Hi everyone!! Theseus cquackity viceduo zombur revivebur here.

This blog has seen several hiatuses (my bad seriously my bad), and bouts of irregular posting. So I'm sure people who regularly check it have noticed that we (Fiona @quackbur and I) haven't been posting daily anymore and haven't for a bit now. So below the cut I'm gonna talk more about that, and our plans for this blog going forward

For starters, I love roleplaying on this blog so much, as does my cohost Fiona @quackbur. Fiona has done so, so much writing for this and I feel kind of bad for taking her credit over the past two or so years, so props to her for being such a good sport and for everything she's done. This blog wouldn't exist without the shared passion she had for it.

To get sappy, I love the friends I've made in bedrockverse, they remain some of my best and closest companions. I would not trade the times I've spent with them for the world. Beau, Holly & co, Met & Co, and Thunderbottles are some of the loveliest, most supportive, and insanely talented people I have ever had the pleasure of writing with and meeting.

This includes people who aren't part of the bedrockverse that I've written with!! Shoutout to Javi anonymous-jey casino-duckling, TGM the-g-m duckofthelaw, and AD anonymous-dentist therealnoodleman. It was so much fun bringing all the quackverses together, and I respect all of you so much as writers.

AND that also includes EVERYONE who has interacted with her!!!!!!!!!! Everyone who has sent asks (thank you so much, sorry we're terrible at replying), reblogged threads, commented, posted/liveblogged, DREW FAN ART (BLOWS OUR MINDS. THERE'S BEEN SO MUCH INCREDIBLE ART CREATED, WE CANNOT THANK ALL OF YOU ENOUGH), even just liked a thread, thank you. Seriously, it has meant a lot to us to be part of this community, and have so many people enjoy this blog. Insert Pitbull image happy you enjoyed.

So, going forward it would make us really happy if you all pictured casinoroyale as happy. He has songbird-sunrise, goofygoop, and a nation full of citizens that she loves. She babysits for tubbolul and latenightmining, and terrorizes rp!emduo not infrequently. All we really wanted was to bring c!quackity to a happy place and I feel we've done that. Of course he still has shit days, as a ptsd baddie, but the good days are more common. And if we never get to it (though I hope someday we do, maybe in the form of a collaborative one-shot or fic) know that casinoroyale and songbird-sunrise DO eventually get [REDACTED]. And one of them DOES get [REDACTED]. That was always the plan! Yay! [REDACTED]!

Not to say that we don't have more arcs planned for this blog, because we do! I just don't know when/if/how they'll ever get written, especially because a lot of my friends have moved on from their rp blogs as well. But I really do still feel happy with where he's at and happy with everything I've done. This is a project I'm really, really proud of and I will always look back on fondly.

None of this means that I'm not interested in c!Quackity or DSMP as a whole anymore, either. Actually that couldn't be further from the truth. But now I'd like to be able to focus on fics, and other forms of writing, which I've been doing more recently :D actually, you can read a short one shot I posted for exile's anniversary HERE

Roleplay Rules:

The "Canon Claims" channel is for those who would like to be the server's "Main" version of any Baldur's Gate 3 canon character (Astarion, Shadowheart, Gale, etc). The channel works on a first-come first-serve basis.

Duplicates are allowed, but not considered "canon" to server-wide events and can only be played in "Non-Canon threads". (See further down)

All RP channels are required to use appropriate tags for threads. These tags include Public, Private, NSFW, Canon, and AU/Non-Canon.

In order to request a thread be marked "Canon", you must request the tag from admins. This is to avoid accidentally mismarking a thread or mismarking a thread in bad faith.

Private threads should list participants. Those not listed should ask the thread starter for an invitation first if they'd like to join the thread.

Canon Threads will be held to a higher standard of quality and realism than AU/Non-Canon threads, in order to maintain a cohesive narrative.

Questions and Answers:

Q: Are Duplicates allowed? A: Yes and no. For "Canon Threads", there is only 1 version of each canon muse allowed server-wide. However, there is no limit on duplicates in "AU/Non-Canon" threads.

