An emotional, lively, feminine woman who has strong family values would be a dream come true for König. If you identify with the concept of marianismo at all, if you're loving and loyal and want to support your husband-to-be (König won't settle being just your 'boyfriend'), want to get married too and embrace your femininity while he gets to be The Man, your provider and protector, well, damn. A fun dynamic they would have- i’ve always really wanted to see larry and nicole become friends. they both know what it’s like to work so hard and receive little to no recognition, but nicole is intense in a way that larry isn’t. i feel like if they were friends she would absolutely destroy anyone who was rude or mean to her boy, and larry would make sure she always got the best appointment times and discounts and shit. they also could bond over talking about their lovable but somewhat useless boyfriends/husbands, and maybe nicole would even get larry to babysit at some point. idk i just feel like they could be good friends, especially since i don’t feel like nicole has enough friends in canon. also if richard and lazy larry had known each other in high school/college? they would’ve played so many video games together. it wouldn’t have been a super developed or intense bond at first, but they would’ve just felt accepted and wanted by each other, and as larry got his act together and richard fell in love with nicole they might’ve tried to stay in touch and support each other. also obviously there’s his bond with his adopted son, rob, which is always worth exploring. i feel like steve definitely was more enthusiastic about wanting kids and wanting to protect and care for rob in particular, but larry is a good guy who never wants to see a child hurting, and he was open to getting to know rob if rob was willing to get to know him. at first he expected to be more like a kind of distant but supportive uncle figure, but rob ended up hanging around at larry’s work when he was bored and just kinda following him around being equal parts helpful and purposefully annoying. eventually this turned into the two of them having real conversations, and rob became comfortable going to larry for help, advice, and love. larry helps rob with his homework, especially since steve doesn’t remember nearly as much high school math and science as larry does, and he talks to him about things like anxiety, depression, and the fear that nobody likes or cares about you. they both know what it’s like to feel like nobody appreciates you. when rob gets old enough to work, larry makes sure he gets hired but doesn’t take on too many shifts. just like. overall they have a really nice and caring dynamic sprinkled with moments of “what’s up youtube this is rob here with another compilation of me giving work dad heart attacks”

Any other fun headcanons or things i wanted to elaborate on- i already gave y’all a novel so i’ll try to keep this short and sweet, but larry is definitely a caffeine addict. he canonically gets wayyyy too little sleep, and he’s fueled by a mixture of caffeine, anxiety, and the knowledge that he has bills to pay. he does fall asleep at work sometimes, but only for seconds at a time, and then he jolts back awake with the most panicked fake smile. also he has anxiety and depression (rip) and has had panic attacks in the break room before. he’s usually pretty straightedge because 1) he doesn’t know how things will interact with his meds 2) he gets randomly drug tested at work 3) he just isn’t that into drug culture, but once in a while if he knows it’s safe he’ll experiment with steve. steve would never actually offer drugs to children but larry is still the hammer when it comes to keeping rob clean. he secretly doesn’t really care what rob does as long as he’s safe, but larry really wants to be the parent and role model that rob never had, even if it means being the one who gets labeled “the less fun dad.” rob is secretly glad that larry provides him with structure and, at the very least, something to rebel against. anyway overall he’s a 10/10 wonderful character and i love larry 💛

Mista and S/O as spouses… and parents!!

Mista leans really far into that Italian stereotype of family being very important. It may not be on the forefront of his mind 24/7 but he does want a family—spouse, kids, the whole shebang!

He’s very aware of the fact that his line of work is very dangerous, so he doesn’t even think about bringing it up until he’s sure that you want the same thing. It’d be unfair for him to ask so much of you when he’s not entirely sure of what might happen to him in the future. But once he knows that you want kids too, he’ll be ready. Mista isn’t the kind to half-ass anything, so expect him to be 100% on board, all hands on deck when the time has come.

Now this is going to sound weird, but I think Mista would be traditional in the sense that he’d want to be married to you before having children. He wants a pretty moderately sized wedding, with about 100 of your closest friends and family attending. Mista, being a big believer of fate, is probably somewhat religious and would want to have a religious ceremony. 

Also! Considering his position in one of the most powerful criminal organizations, Mista is pretty loaded. He spends a lot on his regular getup, so you can bet that he’ll get himself a really nice tux for the event. Will gladly set aside a lot of his money for the wedding’s budget. If you want to wear a designer tux? He’s got you? Want to wear a beautiful wedding gown? You’ve got it babe—Mista wants you to feel like royalty on your special day. He’s so happy you want to get married and start a family so he’s ready to spend it all on you. Just make sure he doesn’t get too carried away.

The food is also important. Expect him to get a menu all set for the reception. Four courses, baby!! The Italian way. Got your antipasti, primi, secondi, and dolce. Mista loves food and he has good taste. Leave it to him and the Sex Pistols.

And yes. You decide to adopt the whole cake cutting/feeding custom from the Americans… and you will most definitely be feeding cake to Mista as well as the Sex Pistols. Just go with it. hehe

Smashing a vase is a really big custom (according to tradition, however many pieces the glassware breaks into will symbolize how many years the couple will be happily married), and Mista’s really superstitious, so he insists that you both follow that custom and do it at some point during the ceremony. Vase breaks and—would you look at that!!

Giorno and Bruno count about 98 pieces total. Mista’s smiling ear to ear.

Anyway let’s skip the honeymoon and get straight to married life!!

Mista doesn’t know how to cook, but he wants to learn so he can help you. At the very least, he’ll brush up on knife skills so he can chop the vegetables for you. Always insists that you make enough for about 3 people because his stand needs to eat. 

