
“ Help” he says, trying again. “ Please” he adds. He was adorable even when he was drunk. You make your way over to him and help him take down his pants, cheeks were lighting up red having to undress him. Your eyes peek at his tummy trail that looks delicious to leave kisses on. But you bite your lips watching him slip his shirt off and turn around after handing him his pajamas. Your face was bright red and when he giggled telling you to turn around seeing him in bed with his brown doe eyes staring up at you.
“ Stay” he says patting the space next to him. You couldn’t help but look at how cute he looks right now. You couldn’t not stay with him, you were going to anyways until he was sober up.
“ Let me get you some water and ibuprofen and I’ll be back” Eddie huffs putting his arms across his chest having to wait for you but doesn’t say anything. You make your way into the kitchen searching around.
“ Y/N! Y/N! Y/N!” Eddie kept shouting your name from the bedroom being impatient meanwhile you told him you’d be back. Once you found what you were looking for, you walk back to find him curled up on his side with his hair over his cheeks, some strands in his eyes too.
“ Hi” He says happily once he sees that your back. “ I want to talk to you about something” he adds. You slip off your shoes and crawling into bed with him while he scooted back to give you some room.
“ What is it?” He giggled hiding his face into the pillow. His cheeks were red.
“ You know the girl that waved to me at the party?” You nod, not sure where he was going with this. “ We had sex on this very bed, last week!” He shouts, slapping his hand on the mattress with a giggle. Your smile drops from your face and your heart sinks to your stomach.
This wasn’t something you wanted to hear from him or talk about.
“ She would make all these noises and guess what, I’ve made her squirt! Squirt! I never done that to a girl, you know?” He says. He doesn’t look at your face. Your eyes were becoming glossy. He thought you were listening to to him.
“ She has even left her marks, look I think one of them is still there” he says looking down at his chest searching for it. It was very small when he finds it and points to it with his finger.
“ Look, it’s so small” he says looking at up you. “ Are you looking, Y/N?”
“I’m looking” you wren’t really looking. You were staring at his bat tattoo instead of the make. It was hurting too much that he’s talking about the girl he had sex with. Why now?
Does he know you like him?
“ She scratched me up pretty good too know and she made me cum more than twice! I think it was three… wait.. no four… was it four?” He asked, laying down on the bed. There  was a sudden change in color on his face and he shot up in bed, covering his mouth.
“ I think I’m going to be sick” he says racing to the bathroom where you found him hurling into the toilet. You took the rubber band off your wrist and wrapped his hair up in a pony tail while you rubbed his back.
There were tears rolling down your cheeks from listening in what he told you before he races to the bathroom. You had a lump in your throat that was very hard to swallow.
Eddie flushes the toiled and you helped him up as he stood by the sink, gripping it with his hands.
“ I’m never drinking again” he says taking his toothbrush and putting some toothpaste on it. You helped him steady it as he brushed his teeth. He has yet to notice the tears rolling down your cheeks and how heart broken you look. The silence finally hits him as he takes notice you haven’t had said a word. His eyes meet yours in the mirror.
“ You’re crying” he says. His eyebrow knit together. “ Did something happen?” You shook your head with a hand on his back. “ Let’s get you to bed. You need sleep.”
Eddie follows you to bed where you help him in. He watches your every movement and you start to head to the door when you shut off his lights.
“ Stay” he says. The sound of his voice has your heart breaking even more. But you can’t handle being around him right now. No matter how much you care about him and how much you love him.
“ I’ll be on the couch” Eddie doesn’t say anything anymore but he looks as you close his door and hear the sound of your footsteps making their way to the living room. He hears the small plump of you sitting down on the couch. He rolls over on his back as sleep takes over him.
The next morning when he wakes up. He has a pounding heading and reaches over on his beside table for the ibuprofen and the water bottle that you had left there for it. He yawns as he stretches and stands up from his bed making his way into the living room. His eyes don’t catch you sleeping on the couch in the morning, it’s only the sight of Wayne that he sees there.
He looks around his kitchen seeing no note or nothing from you. His brain races knowing last night you were there helping him. There are bits and pieces that he’s remembering but no all of it. He turns around heading to the bathroom for a shower. He’s going to call you later.
When Eddie calls you later, the phone rings and rings and your not picking up. You stare at in your bedroom as it does. You know it’s him but you don’t want listen to him. You heard enough yesterday. The person he likes, it’s not you. It’s her. You felt really stupid for falling for your best friend when you weren’t even a choice to him.
You thought things would be different with him.
You’ve been really quiet at school too, not really answering question and sitting away from Eddie. Not defending him against Jason. The Hellfire table felt empty without you. You spend your lunch period in the library catching on studying. At work you don’t speak to Robin or Steve either.
You aren’t yourself and everyone can see that.
The drama room opened and Robin stepped in with Steve trialing behind her.
“ Robin?” Dustin asked.
“ Alright, dingus” she looks at Eddie sitting on his throne looking at her confused on why she’s here. “ What did you do? Because if you haven’t noticed one of our best friends, the person you seem to fawn over has stopped communicating with all of us. I want to know what you’ve done and you better stop talking or I’ll throw your ass across this room..” She glared down at Eddie.
Eddie looks at her wide eyed.
“ We don’t know what he did either. None of us do”
“ She was last seen with you, we took you back to your trailer from the party. What did you do?” Steve asks this time. He leans his hands on the table as he glares at Eddie.
“ Talk now” Steve demands, slamming his hand on top of the table.
“ I don’t know what I did! She won’t talk to me either!” Eddie shouted standing up from his throne.
“ Think Eddie, what did you say to her last?” Jeff says.
Eddie stands there looking around his friends as they all look at him for answers which he doesn’t know. His brain races at the last time he saw you. You were crying at something. He remembers telling you about the girl he slept with too.
“ I told her about the girl I slept with…” he says. Robin’s eyes are wide and Steves too.
“ You’re an idiot, Munson” Steve says.
“ What do you mean?” Eddie asks, his eyebrows knitted together as his chest feels like someone is clenching it.
“ she’s in love with you, dammit! How stupid can you be!?!” Dustin shouted as he stood up from his seat. “ Are you that much of an idiot to notice she hasn’t dated anyone and spend all of her time with you?” Mike asks.
“ You’re all she talks about” Steve tells him. Eddie’s eyes grow wide and his mouth feels dry. He had to talk to you.
“I’ve got to go!” He shouts.
But, when he gets to your house, your mom answers the door.
“ Is Y/N home?” Your mom shakes her head.
“ She went to take some time off visiting her grandparents. She wasn’t doing so good, the school agreed she needed some time too. I’m sorry, Eddie” his heart sank knowing he was too late.
“ Would you tell her I’ve stopped by if you talk to her?” Your mom nods. “ Take care” your mom tells him as she closes the door. Eddie walks back to his van with his head hang knowing he has hurt you to cause you to go away.
You didn’t want to see him and he would wait for you to come back.

Eddie and the Casserole
Imagine Eddie, who has been eating like a feral raccoon his whole poor neglected life, coming to your place for dinner.
🧄🍽🫑
You didn't make anything fancy for your best friend...just a casserole and some roasted veggies...but he smiles brightly at you as he chews the first bite. His big dark eyes get a little misty. He sits there with a napkin tucked into his shirt like a big kid, and he's excited like it's Christmas morning.
🍞🥦🍗
His table manners are non-existent, but you couldn't care less because he's bouncing in his seat and mumbling "this is sooo mhnnmmm fucking good!" Around his food.
🥕🍖🧀
You smile and says, "Jesus, Eddie, it's really no big deal. You can eat dinner here whenever you want. It's just easy weeknight..."
🍎❤️🍎
But you don't get the rest of the sentence out because he's already rounded the table to grab your face and give you a big silly kiss on the mouth. He looks you deep in the eyes and says, "You have no idea what this means to me. That you care..." he chokes up a little, suppressing tears. "I haven't had a real dinner like that since I lost...since I was really little."
❤️❤️‍🩹❤️
He hugs you so tight. He's so warm and you hear his soft whimpers as the tears begin to fall.
❤️🍒❤️
Your rub little comforting circles over his skinny back, stroke his fluffy hair, and say, "It's okay, handsome, just let it out. Shit, all this fuss and you haven't even had dessert yet! "
❤️🌶❤️
He lets go and looks you in the eye, chuckling and swiping at his cheeks. His laughlines and dimples are on full display as he says in a lower tone, "Oh honey, you're so sweet...but I already know what I want for dessert."
🧡💛 🍯 💛🧡
He gives you a cocky wink and kisses you again...slower, deeper, gentler. Your heart swells. You're both warm and full and happier than you've ever been.

Wouldn't Change a Thing
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Munson X Reader
Chapter word count: 1.2 K
Summary: When you started dating Eddie, everyone told you it wouldn'd end well... But it didn't end at all.
{Stranger Things Masterlist}
Tumblr media
You never wanted a wealthy life and having a career never sounded appealing to you. Everything you ever wanted was to live a slow, calm life. Have your place, a job you enjoy, and him.
Eddie had your attention the moment you started High School. And, because he never really cared about school, he graduated the same year you did. And that was a good thing because it was during that year that you started to hang out, and by the end of it, Eddie asked you to be his girlfriend.
And, as you expected, your parents didn't like it. They gave you hell for a long time, but as time went by, they started to understand you and Eddie were a thing. A solid, real thing. There was no breaking you apart, that was crystal clear from the beginning.
For you, Eddie changed. Neither of you had college plans, so you both started looking for jobs. It took him way too much time to find one, and when he did, he spend his first paycheck on a trip to Indianapolis, just the two of you.
And you came back married.
It's unnecessary to say people were in shock, your parents more than anyone. But it didn't matter. You were both adults, with jobs, and the next thing you knew, you were renting a house and moving.
Four years later, you have a four-year-old child... Because the two of you were as busy as rabbits.
And that didn't change one bit.
“And then the shark goes RAWL!” Jimmy says, and when you look up from your book and through the window, you see him splashing the little shark toy into the water.
The plastic pool was huge, a gift from your mother to Jimmy last Christmas. It was a pain in the ass to keep clean, and it needed a hell lot of water. But it was Summer, the first Summer you and Eddie managed to coordinate your vacation with the end of the school year, so you don't mind the pool.
“Yeah, but you know what's way cooler than a shark?” Eddie asks, and Jimmy looks up at him, fresh from a dive, hair glued to his face. “This!” Eddie pulls up the water from under his chair and shoots at a laughing Jimmy.
“Not fair!” Your son yells, diving again for protection.
“Hey, come back here! This fight is far from over!” Eddie gets up, his rock band T-shirt, with the sleeves cut off wet from their playing. He circles the pool, and the moment Jimmy comes up for air, he shoots again.
The scene makes you smile, and you feel so blessed that your eye fills with tears. Sometimes, your mother still talks about how much better life could have been if you went to college... And for setting your eyes on someone better than Eddie. But the thing is, there's nobody better than Eddie, not for you. And if you could go back in time, you wouldn't change a thing.
The doorbell rings and you put the book down, heading to the door.
“Hello, Mrs. Munson.” Says the dark-skinned boy, with a smile on his lips, and a truck in his hands. “We can pick up Jimmy.” He gives his older brother a look. “Imma go in and call him, you stay cause mom said-”
“I know what mom said.” The teenager says, then looks at you with an apologetic look. “Good morning, Mrs. Munson. I hope we're not-” He stops talking when little Anthony walks right past you. “Anthony!”
“Let him.” You say, smiling. “Jimmy is in the backyard!” You tell the kid before offering his brother something to drink. He says he's good, then you ask about his mom. But the conversation is short, because Anthony and Jimmy come out, your son soaking wet, with a towel around his shoulders.
He looks up at you, pouting already. “I know I should change, but the sun will dry me and Tony has a pool too.”
With both hands on your hips, you bend down. Then, you smile. “Alright. You have some clothes at Tony's if you need any.” You get on one knee and Jimmy throws his arms around your neck, kisses your cheek, and walks out with Anthony.
“Better behave, little shark!”
“Okay!” He shouts back.
Once you're alone at home, an idea comes to your head. Rushing upstairs, you change into a black bikini - Eddie's favorite -, and goes back down, heading to the backyard. But Eddie is nowhere to be seen. “Where are you, Freak?” You ask, walking towards the pool.
