2nd person. GN reader. [A/n]: this is it, the final part of Loving Touches! Very happy with the collection, and it helped me get back into writing proper. Now this one is finished, I'll be focusing on other events and stuff for a bit, but I'll debut a new drabble collection soon (although probably not demon slayer). An updated version of the Masterlist will be added soon as well, but since this is a queued post, I can only do so after this one is posted. Enjoy!!

There were so many reasons why you loved Kyojuro. The man was practically a walking green flag, from the way he managed to find good in almost any situation without making a joke out of it, to the way he seemed to live life to the fullest. The quirky way he enjoyed his meals and the way he managed to leave a lasting -and positive- impression on about everyone he met made him uniquely him and you loved every last bit of it.

On top of that, he was a fantastic partner. The way he would make your days brighter, even when you weren’t feeling great, the way he would take care of you if you were sick, the way he would boast your confidence and general mood, just by being his amazing and encouraging self, it never ceased to amaze you. 

He was also your biggest cheerleader, ready to support you in whatever you wanted to do with your life. There was no judgment about your dreams at all. If it was something you wanted to do, something that would make you happy, then who was he to stop you from working towards it? Sometimes it would feel as if he was even more excited about you reaching goals than you yourself were. He’d ask about your progress, hear you out whenever you wanted to talk, or even vent about it. And whenever you were feeling really proud, he’d just hold you with the most perfect, tightest hug. Depending on your enthusiasm, he’d sometimes just lift you up and spin you around a couple of times, he just couldn’t contain the happiness he was feeling for you. It made your head spin and your heart overflow, holding tight onto the man you loved more than anything else in life.

Welcome to Round 1 of the Wasted Woman Poll, the tournament to see which fridged woman deserved better!

Thank you everyone for your patience for Round 1 to begin. Now that the semester is over, I finished the list of match-ups for the Round 1 bracket.

There were 89 contestants for this tournament. Anyone familiar with tournaments knows that it doing a 89-contestant, single-elimination tournament would be annoying. Rather than cutting out 25 contestants to make it a 64-contestant tournament, I opted to use the format of a 64-contestant tournament, just with some of the poll in Round 1 (a majority of them, actually) being three-way polls with a single winner rather than solely two-way polls. So out of the 89 contestants going into Round 1, only 32 will go on to Round 2. Many of the listings in Round 1 will be characters from the same series going against each other, so that the future rounds will be more varied.

The tournament will be split into 4 sets of 8 polls each, with every poll running for a whole link. Below the cut will be the list of match-ups for each set and when the polls will premiere.

If there are any mistakes at all (spelling, if a character appears twice, if the media someone is listed under is incorrect, etc.) please let me know! I did double-check it, but I'm only human so errors do happen.

I’m selective in a way that I will write only what I see happening for my muse ( so, if you’re an OC, then I'll have a look at your about page and/or would like to come talk about your character in DMs if you don't mind telling me a bit about them, and if you’re from another fandom, then I will write with your muse if I see how our muses could click… that said, I'm very open and welcoming of crossovers and simply adore OCs ) and what I have inspiration for at the moment.

I also have anxiety and occasional ( sometimes pretty long, sometimes short ) bouts of writing block, so I may be slow with replies / have impromptu hiatuses.

30 -  do  you  have  any  fandoms  that  you  avoid  writing  within ?

Yes and no. First and foremost, when I’m looking to follow new blogs, I look at writing style, a blog’s dash, and a blog’s rules and muse info pages. Do we have a compatible writing style (longer threads, okay with queued replies, okay with less dashcomm at least at first?)? Is the dash clean and mostly IC/aes/character-related OOC and less like a combined mun and muse blog? Are the rules ones I can follow and is there more to a muse page than just a few bullet points or link to a wiki? 

Before I even think about fandom, I’m thinking about those first.

But considering fandoms, I usually stay away from anything too high fantasy (think Lord of the Rings, a lot of isekai stuff) and very tech-oriented sci-fi, especially sci-fi shows/series set in space. I just don’t really see Sonia fitting in there nor do I want to try for a verse that makes her fit there. But mostly? I avoid blogs in fandoms where the mun expects me to know whatever muse and series they’re from backwards and forwards. And this includes a lot of popular shows/franchises: almost all video games (despite writing a video game muse, I’m not much of a gamer beyond a few things!), BNHA, Demon Slayer, JJK, Naruto, Bleach, etc. I mostly gave up trying to keep up with every new show 12-13 years ago or so. A lot of my favorites are older shows/franchises. I’ve only watched the Persona 4 and 5 anime series, even: those games are way too complicated for me to try and play (because, heh, I tried and got annoyed. I’m not good with gameplay in most video games! Give me a visual novel/otome game to read and I’m content).

But! If a blog is more than happy to work with me on a general modern or historical verse instead of something very rooted in their own fandom’s lore? Or they have a DR crossover verse? I’m usually very happy to work with that! The only series I really don’t like that I’ve been followed for before are Death Note and Attack on Titan. Death Note is one of my least favorite anime/manga franchises ever and I just didn’t enjoy AoT. 

