What do you think of each of the Tokyo revengers girls? I want to hear some opinions on them (if anyone is seeing this and wants to say something about them please do! I want to hear as many opinions as i can)

Ahhhh, this was asked like months ago.... I'm so sorry to take so long to get to it....! I hope you've been well since!!

In general, I think Wakui has tried his best to portray the TR girls as strong and in the best light he can, but of course if you are to compare it against other works with really good, strong and driven female characters, it may seem to fall short. I personally like all of the female characters in TR though, and think that Wakui could have done a lot more with them! (well, this actually goes for a lot of his other male characters too...)

Hina: Shows her strength by being Takemichi's anchor, voice of reason and unwavering source of courage, imo! I like her, but in a pretty neutral way. I just think her relationship with Takemichi is really unfair against her... If you think about it, she spends most of her time with the 'other Takemichi' who we all know is not the Takemichi she fell for. That's.... rough..... And when the 'real Takemichi' finally time-leaped back to her, he straight up left her right before their wedding to die...... (I'm talking about the Bonten Timeline, of course). IMO: GIRL YOU CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER!!

Yuzuha: She's actually WAY WAY WAY stronger than most of the male characters!!! She's a bad boss bitch that's what she is!! This is a girl who has endured years of abuse from her brother so that she can be strong for her other brother..... She was even prepared to kill and go to jail for him!!! The fandom doesn't appreciate you enough, Yuzuha.....

Senju: A physical representation of strength for the TR girls!! I think she has a lot more potential and could have received soooooooo much more development as a character. She's a high school kid, traumatised by a childhood incident which she has been struggling with every day of her life, and leading an actual gang of older men. Boss bitch behaviour, but Wakui should've shown us more of it!! I also WISH Wakui had drawn her beefier and more muscular.... as she should be...........

Emma: Hina has heart, Yuzuha has strength and Senju has power, and even though it doesn't seem to be directly portrayed as such, I think Emma has the brains. Hear me out: this girl is really perceptive and emotionally in tune with others. A girl of high EQ. I'm sure Draken looks towards her for advice (Mikey too, though it may be harder for him to admit)

I must say that Wakui's portrayal of girls is a little 'traditional' and kinda 'black and white', and 'good or bad', in the sense that they don't really have many moral and psychological grey zones. Yuzuha comes the closest to it, though. Then again, his manga has always been about the fellas, so I guess that's why he doesn't focus on them much?

u sent this ask like a month ago but smth i saw recently was the theory that to “save mikey” takemichi had to “let go of hina”, making the series finale include hinatas death. which... i get it hinatas not a particularly popular character (tbh none of the girls are ✌️😃) but the idea that she has to compete with mikey over who’s “worth saving” is just stupid. regardless, idk what 2 think abt hinata. it’s probably just wonky writing but at times hinata was almost a paragon of forgiveness kindness etc that it was funny how she had people killing and dying for her. and she heard kisaki was the guy doing all this awful shit and was like “oh yeah tettas just silly like that 😝” GIRL?? 

as much as emma being sunshiny and content w/ everything is nice it would have been interesting to see her perspective on being in between the toman-tenjiku conflict idk. does she shoulder worries about her family that she doesn’t let on? plus sort of having to ‘grow up fast’ being neglected for much of her childhood (why she noted being ‘lonely’ in that one chapter), a lot of ideas that just went unexplored -_-. 

takeomi was curbing senju’s potential but so was wakui bro. she had a whole arc and backstory just to be hit in the head by sanzu and forgotten about i’m still mad about this idk what i expected and i know nothings gonna be done about it now but senju was such a solid character... the balance/inbalance between being seen as an ‘invincible’ leader of brahman vs. just also being a kid, and how in both roles her obstacle was the dark impulse (brahman is like the reincarnation of og black dragons to stop mikey’s bastardization of shinichiro’s vision of ‘age of delinquents’, and how senju blamed herself for sanzu’s mutilation by the hands of mikey) she was a lot more involved with mikeys dark impulse thing than a lot of people let on. im so tired of mikey conversations though so honestly ignore that last part 

yuzuha is one of my favorite tr characters she never appears but thats ok i’ll just make shit up and live in delusion. sm stuff abt yuzuha is just so crazy! smth smth yuzuha being so similar yet different from taiju about using violence, “i hate it so much i want it to die but i love my family” & “why would god make me kill my siblings which i love so much?”, both of them emulating their parents but failing etc... but also the yuzuha trivia is good fun. she does archery and girls love her swag. she also hates “good looking guys”. i think about that one a lot. just like me fr (wildly different reasons). 

ill add yasuda out of spite just bcz u said i had the option not to. she may have had like 4 panels total but her ride or die attitude lives on forever in my heart 😤😤 shoutout yasuda love u y-dog

You are very right! Peh yan has a good, at least ok fashion sense (those might be influenced by my own horrible fashion sense but oh well) that aside how would you rank Tokyo revengers characters fashion taste? You dont have to say everyone just give me the top and bottom tiers.

not sure how to really rank them but here’s what sticks out to me

i wont say whether it’s Good or Bad but sanzu dresses relatively formal + old fashioned. ever and especially since he was a child. disregarding the personality of the person in them, these are old man clothes. his pockets are full of lint covered hard candies

mitsuya’s fashion sense has always been mid-tier at best to me... sorry mitsuya people, his designs are okay but he just dresses like a regular guy there’s nothing special

it’s been rattling in my head forever but when takemichi was shopping with her, senju was interested in a store with spiky leather jackets etc you know the style, but takemichi didn’t let her go there. senju has objectively good fashion sense but once again held back by boring people

izana has good fashion sense i believe in him having good fashion sense i will die on this hill look at the black lace coat he has on his cover that was crazy. don’t look for that one official art where he wears those ugly plaid shoes it does not exist shut up shut up shut up

allegedly (src- hakkai), yuzuha has a good sense for clothes but it’s a different story for accesories. (i believe in bad fashion yuzuha... i believe in sauceless yuzuha. it’s an important hc to me that her wardrobe is just full of increasingly odd graphic tees. puts takemichi to shame.)

he has a handheld drill