Q: How many characters am I allowed to play? A: Currently, we want to limit Origin and Companion Canon muses to one per person. There is no limit on Tavs/OCs, characters from other franchises translated into BG3 (from anime series, live action shows, video games, etc), or non-Companion canon characters (such as Cazador, Raphael, Scratch, Thorm, Orin, Gortash, Orpheus, etc).

Q: Am I required to play a character infected with an Illithid/Mind Flayer parasite? A: No. In fact, we encourage that some not be.

The Village Bridge Holiday Festival of Lights is a reoccurring holiday dash event hosted by @unovasrose. It is a flexible, open RP event meant to be done at your own pace, with no pressure to participate every day or even every week, and it extends a bit before and after Christmas and New Year's so those who are very busy during the holidays still have a chance to partake in the holiday fun. Additionally, the date constraints only apply to a few (optional) interactive events offered by the blog, so participants are more than welcome to continue any event-related threads even after the festival is officially concluded.

This year, the event will take place from December 15th, 2023 to January 5th, 2024.

The event is set up in a “choose your own adventure” format so your muse(s) can take part in any and all parts of the event they are interested in. The following amenities will be available:

Riverside Dance Party — The Village Bridge waterfront doubles as a dance floor open to all of those interested in grooving to dance-worthy holiday tunes. A DJ will be rockin’ around the clock and the Bridge Quartet will be providing live music every evening! If your muse is a performer and would like to be featured in the festival during impromptu open mic nights, send this blog an ask so they can be included in the lineup! Bridge Concession Stands — Enjoy mouth-watering holiday-themed treats from the concessions area!

Festival Games — Try your hand at winning an adorable poképlush and other great prizes. Test your aim by trying to knock off all the stacked MooMoo Milk bottles on the platform during MooMoo Milk Knock-Off or show off your strength by attempting to Ring the Bronzong. Route 12 Fire Pits — In the outskirts of town and along the path for the lights displays, festival attendees will come across many firepits where they can ward off the winter chill and roast some delicious Litwick S’mores!

Cozy Cabin Stays — Don't want to travel from a hotel the next town over? Book a stay in a rustic log cabin in the outskirts of Village Bridge! The cabins are fully furnished for a comfortable stay. Bookings are reserved for festival attendees.

Fireworks Displays — A spectacular fireworks display will take place on December 31st at midnight. Gather up your friends or cozy up with your sweetheart to bring in the new year with a bang! Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or fire-type Pokémon to help stay warm.

Custom sentence starters and short opens featuring festival workers will be provided for each of the areas to assist in interactions, but don’t be afraid to come up with your own scenarios!

I feel bad, but I'm getting a bit fed up with a mutual on my dashboard who has a habit of posting about how they don't feel like they belong or that nobody cares between bouts of inactivity (I feel this way at times myself but try to focus on engaging with the dash when this happens). Sometimes these posts also request memes/asks to their inbox, and they have posted opens or plotting calls in the past. I notice 1-3 people (including me) tend to reach out/like these fairly consistently, then the mutual drops off the dash again, rinse and repeat. I have tried to interact over the course of many months (never spamming, just liking calls or sending in a meme or two when I see them on the dash), but any asks or prompts I send them are never replied to, starter calls liked don't actually get starters written, threads get dropped after 2 replies max (plotted or unplotted, doesn't seem to matter), and any memes they've sent me in the past that I've replied to are lucky to get acknowledged by a like. Looking at these attempts individually I just figured they'd reply when they had muse, but now… now I'm pretty embarrassed that it's taken me this long to realize: they probably aren't interested in interacting with me, and have just not been getting attention from the mutuals who they ACTUALLY want to see these posts about needing more asks/interactions/reassurance from. But do they not realize how shitty it feels for others who ARE trying to include them and write with them when they talk about how the dash is dead, nobody wants to write with them anymore, etc etc…? I don't want them to feel ignored, but rp is not just about receiving all the time--you have to give a little as well, right? Anyways, I'm done reaching out and will just keep focusing on the people who seem genuinely interested.

About a month ago, you made a post asking(?) the original japanese for Mello's answer on Ryuk's journal, and i've made it my life's mission to find it. After hours of googling random words in japanese, i didn't find an actual screenshot, but i did atleast find the text.

