In general, I really do try to assume the best in people and give them grace, even if their actions upset me. Because I do know there's no way of knowing everything someone else is going through. And I also know that even if it may feel that way, it's more likely than not that the way a person is acting has nothing to do with me. We're all just making do the best we can with the knowledge and emotional resources that we have available.

Sometimes that bites me in the ass. Sometimes an asshole is just an asshole. Sometimes I end up feeling more hurt later on. Sometimes the other person isn't interested in giving that same grace to me.

And that's okay.

Because I'd still rather hold to the belief that we are generally good people who sometimes unintentionally hurt others because our own loads become too great, or because we didn't fully understand another person's POV, or because we're just human beings and that means we can kind of be dicks at times, than to become the kind of person who views everything that makes me feel bad as an attack, and anyone who makes me feel bad as a Bad Person.

Starting off with re-painting this Lucifer portrait from Obey Me! I made a few years ago. Back then I thought it came out really well but at a different skill level I hope it looks better lmao

My controversial opinion about Hob Gadling is that I believe he’s absolutely the sort of guy that “puts things behind him”, and tries to wash his hands clean of the things he feels icky about. This is implied pretty well in the show, with him blithely moving from soldiering and robbery to printing, from slaving to… whatever it was he was doing in the 19th century instead. That being said, this is not at all the same as actively trying to atone, or even making a concerted effort to be a better person, and I really wish fandom could tell the difference!

being mad at an actor for something they have done is so so valid, you can be upset, you can be annoyed, but literally wishing death on someone? That makes you a horrible person, full stop. Publicly hating on people is pathetic in the first place, but constantly harassing someone, telling them you wish they would die, essentially telling someone to fucking kill themselves?? That makes you a terrible person, that makes you no better than the person you are hating on

you can bitch in private, everyone gossips, everyone talks and bitches and complains, and that’s fine, that’s normal. What is not normal is obsessing over an actor and persistently putting them down. actors are real people too, they are affected by what you say about them, they have feelings and get upset, just like you do.

I genuinely do not care how much you hate an actor, you are the problem if you do this - actors don’t deserve to be abused just because some people can’t have some decorum and respect