Maybe it’s all those years of living on his own and having a job that sends him home every night with some kind of bruise or wound (or just straight up blood from someone he had to pummel), but Mista’s very very good at doing his laundry. Knows how to get just about any kind of stain out, and is very particular about how his (very expensive) clothes are cleaned. 

if you’re working full-time, he’ll make sure to split the chores with you so you can have time to relax. Usually likes vacuuming and dusting surfaces. Is very good at keeping things pretty organized.

If you’re staying at home (which you are totally welcome to do, because he has enough money to support you both), he will still insist on taking some of the chores off of your list so you can relax !! He wants you to feel pampered and everything.

He loves climbing into bed every night and cuddles with you before passing out. God he’s a cuddler. Expect to be held all throughout the night, especially because Mista is just so in love with you, and married life is just the best! He’s happy to be with someone like you.

You usually give in to Mista’s tenderheartedness, and have breakfast ready for him every morning before he goes to work. Mista likes to get his beauty sleep though and wakes up late, so you always have a pastry and some espresso ready for him. He’ll cram it down his throat and wash it down with a double shot of espresso before giving you a kiss and running off to work.

It’s like this in your apartment for several months until !! Mista proposes that you guys get a nice apartment closer to Giorno’s place (mostly because he wants to laze around in bed a little longer for…. you know what). And he thinks it’s time he got you a place fit for royalty! So you both settle on this really nice apartment in the Chiaia district, close to the Piazza Amedeo station. The location’s perfect because it’s cut his commute by like ten minutes and now he can spend his mornings with you. 

so several months after you’re moved in…. you finally pop the question. And Mista doesn’t say much because he’s absolutely floored. He’s been wanting this for so long! And he asks you questions. Are you sure about this? Do you think he’ll be a good dad? Will the kids like him? What if they hate him!

And once you and Mista have talked about it plenty, you finally decide to have children.

If you’re adopting, then you have to go through a lot of pesky paperwork because there’s surprisingly a lot of laws in regard to adoption in Italy. You’ll obviously get approved though, because you’re decent people. And if there’s something off in your records that’s holding things off a little bit, then well. Let’s just say that Mista’s boss is able to pull a string or two **wink wink**

If you’re having your own kids or if you want to carry the kids yourself then Mista, being the pervert that I suspect he is, will be enthusiastic about doing his part.

Oh he’s dedicated. Every day of the goddamn week until that test comes out positive.

Pregnancy (if you go this route) goes just fine and Mista is determined to be there every step of the way. He makes sure to tell Giorno that family is important and he wants to be there for his spouse at every doctor’s appointment and will need a more flexible schedule, and Giorno being the way that he is, is actually fine with this (might have something to do with him wanting a family of his own, but who knows?).

The baby is born !! Ahh!! Mista thinks names are important so you’ll spend a lot of time picking names

Honestly anything goes here, so whichever name you pick for your baby, is what we’re going with for now (I might pick one if someone wants a Papa!Mista fic eventually, but yeah)!

Mista is a great dad!! He’s always been a great caretaker for the pistols, but as a parent he goes above and beyond. He was born to do this.

Very flexible, go-with-the-flow; always able to make any adjustments for unexpected changes and such in the schedule or just life in general. He’s spontaneous, which your children will absolutely love, and he’s very big on communication. Sometimes wavers between blunt and tactful, but he always gets his message across to his kids clear as day, and makes sure they know what he expects of them so that no one gets hurt and that they’re all on the same page!

He really encourages his kids to be independent and take risks (though he’s not the greatest role model considering all the scraps he gets into) and overall gets a kick out of seeing his kids grow up. He’s a proud papa.

As the other parent, you’re the one picking up where Guido isn’t so strong, which is setting a healthy routine (important for kids!! don’t underestimate its value in a child’s life!!!), making sure they get their homework done and getting everyone together at the end of the day for dinner and also scheduling your family outings. 

Mista is the dad who likes to get his kids gifts on random occasions (and “just ‘cuz”) and taking his kids on adventures they’ll never forget (like going to the gelateria on the way home from school).

Mista is the dad who loves to roughhouse his kids. Expect pieces of furniture and small antiques to be broken as a result of a game of tag, wrestling, or just a plain old tickle-fight. If it’s something important, like a really old vase that was handed down in your family, Mista will bravely accept the punishment of being chewed out by you in rapid-fire Italian while the kids find a hiding spot. 

Mista loves sitting with the kids in their room at night when you’re reading a story to them. Sometimes he’ll fall asleep too. If he does, just shove him and tell him to get up so you can both sleep in your bed.

Sometimes he’ll ask you to sing them a lullaby and pester you with them if it means he can hear you sing. Moments like these make him realize how lucky he was to not only make it out of Giorno’s adventure alive, but also be able to meet you and fall in love and have a family with you.

Francesca Norris has known Ricky Goldsworth for a very long time. She knew him when they were both innocent children who were too young to understand the horrors of the world. They both enjoyed going to elementary school together, and, when asked about their parents, they both always answered with the same “they work in business” phrase because, in reality, their parents’ jobs were very complicated.

Ricky’s mother Lucy Goldsworth was a famous criminal who was infamous for her reasonable rates and efficiency. When someone needed something illegal to be done, Lucy was always the person people went to. Her husband, Ricky Goldsworth’s dad, was a mobster that he worked with Lucy but ending up running off, hence Ricky’s daddy issues. On the other hand, Francesca’s mother was an infamous spy who was well known for her problems with authority and Francesca’s father was a journalist who was not observative at all.

Francesca’s mother met Lucy on a mission once and they both became fast friends, bonding over their shared hate of government officials. Ricky and Francesca became friends because they saw each other so often when their mothers met up to discuss how dumb politicians were. 

There was no surprise that both mothers were killed during missions and that left a very important decision for Ricky and Francesca. They had to decide whether they wanted to pursue a different path from their parents or take over their jobs. To this day, Francesca still has no idea whether Ricky influenced her or she influenced him, but somewhere along the line, they both agreed to follow in their mothers’ footsteps, becoming “bad people”, instead of ending what their mothers had started.