......i found this on a random japanese thread from 2006 discussing whether Near and Mello were gay or not btw. Needless to say, it's 2 am and my hyperfixation on these guys is going to kill me.

ANON!!! I am, for starters, SO grateful that you did all this digging for my sake, and second of all very impressed by your dedication!! I have a feeling that the post in question originally came from an ask sent by @asmilethatshines, and I definitely spent a solid 20 minutes digging for an answer myself before I gave up and sent the request out into the broader fandom. Suffice to say, I very much admire your commitment to the cause (not to mention that I’m also really excited to have an answer to this!! It seems to me that English is one of the only translations that didn’t include “being mean to get the attention of the person he likes” or something to that effect, so I would say it’s pretty much confirmed that this was the original meaning behind the line).

Also the ending of this ask got an audible laugh out of me 😭 I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve spent hours upon hours scouring the manga for one minor detail and ended up plunging into an existential crisis. The 2003 yaoi hyperfixation is REAL and it is a powerful force 😔🤝

Thanks for reading my guidelines. I go by the mun-alias Midnight, also Raven (she/they), early millennial, living in the CET timezone. My activity level is medium to low, my reply speed is slow, please don't rush me. English is my second language. I'm from a german roleplay community and immigrated to Tumblr in 2022 after our old platform got shut down. I'm still learning about Tumblr rp etiquette and guidelines, please be patient with me. If you see me doing something unusal or weird feel free to correct me at anytime but be respectful about it.

01. To interact with me, you have to be 18+ (mun and muse). I am not affiliated with The Boys, its creators or the actor Karl Urban and I don't own the character Billy Butcher. I claim ownership of my own written headcanons and texts only. The Boys is an R-rated series and this is a general trigger warning for mature content such as blood, gore, violence, abuse, trauma, sex, sick humour, foul language, weapons, drug use and overall rude behaviour which can be expected from this muse.

02. It should go without saying but at the same time cannot be stressed enough: mun ≠ muse. On some occasions people were not able (or willing) to differentiate between me and my character which led to them feeling offended ooc and hardblocking me midconvo without communicating their discomfort. Butcher can be tremendously rude and aggressive, he swears excessively and is quick to insult your muse if he dislikes them or feels provoked. Writing him close to the canon is very demanding and getting his tone of voice and demeanor right is one of the greatest challenges that I've ever came across in 15+ years of writing. It's such a bummer when I put in the effort and the result is totally misinterpreted. Make sure beforehand that you can absolutely handle interacting with such a muse and do not take anything from him personal or too serious. I am completely different from him, I consider myself friendly, patient and very chill about most things and I'm always willing to talk things out.

03. Besides roleplaying I am also a hobby gif maker, therefore personal blogs are welcome to interact with my posts. Just make sure you don't reblog or comment on roleplay related stuff which includes tag games, writing examples, headcanons, threads and answered asks. Speaking of asks: I will generally react in-character whenever possible. I've received some messages in my inbox that I can't quite classify. If you want to talk to me, the person behind, please put your text in brackets or mark as "for the mun" so I know for sure you're addressing me and not my muse.

04. I haven't very much in-character text on this blog yet, since I mostly rp privately in DM's or on sideblogs. I'm very open and curious to try threads, I'd love to have some writing on my blog whether it be novels, oldschool style shorter postings or some in-character chatting. This would come closest to the 'Pinnwand' we had on our old platform and I still miss it a lot. I'm using the beta editor, which should be standard at this point anyways, and I am able to trim posts. Feel free to hit me up if you're interested and are comfortable with doing any sorts of public threads. You can also just send me an ask (off anon to start a continuous interaction) or tag me in a starter. I highly prefer german and I'm not open to english advanced literate, where complex prose is required. I have little to no experience with it but maybe I'll get more comfortable in the future.

05. When it comes to writing, I ask for a few things: no godmodding, power play or meta gaming. I also don't like forcing or rushing certain interactions that don't feel like natural character progression. Plotting beforehand is welcome but not mandatory. If it ever feels like being stuck we can pause the writing and have a small plotting session between scenes or even for the same scene. I am a big fan of the "yes, and" approach. Give me something to work with, don't let your replies be "dead" and passive. I get discouraged very quickly when I get little to no input and have to come up with moving the plot or interactions myself all the time. I don't have an estimated length for texts, it always depends and I usually don't match length just for the sake of having written a lot. I am not too fond of texts that are artificially bloated and there's essentially nothing happening.