“Who do you think you are to call me a freak?” He yells suddenly, and arms encircle your waist. “You're more of a Freak than I am.” Eddie lifts you, and before you can say anything, he's putting a hand under your legs and throwing you in the pool.
You have half a second to hold your breath before you're in the water, but soon enough you're up, grabbing Eddie by the shirt before he can move away. “That wasn't very nice!” And you start pulling him, trying to get him to get inside the pool.
“You started it!”
“I did not.”
“Oh, you did.” When it gets clear you'd never get his legs to move, you wrap your arms around his neck for support, and jumps, locking your legs around his waist. Eddie almost loses his balance before he catches you, hands under your thighs. “What's that about, wild one?”
“First of all, I wanted to chill in the pool with you.” You say, smiling down at him.
Eddie raises an eyebrow. “And second?”
“I have something to tell you.” Biting your lip, you try to keep the smile off your face. And fails.
“What did I do this time?” He asks, seriously worried.
Rolling your eyes, you chuckle. “Well, you did do something...” Eddie furrows his eyebrows, tilting his head to the side a little. Pulling some hair off his face, you peck his lips. “I'm ninety percent sure you got me pregnant again.”
Your cheeks are burning at that point because you have no idea what his reaction would be. Jimmy was a surprise. And so is this baby. But Eddie doesn't say anything, he just keeps looking at you. But you can see the gears turning in his head. “I shouldn't have thrown you in the pool!” He exclains, and it makes you laugh.
“I'm pregnant, not sick, Eddie.”
“No, no, no. You gotta relax.” Then, he finally steps inside the pool, sitting down with you. The water reaches your neck like this. “When did you... For how long...”
“I'm late. Very, very late... And that pasta you made yesterday?”
Your favorite.” He nods. “You hated it.”
“I did. Just as it happened when I was pregnant with Jimmy.”
“And you've been complaining about your tities being sensitive.”
“Funny how that's the only thing you noticed.” You say, rolling your eyes. “Anyways, I'll buy a test tomorrow. But by all the signs... I'm pretty sure it'll be positive.”
“I really hope it is.” He says, a smile on his lips.
“Really?” Moving to sit on his lap, you play with his hair, now soaking wet at the tip.
Eddie doesn't answer, he just kisses you, a long, sweet, and passionate kiss. “I love you, and I'll love all the kids you give me.”
That makes you blush again. “How about chilling in the pool for a while, hitting the sheets, and then we go to grab that test?”
“A perfect plan, my lovely Freak.” And he kisses you again.

Eddie Munson x F Reader Imagine you're In A Band And You Surprise Eddie!
Tumblr media
Imagine you're secretly in a band called "Hells Succubus" and Eddie has NO IDEA, He mentions that he hasn't had a favourite female-fronted band for a while. Challenge accepted! You tell him and the rest of hellfire and your friends to meet you at the local bar where they'll be playing to a sizable crowd. draw dropping reactions ensue along with a very surprised and horny for his girlfriend metal head. Enjoy!
WARNINGS: MUCH SMUT AHEAD especially in chapter 2 (I'm here for the thirst ;) swearing, drug and alcohol use. f + m sexual relations, oral sex on both parts and vaginal sex, Dirty Talk also!
Much DnD and 80s music references (The 80s is my favourite period for rock and metal music :) I think that's pretty much it! Enjoy my loves! Also, I'm aware the song I used was sung by Vixen in 1990 but I think it really fits the tone!
NOTE! I am from the UK so if I do get any references wrong I do apologise! I had to search up how our school systems work! T'was enlightening!
===========================================
"all's I'm sayin' is, I haven't heard any good ones lately! Vixen, sure their good but not many others" You simply rolled your eyes at the centre of your world, your reason for living, the light of your life, your pumpkin or as he was known to others Eddie Munson, Local town freak and metal extraordinaire. You all found yourselves at your usual spot in the school cafeteria, it was a Friday so the kids were abuzz with the weekend. The rest of the Hellfire Club mumbled excitedly over the next campaign, with a few insults of "Dustin your a paladin PLEASE heal us faster this time!" Whilst you and your boyfriend bickered over the topic of the current best Rock bands.
Buzz cut Eddie had been drawn to you like a moth to a flame when he first met you in 6th grade. You'd been quietly humming to yourself some Alice Cooper lyrics whilst you casually drew the Album artwork for 'Welcome To My Nightmare'. The Coop was your god and you wouldn't have a bad word said against him! Eddie found it oddly charming as he got to know you. You taught him all the best ways to tame his wild hair after he'd been head-banging too hard. The best way to sew his band patches onto his jacket, at least until he'd got the hang of it, he was so proud of himself! And had many magical hours of conversation, either sober or high off your faces about how rock music was the best thing in the world! Your chest blossomed with pride as you saw Eddie transform into his authentic self, you still held that same pride for your boyfriend because he refused to conform, and be something he wasn't. He was pure Rock n Roll baby!
You can still remember the day that he drove you to lovers lake, he played your favourite cassettes in the van, put on his best denim vest (The one with the huge DIO patch on the back) you could still smell the gorgeous cologne he wore and how he was so damn nervous. You picked your usual spot and smoke some weed, had a couple of cans of beer and had an amazing night together. You can also remember the moment he turned to you, messing with his silver rings again and confessed his love for you. Turns out he'd been in love with you since he saw you drawing that damn album cover, he'd been smitten with you for as long as you'd been smitten with him. Buzz cut an all. From then you'd been the freakiest couple of Hawkins, the most likely pair to be a bunch of Satanists. It was you against the goddamn world and you wouldn't have it any other way.
You could feel the grin getting wider on your face as you reminisce, it wasn't till a few moments later that you noticed the clicking fingers in front of you. You snapped back to reality and shook your head "Sorry baby, what did you say?" Eddie just huffed a laugh, shaking his head and making his brown curls bounce "I saaaaaaid" He poked your cheek " you still haven't given me any examples of good bands" Your mind rebooted as you remembered the conversation 'ah we're still on that one…maybe nows a good time to mention it' you chewed your lip as you rolled what IT was around your mind. Eddie knew practically everything about his princess, what you hadn't told him was you were actually in a female-fronted band and YOU fronted that band. You'd only been going for a couple of years but a bunch of girls you'd met at a summer camp long ago became really good friends, had similar interests and for the fun of it, you decided to start a band. Nothing serious, just something to pass the time on lazy weekends when you weren't with Eddie. You never told him about it because hell you thought he'd laugh! Here was this adonis that you worshipped as a guitar-wielding metal god, and you just felt fucking silly about it all. So you covered it up as some kind of family time thing and Eddie simply shrugged his shoulders and brought the little white lie.
However, recently you played a fantastic gig at a bar in the next town and the crowd loved you! So much so, the guy behind the bar called his cousin who owned a sister bar in Hawkins and told her to book your band! You and your band mates were thrilled and couldn't wait for the next gig, You'd heard a few town members of Hawkins muttering how excited they were for the band to perform, even some of your bullies were excited. You had to chuckle to yourself because NOBODY had a clue it was yours. Your day-to-day look was far more toned down than your stage look so it was no wonder nobody recognised you. Maybe tonight was the night to let the cat out of the bag? Not just to Eddie but to your friends as well, You'd love to see the look on your best friend Robin's face too!
"Actually," You thought quickly about how you could keep this a secret for as long as possible, you wanted to surprise Eddie. "One of my favourite bands is playing in town tonight…Female fronted as well" Eddie quirked an eyebrow at you and leaned forward with his hands clasped, you'd caught his interest "Really now? And what's the band called (y/n)?" you swallowed a nervous lump in your throat "Th- they're called 'Hells Succubus'? I don't know if you've heard of them? Their relatively new?" Eddie hummed "Yeah yeah I know the band, not personally but a few guys from the band went to see them a couple of months ago and said the lead singer is smoking hot" he commented nonchalantly. Your heart swelled with pride again, Eddie had been very dedicated in his love for you, he'd kiss the ground you walk upon (if you let him) and treated you like a princess as much as he possibly could. His eyes never strayed, he never looked at another girl, like he'd said time and time again "Your my world baby, I'm your problem now!". What a surprise he'd get tonight! You couldn't wait to see his reaction
"Well…" you turned and rummaged through your bag, pulling out a poster to show to Eddie, fortunately, it didn't have your band's faces on, just the name, eloquently written. You'd all agreed that just because you were a rock band, borderline heavy metal sometimes. You'd didn't have to follow everyone else with an intense font that was just a mess and looked like a splat of paint, you preferred something that fit the vibe.
You gauged your boyfriend's reaction. His eyes scanned the details and he made small humming noises as he went. His brown eyes turned to you "You say they make you happy princess? You like them?" you nodded eagerly. "Well then" He leaned forward and kissed your cheek softly "let's go and see Hells Succubus….boys!" He turned to the rest of the table, the boys popped their heads up like meerkats, waiting for instructions. You had to laugh "Get your rock on, we're going to see a band tonight. Consider it a club trip" the boys all cheered. The metal Head turned to you and winked. Tonight was going to be good!
And that's how you found yourself in the dressing room in the back of the bar. You looked at yourself in the mirror and smiled, your boyfriend's bright eyes smiling back at you from the small polaroid you'd stuck in the frame of the mirror. It was a picture of the both of you, you in the front and Eddie behind you, with the dopiest grin, firmly holding a Metallica album in his hands. It was the 'horsemen Of The Apocalypse' album and it was brand new at the time, and to think you had 'Master Of Puppets' hidden away in your room, ready to give Eddie for his upcoming birthday. The picture had become your good luck charm when you performed, before you'd head out to meet the girls, you'd always blow a kiss to the picture.
You shook your head fondly and continued to apply your Make up. The black eyeshadow you used threatened to swallow up your (e/c) eyes but made the whites pop at the same time. Mixed in with a bit of red it looked sinful. Your dark full red lips pouted back at you, you wondered if you'd make Eddie want you as much as you wanted him when you saw him play. You remember the uncountable times you'd seen Corroded Coffin and watched Eddie like a Hawk watches a Mouse. You could feel yourself getting wet with excitement as you watched the same fingers that pleasured you dance over his guitar. you'd bite your lip when your boyfriend's eyes would fall on you and the air was suddenly knocked out of you. His gaze was like an invisible grip that held you in place, preventing you from moving as he played for you and only you.
You shook your head, there'd be plenty of time for that later, right now you needed to tighten your corset over your black see-through blouse, the tattered sleeves floated around as you pulled the leather tight, and your breasts immediately jumped to attention, dangerously perched on top of the corset. "He won't know what hit him" you mumbled to yourself with glee, fixing the multiple necklaces in place. your most prized one gently rested on your cleavage. It was a ring that Eddie gave to you, it had a black heart in the middle with bat wings on either side, it was another one of your most treasured items next to the picture. You finally stood up. Pulled up your leather bell bottoms and adjusted your clunky belt. this one was your favourite. It has large black lips with vampire fangs peeking out from the top lip. It reminded you of the aesthetic of the band. A group of succubus had emerged from the pits of hell and used the power of music and sin to draw in unsuspecting victims, that's what you called your fans and they lapped it up.
You took one last look at yourself, grabbed your can of hair spray and covered yourself head to toe in it. It was the best thing to keep your make-up and backcombed hair in place for the whole gig. You didn't want to look like a sweaty mess, you wanted to look pristine for your lover. Your eyes fell upon the picture again "That comes later, lover" you blew a kiss to polaroid Eddie and turned to leave. You were ready.
WITH EDDIE AND THE GROUP
"I don't understand! She should be here! She's going to miss it!" Eddie moaned into the table, his head 'thunking' against the wood. Robin laughed at the dejected metal head. You had assured your friends, the boys and your boyfriend that you'd meet them all at the venue, you had a few extra errands to run before the gig started. "Chill your beans Goldie Locks, (Y/N) said she'd be here didn't she? I'm sure she's just doing herself up so you'll fuck her senseless tonight" Robin chortled as Eddie perked up, his cheeks bright red "do you think so?" "Course I do you perv…now just relax" Eddie frowned at the quip "anyway" Robin continued looking at Dustin, Mike and Lucas "How the hell did you get the toddlers in? This is a bar" "I promised the staff they wouldn't drink, besides they've got 'Steve The Babysitter' to look out for them huh big boy?" Eddie winked at Steve who scowled in return, he took a sip of his beer "'s my night off Munson" "We can look after ourselves you know?" Dustin piped up, the boys nodding. Robin looked over unconvinced "Hush now children…drink your Sodas" she pushed the drinks over and turned back. Nancy smacked Robin's arm to shush her "Quiet! It's starting!" "Nance were not in a theatre" Steve chuckled. The group turned to look at the stage, Eddie hadn't actually taken a look at the instruments properly, worrying about your absence, he was either staring at the entrance to the bar or your empty chair. But now he had a chance to get a look at the stage he whistled in appreciation, it was a nice set-up.
