#inko is air nation and izuku’s dad is fire nation!!!!!!!

atla au where everyone thinks the next avatar is either bakugou, shouto or mirio but its actually mr midoriya “nonbender” izuku

HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY MAMA MIGHT AU.

In this AU, Inko inherits One for All. At least, that was the idea that kicked everything else into motion. Cause also in this AU, she married Yagi Toshinori as well and had Izuku still. Her hero name is Vim, her fake civilian name is Haruna Samura.

Why does she have a fake civilian name? To hide her true identity and connections to her husband and son, the latter in which she hasn’t seen since he was 3 years old due to popularity and national need increasing. Due to this, she has no idea how her son looks like now as a teenager. Inko and Yagi keep a minimum amount of contact between each other. Which, to follow up with, he became a police officer and is still quirkless in this AU.

As anyone knows, her using this separation is to protect her small family from the dangers of her being the number one hero. When Deku reaches a certain age, he has questions but papa Yagi doesn’t have all the answers.. His hesitation in some answers causes their son to have doubts as he grows up. But yknow, all their safety precautions end up going out the window cause we know Deku. He’s a huge fan of the superhero Vim, and a similar scenario to the anime plays out. Inko has a soft spot for this mega fan that happens to be quirkless, especially due to being reminded of her husband.

(Btw the way Deku’s and Inko’s irises are colored are as they would be styled in the anime)

So some side information, the Toshinori family is still sent support money from Inko under her real name. A sort of “Government has it handled” thing. Also while Yagi is on duty and working, he tends to ask one of the neighborhood parents if they could babysit Izuku. More often than not, Mitsuki Bakugo is the one who takes it up.. Thus changing the dynamic between Katsuki and Izuku to almost like begrudging brothers.

Inko doesn’t figure out Deku’s name until the entrance exam. She panics, a hella lot but doesn’t tell him. Later when the results have been decided but not sent out, she does call Yagi. But like its her apologizing profusely, saying she didn’t know etc since he knows how she came to have One for All. And now their boy has inherited it.

Deku doesn’t find out until the U.A. dorms are becoming a thing, as Inko wanted to talk to Yagi one on one about it, face to face finally. Everything really. But when Izuku opens the door, and Yagi sees her.. Well he was expecting Aizawa, not her. Her name slips out from him, a meek and uncertain waver of...

“Inko...” “What? Dad? No, this is Haruna Samura, yknow.. Vim. The superhero we’re a big fan of--- Vim! W-Why are you  crying?! Dad, you too?!!”

A whole mess of a situation unfolds, so instead of Yagi and Inko having an argument/debate about dorms... There’s Izuku being upset with the both of them for not trusting to tell him about who his real mother was this whole time. Which, by the by, Deku has insecurities about himself still embed from believing his mom left because he was quirkless.

Another info so far: Enji is a stay at home dad, and Rei is the number 2 hero instead.. As Lady Winter, so their roles have been swapped as well. Not everyone in this AU is swapped, just a few... Which is why I named it the Mama Might AU instead of just _____ Swap AU. Shoto Todoroki mains with fire instead of ice, being more offensive instead of defensive in maneuvers.

Katsuki and Izuku had a falling out at the end of their middle school years that has caused an awkward air...  So the former has decided to keep up his rough and rude and proud persona even around the latter.

Mineta’s position of whether being swapped out or not has been undecided.

BNHA ATLA AU

so a couple days ago while coming back from nc i hashed out a few ideas about an avatar au w bnha. mostly like have the bnha characters be benders in something like the avatar world

and so far in terms of who’s what, i have:

Midoriya is avatar (fire), after All Might (earth) - Inko is non-bender from Earth Kingdom, father what’s-his-face is fire bender

Water Benders: Todoroki, Ashido, Asui

Earth Benders: Yaoyorozu, Kirishima

Fire Benders: Bakugou, Kaminari

Air Benders: Uraraka, Iida, Jirou

and the rest of class 1a as well as all the other students and heroes havent been decided yet

some backgroundy stuff for some of the characters and vague plot ideas are under the cut if you wanna check it out  (〃･ω･)ﾉ~☆･ﾟ+｡*ﾟ･.+

Mido-dad was a traveler from the Fire Nation visiting the Earth Kingdom and met Mido-mom. They got married and had Izuku, but while dad wanted to keep traveling the world, mom wanted to stay, so they separated. Izuku was born a fire bender. (If it’s a thing that the avatar is born in the nation or whatever, then the Midoriyas went to the Fire Nation to like visit the father’s homeland and stuff, and Izuku was born there. Inko got really homesick there, though, so when the father wanted to start traveling around again, Inko realized that she wouldn’t be able to follow him.)

Endeavor is the Fire Lord or something, and since he knew the next avatar was going to be a fire guy, he really wanted one of his own kids to be the next avatar and was somehow deluded into thinking that if he had a kid with another element bender, that would increase the chance of that happening. Todoroki Shouto was born a water bender like his mom. Endeavor would try to force Todoroki to fire bend, and one of these tries causes Todo’s burn, soon after which Endeavor stops trying.

Bakugou’s mom was also a traveler from the Fire Nation, though unrelated to Mido-dad. She falls in love with Baku-dad, an earth bender, and decides to settle down with him and son Katsuki in the Earth Kingdom. The Bakugous and Midoriyas are family friends.

All Might, the previous avatar, actually came from the same town that Izuku lives in, and so he and Bakugou grew up hearing stories of his heroic deeds. There’s a big statue of him in the center of town.

Bakugou and Midoriya learned fire bending from Bakugou’s mom. Bakugou was a fire bending prodigy while Midoriya struggled with it. Perhaps one reason why Bakugou is so mean to Midoriya is that because Midoriya wasn’t as good at fire bending as Bakugou, Bakugou’s mom often put more focus into teaching Midoriya, which would make Bakugou jealous and afraid that Midoriya was taking his mom away. This morphed into Bakugou sometimes thinking that Midoriya was just faking being bad in order to take his mom’s attention from Bakugou, and since Bakugou is too proud to do anything like lower his ability or talk about his feelings, he would try to force Midoriya to do better so that his mom would stop giving Midoriya so much attention. When Bakugou finds out that Midoriya is the avatar, he’s furious.

After fire, the next element Midoriya bends is earth, since he wasn’t around for whatever procedure the Fire Nation does to determine who’s the next avatar and thus no one knows he’s the avatar until he accidentally bends something not fire. Kirishima is friends with Midoriya and Bakugou and they often train together and spar with each other. Midoriya takes a lot of notes on whatever info he can get about the different types of bending out of admiration for All Might as well as sheer curiosity, and he often uses his earth notes to help Kirishima. One time while Kirishima was practicing his earth bending, he invites the two to try it with him, or at least go through the motions, just for fun. Bakugou declines in favor of improving his own fire bending (to become the best fire bender in the world and also maybe to get his mom’s attention again), but Midoriya agrees (it’s one thing to watch the bending and another to try and do it, and it might give more insight into how the movements and forms go).

The antagonist is either All-For-One or Shigaraki, or both, and one of the things they do is take people’s bending away, like one of the antagonists in Korra, I guess.