06. I'm multiship and multiverse, meaning every ship takes place in its own verse if not communicated otherwise. I personally enjoy shipping a lot if there's good chemistry but Butcher is difficult to ship and due to his background pretty much unavailable for romantic bonding. It's not impossible though. I'm also interested in any setting where I get a chance to write him as an unhinged villain and diverge from the canon more liberately.

07. My approach to curating my dashboard is quite different, I would say, compared to what's considered standard (clean dash, small circle of mutuals). I follow a lot, and I mean a shitton, of people. I follow every blog out of interest and curiousity but please understand that it's impossible for me to interact with everyone. Also due to my gif making I get quite a bit of notifications when I'm actively posting sets, I'm prone to accidentially miss out on notifs about new followers/mutuals. My dashboard is fast and busy and I like it that way, I've made a conscious choice about this. It has become a wind down ritual for me, just silently scrolling, catching up and finding lots of stuff I enjoy without feeling obligated to contact people or getting replies done. Yes, I am here for rp, but I like to do lots of other things on Tumblr, too. There's periods of time where I don't have the energy to work on drafts or talk to anyone, not even folks who I have grown to genuinely like. Rest assured that you never did anything wrong when I disappear for a while. If I have any sort of issue or problem I will communicate it. What I'm not willing to do is constantly giving activity updates on a schedule. If I go on hiatus for longer I will most likely make a post about it. It's my personal opinion that no one should ever feel pressured into explaining why and for how long they are away.

FEBRUARY 2024 GETAWAY TO NEW ORLEANS

Pack your bags, we're hitting the road! All Merrockites are invited on a fun trip to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras, and also just to get away for a little while, in an exciting, fun location rich in culture and history -- not to mention really, really good food. The Benefactor will be taking care of travel expenses for the trip, which covers your flight and stay, all you will have to pay for is any fun that you get into, and of course your food, drinks and souvenirs. The plane will leave early in the morning on February 11th, and be departing for Merrock late in the evening on the 17th. Hope you'll come with us!

ADMIN NOTES:

This getaway is a little scaled back compared to our previous events in Finland and Costa Rica. The reason for this is simply that we want to give you guys the freedom to have fun in a new location, while acknowledging that trips have been a lot of work for us, as admins, so this cuts us some slack! Where your characters stay, what they do, who they stay with -- will be entirely up to you. You're welcome to start plotting now, but we do ask one thing: everything must 100% take place in New Orleans!

There will be several mini-events happening on this trip, including: the Super Bowl, Mardi Gras, Valentine's Day, a singles party, and random act of kindness day. None of these events will be mandatory, but they will be fun ways to get your characters involved or throw out some open starters. All events can be written during the entire duration of the trip, to give you time to enjoy.

OOC, interactions will happen between February 9th and 19th, with the usual rules applying: all threads must be started during this time period, but can be continued after! IC, the characters will be in New Orleans from February 11th through 17th. The Benefactor is handling the cost of travel and lodging, and should your character need financial help to cover taking off work, etc., that will be taken care of.

While participation and attendance are not mandatory, it is highly encouraged! Children are welcome (there's still plenty of family friendly things to do in New Orleans!), but we ask that pets stay behind, unless they're emotional support or therapy animals. Should you choose not to send a character on the trip, activity will still be required during that time! It's not a free pass to sit inactive; you will either have to interact with those who stayed behind, continue other threads (as a reminder, we never ask people to drop/pause threads for a shift in events, it's up to the players), or choose to start things dated for another time! Childcare is available -- either in the form of personal babysitters or a daycare center, again, provided by the Benefactor, so you can enjoy your trip.