The drums lay at the back with black skins with red flames threatening to engulf them, the band's logo proudly displayed on the front of the kit. Two guitars, similar in their design. a Base guitar and finally a keyboard. 'Damn (Y/N) wasn't kidding, these guys are serious' he turned his eyes to fellow members of Corroded Coffin and they silently nodded at each other 'we need to up our game' was a mutual thought. Eddie loved the microphone the most, it had two simple little bat wings on it, very quirky. His stomach dropped as he saw the bartender walk up to the mic, her heels clicking on the wooden floor. He turned to look at the entrance again with worry "(Y/N) where are you?" he frowned in worry as he turned back.
The bartender spoke "Ladies and Gentlemen! Thank you so much for coming! Tonight we've got a real treat for you all! This is actually this band's debut in Hawkins and we're super pumped that they chose to debut with us! The band consists of some of Hawkins's finest students!" The group all looked at each other completely perplexed, how had they not heard of them before? They turned back as the Bartender continued "This band promises to make you rock hard and feel the flames of hell! Ladies and Gents put your hands together…..HELLS SUCCUBUS!" Loud cheers cascaded from all sides of the bar as the band members slowly sauntered onto the stage. Smoke erupted from the smoke machine as the lights on stage turned red.
"Unsuspecting Victims of Hawkins! Are you ready to be seduced?!" Eddies eyes suddenly widened…he knew that voice anywhere. Before he could utter a word the lights changed to white and the smoke cleared, and all he could see was you! Standing proudly in the centre of the stage. You licked your lips as the crowd cheered. You could see people from all walks of life in the bar. A few bikers, a few people from school and even Hopper in the back tipping his sheriff's hat to you in respect. Your eyes looked down and finally landed on your group of friends. They all looked astonished! Robin's eyes bugged open and she was suddenly screaming "YESSSSSS GIRL". Steve looked like a fish out of water whilst Nancy had the biggest smile on her face. The boys all looked at you and the girls like you we're the best thing since sliced bread. And finally, your eyes landed on your Boyfriend and he did not disappoint. His eyes were shining bright at you, his mouth hung open as all the air in his body left him.
Eddie didn't believe in God all that much, how could he? When he'd had to deal with all the shit in his life. He'd heard about these dumb ass religious experiences and could never imagine it would happen to him. That was until he'd met you, from then on he considered himself practically born again, worshipping at your feet and yours alone. He'd touched heaven so many times like when he'd asked you to be his girlfriend when he first kissed you when you'd fucked for the first time when he said he loved you for the first time and right now. Right now he was staring into the eyes of some kind of hellish goddess, he swore at that moment that he would sell his soul for you. For who was he to stand in the presence of this unearthly rock creature who looked like she could eat him up right there, promise him everything as she melted his tattoos with her heat. your eyes met and a sinful smirk stretched across your face. You licked your lips and practically heard Eddie moan as you opened your mouth to speak.
"Tonight my devilish creatures, We're not only in our home town but I have someone very special in the audience, my own personal plaything, you may know him as the lead guitarist from Corroded Coffin, I know him as the sexiest demon alive so we're going to play something special for him…This is for you Eddie Munson" You winked at him as you saw his eyes widen even further. You'd got him "This is 'Not A Minute Too Soon' Hit it, girls!" You yelled in joy, and the bar erupted into claps and cheers as the guitars and drums kicked in. You immediately lost yourself in the music and moved to the beat, swinging your hips and moving your head to the beat. You moved to the microphone to ready yourself
I was pretending it was easy alone I built a fortress to keep out the unknown Surrounded myself with the walls of rejection Trapped in the dungeon for my own protection Your smile came shining through so pure I knew
Not a minute too soon Your love came through for me You are the water in my desert Not a minute too soon Your love got through to me You rescued me just in the nick of time
Eddie almost lost his mind, he was on the edge of his seat but was instantly blown away by your voice, he tried to catch his breath as the sound washed over him. It was like he was drowning in ecstasy, this had to be a dream, a very very wet dream. How was this possible? His most gorgeous girl on a stage, dressed like THAT and singing like THAT! He couldn't believe his fucking luck, and neither could his dick apparently. He could feel himself growing harder by the second, is this what it felt like for you when he played? Holy shit, it was like the best torture possible. He wanted to jump up the stage, tear your trousers down and fuck into you like there was no tomorrow as you sang your moans into the microphone so EVERYONE would know how good he was to you. The fact that you'd told everyone in the bar that he was your boyfriend, EVERYONE! He could almost cry. He never thought he'd find someone like you, let alone someone that would happily scream to the world that he belonged to someone. Clearly, he'd died on the way to the venue because this wasn't possible. You caught eyes with the boy again and smirked at him, clearly he was enjoying this WAY more than you thought he would. You continued with the song, swaying your hips suggestively and flicking your hair behind you.
Time after time I threw my heart away My faith was fading fast day after day I had enough of giving in I couldn't lay down my pride So love just pushed me aside Your kisses washed away my thirst Every touch felt like the first
Not a minute too soon Your love came through for me You are the water in my desert Not a minute too soon Your love got through to me You rescued me just in the nick of time
In this angry world I thought loneliness would shelter me My broken spirit cried in vain Till you set me free
The guitar solo instantly kicked in and you danced around the stage, you had at least thirty seconds of your friend's wicked playing to fill and you got a wicked idea. You turned to your band members with a devious smile on your face and they all smiled back. You'd told them about what you wanted to do during your little Pow-Wow before the show started and they loved it. You grabbed the microphone out of the stand, careful not to trip on the wires and executed your plan. Eddies eyes widened as you hopped off the stage and made a beeline straight for him, bouncing on your platformed boots as you went. You were forever grateful that he'd stolen a chair right in front of you. He looked at you hopelessly and mouthed 'your gonna kill me baby girl' at you. You simply smiled and came closer to him. By the time you stood in front of him you swung your leg around his hips and sat down snuggly on his lap, you could feel cock was rock hard through his jeans, the poor baby must have been in agony. You looked down at him and licked your lips suggestively before you began singing again.
Your kisses washed away my thirst Every touch feels just like the first
You began to slowly grind your hips onto your boyfriend, not obviously so but just enough to get a reaction out of Eddie, he threw his head back with a barely restrained moan and wrapped his hands around your leather-clad ass, his large hands directed you and pushed you to keep humping his desperate dick through his jeans. He looked up at you again with nothing but deep affection and thirst, like the song you sang to him, he was drinking you in, you were his own personal brand of drug and he was close to whiting out. You looked down at him through thick lashes as your hair fell in his face. You continued.
Not a minute too soon Your love came through for me You are the water in my desert Not a minute too soon Your love got through to me You rescued me just in the nick of time Not a minute too soon Your love came through for me You are the water, yeah, you are the water
Eddie was so close, so fucking close. He hadn't creamed in his trousers since he was a pre-teen but fuck you made it impossible, the way you sounded, the way you sang to him, the love in those lyrics, he could feel the truth. Fuck his heart hurt so badly in such a good way right now. He was going through all the ways he could keep you in his life. If he could afford a ring he'd marry you tomorrow, He could feel tears leaking down his eyes as he gazed upon your face. You tried to convey as much as you could with your words and your eyes, your own shining with tears. Eddie thought you looked breathtaking. "(Y/N) I'm so close…please…." He moaned, his eyes pleading with you to either stop or grind harder. You smiled sadly and kissed him sweetly. "meet me in the dressing room after" You whispered before you launched yourself off his knees and straight back onto the stage, the crowd erupted again. All you could hear was whistling and cheering, your band mates smiling at you knowingly. You waved at the audience as you continued your final verse.
Not a minute too soon Your love got through to me You rescued me just in the nick of time Not a minute too soon (Not a minute too soon) You are the water in my desert (Not a minute too soon) You know your love came through for me, your love got through to me (Not a minute too soon) I want you to rock me, roll me (Not a minute too soon) I wanna be the one
The song finished and the place went wild! You all smiled at each other and you looked down at your friends again, Robin was losing her mind and the rest of your friends weren't doing much better, even Nancy was screaming and applauding you. The only one that was sat down was Eddie. His hand frantically pushed down his very OBVIOUS problem. He took his jacket off and covered his legs before clapping and screaming for you. You gave him a watery smile and approached the microphone again.
"Thank you so much, folks! Thank you! We've only got three more songs tonight. The fourth one will be our very own creation whilst the other two will be covers, and the next one for you tonight is" You looked straight down at Eddie, a large sadistic smile on your face, he looked at you pleadingly….not that one…any but that one.
"Holy Diver by DIO…..and One…Two…Three…Four…"
The band began again, the cheers were deafening and Eddie Munson Knew he was fucked.

Onward Through the Upside Down (Eddie Munson x Reader)
(I have a lot of feelings about Stranger Things. I love the show, and the older characters are ones I have always sort of gravitated towards. When Eddie cropped up in season 4, I fell in love, along with the rest of society. He is absolutely the boy I crushed on in high school and made bad choices with, so clearly I had to do a series with him. He's at least 20-21, so I felt like this worked well. Obviously, season 4 spoilers, but I take my liberties. If this takes off or goes well, I'll continue it for sure. So like and comment if it tickles your fancy. If not, that's okay, I often doubt my own stuff enough that it's fair.)
Pairing: Eddie Munson x future!Reader

“Get to the ship! The Class Nine’s are breaching the hull, we don’t have time for goodbye’s!” The voice you knew that belonged to Kellen Dorn rang loudly over the horns and sirens, bodies running through the narrow, dimly lit halls reinforced with titanium that the creatures had learned to eat through.
You were cradling the head of your father, blood trickling down his forehead as he looked up at you, lips shaking as he tried to form words, “Hey… hey hey hey… l-l-listen, young lady,” he coughed out, blood trickling as you held the older man in your arms, aware acutely of the multiple puncture wounds he’d sustained keeping the blast door open long enough to get the rest of the survivors in. He wouldn’t leave anyone behind. He wouldn’t leave you.
Hot tears came falling down your face, your tattered jeans and worn long-sleeved shirt looking worse for wear as it hung off you. There were scratches on your face from your own fight with the Class 2 air-types. You brushed back his hair, whimpering as you clung to his fading form, “No, dad! C’mon, I won’t go, not without you!” He wasn’t your father by blood, but he had raised you alongside his own. He had welcomed you, this Burned Warrior that the US called former Soviet fighters. The regions had formed together, banded as one when the rift in the Baltic cracked open, Hawkins no longer the center of anything. It had become a hole long ago.
He took your hand, the one brushing back his hair, knowing he wasn’t long for this world. He had finally run out of lives, “Hey, I know this hurts… I know -cough- that you don’t want to, but you’re our only chance, Y/N. I’m not gonna make it, and you know that. I won’t see any more of my children die, do you understand?” His face was gruff, and he was in pain. Anguish. He had watched almost all his children die, not more than three days ago, and his wife a few years before. He had stopped running.
A part of you wanted to argue with him, to beg him to get up. But the alarms were screaming, red and yellow lights flashing through the bunker, the sounds of gunfire and screams filling the air. And so you nodded, only twenty-four years old and suddenly carrying the weight of eternity on your shoulders. Leaning down, you pressed your lips against his forehead and smiled, “I love you, Dad.”
After that it had been chaos, a few military personnel dragging you down a bunker, ten floors deeper, kept firmly under lock and key. It was the bunker the Soviets and the US had built together when they realized this wouldn’t work. When it couldn’t. When One had murdered the last of the children they were trying to protect, without even entering the building. He had convinced a guard to remove their metal ear pieces. It took him seconds. Now, you were already being strapped with devices upon entry, told almost nothing as men and women in labcoats hit you with antivirals, wired you up, handed you a bag. It was all told to you in a hurry, the alarms still blaring and somehow more frantic.