Ricky has always been cold, even before he started killing people for cash. His cold behavior makes it clear he always destined to take on his mother’s job. Even as a child, he had little remorse to show for other children who were in his way and while he didn’t exactly deal with them by stabbing them, Ricky was still shoved them out of his way with the aggression he would use to stab somebody. Francesca, on the other hand, was responsible for talking the teacher out of punishing Ricky, which is how she realized that she had a hidden power of sweet-talking and persuasion. 

Unsurprisingly, as Ricky spent more time doing his job, he grew more apathetic and whatever little sympathy he had in his heart seemed to have shriveled up and died. Francesca knew that his job required him to practically be drained of any emotion but she was alarmed by the fact that Ricky somehow grew colder as he grew more powerful. 

However, Francesca’s alarm disappeared the day that Ricky stopped by her house for their weekly weekend conversation about life updates and such, since the two still remained best friends even after their new jobs dominated their lives. Francesca was adjusting the position of her clock on the wall (the time read 9:14 at night) when she heard a knock on the door. 

The moment Ricky opened the door, Francesca knew that something was up with him. Her instinctive habits of reading people kicked in and she began noting all the signs, connecting them as she went along. Ricky’s top button was unbuttoned and he never left his top unbuttoned unless he was trying to impress somebody, which he didn’t really need to do in order to attract business since he was pretty well known in the criminal world already. So, this meant that he left his top button unbuttoned for somebody who he was not working with, possibly as a means to express subtle romantic interest.

Before Francesca could scrutinize any further details, Ricky made the connections for her when he took off his blazer and excitedly exclaimed, “You won’t believe what happened today! I met the dumbest, but also cutest, detective today when I was working on an assignment somebody gave to me and apparently, somebody else tipped the authorities off about the assignment so C.C. Tinsley was there and he was definitely not the detective to send because first of all, those long legs are totally wasted if he’s just standing around solving cases all the time and second of all, he got really distracted by my flirting and I managed to slip away with the goods before he could notice. He was really cute though, I’m thinking about seeing him again.”

Ricky paused his rambling to catch his breath and Francesca was shocked into utter silence. She hadn’t heard Ricky talk about anybody so passionately ever in their countless years spent together and she seemed to be unable to process the notion that Ricky Goldsworth wasn’t completely emotionless. Maybe Ricky had finally lost his mind after years of trauma from the horrors he witnessed during his assignments; that would be a more reasonable explanation than the suggestion that Ricky might be catching romantic feelings for somebody. 

“I’m going to take your silence as support. I’m going to see him again, and hopefully ask him out, and maybe this can go somewhere,” Ricky concluded before he took out Francesca’s knife-sharpening tools from her cabinet. Normally, Francesca would’ve teasingly rolled her eyes since he always used her knife-sharpening tools, even though he had a perfectly functioning set at home. Instead, she was still so shocked that she just watched Ricky sharpen knives as he hummed happily to himself.

The next time Ricky spoke about C.C.Tinsley, Francesca was just about to go to sleep. It was 1:32 am and frankly, Francesca was more than ready to go to sleep after a long day of staying in disguise for her latest mission. She just finished removing her wig when she received an incoming call from Ricky. Usually, Ricky preferred to stop by to chat so this meant that Ricky either had something urgent to say or something extremely quick. 

Nevertheless, Francesca picked up just in case the case was the former and, just her luck, the case was the latter. Before Francesca could even ask Ricky why he was calling her, Ricky began rambling about C.C. Tinsley.

“Guess what? I talked to him again and convinced him to go out on a date with me! It’s going to be great. But I mean, I obviously maintained my cool and stayed calm but I’m really excited! I know you’re probably planning to sleep right now so sorry for calling you but I just wanted to give you an update! Good night!”

Francesca was very certain that Ricky was either possessed, had too much sugar, or was truly infatuated with this detective for him to sound so energetic at 1:32 in the early morning.

That was not the only instance where Ricky contacted Francesca in the dead of night (or extremely early in the morning). At 3:25 am on a Wednesday night, Francesca woke up since her mission started at 5:30 and she needed two hours in order to get into her disguise. She received a chain of text messages from Ricky about C.C. yet again. This time, it was about how C.C. agreed to finally move up to boyfriend status.

As Francesca put her lipstick on, she read the enthusiastic texts that were all punctuated with several exclamations marks and random keyboard smashes to express the feeling of being overwhelmed with emotions. She was glad that Ricky hadn’t started using emojis to unironically express himself because that would be the most concerning action out of all the actions he did so far. Francesca replies with a few words of encouragement and then told Ricky to sleep and save his love for later.

There were so many more instances where Ricky talked to Francesca about his boyfriend. He invited her to his housewarming party when he and C.C. moved in together at 12:34 am on a Sunday night (technically Monday morning). He also sent her photos from his first vacation with C.C. in some secluded place in the middle of nowhere that had breathtaking views at 7:45 on a Tuesday evening. 

The most memorable one was the most recent one, which was exactly at 2:45 in the early morning when Francesca received a call from Ricky. She predicted that it would be about Tinsley and she picked up, half-awake. “Hey Ricky, what’s up?”

“Fran, I’m getting married! I just proposed to Tinsley and he said yes. Would you like to be my best man? Well, I mean, technically you’d be my best woman and it goes against tradition but screw tradition.”

“Are you kidding me? I’d love to!” Francesca practically squealed, standing up as joy coursed through her veins. “I’m so happy for you! Congratulations!”