Pain is a fine razor’s edge—too much robs your focus and strength, but a lack imparts no discipline or mettle. Pain can be as useful a teacher as it is a dreadful enemy. You’ll dodge faster from the next knife blade and blaster shot to avoid it. It can brand your memory like a bruise to press upon, invoking the raw resolve to finish a job or enact vengeance. Above all, it’s another fact of life he’s had to largely deal with alone. Sometimes his brethren in the covert treated him when he came limping home, moreso in earlier years. But this is usually as insular a practice as the rest of his rituals. Even after bonding with the kid and seeing his astonishing works, it’s not something he considers changing. His love for his son expects nothing from him; he’s not going to exploit Grogu’s abilities for his own benefit, not when he’s perfectly capable of handling himself. Somehow Din forgot to factor Luke into this equation.

A run-in on an Imperial ship between Mandalorians and New Republic pilots ends in violence and stalemate. Tensions are now heightened as several New Republic senators extend negotiations to the mysterious rule of Mandalore, a reformed planet isolated from the rest of the galaxy. Mand'alor Din Djarin and Duchess Bo-Katan Kryze begin defensive discussions with the Galactic Senate, opposed to becoming involved in any outside government after so recently reclaiming their home planet. As they aim to keep Din's identity confidential, the Mandalorians hunt the rest of the Empire in the Outer Rim and attempt to avoid the New Republic's domineering presence. But Senator Leia Organa isn't taking no for an answer with peace on the line. (Oh, and of course, the clan of two reunites.)

A travelling carnival has come to town with a unique main attraction, but you’ll never guess what that is. No, seriously – you’ll never guess. Fliers have been appearing around the French Quarter advertising a carnival with a unicorn as the star of the show. A real one. Insane, right? – guess you’ll just have to head on down to find out for yourselves. The entire city is invited, supernatural and OEA alike, trusting that for one night, the peace can be kept or forced at least.

ATTRACTIONS: ferris wheel, bumper cars, carousel, rollercoasters, tunnel of love, mechanical bull, the whip, the wipeout, tilt-a-whirl, the scrambler, log flumes, helter skelter, loop-o-plane, the circus, magic shows, psychic readings.

GAMES: ring toss, crossbow shoot, ball in the basket, balloon and darts, water gun games, duck pond, ping-pong ball and fish bowl game, ALL with prizes available. 

FOOD: What carnival would be complete without sugary treats? cotton candy, ice cream, fried dough, funnel cake, candy, or caramel apples and french fries. Meal items include pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, empanadas and tacos.

Unfortunately for our carnival goers, our unicorn friend does not come alone and is in fact a host for parasitic slugs. Yeah, we know – gross. Once these slugs get inside the body of their host, hosts will find themselves acting with lowered inhibitions; letting go of the things that they would usually hold back from saying and doing, as if they weren't thinking about the repercussions of it. To put it simply, they're going to be slug drunk. The wheel of chaos will be deciding which players are going to be infected by those pesky parasites and will be messaged shortly. **for reference, the slugs are from the 'we're gonna need a spotlight' episode of legacies. if you have any questions on them, don't hesitate to ask**

For the next two weeks, ( 05/13 - 05/27 ) our event is going to be in full swing and any threads currently happening outside of the event are encouraged to be placed on hold/carried over to the event. as always, we can't wait to see what plots our characters get up to and any event threads can be tagged with exitium.event003 with starters being tagged as normal ( @exitiumstarters ) to ensure that everybody is kept in the loop!

Hello, it's been a bit and I've missed you! This blog is currently a mess, and the state of the notes, etc, is stressing me out and making want to avoid it or throw a bunch of things out. This happens to me a lot actually, especially in spring, so I'm just going to treat this as spring cleaning a few months early.

Things that are New

All of my OP verse stuff for Eden I'm going to move to @malpractising - if this applies to you and you haven't yet, please go follow me over there. The verse I use here is just going to become a pre-timeline verse there prior to whatever shared timeline the crew sets up.

I'm probably going to keep my activity here a little lower because my sideblogs are just more busy - at least for a little longer. What really should probably happen is setting up Cora as the main blog and making this a sideblog, but I'm not ready to do that in my heart. OTL

I'm going to set up a thread tracker, for my sanity.

I'm going to unfollow people I don't interact with, that don't follow me back, or that haven't been active in around a thousand years or so