Before you stood a doorway, the one you supposed you had been built for. Made of metal, sparking and crackling as it siphoned what energy could be spared as the facility become increasingly more compromised. And as you were shoved, bag in hand, towards this door you had been trained on for over five years now, you felt beyond incapable.
“Whatever you do! Don’t tell them!” The machine was starting up now, the air picking up in the room as the sounds howled and the world rocked, you looking down at the platform to the man you had come to know very well. He had grown up enamored with Nicholas Tesla and he had come up with the theory for the machine, “They’re going to ask, you can’t tell them!”
“Then what do I say?” You called back to the older man, who was trying his best to give you an encouraging smile. You had considered so many times how to begin but for Will, it was how it was going to end.
“Tell them… a sphinx chronoshifted you!” He was smiling, like an idiot, the way he’d smile when he talked about his friends. The way he smiled when any of them came by, and before the Class Ten Non-Corporeal had broken through.
Standing on the metal platform, bag strapped around your torso with your weapon holstered at your hip, you felt wildly unprepared for what was about to happen. But the alarms were getting louder, and as the door at the back flung open, it was clear this was your only shot. Two monsters stormed in, heads opening like some sort of deranged flower, teeth shown as they began to attack those within. Blood was being shed, and Will, knowing this was all he had left, slammed his hand down hard on the panel before him.
No safety checks.
No coms checks.
Just a one-way-ticket.
All at once the platform you were on tossed you high into the air, into white nothingness, into the void and absence of. You were falling, not realizing how loudly you were screaming, blood still on your face and hands, your clothes. You were tumbling, screaming, rolling, spinning into another world. Another place.
Another time.
Nothing.
“Y/N…”
Silence. Quiet.
“Y/N.”
A low rumble.
“Eddie!” The voice was screeching, waking you from whatever trance you’d been in long enough to see where you were. At present, your body was sprawled on the dry dirt, taking in this world absent of life before you. The machine, the awkward, tricky thing that it was, had spit you out in half the right place. Hawkins, by the trailer… but in the Death Realm.
Scrambling to your feet, you tried to make sense of what you saw. To the left of you there was a child, screaming out for Eddie, and to your right, somewhat ahead, was a man, becoming enveloped by Class 1 flyers you hadn’t seen since your introductory days. They were lethal in large numbers, you knew that, and for whatever reason, these two were here. And chasing them.
It was training that took over as you read the situation, noticing that the kid had stopped running and limping, but was still calling Eddie’s name. He probably saw you. Hard not to. So you withdrew the machete that had the delightful serrated edge, running towards the flock of chaos, immediately slicing at the thick leather and muscle that would await. Easy hits, if you did it right.
And you did.
The cries that had been coming from the man inside the heart of the monsters continued, but appeared less pained as you tore your way in, slashing at a few others, plunging your blade into one by his head. His eyes were wide, beautiful but so terrified, and you briefly assessed for damage, knowing more would be diving in, “Can you get up?!” You yelled, trying not to get yourself drowned out.
The man scrambled up, looking worse for wear, but he could walk, “Hell yeah! Who the fuck are you? How’d you get here?!” He was given little time to ask anything as she grabbed his wrist, yanking him forward hard, tossing him out of the center of the chaos. Eddie stumbled, but stood still, watching as this ethereal woman, this fighter he knew only from things like The Terminator and Princess Leia, lay waste. She grabbed what looked like a grenade from her hip and popped the pin, dropping it in as she began to run, dragging this new one with her.
Eddie didn’t need to be told twice when to get his ass going, and he followed along with her, getting to where poor Dustin was before her eyes widened, “Brace!” She pushed them both down hard, Dustin screaming in pain, his already broken leg not prepared for the sudden movement, but in the next moments they were glad.
All at once, light exploded forth, beautiful and white, swirling and spinning igniting everything it touched, scorching the bats. Both boys turned to watch it happen, almost unbelieving of the destruction wrought from this… person. Whoever this was. Their eyes were wide as the explosion died down, and hundreds of them began to fall, dead, “We need to go,” she muttered, getting to her feet.
They seemed to have the right idea, Eddie balancing Dustin as they went back to the trailer, the one that held their door open to return home.
“Eddie, you huge idiot! What were you thinking?!” Dustin was screaming at the man, moving inside the trailer as Eddie winced, having sustained a few painful bites.
“I dunno, dude, best rock concert of all time doesn’t mean anything if the world isn’t around to appreciate it!” He was yelling back, your own ears feeling pained from all this.
In truth, things hadn’t calmed down in… years. You had wanted to say that you hadn’t even had time to grieve the loss of your father, or your friends. Grieve the loss of your own world. You were somewhere new, somewhere the books and stories had prepared you for, but somehow couldn’t prepare you at all. How did you tell them they were ghosts, some of them? Could you? And was that even the worst of it?
The two looked at you now, standing inside, realizing that the things you had blasted weren’t coming back, “Who are you, anyway?” Eddie had asked it before, but he was more curious now. So you took a breath, sighed, and looked at them.
“A sphinx chronoshifted me here,” you said, nonchalant.
Part of you had understood that the children of Hawkins who had first encountered the Death World had used Dungeons and Dragons to make sense of the unthinkable. It had to make sense. It had to fit somewhere that made it make sense. These children, some now growing into adults, were watching the world and people they love fall apart or die. Nancy had lost Barb and blamed herself for it, forever. Joyce losing Will even briefly. They all wanted it to make sense. And Max… poor Max. She had been hurt so badly through it all. She had been their miracle.
Eddie looked at you, possibly with anger in his eyes as he got closer, clothes tattered and with caked in blood, not all of it his. If he had cared enough to look, yours were the same, “Is that a joke?” Perhaps it was having almost died, or perhaps that this woman he felt must be an actual goddess had saved him was muttering about a campaign component argued over in the Monsters Manual.
“No joke. I’m uhm… I’m not from around here.”
It had been hard not to fall at your knees, if Eddie were being honest. He had sworn in the moments being engulfed by the baddies of the Upside Down that he had seen God, but that bright flash of light had wound up being… you.
Back when Eddie and Dustin were fashioning their shields, Eddie had made a choice. He had decided, in the moment when he saw Dustin running and laughing, serious but still with his own dose of humor, a child in a position one should never be in, that he - Eddie - wasn’t going to survive this. At least, he wasn’t going to make that his goal. Instead, Eddie had decided his goal was to make sure the rest of them did survive it. And when he saw things weren’t going to end well, that the bat-things were probably going to get into the trailer and probably going to get through, he had decided his life was not worth more than the rest of the world’s. A probably wasn’t enough and he had given his life.
Seeing you had been a little bit trippy. The light that had come forth seemed to erase the shadows and darkness from the world he was in. Lightning, bright and white, had crackled and slammed into the earth. He had watched your form hit the ground before another set of teeth pierced his flesh in his side. Sharp and full of desperate need to devour, he had thought even then he was done for.
The last thing he had expected was you. The sound of the machete slicing through the creatures had been grotesque and had masked the sounds of his own anguish. He had watched them cry out, and he had seen you hardly balk at them. Fury was what lay behind your eyes and he had wanted to cry. He had seen God, and God had granted him mercy.
A thing of beauty, no less. A little bit Sarah Conner mixed with an ethereal grace not granted to the women he had slept with when he was drunk or high. There was something to you that he recognized, not that he had any idea what. It was a brief encounter that had yanked him from death while you had cried out “Not today!”
“Wait, you mean like, time-traveler-not-from-around-here?” Dustin had squinted as he reconsider the D&D term from the Monster Manual, one of the beings he had argued was a total fluke. He didn’t like the idea of a being that shifted through time. There were flaws. No time travel arc tracked perfectly.
Adjusting your shirt you took a breath, feeling some stings from where a slashing tail had broken skin, “Yeah,” you answered, no elaboration.
Before much else could take place, unfortunately, you knew what happened next. As the world shifted and cracked, as the chaos became too much, and as the four chimes rang out, you felt it. Both Dustin and Eddie scrambled to make a new sheet to ferry them back to the other side, Dustin screaming at Eddie for cutting it to begin with.
It wasn’t worth the hurry, though. You knew the that. Max was in her coma; she had died. Not long enough to kill her but One had taken her life just long enough to open the rift. The cracks would destroy a large amount of Hawkins, and the reports the next few days would call it a “torrential earthquake” as the news would try to make it make sense to the rest of the world. To Hawkins itself. To the hordes that could see monsters and call them men. It had to make sense, didn’t it? And so you were in no hurry. Nancy, Steve, and Robin would come running back. They would toss Dustin first through the opening in reality, his broken leg rendering him fairly useless. No one said much about you, even as you dropped back into Hawkins proper with them.
But standing in the true reality, the one you knew, you understood what came next. The death that would follow, the trials of Eleven. You had looked at Eddie, in a sort of different, hazy world as the group began to reconvene, discovering what had happened to Max. They began to ask about you, as you stood, your shirt covered in blood that wasn’t all yours, pants stained and torn. They stared at you and it was Steve who began to question where you’d come from, truly. His words sounded muted though, the chaos surrounding all of you suddenly too much.

You had lost your father. Your mother had died long ago, but the sting of your paternal figure, the one who had kept you safe, was etching into your core. Again you could see those soft brown eyes begging you to go. You saw the light fade out and the reminder of what One had done. You had sworn when you came over, a child born in blood and trained to kill, that One would die by your hands. He had taken everything from your world in his vile attempt at retribution, to destroy what Eleven had built and to make a world in his vision.
Feeling a hand on your shoulder, shaking you as you heard the words clouded and muffled, you understood they were demanding information. For you to listen. Could you hear them?
Maybe it was a side effect of the travel. Perhaps a displacement of energy, Will would have said. Maybe you had lost yourself traveling through time to a world that hadn’t yet birthed your presence. You were still a theory, scribbled on paper in a lab in Russia, born of a different kind of battle between two super powers. Maybe it was just because you’d been fighting so long. Maybe it was because you had already changed the timeline in saving Eddie Munson.
You began to fall, though. To tumble. To slowly descend into darkness. Not to the Upside Down, but as you crumpled to a heap on the floor of Eddie’s trailer, you were a new sort of problem.

uncertainty | 𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
summary you are Dustin’s older sister, and you have developed a very confussing attraction to your brother and friend's fiend, Eddie. (3.4k),
warnings fem!reader, fluff, hurt/comfort, mutual pining, yearning etc, slowburn friends to lovers, idiots in love!!!, english is not my first language so I apologise if there’s some mistakes, not proof read!
this is based on this lovely ask <3 thank you for the request!
“I’m leaving in five!” You screamed up at the staircase, as you heard the hurried steps of your little brother rushing around.
“I’ll need seven!” He shouts back, voice high in pitch.
“Now you have four, hurry up!” You plead from downstairs, with a short laugh that escaped your lips as you could picture your little brother going absolutely insane, having overslept once again.
“Shit, shit. Okay!”
“Language!” You yelled as you went over the little drawer that held your car and house keys, turning around to pick up your favourite washed up brown leather jacket. Even if your mom kept babbling away about how it wasn’t really that warm, you debated the opposite, having worn it for the last 6 months. Either way it doesn’t really matter what she thinks, she’s not here to tell you anything.
As you opened the front door you squint your eyes at the bright January sun, it was cold, but once you stood up and the light hitted you, it felt as if you were begging to warm up, waking up with the earth, in a weird poetic way.
“Thought you were in a hurry.” Dustin teased at you as he looked up at you.
“I am, come on.” You told him as you teased him back, pushing him a bit so he actually hurries up. “You know, if you actually went to bed when you should” You start saying as you start the car.
“Oh come on!” He replayed in annoyance. “I did go to bed, you know?”
“Yeah, at four in the morning!” You yelled back at him, feeling how truely tired you were. “And you know I end up incredibly tired when I have to go to The Hideout and help out Dust…” You try to make him understand.
“You didn’t sleep?” He asks back, worry on his voice.
“I did, just…” You looked back at his little brown eyes, true compassion for you, you knew he felt bad now. “Don’t worry about it, okay? It’s just, if you’re talking to Suzie keep your voice low okay big guy?” Your voice calms now, feeling bad for having yelled at him.
“Yeah, okay. Sorry.” He replayed softly as he looked down at his feet.
The car ride stayed silent.
As you parked the car and got out to help him as you always had, grabbing his backpack for him, and giving him a side hug you smiled at him.
“Sorry for yelling.” He nodded and started to look out for his friends. “Pick up at five?”