This is what led to Francesca standing at the altar, giving a speech about the specific times that Ricky talked about his fiancé and how the clock seemed to play an important role in the evolution of their relationship. She finished her speech and Ricky and C.C. finally got married after years of being in love at exactly 6:19 in the evening on a Sunday. Their relationship was the definition of clockwork and Francesca felt a little emotional at the thought of her being able to see how they decide to write their future.

I can totally understand that you already have them in your heart! 💜 I was lost the very second I started researching interviews. They’re all just so genuine and amazing in their own ways. 

What you should definitely know about the boys … In general? They’re incredibly hard-working and dedicated to their work and fandom. They love us, their fans, and miss no chance to let us know how grateful they are for our continuing support. They started out pretty young, especially Jungkook, and have been living together since their trainee days (over 7 years ago). They also repeatedly stated – a fact that seems especially important to Yoongi – that they don’t plan on changing that anytime soon, even though by now they are surely old and ‘rich’ enough to be living by themselves. They consider each other family, they deeply care about, rely upon and are always there for each other. There is so, so, so much more, what I’m sure you’ll find out through watching interviews or videos like Run BTS!, Bts Gayo, Bangtan Bomb …

Both these stories detail the real-life, adult struggles many have faced before, and how they cope and move on with the support of friends and lovers like your Dadsona. We’re going to continue looking at another struggle of the single dad life: divorce.

These days, it’s almost commonplace to meet someone who’s a child of divorce and whose parents are exactly the same way. Stepparents and stepchildren are beyond fairy tales and soap operas. Lots of us get carried away with the drama when we see a celebrity couple separate and remarry. Marriage is complicated as all hell, but getting out of one has its own set of problems, as well, especially when the kids are involved.

Hugo Vega—literary nerd, cheese enthusiast, wrestlemaniac. Laugh all you want about his son’s name, but  Ernest Hemingway Vega will probably light your desk on fire or leave a flaming bag of poop at your doorstep like a classic, rebellious Youth. In the second date, Hugo reveals that his former husband is “the cool” parent, while he gets to be the grumpy teacher parent who always finds himself disciplining Ernest. Your Dadsona sympathizes with Hugo, especially when your own daughter, Amanda, has her personal qualms towards authority (she didn’t kick that “for sale” sign for nothing).

Unlike being a widow, being a divorcee has the trouble of their former partner being, well, alive. There’s a lot of communication and work to do in a divorce, including custody and visitation rights for their kids. Now, as an unmarried person with zero experience in raising nothing else besides a dog, I can’t imagine the amount of stress and heartbreak divorce can manifest. The same applies to the previous post in regards to the death of your spouse, but let’s boil it down to what it feels like, in bare bones terms: it’s rough. Hugo’s working for a school under major budget cuts and deals with an army of hormonal, defiant teens every day. He hides the fact that he loves wrestling because he doesn’t want to give another reason for his students to act against him. On top of all that, his kid is giving him a hard time. You gotta feel bad for the guy—he’s trying his best and your Dadsona is there for some much-needed relief, be it in the form of trivia nights and wrestling action.

In this case, moving on involves letting Hugo come out of his shell and be more himself than he already is. He can still be into talking about J.D. Salinger and wanting to call himself J.D. Slaminger. And thanks to Dadsona, he’s gained some confidence and control of the kids who originally thought he was a square. “See you in class, bitch” is an iconic come back that I would love to use if I were a teacher dealing with some unruly students. The nicest thing about his ending is how all the students treat him better when they realize he’s pretty cool. Ernest isn’t always a troublemaker and thanks to you, he acknowledges his love for his father by the end, as well. All seems right by the time you get to the credits and hear that titular song.

Your Dadsona’s role in his relationship with Hugo is a fairly simple one, and one other should strive for in a relationship—he’s helping him be the best, coolest person he can be despite all the nonsense being thrown at him left and right. Switching gears a bit, let’s have Dadsona be a more serious but still encouraging boyfriend: let’s talk about Craig.

One of my personal favorite Dads from the game, Craig is your Dadsona’s old college friend. A very wild and very irresponsible old college friend, who now lives the life balancing work, fitness, and his three very adorable daughters. He’s also the other divorcee of the game, formerly married to Ashley, who for some reason still goes by Smashley. Questionable nickname aside, I love this man. He makes me want to actually go join a gym and get my life together. Unfortunately, I’m a lot like my Dadsona—a yearly jogger who wants vegetables on my pizza because that’ll be healthier, kind of.

The massive change from Keg Stand Craig to Fitness Dad was necessary—he wants to be the best father he can be and he doesn’t want to fall into old habits and screw things up. It’s not clear that he’s also busy to the brim because of the effects of the divorce, but he, too, has a lot on his mind. Your Dadsona’s third date with him was supposed to be a getaway from all the noise, but Craig still feels guilty being away from his family and everything else. It’s something a lot of us can identify with in our own lives; we’ve got school and work and a future to build, it almost seems like a bad thing to just take a break. Like, we’re missing out on something or something terrible might happen and we’ll have to be there right away to fix it. Call it a product of the times. Millennials killing everything and the like.

Craig has a point, though. How can he ever relax when he’s got three kids to take care of plus a business and his own body? I like to think that the divorce woke him up a little. A little too much, maybe. There aren’t a lot of details about it on his route, so this is all just speculation and headcanon-ing, but maybe he got put into overdrive after thinking that he’s got to stop at nothing to provide the best life for his girls. If he can’t be a good enough husband for Ashley to stick around, at least he can be a good enough father. Whatever the case, your Dadsona knows that he’s worn out and he pushes him to make time for himself. It’s still hard to think about, and Craig is still learning as well by the end, but not taking a break is harmful in the long run. We’re all going to end up burnt out and hurting everyone in the process, but mostly ourselves. At least Craig has his bro on his side, helping him get back on track to being a well-rounded Dad.