I sort-of avoid fandoms with real people as faceclaims too, mostly because a lot of the RPC, I’ve noticed, doesn’t want to mix anime/drawn FCs and real life FCs? But I found a Simon Basset/Duke of Hastings blog in the Bridgerton tag yesterday and it took a lot of restraint not to follow. Blogs from my favorite historical dramas? Sign me the hell up.

That said, I’m so glad @somnium-delicata​ is in my life. For all the fandoms I don’t know, the squeal I made was not human when I saw Rose of Versailles and Innocent muses. And I’m learning a lot about Nadja now, too!

Anime/manga wise, my kingdom for a Lupin III crossover on this blog. If I could make a Cowboy Bebop crossover work, I’d love that too. And I have some otome multimuse blogs I really should start some new threads with!

Witch The Vote: A Corbyn Victory Spell

Hex-breakers and justice-seekers: the UK general election takes place in a week’s time, on the night of the full moon (Thursday 12th December). After ten years of crushing austerity, we defy more Tory rule. We refuse to cede to their greed and their cruelty. We refuse them our labour, our land and our lives. And so we invite you to join us in a mass, remote spell to witch the vote, and bring about a Corbyn victory. 

We will do this over seven consecutive days, starting tonight: Thursday 5th December. Don’t worry if you can’t commit to joining us on all seven nights; the key date is election night itself. Join us online using the tags #WitchTheVote2019 and #WitchesForCorbyn 

Suggested ingredients and directions are as follows. Feel free to supplement or substitute according to your personal, respective practice and preferences. The important thing here is the intention (a Labour/Corbyn victory) and the time: start this spell promptly at 8:30pm, and aim to finish at 9:00 pm. Having a small clock or timer nearby will help. 

• A red candle (red for Labour. Also: power; authority; victory; good fortune). White will also work in a pinch – even a tea light. Its intention that really matters here. 

 • A red thread, ribbon or cord, long enough to knot seven times. Again, white or twine, etc will work in a pinch. 

• Herbs and/or oils you associate with wish fulfillment, positive outcomes and victory e.g High John the Conqueror; Cinnamon; Dandelion; Bay Leaf.   

• Images and objects you associate with the Labour party, its ideals and its leader: a red rose; a rosette; flyers; party membership card; newspaper clipping of Corbyn, etc 

• Images, icons and objects you associate with justice, liberation and change, to decorate your altar/space with. I’ll be using The Sun card, since it represents victory, rebirth, positive change and personal leadership, but Justice, Temperance and Death would also be fitting. Dr. Kate Tomas suggests invoking Aldebran, a fixed, celestial being who channels power and victory over evil. Aldebran is associated with Arch Angel Michael, the dragon-slayer. 

• Incense. I’ll be burning orange (for joy), bay (for wishes and victory) and ginger (to ‘hot’ the spell up and overpower negative energy) 

Follow or omit the following steps where applicable to your personal practice/path/tradition: 

• Ground yourself 

• Cast your circle 

 • Light your incense 

 • Call the quarters and/or invoke your chosen deity(ies)/spirits/guides/ Give/send up any offerings you may have for them and ask that they aid this magical working 

• Carve the candle with the words (or initials for) ‘Prime Minister Corbyn’, and below this, an ‘X’ to symbolize the winning mark. Say: “With this X, we anoint our new Prime Minister: Jeremy Corbyn.” 

• Anoint/surround/imbue the candle with your chosen oils and/or herbs and light the wick. 

 • Now for the crux of it: hold the ribbon in both hands while you gaze into the flame. As you gaze, visualize a Labour victory. Visualize voters queuing up in droves to vote for Labour. Visualize this happening every day for the next week. Visualize the ballot boxes filling to the brim with Labour votes. Visualize the results being announced once the tally is counted: Labour wins! Labour wins! Labour wins! Visualize Corbyn as our new Prime Minister, cheering and grinning, surrounded by supportive colleagues and campaigners. Visualize the celebrations, the joy and the relief of thousands. Visualise him walking into 10 Downing Street to take his seat of power, waving cheerfully as he goes. Visualize him being interviewed by the press about how he will use his power as Prime Minister. Visualize him speaking truth to power, manifesting justice and equality. Visualize him undoing the cruelty and crimes of the previous government, banishing the opposition, starving them of power. Visualize him righting wrongs, draining the poison, planting seeds in our long-barren, now replenished soil. Visualize his name writ large on the front page of every UK newspaper: Prime Minister Corbyn! Prime Minister Corbyn! Prime Minister Corbyn! 

• Hold this vision of victory in your mind until it feels true and real and tangible. Let it bloom and expand, let it grow substantial and take root. Let it manifest. To bind the vision, make a knot at one end of the cord, saying as you tie it: “By the powers of justice and equality/a Corbyn win, so mote it be.” 

• Thank your deities/spirits/guides; snuff out the candle and the incense; close the circle; ground yourself. 

