Emmet grew up without his mom around, he was told that she had passed within the first year of his life and he didn’t question it because he was so young he had no idea if his dad was telling the truth or not

He ended up finding out he was lied to by the time he was 18 which completely destroyed his relationship that he had with his father so emmet moved out almost immediately, couch surfed for a while until he was able to land on his feet again and then chose to continue school when he finally did

He’d had his own apartment until he went back to school and chose the easier option to just live on campus so he packed up everything he couldn’t take or fit in his dorm and rented out a storage unit 

he's going to school for a business degree because he knows eventually he wants to own his own business at some point. for what? he's not sure. he's very much into designing which is why he's at the escape room.

he also likes designing clothes and making them as well so he's tried his hand in fashion design but isn't great at it yet.

his dad was also semi wealthy so cutting him off was a big financial choice hence the living on campus now.