DDADDS offers more stories I haven’t discussed, but among the four I have, it’s safe to say that there are different approaches to moving on from heartbreak and loss. The constant among all these stories is your Dadsona being a supportive friend and possible romantic interest, but that isn’t always the case. Romance isn’t always needed to find your footing after a major life event. Sometimes, you just need a good laugh and a bad Dad joke.

Christmas is coming closer, and everyone prepares in their own ways for the holiday season!

“Come on! Just taste it!”

“Are you sure it’s good?”

“I promise.”

Ruby looked at Max with doubt in her eyes, the brit smiling brightly, the man unusually enthusiastic. They had been at the animal shelter, Ruby somehow volunteering there now with Max twice a month, the man’s smile and his gentle eyes able to talk her into anything, but with this she wasn’t so sure. They had walked by a bakery near Ruby’s flat, Max stopping dead in his tracks when he noticed a dessert in the front window, a monstrosity that was unlike anything Ruby had ever seen before.

“It’s one of the best dessert britain has to offer.” Ruby raised an eyebrow, the black mass on her plate looking anything but delicious, but Max had insisted that a plum pudding was the best thing in the world.

“Alright, alright. I’ll take a bite.” Ruby took the spoon from her boyfriend, the word still creating a pool of warmth in the pit of her stomach. She bit into the cake, the overwhelming taste of raisins and rum filling her mouth, and Ruby wanted to spit it out, but in that moment she looked at Max, his eyes bright like a kid on christmas morning, and she realised that she never wanted to do anything that could ever disappoint him. She swallowed, the cake making it’s way down her throat.

“It’s delicious.”

“You really think so?”

“Absolutely.”

The meeting with Aja’s old housemate and proposed drummer, Nina Brown, had gotten off to a very weird start. First of all, the bitch had come in wearing cat ears and a tail like some kind of furry meets Josie and the Pussycats fucking

“Don’t worry about it,” Aja had murmured to Adore, “She’s a little…off, but she’s good drummer and super creative.”

And then when Adore was explaining her vision for the band - a group of free spirited, supportive musicians, gay women who all wrote music and gave creative input, all got their chance in the spotlight regardless of their role in the group, Nina cut her off.

“I don’t write music. So, I guess this isn’t the band for me. Sorry to waste your time.” She abruptly got up from the table and began to walk away.

Aja grabbed her arm and yanked her back. “Nina! Breathe for a second, god. Why don’t you show her some of your art?”

Nina rolled her eyes, sighing. “Fine, but I don’t really see what that has to do with–”

“Please?”

“I’d really like to see it,” Adore added. “Aja was raving about how talented you are.”

Nina pulled out a thick sketchbook and opened it. Intricate, detailed line drawings filled the pages, covered with swirling text. Adore read some of the text. The read like poetry. Or…lyrics? “Are these words original? Or are you quoting from something?”

“Original. Just…you know…a bunch of random nonsense…” Nina sighed, head propped up on her hands.

“Dude…” Adore read some of the words. It was free verse, a little disconnected, but there was so much there. “Nina, this is amazing. We can DEFINITELY use this as inspiration for song lyrics. I mean, if you’re cool with it.”

Nina raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Totally.”

“Huh. Yeah, I mean…sure. You haven’t heard me play yet.”

“True. Wanna jam? I assume you got the songs that Aja sent you?”

“Yup.”

Adore smiled. “Alright them. Let’s play for awhile and see how we all feel. Sound good?”

Nina nodded. “I won’t feel bad if you hate me. Don’t worry.”

“I already love you, but let’s just make sure you can keep count,” Adore laughed, slinging an arm around her.

Aja poked Nina in the side. “What did I tell you, Neens? It’s gonna be impossible to keep that stormcloud over your head with this little precious muffin around. She’s too fucking cute.”

“I can see that,” Nina agreed, picking up her drumsticks. “Seems exhausting.”

“So Nina will be in charge of team spirit,” Aja explained.

Adore giggled, slinging her guitar strap over her shoulder. “Hey, as long as she can play, and keeps writing that fucking sickening poetry, I don’t give a fuck about team spirit. You do you, girl.”

Nina finally cracked a genuine smile. “Thank you.”

“How about we try ‘I Can’t Love You’?”

“Copy,” Nina said, counting them in, “5, 6, 7, 8…”

“That’s the last of it!” Pearl smiled as she carried the final shipment of boxes into Trixie’s office. “I can’t believe we didn’t think of this years ago.”

Two nights ago, Pearl and Trixie had been home alone, when they had both realised over their fifth beer that online shopping was the answear to all of their christmas prayers.

“Did you remember my doughnuts and triple venti?”

“For the last time, I’m not your assistant dude.”

“You know I don’t have one.” Trixie sat down on the floor, Ivan happily playing with Trixie’s keys, the heavy metal more interesting to him than any of the ergonomically correct properly designed baby toys his mom had bought for him. “I’m the cool boss, I don’t need an assistant to fetch me coffee.”

“You keep telling yourself that dude.” Pearl smiled and sat down on the floor as well. “So, do you want to be on wrapping duty or not? Because I’d just like to remind you that I-”

“Not that box!” Trixie practically jumped up, the man snatching the box Pearl was holding from her hands, the brown cardboard not betraying anything.

“What the fuck?”

“Just, not this one okay, I’ll do the unpacking and the wrappi-”

“Nu uh!” Pearl sat up on her knees, reaching for the box, but Trixie was fast and fell on his back, keeping it out of Pearl’s grasp. “Come on! Let me see, who is it for anyone!”

“None of your business!” Trixie tried to worm away, but Pearl grabbed his pants, the woman jumping him, the two adults fighting each other on the floor, Pearl shrieking with laughter as they fought.

“Pearl! Come on- It’s private!”