• Perform this spell every night for the next seven nights, using the flame and the cord to bind your/our intention. On the final night – election night – knot the ends of the cord together to create a circle and complete the spell. Carry the cord with you until the results are announced the following day. And DON’T FORGET TO VOTE! Poll stations close at 10:00pm. Take photo ID if you have it. 

Please note: this isn’t a binding. The intention here is to focus on and help bring about a Labour win rather than a Tory lose. Yr more than welcome to perform a binding beforehand, if you wish. It all counts!

Here’s the blog orientation post I first wrote for midnight new year’s eve 2017, and then decided it were prolly best revised and reposted at least semianually. (Semiannual means twice a year. Biannual means you like both leap years and non-leap years.) I don’t recall whether I’ve ever actually been asked about any of this but you could call it the blog FAQ. Only the latest version of this post is tagged faq.

The name of my tumblog comes from my webcomic The Hero of Three Faces: fanfiction, but it’s comic strips with stick figures, but they’re triangles. Primary focus is on Doctor Who crossovers, because Doctor Who is my favorite, because I love crossovers, and because there’s no better literal and literary device for crossovers than a time machine. The rest of the top tier of my fandom pantheon is Star Trek (all series), Superman and superheroes (primarily screen rather than comics these days), M*A*S*H, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Star Wars, but anything I watch or read might turn up in Three Faces. Including my own concluded King Arthur webcomic, Arthur, King of Time and Space. Well, I call them comic strips, but the site navigation is a panel-per-page format to better simulate the motion picture media whence come most of the characters; there’s a navigation tutorial on the Three Faces site here.

In the morning at 10:00 (all times US Central) I queue a link post to the day’s new cartoon on the Three Faces main site, which usually appears there around 19:00 the previous day. During the summer I take a hiatus at Three Faces, and there won’t be morning cartoon links, nor on days during the regular season if I don’t get a new cartoon up. I usually say cartoon or comic strip rather than comic as in the current internet vernacular, but only usually. At 22:00 every day I post links to “reruns”, cartoons in the archive. Well, sometimes I forget, but rarely now that I’ve figured out how post scheduling works. I’d have to have also forgotten to schedule the following morning’s new cartoon link. It’s happened (though usually I seem to realize it’s happened in time to schedule the following morning link at least). Initially I labeled rerun links to differentiate them from new cartoon links but I didn’t keep it up, but you can tell the difference from posting time.

On this blog mostly I load my queue but sometimes an entry or reblog will be posted in realtime, if I’m signal-boosting something time sensitive or if it’s a dialog with someone or if I just feel like it, or sometimes I’ll queue it and then bump it to the beginning of the queue. How often the queue fires varies: at least once a day - usually at least twice a day - I set my queue‘s daily post number to around the amount of posts presently in the queue, so that the queue’s continually set to run out over the next twenty four or thirty six hours running, as I scroll and continue to queue. This probably makes it look like I’ve been most active on the days following the days I’ve actually been most active. (Sometimes on Fridays at 18:00 I set the queue to twice whatever’s in it, then set it back at midnight, because Friday night’s for partying.) I’ve never tagged queued posts specially like a lot of people do and since now it’s the default it wouldn’t make sense anyway. If new posts stopped coming, you’d know I’d been hit by a bus or by climate change or something about a day previous to that. Unless the cell towers are gone or I am, you can keep up with me anyway at the Three Faces Twitter linked here or linked from the front page of the Three Faces site.

Aside from my own cartoons and text posts which actually make up a small percentage of posts, I reblog fannish and social justice posts. Reblogging’s not all I do about social justice, but I genuinely believe that circulating progressive ideas in social media is one of the most important ways the ideas will get saturated into the present and up-and-coming generations (I turned sixty December 15) who will be the ones to affect the needed changes. To anyone who would ask, “Why do you have to mix politics in with the Doctor and Captain Kirk and Leia Organa, huh?”, I can only say: You’ve got the cart so far ahead of the horse that line-of-sight is blocked by the horizon. Who do you think I learned these values from?

I use spoilers tag(s) only the first week after premier/debut.

I have an art tags tag with entries explaining and updating how I demark and tag each kind of art I post to Tumblr, mine and others’.

llol means “literally laughed out loud”. I only ever used lol when I literally laughed out loud anyway, but I decided to formalize it. It’s a tag which I use like some people use “laugh rule”.

There are a blogging tag and a me tag for personal entries.

I try to tag a post for those searching the tags whom I think the post would interest, but mostly I try to tag a post or a reblog so I can find it again if I want.

Anonymous asks are enabled because the Three Faces main site hasn’t got a similar function (such are my HTML skills), so the Three Faces main site links here, and I don’t want to exclude any reader from there with a question just because they’re not a Tumblr user. I may delete any ask unanswered when I don’t believe it’s been sent in good faith. Or I may not.

Though about once every eighteen months some new crisis that’s sure to kill Tumblr this time comes along, I don’t mean to stop reading and posting at Tumblr until/unless it putters out like Usenet or becomes intolerable like LiveJournal or becomes less interesting to me than Pillowfort where I signed up last year but barely ever look.