“Yeah.” He said as he started to leave. You nodded at him as he left.
You were tired, but you didn’t actually regret helping out at The Hideout, if anything, John was doing you a favour. It was proving to be rather tricky to find another job, since you decided you would rather be full time anywhere else than half time in Family Video, though you missed hanging out with Steve so much, you kept hope.
And anyways, yesterday ended up being a good night.
A very good night.
Might be the fact that he tips had run high, or that John asked you to come again today, or maybe, and if we’re being sincere, it was because Eddie had come over. Granted, it hadn’t been only him, but it didn’t matter, not if you could only see him.
And maybe it was because your friends had waited for you to finish your shift, and had made it bearable, but again, if you were being honest with yourself, you knew it had been his soft I always like seeing you that had made the night better.
-
“You shouldn’t trust it.” Robin mocked you once again.
“She’s got a point.” Steve continued.
“Oh fuck off you two.” You added, still smiling at them as you did.
“I’m just saying… I mean, you have a massive, incredible, planet sized crush on the dude, so you should know, like make it so important.” She tried to rationalize with you as her hands flew through the hair as she was talking, which only made Steve laugh even more.
“Like you have on Vickie?” You tried to tease her back.
“Hey! Not fair, we’re not talking about me, we’re talking about you.” She sentenced, as she threw the old kitchen rag at you as you all laughed again.
“Oh come on, pick on Steve and his crush on Nancy!” You plead as she turned again looking back at him.
“That was uncalled for.” He said under his breath.
“Just stating the obvious.” You pointed as you turned around to your oven.
As the rambling and teasing continued you checked the time once again. You weren’t that late, and still, you always felt anxious you would be.
Saturday dinners were the only thing that had remained constant through the years, regardless of what was going on, you always found time to see each other, either for a quick sandwich or a full course dinner.
So it felt nice to see them in your house, teasing you, as they cooked the pizzas from scratch you couldn’t help but smile at the picture of them, remembering how hellish last year had been.
Your thoughts got interrupted by the doorbell.
“Is it Dustin?” Robin asked as her head moved to look at you.
“No, Dust is staying at the Wheelers.” You replayed with uncertainty in your voice. “Were you expecting someone?” You ask, looking at Steve, and you see how the corners of his lips start to curl upwards.
“I might have invited Munson over…” A smirk appears on his face, and on yours embarrassed rosy cheeks appear.
-
The warm vapor of the tiny dishwasher hits your face, making it hard to breathe for just a second before you step back and let your hands wash the steam off your face. You take a deep breath, it’s only one more hour until close time, and then you would be free to go back home, back to your bed, and if you're honest, back to overthinking. Thankfully, The Hideout was emptying, and as usual, everyone that left said goodbye to you, and you tried to remain cheerful and respond to every one by name.
“Henderson, we might go too.” Steve yells over the music. As you nod to him you head on to his direction, so you can actually hug him goodbye.
“We would stay but… It’s getting pretty late, we’re sorry.” Robin adds as she hugs you too.
“I get it, it’s alright don’t worry.” You replay as you look at both of them, smiling gratefully that they have stayed this long.
“Actually, I think I’ll stay.” His voice fills you up, low and deep, raspy making your skin tingle. “If you don’t mind.”
“ ‘Course not.” You add, trying to not sound as nervous as you feel looking at him, his brown eyes locked onto you.
“O-key then.” Steve adds with a hidden laugh. “See you tomorrow?” You nod as they leave.
You can’t help but smile as you head back into the bar, feeling his stare onto you, and not only that, but his shy smile too.
Without even asking, you serve him another beer and he takes it, taking a sip while his eyes shine at you. A quick glance at the clock lets you know that it is now acceptable for you to start cleaning up, letting the couple tables that are still finishing their drinks know that you want to leave, and they seem to get the message once they get up a few moments later. They pay you what they owe you and leave slowly.
You take your time to actually close the register, and once you look up, you see the long haired boy returning with the tray of empty glasses and bottles.
“You didn’t have to do that.” You say in a soft whisper, feeling how your cheeks warm up as you do so.
“I know, but you look exhausted, so…” He tilts his head as he looks down at you. “You go sit, and I’ll clean up a bit, okay?” He continues as he starts to clean the glasses and throws away the empty beer bottles. You smile as you circle back to where he was, and he smirks as he watches you do so.
You let your body rest, for the second that it does so, you feel the tiredness catching up to you.
It feels weird, not in a bad sense to have someone taking care of you in that way. Not by anyone, but him. Focused into doing what he has seen you do a thousand times, he even pours you a beer so you can actually relax, but to be honest with yourself, it’s not the alcohol that makes you feel fazed, but him looking at you from time to time as he gives you small smirks and giggles every time your eyes meet. You feel your whole body warming up as he does so, feeling absolutely enamored by the littlest things he does, even the way he pushes his hair away from his face makes you melt a little bit. And still, it just confuses you more and more.
Conflicted might be a good definition.
You are aware that you’ve fallen for him, not ashamed of it, you don’t really care if he knows, but you are scared to find out if he feels the same way about you. You can’t help but let your mind wonder, does he? Does he get as fidgety as you do when you walk into a room? Does he daydream about you in the same way that you’ve caught yourself doing so many times? Does he wish that someday your body is pressed against his as desperately as he does every time your hands meet for just a moment? Does he wonder how your lips taste?
“You okay, love?” He asks. Once you look up to him you feel your thoughts stop all of a sudden, mesmerized by the way his eyes shine at you. It lingers in your brain. lovelovelove. How can someone look so angelic while saying such a silly word, you are not sure.
“Yeah, I..-” You can’t find any words to continue, his hand had found its way to a wisp of hair that had fallen out of place, and even if his touch wasn’t cold, his silver rings froze at the contact with your cheek as he placed it behind your ear, were it originally was.
It truly felt like time had frozen, no words invaded that space. For only a second, it felt like your body was weightless, it felt like if you’d cease to exist, you’d be okay doing so with this being your last memory. His eyes shining only for you, locked intensely with yours, it truly doesn't matter what would happen next if you could just remain frozen in this moment.
But alas, that was just a wish, and time continued to pass. His touch left your skin burning, and both of your faces looked at the ground, trying to understand what that little buzzing you felt was.
As the night advanced, the little bar was clean, and you were ready to leave, though sad might not be the best way to describe what you felt, it surely came close, feeling so calm next to him, you dreaded being separated again, still not knowing if everything you felt was unilateral.
You closed the lights, he turned the music off, and even in shadow, his body was as defined as ever, you’d know who it was in any circumstance you noted. What you didn’t seem to see, was how his eyes could not strip away from you, or how his hands longed to touch the skin on your waist for once.
So, as you closed the back door, and flipped back to look at him, he laid it there, with the excuse of making sure you wouldn’t fall given that the floor had begun to freeze over the night. And maybe because you were so focused on the way your heart was beating fast, hard and loud, you didn’t feel that he did the same.
“Shit.” You murmured as you looked back to the parking lot.
“What?” He responded, his hand still resting on your back.
“Steve drove me here! I forgot… I… Shit I guess I’ll just walk-”
“Fuck off, I’m driving you come on.” He added as he cut you and your rumbling.
“Edds, I live the opposite way of you…” You whisper once again, making him turn around to look at you, his breath falling onto you, watching it as the cold exposes it.
“And I don’t care. It’s cold and you get sick easily, you're exhausted and I like being with you, so…” He begins to walk to his van, his hand finally leaving your back, only to open the car door for you.
-
ilikebeingwithyou
it stays with you, even if it is on the back of your mind, it stays there.
Even when you had to wait for the van to get warm enough so the engine could start, even when the music was loud and all you did was giggle as he screamed loudly the lyrics of whatever was playing in the background.
It didn’t matter now, the van was parked and the music had stopped, and his body had turned slowly so he could look at you once again.
And again, that weird feeling invaded the air, an electricity that seemed to pull you to him stronger and stronger.
A flashing thought, an image of what could be, if you actually had the nerve to let your hand get lost on the back of his neck to pull him closer to you so that maybe your lips could touch his cheek in a thank you gesture, even if you don’t.
But he does something that seems to be just as stupid. His hand finds rest on your upper thigh.
And your eyes look at his rings in an attempt to distract yourself.
“Thank you…” Your voice comes out soft, and slow as your eyes travel up to him. Slowly.
“You… yeah. You’re welcome.” He’s becoming flustered now, his words tangling as he readies for you to leave, but you can’t seem to go yet.
“What?” You asked as you smiled at him, a tired comfortable smile.
“Nothing. I just like being with you. You make it all better I guess.”
Your wordless. As your cheeks get warm and your lips curl upwards, your face looks through the windshield astonished at his words.
“Do you wanna…?”
He nods as he opens his door, rushing to yours.
-
3 am
Time had seemed to pass quickly as you too shared the downstairs couch, at times in comfortable silence, most of the time in unimportant conversations, much preoccupied by what your heart and body was feeling. The warmth his body emanate, now wearing only a black distressed old T-shirt, that let his arm tattoos show, not only that but his muscles seem to flex from time to time, and if you hadn’t been so distracted by his charming simple while he teased you you’d realized that they did so every time your body moved closer to him, in a nervous reflex.
Deep down you know, even if you’re not aware of it just yet, that this might be as intimate as you’ve ever been with anyone. Sex and physical intimacy had nothing against this, seeing him giggle as you talk deep into the night, whipping tears of laughter away from his eyes, as his hand rested once again on your thigh.
Might be the late hour of the night, the dizziness from the lack of sleep or the tipsy thoughts that the beers that you had downed, but you meet his touch, lazily stroking his fingers with your hand, playing with his cold rings. When you are not looking, he lets himself be truly mesmerized by you.
“You seem like you want to say something.” He says, voice low and soft, because let’s face it, it would be ridiculous to speak aloud when it’s only the two of you in your empty house. You feel as his face softens when your eyes look back at him.
“I do.”
“Then say what you need…” He encourages, slowly.
“I’m embarrassed, actually.” You confess in a soft smile, letting your head rest on the back of the couch. His body scooches closer.
“Oh, come on… Please, love?” lovelovelove. He knows what this stupid pet name makes you feel, you’re sure of it.
“You confuse me. A lot.” You finally say to him, your eyes darting around his face, as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, his unoccupied hand goes to his head, as his arm rests on the same back of the couch.
“I confuse you?” He repeats in disbelief, almost sounds as he is teasing you.
“Yeah, you do.” You admit, your fingers playing anxiously now as your sight avoids him and is instead focused on his rings.
“Well, then… Ask.” He says confident, approaching you even more. Your body in his direction, knees touching, the grip that he has on your thigh grows deeper.
“What?”
“Whatever you wanna know.”
You take a deep breath, as your hands whip your face, preparing you for the embarrassment that you most certainly will feel after you finally open up to him.
“Do… Um…Do you like me?”
“Wha- What?” He sounds shocked, and your face becomes red.
“Forget it, please…” You say, a pleading look on your face as you look back at him. His face, while it is still soft, is focused on you, his eyes that are usually brown appear black as his iris has invaded the whole space, though that happens every time he looks at you, you hadn’t realized until now.
“No, please… I… What do you mean?”
“Shit, okay.” You breathe in, deeply, deciding for one to be brave for once, and to accept rejection if it comes to that. “I like you Eddie. I really do. Not because you are good-looking and all that physical nonsense, but because you make life brighter… I… Fuck… I’m sorry I just… I really like you and I just don’t know if this feeling goes both ways.” You admit, all in one breath, darting between his eyes, his lips parted halfway and your hands that are now under his grip, a warm touch, a spark or maybe a tingle on them.
“You do?” He asks.
“Fuck, yes Eddie…” You admit, embarrassed and frustrated. “If you’re gonna make fun of me just… forget it okay?”
“Love.” He stops you from continuing rambling. “Why do you think I call you that?” You look back at him, shocked now. “I am in love with you. I don’t just like you. I love everything you do. The way you care so deeply about everyone, and how you would give everything you have to give to someone else just so they’re okay. I love how you look when you’re exhausted, ‘cause you get that cute smile trying to make it not obvious. I love when you get flustered, and I love when you let me take care of you ‘cause that’s all I wanna do… I…” You’re both smiling so bright it feels like you’ve just discovered what colour means. “Can I just… Can I just kiss you?” He says as his hand finally leaves his head, to approach your face.
