These Screenshots were taken from a Video that was posted and had gone viral recently about the Panguil Bay Bridge. If you haven’t seen it yet, then here it is, I will post the Link to the Video below. The Bridge is very new, it started construction in 2020 under the Administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, but was opened to the Public only in September 2024 under this new Administration of Bong Bong Marcos (BBM).

As we can see, despite the Fact that the Bridge is only less than three Months old, the Asphalt Overlay has already eroded, it looks like it was very thin in the first Place. This is likely an Indication of some corruption that had taken Place recently that resulted in the Contractor taking Shortcuts with the Overlay after paying off some Politicians and Others.

A very bad Start, and a very bad Example for the Type of Infrastructure Projects that we can expect from this current BBM Administration. I expect this Problem to be quickly fixed now that it has gone viral, but we are likely to see more of these Types of Issues in the near Future.

I am writing to urge you to cosponsor H.R.4052, the National Infrastructure Bank (NIB) Act.

The National Infrastructure Bank would provide $5 trillion in low-cost loans for a broad range of public infrastructure projects – including massive water systems – without the need for increasing taxes or any deficit budget spending. This has been done previously in US history—this bill is modeled on the successful Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RFC) started by President Herbert Hoover and used by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to build Hoover Dam and bring water and electricity to the Southwest.

Infrastructure investment is crucial in the US. We have an immense backlog of infrastructure needs including: affordable housing, total broadband coverage, bridge and road repair or replacement, lead service line replacement, high-speed rail, mass transit, etc. The NIB would finance all these projects—it picks up where the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act left off.

There is wide-ranging support for this. Twenty-seven state legislatures have introduced resolutions of support, and eight passed at least one chamber. Dozens of city and county councils have endorsed including: Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, Cleveland, and many more.

Shivraj Chouhan to Lead Monthly Monitoring of PM Modi’s Initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to head a new monitoring group tasked with overseeing the implementation of government schemes, budget announcements, and infrastructure projects. This initiative aims to enhance the effectiveness of various programs launched under Modi's leadership since 2014.

The inaugural meeting of the monitoring group took place on October 18 at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), attended by all secretaries of the Government of India, including the Chairman of the Railway Board, in a hybrid format. The group is set to convene monthly to ensure progress on government initiatives.

Chouhan has been granted the authority to assess ongoing projects and provide updates on those lagging in implementation. His role will involve coordinating with senior officers designated as nodal officers for different schemes. Key areas of focus will include reviewing announcements made on the PM's portal, projects for which foundation stones have been laid, and subordinate legislation requiring rule framing.