“You’re my best friend! Nothing is private!” Pearl finally won, Trixie’s months of maternity leave not helping his fitness at all, Pearl yelled triumphantly as she tore the box from Trixie’s hands, and then, the unthinkable happened, the packaging broke, and a huge, purple silicone dildo floated through the air followed by a sea of packing peanuts, it flew across the room, the thing like a missile, straight for baby Ivan’s face, the dildo hitting him, and both Trixie and Pearl froze as Ivan started crying, his cheek bright red after the smack from his mother’s christmas dildo. Pearl looked down at Trixie, horror painted on her face.

“I’ll pay for his therapy. I promise.”

Fame heard the door to her office click, her brows wrinkling in annoyance. She was on the phone, overlooking the streets of Manhattan through her window as she talked, so she held up a to indicate she was busy.

“Yes, yes. No, yes. Yes we can discuss it next week. Goodbye.” Fame hang up and turned around in her chair ready to tear into whoever had wandered into her office unannounced “Roxy, I have told you several tim- Patrick?” Fame looked at her husband, the man standing in the doorway, a smile playing on his lips.

“Hello my love.”

“What are you doing here?” Even though they worked in the same building, Fame and Patrick rarely saw each other on workdays, both of them busy running their respective companies.

“Can’t a man come see his wife?”

Fame felt herself flush, her pale scandinavian skin betraying her as she could see the smile bloom on Patrick’s lips. Sometimes it felt like they were newlywed once again, any mentions of their marriage making warm delight curl in Fame’s belly, a childish feeling that only belonged to teenage girls and blushing maids, but Fame couldn’t deny that it was nice.

“And why has my husband come to see his wife?”

“Maybe he was hoping she had a little bit of extra time, and maybe, your husband saw his wife leave the house this morning, and remembered how luck he was.” Fame saw reach behind himself, a single flick of his wrist clicking the lock on her door, and when Fame looked up, there was a predatory smile on Patrick’s lips, once she hadn’t see in months, and it was directed directly at her. Fame lifted her foot and pushed against her desk, her chair rolling up against the window, leaving her vulnerable, but she had never felt more secure.

“I’m yours.”

“This is boring!” Raven sighed.

“We’re almost done.” Violet smiled and laid a gentle hand on Raven’s arm. They were in Raven and Raja’s kitchen, the livingroom filled with noise as a carpenter had come to redo the entire floor. Violet didn’t personally think it was necessary, but who was she to judge what Raven wanted to spend her fiancée’s money on. “We only need to find a seat for Fame’s mother in law.” Violet looked down at the gigantic seating chart in front of them, small pins in gold, silver and white representing if the name attached was Raja or Raven’s or common guests for the pair, along with red for industry people they had to invite, even if Raven complained loudly about it.

“What about here? I’m sure she’ll do fine with Nina Garcia.”

“No way.” Raven grabbed the white pin, only just saving it from a table almost entirely made out of red. “She’s not going anywhere near that cunt.” Raven pressed Patrick’s mom down, safely securing her at a table of bankers. “There. She’ll be happy with all the attention, and I won’t have to speak to either of them all night. No one is going to ruin my special day.”

Violet couldn’t help but smile, Raven as always looking out for herself first. “Of course.”

Last part!  Which is also frankly my favorite part because the Rajesh Khanna funeral was INSANE!!!!  Also, I really like Twinkle’s post-marriage life. (part 1 here and part 2 here)

First, my usual disclaimer so no one gets mad at me: Everything I am about to say may be true, or it may not be true.  I don’t know these people personally, I am just telling you what is the generally accepted “truth” about them, in case you are new to the films and hadn’t heard it before.

  In the first two parts, we went over Rajesh Khanna’s rise to be India’s first superstar, his surprise marriage to an untried teenager Dimple, Dimple’s leaving him and taking her kids and restarting her career, their respective post-marriage relationships (Rajesh with Tina Munim-going-to-be-Ambani, Dimple with Sunny Deol), and then the launch of their daughters, Twinkle and Rinke resulting in average careers and retirement and marriage for both daughters.  Twinkle married one of the top actors, and top playboys, in the industry, Akshay Kumar.  And she was the making of him, guiding him towards profitable and critically acclaimed roles, improving his career enormously post-marriage.  Which Akshay acknowledges.  Which makes him seem like a really great husband, even if he was a terrible boyfriend (secretly engaged to 3 woman at once and cheating on all of them with Rekha).

Post-marriage, Twinkle retired almost immediately and had their son and became a housewife/interior designer/writer.  “Interior design” is one of those things star wives like to do, Suzanne and Gauri are “interior designers” too.  I’m putting it in quotes not because I don’t believe they take it seriously, or even have made a success of it (with Gauri’s branching out into real estate development and everything else), but it’s definitely a kind of job you can only have if you are that kind of wife.  With the start up funds and the connections and the free time to focus on it.

What really impresses me about Twinkle is that she is all 3 of these things, and does all 3 of them well.  She is very very good at being a star wife/house wife.  She knows what to wear and where to go and who to be friends with.  And she makes it look easy and natural, not like she is trying to suck up to anyone.  And she is also a good interior designer.  She may not have the huge success that Gauri is enjoying right now, but she has her store and has had it for several years.  And finally, as a writer, she has had a column for several years and kept it up regularly.  Her first book, a collection of columns, was released a little bit ago.  And her second book, a collection of sort of human interest sketches, just came out.  I haven’t read the new one yet, but I read her first book and highly highly recommend it!  It’s a fun and easy read, she has a charming voice in it, and it’s a really fun inner look at life in a superstar’s house.  I am sure she wouldn’t have been offered the original column if she hadn’t been Akshay’s wife/Rajesh’s daughter/Dimple’s daughter, but after being given that first chance, she has succeeded on her own merit as a writer.