“Please.” You say in return. Begging to finally feel his lips onto yours.
His fingers tuck away your hair behind your ear, letting them rest on the back of your neck. The other one remains on your leg, his hand deepens the grip that it had on it, a soft moan only from that is already escaping your mouth. He comes closer as you both close your eyes, seeing him smile before you do so. And as soon as his lips finally meet, your fingers intertwined with his, as the kiss deepens and it all feels exactly as you wished it did, soft, deep, careful at first, needy in the end. It feels like you’re both air at the other was drowning. It is sweet, and it doesn’t stop.  And it won’t stop for as long as you’re together, you finally feel as though you got your answer. He doesn’t like you, he loves you, and you can’t wait to love him back.

I have a request
you and eddie have been dating for a few years. You tell him how you're ready to take the next step with him (having a bby) . But he tells you he doesn't see himself as a parent , that upsets you and gets into a big argument . You guys brake up. You move away. You come back to Hawkins years later and run into eddie at the store, but he's not alone. He's with a girl and a baby .

Angst
He never imagined himself being a father, it scared him to bits. He didn’t want to be a father knowing what he’s been through with his own dad.
He didn’t want to be a big disappointment to his own child. It was tough when you spoke about how one day you dreamed to be a mother.
You couldn’t wait to have little once of your own. Every time it reached Eddie’s ears, he would grimace and look away not wanting you to see the look on his face.
His heart sank about knowing he wouldn’t able to give you your wish. He brushed it off every time you brought it up to him.
You hadn’t taken much notice of how it was affecting him and let alone watching the expression on his face turn into sour. His shoulders would stiff up and he’d close his eyes, but he’d nod along letting you know he’s listening to you.
You’d talk about how cute the clothes would be on your little one. You listed the names to Eddie that you had hoped he liked.
You had told him cute the chubby cheeks on a baby looked like and how good they would smell.
Eddie nodded along thinking if he kept brushing you away like this then you’d forget all about it and focus on the relationship with him.
You met Eddie in one of your classes peeking interest after seeing him in the cafeteria, standing on the table causing a ruckus and causing the attention of Jason Carver, whom you absolutely hated with all your heart.
His dramatics made you giggle that caught his attention. He bowed after his speech and locked eyes with sending you a wink. It was only one look that all it took to hook you to him.
He’d carry your books to class.
He’d compliment how good you smell. He’d invite you for a driver and share his weed with you.
He’d offer you his jacket when your cold and shifting closer that you knee’s touched his. You’d come over for movies nights, meeting Wayne at one point on his way to work.
But it all seems to change when your relationship was becoming stiff with Eddie whenever you mentioned of becoming a mother. It was when you first noticed the stiff expression on his face when the two of you went grocery shopping together to make dinner later tonight.
A little girl looks to be lost holding a doll in her arms, shouting for her mother and her lower lip is quivering with her eyes holding back tears as she looks around.
Eddie had taken something down from one of the shelves when he noticed you weren’t even paying attention to what item he was taking. You were too busy staring the little girl feeling your heart break.
“ I’ll be right back” you tell Eddie not even casting him a look not seeing his face drop and the roll of the eyes with a sigh.
You made your way to the little girl as she stood in the middle looking around, “ Mommy!” She shouted.
“ Are you lost?” She hears the sound of your voice and turns around to face you. With a small nod, little quiver of her bottom lip jutting out, she sniffles.
“ I am” she says. She backs away looking up at you knowing her mother told her not to talk to strangers.
“ My name is Y/N, what is yours?” You ask, voice sounding as kind as ever. Her eyes widen at your name, “ My name is Rose, but my friends and my mommy call me Petal.”
“ Would you like some help looking for your mommy?” She hugs her doll to her chest tights and look unsure for a moment. “ My mommy said not to talk to strangers” she says.
“ We’re not strangers anymore, Rose. You know my name” she nods still looking skeptical.
You point towards where Eddie stood looking uncomfortable as he waits for you.
“ You see that guy over there?” She nods when she looks over to him.
“ That’s my boyfriend, his name is Eddie. He can help too if you like” she eyes him up and down. “ He has long hair, he’s funny” she says, giggling.
You chuckle, “ His hair is really pretty just like yours” you take notice of her hair in little pig tails. “ It’s a little curly just like his.”
“ His is messy” she scrunches up her nose with another giggle escaping hers.
You giggle with her and this causes Eddie to grip the shopping cart in his hands tighter and he turns to walk away leaving you with the little girl.
Your eyebrows pinch together in confusion on why he was walking away.
“ He’s leaving” Rose says to you holding her doll by her hand now. You nod.
“ Maybe he needs the bathroom” you shrug but know something is off. “ Lets look for your mommy.”
As Rose and you set to find her mother, Eddie doesn’t even glance back at you to see if you have even noticed he walked away and instead he stood at the cashier line wanting to go home.
It wasn’t until you made your way over to him after finding Rose’s mother who was looking for her, that you noticed Eddie looking like he was upset about something.
“ Hey, are you okay?” You asked, putting your hand on his arm. Eddie pulled it away from your hold mumbling he was fine.
His hair shielding the side of his face, and you couldn’t see the sour look on his face.
He was dreading going to the store with you anyways. He knew the kind of thing was going to happen.
“Eddie” you called out to him wanting him to look at you and talk to you. But it was no use as he moved up the cashier line setting down the items you two needed for dinner later that night.
The ride back to the trailer was silent as Eddie drove.
He pressed on the gas a little too much sending you up a bit that you almost came nose to nose with the dashboard.
“ Eddie!” You shouted, a little scared. “ I could of gotten hurt” you adjusted your seat belt throwing him a glare his way.
But it didn’t faze him as he kept jerking the car with gritted teeth. You had no idea what has gotten into him today. This wasn’t like him at all.
“ I don’t know what’s wrong with you today but you need to get your head out of your ass” you tell him when you arrived at the trailer, getting some bags of food that you bought with him not even seeing the death glare he sent your way.
If looks could kill, it would be it the look that Eddie had sent you.
He wasn’t about to get into a fight with you. He hated yelling. But he felt his blood boiling and breathed deeply through his nose as he gotten out of the van making sure to slam the door.
It caused you to drop one of the bags onto the ground which you mutter some curse words at reaching over to pick it up too only have Eddie beat you to it.
“ What is wrong with you?” You continue to ask him, but he was already walking away from you with the bag in his hand and two others in his other hand. He wasn’t about to say something he would regret and then end up losing you.
You slammed the door of the trailer with your foot letting Eddie know that you were upset with him and he wasn’t about act like a child around you with his own anger.
If he was going to act like this then you could too. Two can play that game if he wants to play.
Eddie shrugged off his jacket off throwing it on the couch after he set the bags on the table.
There is tension in the roof that could be cut with a knife if anyone tried.
The rustling of bags is all Eddie as heard and then clutter of pans as you got ready to make dinner without his help. He sat on his couch flipping through his D&D manual to get his anger off that you were sure you could feel it.
The same words and images were scanned over by Eddies’s eyes not twice, not three times but a total of four times and in the corner of his eyes he sees your happily cooking and even tasting the dinner yourself to make sure it was good.
You didn’t give him a taste test like you usually would and he threw the manual on the couch and stood up making his way into the bedroom.
When dinner was ready, you didn’t even call him to let him know that you made a plate for him and set it down. You didn’t wait for his footsteps across the room to cross from his bedroom to the kitchen.
You left extra for Wayne when he would come home to have some home cooked meal to have. It’s been a long time since he had one and you always look after him like he was your own family.
You blew on a spoonful of food when you heard the sound of your boyfriend footsteps making their way down the hall into the kitchen. Eddie stood there with his arms across his chest as he glared seeing you hadn’t called him for dinner.
“ Thank you for calling me that dinner was made” he says sliding into the seat across from you with his own bowl. You were half way done when he sat down not glancing up at him.
He was being rude to you and an asshole so why should you give him attention.
He sighed looking out the window seeing you weren’t going to say something to him.
“ I’m sorry” he says. Your eyes turned to glance over to him, waiting for him to continue and listen to what he had to say. “ I didn’t mean to be an asshole in the store or when we came home” He adds.
“ What made you so upset?” The look on your face when he turned his head, made his heart racing knowing he has to lie to you instead of telling you the truth.
He doesn’t want to hurt your feelings at all, he loves you very much and the thought of breaking your own heart, he couldn’t bare it.
“ Because you didn’t get me my favorite crackers” he frown making it look believable with his brown doe eyes holding sadness.
This was a total lie because he stopped eating them a few months ago.
“ Oh” you mumbled with your eyebrow raised. “ I’m sorry Eds, I didn’t know you liked them anymore. We can go back tomorrow and get them. I’m sorry for not thinking of you”
Eddie wanted to rip his own hair out that he was lying to you and to your face for that matter.
He sees the sincere look on you face that you are really sorry.
“ It’s okay, sweetheart” he shrugs. “ Crackers or not, at least I have you” his foot underneath the table began to play with yours as you giggled.
“ You’re such a softie” you mumbled reaching over the table for his hand which he took and brought it to his lips.
“ Eds! You’ll get hair in your food” your other hand reached out to move his plate but he ignored it as he kissed each finger tip.
Your heart melted.
If only you knew he was lying to your face, then you’d probably rip his own hair out for him.
The next time you saw the sour look on his face when little kids were around was at Family. Video where a family came in looking for something for their two kids to watch.
Eddie rose his hands up that his hands wouldn’t touch into the bumping children that brushed past him a couple of minutes ago.
Steve and Robin looked at one another too, throwing you a look like did you see what we saw.
You defiantly did see what you saw. Eddie had a deep frown on his face when a little boy approached him.
“ Mister” the little boy tugged on the bottom part of his vest. Eddie glanced down after holding a copy of Nightmare on Elm Street in one hand and the other he had the Breakfast Club in the other one.
His eyebrow pinched together and his nose scrunched up in annoyance at what the boy had wanted. He had no time for little kids right now.
“ Do you think this is scary?” The little boy held out to him a movie title that Eddie didn’t really know about and his head shot up glancing around asking for help from either you, Steve or Robin. But all three were occupied with something.
“ Sorry kid, go find your mom and dad. I need to go check these out” The little boys lip stuck out with a pleading look on his face.
“ Please, Mister. I could use your help” Eddie stepped back as he chuckled with annoyance added to it. “ Look kid, I don’t work here” he says. “ Buzz off” he adds which you happen to hear as you make your way over to him.
“ Eddie, be nice to the little one. Hi there” you greet the little boy as he waves at you with a toothless smile. He was adorable.
“ What did you need?”
The little boy looked over to Eddie and waved the movie around, “ What mister thought of this.” He says.
Eddie gritted his teeth and wanted to pinch the bridge of his nose. He wanted to rush out of the store and yell out how annoyed he was. But held his tongue in as he glared down at the kid.
“ Listen here kid, I don’t work here. He does. She does” he points towards where Steve and Robin stood watching the interaction between Eddie and the little boy.
“He wants your opinion Eds. It’s adorable” you gushed putting your hands to your heart.
Eddie rolls his eyes, and sighs.
“ It’s alright kid, not my choice of movie” he answers him.
“ Thank you, Mister!” The little boy says as he run off towards his family who were waiting for him by the door with opened arms.
“ That was really cute” you mumble out, “ one day you’d make a good dad” the words slip out your mouth and reach Eddie’s ears. He throws you a glare on why you said what you said just now seeing you heard the annoyance in his voice.
“ Let’s go” he says dropping the movies back on the shelves as his mood was ruined and there was no way he was watching them later on. You were confused on what just happened.
“ Why aren’t we taking anything out? I thought we were going to have a movie night?” You followed him to the door.
You looked towards Steve and Robin asking what just happened. Both of them look as lost as you are watching you two walk out the door.
“ Eddie” you called out to him trying to get his attention when all he’s doing is walking away from you and not giving you any reason why he’s acting the way he’s acting.
You feel like you didn’t do anything wrong.
His hand was on the handle of the door of the van when his eyes snapped towards you. His brown eyes are no longer that color, they are darker and his look is colder. It’s not friendly.
“ Eddie?” The soft tone causes his face to soften and he closes his eyes, sighing. He wasn’t sure how much longer this was going to take.
He’s struggling with this and he knows it’s not going to lead to anywhere anymore. No matter how much time he has to lie to you and to your face for that matter. It’s too hurtful and he needs to stop.
