Juggling between council duties and his business had been quite hectic recently. To loosen up a bit, the man needed alcohol on his system. At times, he did dress casually like normal folks, leaving the formal attire his fellow council colleagues usually wore. Back in Korea he partied hard in between to destress and it made sense why he wasn’t easily recognized which was the purpose of the whole thing. One thing he noticed was how uneasy guys could be when they realize who he was. “Oh shit, one sec.” He smirked, well he didn’t party without a fake id even if he technically didn’t need one. He pulled one out from his pocket. “I swear I’m old enough to drink alcohol.” He said and showed him an ID named Henry Lee. “See?” He chuckled. “It’s the baby face I’m sure but don’t be fooled.” He winked.

He’d have to give this weird country one thing, and that was that their Aprils were actually warm. Really encapsulated the definition of Spring. Roman had been on FaceTime with his parents back home, the sound of the rainstorm outside loud enough for it to be captured on the low-quality audio. It had been the kick he needed to go out and enjoy the sunshine, a rare day off from both the record store and the station, deciding to see what the much hyped kayak race was all about. It had a good turn out, he’d give them that, noticing a familiar face in the crowd. “Not scared any snakes might come slithering out from the grass?” He asked Maya in greeting as he approached her.

It was always shit when Phoebe had actual work to do. On the busier days, she was usually rushed off her feet, running around the museum to gather whatever Aslihan needed. So, by the time it got to do any paperwork, it was usually getting late. She had no doubt that her boss would want to stay as late as she could in the office, but the museum at night really freaked Phoebe out, so she always did her best to get them out of there before it got too dark.

But then, of course, was the matter of having to catch up at home. Her apartment didn’t really have a work-desk; the vanity table’s surface in the corner of her bedroom filled with skincare and makeup, plus the issue of the room itself being too comfortable. There was always her dining table, but it felt too cold the rare times she sat there. Also, she usually had company with her on a night, and why would she want to unwind from a long day of work by doing more work, when Foster was there and could help her unwind in much more effective ways?

It had eventually led to the paperwork piling so high, she had decided to work non-stop in a neutral place that was neither her office or her apartment. Plus, the Midnight Club had the benefit of being open late. Phoebe set up her laptop, and had set a timer on her phone, deciding to follow a study and work method she had seen on YouTube, before getting lost in the zone for a while. In fact, so lost, she completely failed to realize that she knocked over her mug of tea until there was a gentle shake of her shoulder. “Wha — oh shit. I’m so- Maya?” She asked, smiling as she recognized the woman she hadn’t seen in…months, maybe?. “Hi! Please, sit!” She reached in her purse to grab some Kleenex she had handy, wiping at the table. “Honestly, is my day even complete if I haven’t spilled something somewhere?”