Oh, and she also made Akshay’s career!  He credits her with helping him focus and work better, and it’s certainly true that the years after their marriage were very very good for him.  And more recently, he credits her with reviving his artistic merit, because she straight up told him she wouldn’t have a second child unless he stopped making rubbish movies.  I believe that it is good for Akshay to have someone who tells him the truth and is upfront with him in general, this is a big advantage of having a wife.  And I also believe that Twinkle is very smart and insightful just on her own (like I said, I really liked her book).  But I can’t help thinking about Twinkle growing up watching her father make those producers wait, watching her mother successfully get her second innings in the industry, even watching her “Chote Papa” navigate his launch.  She’s got way more knowledge and training in how to build a career that lasts than Akshay ever could have.  That’s the difference between a sort of insider-outsider like Akshay (right schools, right neighborhood, right friends), and a real insider like Twinkle (grew up with 90% of the people working in the industry today).

My favorite thing about the Twinkle and Akshay relationship is how AWESOME Akshay is as a son-in-law!  This all female family had been struggling along for years, and now suddenly there he is!  Escorting Dimple at every event, joking with her, taking care of her, and seeming to sincerely enjoy all of it!  I also, by the way, love the little glimpses we get of how Twinkle and Dimple get along in her writings.  While Akshay is enthusiastic and interested in everything, Twinkle is a bit more sarcastic and irritated with Dimple’s sudden impulses and constant optimism.  Kind of reminds me of the stories that are coming out about Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.  I would love it if someday Twinkle writes her own Postcards From the Edge book!

Akshay, supposedly, also settled down.  Likes to avoid location work, to be at the studio at 9 and out by 5, to be home and in his own bed before ten and up to have breakfast with his kids.  But there are, very occasionally, still rumors about his little flings with his co-stars.  Priyanka, Katrina, Sonakshi.

When rumors are this consistent, I either don’t believe any of them or believe all of them.  With Akshay, I’m not sure which way to go.  It could just be that he is a supportive and friendly co-star, and so it appears that he is having an affair with everyone he works with, but really he is just being nice.  Or he could actually be having an affair with every co-star he works with.  However, if he is, I think it would be with Dimple’s awareness/permission.  Maybe it’s just the afterglow of their fabulous Koffee appearance, but really, all their public appearances feel the same way.  Not touchy and respectful and putting on a show for the media, but just kind of casual and natural and unrehearsed.  And, if nothing else, I’ve seen Twinkle’s old films!  She just isn’t that good of an actor!  So they must be happy in their marriage for real.

Before leaving Twinkle and Akshay, I want to take a moment for their kids.  They are very protective parents, there are few photos available of their son and almost none of their daughter.  But as their son gets older, they are slowly bringing him out more and more.  And I have to say, he looks EXACTLY like his grandfather!  Or maybe I’m imagining it, what do you think?

  Since I mentioned Rajesh, yaaay!  I finally get to talk about his funeral!  And, I guess, the slow decline that lead to it.  Rajesh’s film career was essentially over by the 90s.  He switched to politics at this point, and Dimple even campaigned for him.  Again, I am fascinated by how the lifelong marriage works!  Sure, they had been separated for years, and still were living separately, but he was also her husband and always in her life, and so she would campaign with him and appear together on his victory parade.  And, from the other side of things, sure Rajesh had had at least one other serious relationship post-marriage, but when it came time to appear in public, the only woman who would want by his side is his wife, forever.

That “forever” was true at the end as well.  It came fast, his end, the rumors started going around that he was sick, and suddenly Dimple had moved back into Aashirwad to take care of him, Twinkle and Rinke were in and out of the house too, we all got daily updates, and then he was gone.  But not before making a few final appearances to greet the crowds who were once again, after years away, massed outside his gates.

  Now, look at the timeline of these photos.  Akshay helps him out.  Akshay explains what is happening.  Akshay shows him how to wave.  Rajesh waves.  Akshay starts waving too, and Dimple backs up and tries not to cry.

You see why I love Akshay for this?  He is SUCH A GOOD SON-IN-LAW!!!!  And it’s not just that he showed up to help take care of his ailing father-in-law, anyone would do that.  It’s that he took charge of the public face of it too, used his own stardom powers and experience to give dignity to Rajesh and take some of the public scrutiny off of Dimple.

He couldn’t protect them from everything though.  Remember Anita Advani who I was a little mean about in the last section?  Yeah, there was a reason for that.  She had lived with and taken care of Rajesh for years.  But at the very end, he asked for his wife and daughters.  Dimple dropped everything and moved back into that house (which must have been all kinds of painful for her), and eventually so did Twinkle and Rinke.  Even Anju, his very first girlfriend (who never married after they broke up), came too, because he wanted her.  But Anita was quietly shut out.  And, after Rajesh died, she learned that he hadn’t even left her the house, the one thing he promised her.  He left everything to his daughters, and they did not want her there.

Okay, all of that kind of makes me sympathize with Anita.  But what kills all of that sympathy is that instead of trying to find some way of gently conveying her situation, homeless and having wasted 20 years of her life on a man who never really cared for her (sample memory: “When I would ask him if he slept with other women while he was on location, he would say ‘what does it matter, I come back to you, don’t I?'”), she went straight to the media.  And I mean STRAIGHT to the media!  Like within days of Rajesh’s death, while the family was no doubt still in shock with grief, suddenly there are stories everywhere about “Rajesh Khanna’s last love”.  And how Dimple was so cruel and heartless to her, how the whole family didn’t appreciate her feelings, how Rajesh really really loved her, not his horrible old wife.  I’m sure poor Dimple, having just lost her husband who, no matter what problems they had, was also the father of her two children and the man she married at age 15, having had this emotional rollercoaster of moving in and taking care of him, only to see him fade away, was not in any state to read a bunch of articles about how she was the villain in a soap opera, getting into a catfight and heartlessly throwing out the poor innocent heroine.  Anita even filed a lawsuit against them, including the random detail that she claimed her relationship with Rajesh started when she was only 13, and threatening to release photos and videos of “intimate moments”.  I just googled a little, and it looks like the lawsuit is still dragging on in various ways, and Anita is still popping up to offer quotes criticizing the family at the drop of a hat.