“ Get in the van and we’ll talk”
Now if someone says “ we’ll talk” or anything related to that, it doesn’t sound too good.
You felt it in your gut that this was leading somewhere that you knew it wasn’t good.
You swallowed the lump in your throat and got into the passenger side while he got into the driver side, closing the door.
He hasn’t started to the car but sits there quietly trying to form words in his brain that seem to make sense to let you know how he feels.
“ Please talk to me, Eddie. I’m right here and whatever is bothering you, we can get through it” your hand reached out from his lap to take into yours but he pulls it away before you can lace your fingers with his.
He doesn’t want to hurt you. But it’s that time that you need to know the truth even if it’s going to hurt you.
“ That’s the thing, we can’t get through this. Not this” he says, turning his head that you can see his face.
His eyes hold sadness in them, sadness he doesn’t want.
“ What are you talking about?” Your eyebrows pinch together in confusion, feeling your heart race at the thought he was thinking about.
“ I know you really want to be a mother one day” you nod letting him know to continue to wherever this was going. “ Eddie, what are you trying to say?” He sighs in annoyance, and pinches the bridge of his nose.
“ I am getting to that, wait for me to finish! Jeez” he yells making you jump in your seat and eyes going wide. Not once has he yelled at you and now he was yelling at you, and it wasn’t a pretty sight.
“ G-Go o-on” you nodded, placing your hands in your lap and playing with the ring on your finger.
“ I don’t want the same thing” your mouth turns into a frown and you tilt your head process the words he said.
“ You don’t want to have kids?” He shook his head. “ Why not? Don’t you want a little mini you to teach guitar one day? To teach them D&D? To play with them and come home to a family?”
“ No” he said it so fast that your heart broke into two.
“ Have you always thought this way?”
“ Yes” he says.
“ But what about us then? You know I want to have kids one day and get married”
“ I can’t take it anymore, I don’t like kids. Every time we encounter one you seem to push me into that direction to notice how much you want them. When you don’t even notice the look on my face! You’re always pushing me towards it and I don’t want it!” He shouts. “ There is always a kid whenever we go there and you always have to butt into it and talk to them and then push me into it!” He throws his hands.
“ Eddie..I..” his eyes harden as he breathes through his nose.
“ I-I’m sorry, I didn’t know you felt that way” he nods with a chuckle.
“ You don’t talk to me about it anymore, it’s like our relationship isn’t there as it used be. You don’t count in what I want and what I want right now isn’t you”
You gasped, tears forming in your eyes as you shake your head.
“ You don’t mean that, Eddie”
He throws you a thin line smile, with his eyes soften as he reaches his hand to take yours in his. The other places it on top as he looks into your eyes as he says the next words that break both your hearts.
“ I want to break up” tears are running down your cheeks.
“ Please Eddie” you begged with pleading out, reaching over to grab a fistful of his vest and bringing him closer.
But he held onto your wrist letting you grab him for the last time as he stared watching you with his own eyes glossing over.
“ I love you, sweetheart. I do. I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving you but this is for the best. I can’t give you what you want and one day you’ll be a great mother to someone else’s kid”
“ I don’t want to be a mother to someone else’s kid. I want to be the mother of your child. Please…”
He shakes his head.
“ I’ll drive you home, buckle up” he says kissing your knuckles on last time as he moves away but helps you buckle yourself in the seat.
Your hands reach out to cup his face with both hands, pressing your lips against his.
He can taste the saltiness from your tears as his own mixes in.
He kisses you back before he pulls away to sit in the driver seat, he doesn’t wipe away his own tears and lets them be shown that he’s hurting as much as you that this is happening.
On the way to your house, he hold your hands in his tight for the last time and he takes longer routes too to make the moment last a little longer between the two of you.
“ Eddie I love you” you tell him when he parks the van in front of your house.
“ I know, sweetheart. I love you too” he says. Your eyes meet his for the last time but you can’t seem to get out of his van wanting to stay with him here.
“ Please..” You beg him.
“ I can’t, pretty girl. This is for the best” he helps you unbuckle your seat belt and watches as your hand reaches over the handle so slowly thinking he would change his mind, crying his heart out for you to come back to him.
But he doesn’t as he faces the front of the van looking over the street and hears the sound of the van shut knowing you were leaving.
He closes his eyes feeling fresh tears running down his cheeks and grips the steering wheel letting his head drop as his shoulder shake.
You slowly make your way to the front door thinking he was going to chase after you but he doesn’t.
He still sitting in his van and when you reach for the front door, unlocking it seeing if he would come. He doesn’t. He’s still sitting in the van crying his eyes out.
He doesn’t chase after you like he hoped and when you close the front door of your house, you closed the chapter in your life that you thought would continue with Eddie.
Your story with Eddie is over and since that day, you had hoped he’d come back for you.
Years go by and you and Eddie remain having little as contact only hearing about it from Steve or Robin on that he was doing good. But the both of them held out something important.
They have been hiding the fact that Eddie was moving on after months and months after the break up.
He met someone and was happy with it. Yet, you didn’t find anyone hoping that Eddie walks through the doors with open arms that he wants you back and he’s ready to have a family with you.
But it doesn’t happen as time passes.
Your more shocked when you finally see him after years after the break up between the two of you.
His hair is a bit longer, his arms are filled with tattoos, he has a beard but those eyes of his eyes are the same. He’s been here all along and maybe he was waiting for you to say something.
When you opened your mouth to say something out to him and Steve halts in his steps realizing what you were about to see. Robin puts a hand over Steve’s chest telling him it’s best if you found out on your own.
Your ears pick up on a giggle that you didn’t know where it came from until the little boy raced towards Eddie as he picked him up in his arms. Your mouth drops open and eyes blinking not thinking this is really what you were seeing.
Eddie was a dad to a little boy or was he?
“ Daddy!” The little boy shouts hugging him around his neck while Eddie laughs, hugging the boy back. “ My little man” Eddie says.
“ He wouldn’t stop talking about you all morning” a female voice catches your attention as she comes over to them. Eddie leans over to place a kiss on her lips, shocking you even more.
Tears began to form in your eyes realizing that he had moved on and had a family.
He lied to you saying he didn’t want to be dad when here he was, being a dad to someone else’s child.
Your heart cracked into two as your gripped tightened on the movie you were about to take out.
You wiped away tears heading past them and making your way to Steve who grabs the film once you placed it on the counter. He sends you an apologetic look.
“ $3.45” Steve says. Eddie turns his head for the first time seeing the back of your head and his eyebrows pinch together and his nose hits a familiar scent.
His eyes grow wide once he notices that it’s you in front of him.
He swallow the lump in his throat as he holds his son in his arms.
You slide the money to Steve not saying a word to him. You hear a clearing of a throat feeling your jaws clench tight knowing it was him trying to get your attention. You didn’t want it.
He lied to you and broke your heart in one.
“ What’s up?” Robin asks him instead thinking he was talking to her when his eyes were on you.
“ You know her, Daddy?” The little boy asks him.
“ I do” the sound of his voice still sends chills down your spine like it used to.
But you take the film in your hands and turn around telling the boy you don’t know his dad and hits Eddie in the heart when you do. Your eyes lock with his and he understands there is anger in them, and hurt.
It’s all his fault and he knows it.
When you walk out of the store, Eddie puts down his son and follows you out the door trying to catch up to you.
“ Hey” he catches your arm in his, turning you around to face him in hopes you’d talk to him.
“ What?” You hissed. He steps back putting his hands up.
“ I just wanted to say I’m sorry for what you had to see” he says pointing behind him talking about his wife and his son in there.
“ It’s nothing” you shrugged. “ Didn’t think you were such a lier, Edward” he winces when you use his full name.
“ Look things change you know, and people change too”
“ He’s cute” you tell him. “ Happy for you, Munson. Way to go”
He hums as he locks eyes with you.
“ You know I never stopped loving you”
“ Such bullshit, I don’t believe anything you tell me anymore. Thank you for lying to me and making me feel like a fool all those years ago”
“ I didn’t lie to you” he says.
“ It’s okay Eddie, I’ll be happy to move on now knowing what kind of man I thought I used to love. I needed this” you pat his chest.
“ Hope she makes you happier than I ever did” he catches your hand in his.
“ No one is like you, she doesn’t make me happy”
“ Not my problem, Munson. Have a nice life” you brush past him walking away, leaving him to feeling guilty that all those years ago he would of changed the way things went down between the two of you with time.
Now he’s going to live with the fact that your not in his life like he always wanted.

Eddie
Eddie sat on the edge of his chair, his right leg tapping in tune with his heart in his chest. The beep of the monitors and the hiss of the oxygen tank made him want to crawl out of his skin.
He couldn't look at Nat for longer than a second—just long enough to make sure her chest was still rising and falling. Bruising spread across her cheeks and brow. He kept his eyes focused on the wall, jaw clenched.
Tap, tap, tap, tap .
"They don't have a prognosis yet," Dustin's voice sounded far away and muffled, "But she seems stable for now."
He was letting the others know what happened–of course, he would want to make sure everyone was in the loop, which was something Eddie couldn't bring himself to do. He heard Dustin say, "Thankfully, Eddie got her to throw up a bunch of whatever she took."
Eddie snorted; yeah, right he was the reason she was alive. He ran his fingers through his brown frizzy hair and dug his fingers into his scalp in frustration.
Didn't they know he was also the reason she was almost dead?
"Yeah, I'll let you guys know. Talk soon." Dustin hung up the phone. He stood next to Eddie, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "She's gonna be okay, Eds."
"You don't know that," he muttered.
"Sure she is. She's not on a ventilator or anything," Dustin tried to sound hopeful.
Eddie glanced at the tubes and wires hooked onto Nat and shook his head. "They said they lost her twice in the ambulance, man. They don't know what she is going to be like when she wakes up. If she wakes up."
Dustin didn't say anything else, but his grip on Eddie's shoulder tightened. Maybe he should let the kid have some sort of hope, but after tonight–he wasn't sure he would have a happy thought again.
After a beat, Dustin released his grip on his friend. "I'm going to take a breather and send Chrissy up, okay?"
"Okay."
Chrissy…
Eddie wasn't sure why, but in the back of his mind, he was angry with her. Maybe because he was furious with himself for not being there for Nat, and that reason was because he had been so focused on Chrissy. He knew it wasn't fair, but if he didn't spread some of that anger onto someone else he thought he would crumble under the weight of it all.
"Eds?" Chrissy's voice came from behind him. He tried to jerk his head to show he heard her but wasn't sure his body actually followed through. He heard her light footsteps as she came into the room and sat next to him. "I have something to give you."
Eddie turned to see what it was; she had Nat's journal.
"Where did you find that?" he asked quietly. Though she was offering it to him, he couldn't bring himself to take it from her.
"When they got her out of the bathroom, it was laying where we found her. I grabbed it before we left."
Eddie gingerly took the book from her. He suddenly wondered if Chrissy had read it; even just the thought made him furious.
Chrissy seemed to know what he was thinking and held up her hands. "I didn't open it. There may not be any answers in there, but if there is, you should be the one to read it."
Eddie swallowed loudly, glancing down at the journal in his hands. It somehow felt very heavy.
"I'm going to head home," Chrissy said, "This is all… too much for me…"
Eddie turned back and continued to stare at the wall. He didn't blame her. Chrissy's life was all sunshine and fucking rainbows–and fooling around with the freak had been fun. But the realization that the real world was still out there quickly killed the buzz. This world, his world, wasn't really for her.
He gave a quick nod.
"I hope she will be okay." Chrissy said sincerely. When Eddie didn't respond, she left.
Tap, tap, tap…
Eddie flipped the journal around in his hands. If he was being honest, he was terrified to open it. He knew why Nat did this—that this was all his fault. He just didn't want to see it on paper.
"Chrissy left?" Dustin asked, snapping Eddie back to reality.
He wasn't sure how long he had sat there, tossing the journal between his hands. When Chrissy left, the sun was just beginning to rise. Now, it looked high in the sky.
"Yeah, it was too much for her," he said.
Dustin huffed and pulled a chair over to sit next to Eddie. He noticed the journal and asked, "What's that?"
"Chrissy found it in Nat's bathroom when they moved her. I… haven't been able to open it."
"You should read it, Eddie."
"Why? I already know it's my fault," Eddie snapped.
Dustin shook his head. "Man, it's all our fault. We didn't realize how far we let her pull away…"
Eddie considered this. How long had it been since she went to a DND session? Sat with them at lunch? Why didn't they try harder to make her see they still wanted her around?
Taking a deep breath, Eddie opened the journal. He flipped through the pages; he saw his name peppered here and there until he reached yesterday's date.
"The night Eddie told me he fucked Chrissy Cunningham felt like a punch to the gut. Like one of those punches where you are doubled over, gasping in air but somehow it never reaches your lungs."
Eddie closed his eyes and the journal. He was right—it was all his fault.
Natalie
Nat nervously bounced her leg on the edge of Eddie's bed. She was waiting for him to get home, though she knew he stopped at a party on the way back from school. She knew he had no interest in the party itself, but it was the chance of earning extra money that got his attention. While they may be too chicken to try the other stuff, the kids would surely clear Eddie out of his stock of weed.
The thrill of rolling a natural 20 during tonight's DND session and saving the campaign was still racing through her veins, making her feel brave. In fact, it made her brave enough to decide she was finally ready to tell Eddie she was in love with him.
Anxiety seeped in slowly as she planned what she was going to say to him. She hoped it wouldn't be a surprise, or that he was struggling to tell her the same thing. If he rejected her, she didn't know what she would do. For one, she would have to spend more time at home with her mom and Craig.
Nat shuddered.
Everyone knew about Creeper Craig. She had been mortified when her mom brought him home, saying he was her boyfriend. When she told him, Eddie gave her an open invitation to spend as much time as she wanted at his trailer.
After what seemed like forever, Nat finally heard the doorknob rattle. Her heart was in her throat, and she continued to bounce her leg on the edge of the mattress.
"Nat! Nat, I'm so glad you're here. I gotta tell you what happened tonight!" Eddie was excited, giddy; it radiated off of him. He bounded into his room and stood in front of her, his hands clasped together with eagerness.
"I gotta tell you something too!" Nat smiled.
"Me first, me first! Please, this is going to blow your mind."
What's one more minute? Nat said, "Fine, go ahead."
"Okay," Eddie took a big, dramatic breath. "I slept with Chrissy Cunningham."
Natale stopped bouncing. The adrenaline drained from her veins, and her ears rang with nothingness.
"What?"
Eddie blathered, "I'm at the party, right? And Chrissy and Douchebag Carver get into a huge fight. Huge! And I was just about to talk some freshman into the new Northern Lights I got, and it happened."
"You were talking to a freshman and found yourself fucking Chrissy Cunningham," she asked incredulously.
"No, no, no," Eddie shook his head. "I didn't see that behind me… they were playing some spin the bottle, seven minutes in heaven game from hell. And when it was Chrissy's turn, she literally stopped the bottle so it landed on me." He pointed at himself for dramatic effect. "Me."
"You?"
"Me. So Chrissy pulled me in the closet, and I expected to just be standing in there with her awkwardly. I figured she'd use this moment to hold over Jason. But the next thing I knew, her hand was in my pants."
Nat clenched her jaw. "Wow, crazy," she said half-heartedly.
Eddie held out his hands in front of him. "Look at me; I'm still shaking."
"You sound like you need to sit down before you pass out," her feeble attempt at a joke sounded dull and hollow.
"Good idea." Eddie sunk into the mattress next to Nat. After a beat, he asked, "So, what did you have to tell me?"
"What?"
"When I got home? You said you had something to tell me?"
"Oh, I actually forgot what it was." She laughed to sound convincing. "Must not have been important."
"You sure?" Eddie asked kindly, his hand covering hers.
"Yeah, I'm sure I'll remember eventually." She forced a smile.
Eddie didn't push anymore. He laid back on his side of the bed and lit a cigarette, a huge grin on his face.
Nat sat frozen on the edge of the bed for a few moments. She couldn't move; it was like she had forgotten how to, like her lungs didn't remember how to expand. She had been emotionally gut punched.
"You gonna lay down sometime tonight?"
Eddie
Eddie stared at the wall in front of him. The journal lay open in his hands, his finger tracing Nat's handwriting-it looked hurried.
"She was going to tell me she loved me," Eddie's voice was barely audible.
"When?" Dustin asked.
"The night I slept with Chrissy. I remember getting home; I was just so excited to tell someone. I think she said she wanted to tell me something. But I dropped the bomb and I don't really remember what happened after that…"
None of this made sense. Eddie decided a long time ago that Nat couldn't possibly have feelings for him. Nat was busting her ass to get out of Hawkins, whereas Eddie was in his third senior year and made money by selling drugs. Why would Nat want to be with a guy who had no future? She deserved better than him.
He looked back down at the journal and read.
"I didn't think Chrissy was going to be around for long. I thought maybe once he got it out of his system he would come to his senses and I'd try to tell him again. But he didn't. And soon, she was showing up to our table at lunch. I couldn't believe it. In front of everyone. Knowing this wasn't just a fling took the legs out from under me. The day I came to lunch and saw Chrissy in my spot next to Eddie… that's the day that crippled me."
Natalie
Nat couldn't believe it: Chrissy was sitting in her spot next to Eddie, while Nat had to take the seat at the end of the lunch table, in the only remaining spot. Dustin and Mike stared at the pair at the opposite end with big amused grins spread across their faces. Gareth and Jeff didn't know where to look.
"It's not natural," Gareth muttered, watching as Chrissy wove Eddie's hair between her fingers. Nat could hear Eddie murmuring something to Chrissy to make her giggle, but she wasn't sure what.
Jeff cleared his throat. "Are we still doing DND tonight?"
The mention of his favorite game made Eddie pull away from Chrissy. "Of course we're playing DND! Why wouldn't we?"
"I guess we thought you'd be too, uh, busy, to come up with a new campaign."
Eddie snorted, "Never too busy my friend. Same time, same place. 6PM in the room behind the auditorium."
Nat couldn't wait for the session tonight. She longed for some normal, Chrissy-less time with her friends. She even hurried to get to the session early, hoping she could snag some alone time with Eddie without everyone around. She missed him—not just in a "I'm in love with you" kind of way, but in a "he's my best friend" kind of way. With his nights mostly spent with Chrissy, Nat ended up sleeping at home. It had been days since they had spent quality time together.
But when she arrived, Eddie wasn't alone.
"Oh hey." Nat waved awkwardly from the doorway.
"Hey," Eddie replied brightly. He was setting up his DM screen and prepping the map. Chrissy, who seemed to be everywhere lately, was flipping through one of Eddie's books. "You're early; the session doesn't start for another 20 minutes."
"I know. I was going to help you set up." Nat gestured to the table.
"Oh, thanks. Chrissy and I got it all set up. I'm just adding the finishing touches." Eddie plopped a figure on one of the grids on the map.
"I see. I"ll just wait then," Nat tried to sound light, but her heart felt heavy. She walked over to her chair and started to pull it out to sit down.
Eddie held up a hand to stop her. "Hey, can Chrissy sit there?"
"Chrissy?"
"Yeah, she's going to play with us tonight!" Eddie explained with a grin, completely oblivious to the fact that Nat was trying her hardest to keep standing. "And since it's her first time, I thought if she sat by me I could teach her how to play."
"Okay," Nat said the word slowly. She glanced at Chrissy, who smiled at her and continued to flip through the book she was holding.
Nat sat at her new spot at the end of the table and waited for the others to arrive. Once full of excitement, she now wanted this session to be over as quickly as possible.
Once everyone arrived and got over the shock of Chrissy joining their party, the session started. No one seemed to notice that Natalie was hardly participating. No one seemed to mind Chrissy being there.
And when the session was over, no one seemed to mind that Nat quickly grabbed her dice, shoved them in her bag, and left with a hurried goodbye.
Eddie
" I couldn't get away from her. I eventually stopped sitting with the guys at lunch and stopped going to DND, but I don't think they really noticed or cared. They had Chrissy, who was brighter and bubblier than I was. Why wouldn't they prefer to have her around?"
Eddie swallowed hard and felt his throat tighten. Had none of them really noticed?
" I just want to be clear. I don't hate Chrissy. I've actually always liked her–she's kinder than you would expect. But Chrissy has everything she could ever want… why did she have to come into my world and take the little that I had?"
"Somehow, I managed to stay stable over the next few weeks. Even with Craig hiding behind every corner, waiting to make his move or press me against the wall, taunting me if we passed each other in the hallway. I managed to fight my way through… until this morning."
Eddie shifted uncomfortably in his seat. His blood turned cold, but he couldn't stop reading.
Natalie
"Hey, Nat!" Dustin called. When she turned her head, she saw him waving at her from the other side of the school parking lot.
Nat hesitated for a moment; did she want to interact? Her legs surprised her by taking initiative and closing the gap between them. "Hi Dustin," she tried to give him a smile, but she was pretty sure those muscles didn't work anymore.
"I haven't seen you in forever; where have you been?"
Right under your nose, she thought. "Just been busy. It's senior year," she shrugged, hoping he wouldn't press her any further.
"You should come to DND tonight," he said.
"I dunno, Dustin. I haven't been in weeks."
He shook his head. "So what? No excuses. Take a break and come slay a dragon or necromancer or whatever horrible thing Eddie cooked up."
Eddie… Even hearing his name made her stomach flop unpleasantly. Wouldn't he rather see Chrissy?
"I'll try," she wanted to sound convincing, but she was sure she just sounded hollow.
Thankfully, the bell rang before Dustin could push anymore. "I gotta go," she quickly disappeared into the school.
When 6:30 rolled around, Nat finally worked up enough nerve to stand, albeit frozen in place, outside the door to their DND room. If she left now, no one would be the wiser… And she was very tempted to leave. Instead, though, she made herself take a step forward and peek through the window in the door.
If Nat had any fight left in her, it drained from her in that moment. Through the window, she saw Jeff, Gareth, Mike, Dustin, Eddie, and Chrissy sitting around the table. Eddie was being his typical animated self while the others watched him in anticipation for his next move. Big, enthusiastic grins were plastered on their faces.
Nat took a step back, her breath was caught in her chest. Her body buzzed with nothingness.
They didn't miss her at all.
She was completely empty.
Eddie
"She did show up last night," Eddie said hoarsely, glancing at Dustin.
"When? I didn't see her."
"She was going to come in, I think, but saw us through the window."
"Why didn't she just come in?" Dustin shook his head. To him, it didn't make any sense.
But to Eddie, it did. "She thinks we replaced her… that we were better off."
Dustin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Wordlessly, Eddie dove back into her journal.
"I felt disconnected from my body. It carried me to Eddie's trailer, and I dug through his stuff for the pills. I should have cleaned up after myself. I should have left money. Or a note. But I was determined and I didn't want to lose my nerve.
"When I finally found the baggie, I thought about only taking one or two… just enough to get high and feel something other than debilitating loneliness. But something told me to just pocket the whole thing, so I did.
"When I got back home, I prayed Craig was asleep so I could sneak up to my room without him bothering me. When I saw his chair was empty, I took my chance and crept to the kitchen to grab a soda from the fridge. But when I turned around, Craig found me."
Eddie squeezed his eyes shut, his stomach flip-flopped uncomfortably. He had a feeling what she was going to write next.
"Craig probably thinks I had secretly wanted it. The truth is I just couldn't fight back. It was like it was happening to someone other than me—like I was watching from above my body. When it was done, the baggie in my pocket was calling my name. I emptied the pills into my hand as I ran upstairs and had them swallowed before I even closed my bedroom door."
Eddie slammed the journal closed, making Dustin jump. He stood up on quaking legs, made for the bathroom attached to the room, and barely made it to the toilet before he started retching, his stomach churning up nothing but bile.
In the room, he heard Dustin flip the pages in the journal. Dustin gasped when he found the page.
"We have to tell someone," Dustin's voice came from behind him in the doorway.
Eddie could only nod as he continued to spit bile into the bowl.

Everytime i listen to Me and Your Mama by Childish Gambino, it just reminds me of Eddie. Eddie IS Me and Your Mama, the song is literally him i don’t know how to explain it. Modern!Eddie would so listen to it. It’s just a deep down feeling. Imagine being in his van with him, song on full blast while he sings. Guys i can’t do this anymore! He would drum on the steering wheel with his hands full of rings, LORD HELP ME! He’d reach out to your thigh shaking it as he sings, turning the wheel with one hand.
me rn: 😫🫠