Let’s see, is that it for the Twinkle-Dimple-Akshay-Rajesh story?  I think so!  YAAAAY!  My reward!  I get to write about Rajesh’s funeral!

Rajesh supposedly left detailed specific instructions for how he wanted his last journey to go.  But really all he had to say was “I want to go out like freaking Snow White!”  The end result was, a funeral train the wound through Bombay, featuring Rajesh’s corpse in a glass coffin for all to see.

And they did!  “All” that is.  Thousands upon thousands of people turned out, whole streets had to be shut down.  In the end, the trip was cut short because the crowds were so large it was becoming a civic problem.  Let’s see if I can do this like it’s a crane shot pull back thing in a movie.  First, the close up on the front of the crowd, which is being driven back by policeman.

Then slightly farther back, so you can start to grasp the size of it.

And a little bit further.  This is immediately outside the crematorium where Rajesh’s body was being taken.

  And, in case you thought I was exaggerating about the Snow White effect, here’s a close-up of his float, complete with the closest members of his family riding along.

And again, by the way, I love Akshay!  He was right there, front and center the whole time, organizing this incredibly complicated send-off and taking the emotional weight so his wife and sister and mother-in-law could just focus on their grief.  Even handling the kids!  That’s Aarav next to him on the float.

  But you know what the biggest honor was for Rajesh?  Not all of this send-off and the pomp and the thousands who gathered.  No, it was the honor given him by possibly the only living person who could really understand what his life was like back in the day when he was king of films.

Amitabh goes to almost every funeral.  He seems to consider it part of his responsibility as the Biggest Superstar.  And, of course, he had to come for Rajesh’s funeral.  Not just the funeral, but the cremation as well, which was more of a family affair.

The photos I showed above of the parade, that was on the way to the crematorium.  Amitabh had to get there as well, with Abhishek to support him.  Only their car got caught in the crowd.  Here, have another group of photos.

The crowd realized who was arriving and swarmed the car:

The car couldn’t move and the crowd wouldn’t be beaten back.  In any other situation, the police would have forced an exit route and Amitabh would have been whisked away.  But in this case, it was Rajesh Khanna’s funeral.  So instead, Amitabh and Abhishek exited the car and walked.

All the way through this wild crowd scene the last 300 feet to the crematorium.  Because it’s Rajesh Khanna, the one man that even Amitabh Bachchan will lower himself to the human level to honor.

Terry Crews has apologized to Gabrielle Union.

Taking to Twitter Friday, the America’s Got Talent host sent out a series of tweets directed to Union after he seemingly invalidated racism and sexism accusations she made against AGT.

“I told @KevinHart4real a while ago, he needed 2 ‘acknowledge the pain of other people,’” he started. “Right now I have to do the same thing. I want to apologize for the comments I made. I realize there are a lot of Black women hurt and let down by what I said and also by what I didn’t say.”

“I hear you, I respect you and understand you,” the 51-year-old actor added. “I am sorry and I am here to support you. I spoke from my own personal point of view without first taking into consideration someone else’s experience.”

Crews then said that “disrespectful comments” directed at him and his family led him to “react angrily instead of responding thoughtfully.”

Crews referred to a set of tweets he sent on Jan. 27 seemingly directed at Union, 47. He wrote: “I’m a hog. You’re a chicken. Just ‘cuz you gave me eggs — don’t mean I owe you bacon.”

“There is only one woman one earth I have to please,” he wrote in a second tweet. “Her name is Rebecca. Not my mother, my sister, my daughters or co-workers. I will let their husbands/ boyfriends/ partners take care of them. Rebecca gives me WINGS.”

Crews’ reps referred PEOPLE to Friday’s tweets in response to Crews’ comments on Jan. 27.

In Friday’s Twitter thread, Crews then directly mentions Union, writing, “I want you to know it was never my intention to invalidate your experience— but that is what I did. I apologize. You have been through a lot in this business, and with that I empathize with the struggle toward fairness and equality in the workplace.”

“You are a role model to the entire black community and In my desire to be professionally neutral as your co-worker, I should have at the very least understood you just needed my support,” he ended the note, signing his name.

The series of tweets comes days after the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor received backlash for comments he made on 3rd Hour of Today, stating he never experienced the racial insensitivity and toxic culture that Union claimed existed on set.

“First of all, I can’t speak for sexism because I’m not a woman, but I can speak on behalf of any racism comments,” he said on the show. “That was never my experience … in fact, it was the most diverse place I have ever been in my 20 years of entertainment.”

A Variety report claimed that while she was on the show, Union had expressed concerns over a joke made by guest judge Jay Leno that was later edited out. The report added that Union and fellow former AGT judge Julianne Hough said they received “excessive notes” on their physical appearance, according to various Variety sources.

The Crews-Union drama escalated after Union clapped back at Crews’ claim that only one unnamed source had brought up allegations against AGT. There were several sources in Variety’s reporting.

“Truth telling, wanting change & having MULTIPLE witnesses who bravely came forward to let EVERYONE know I didn’t lie or exaggerate, really exposes those who enthusiastically will throw you under the bus, forgetting quickly who stepped up 4 THEIR truth,” she wrote on Jan. 24.

The tweet alludes to Union’s support for Crews after he alleged that a “high-level Hollywood” executive had groped him at a party.
