But this. . regrann from @unclesamsmisguidedchildren 🇺🇸 . Douglas Calhoun, 39, served in the UnitedStatesMarineCorps When he got out, he became a chef. The locals affectionately called him “Chef Doug.” But on June 1, 2017, he disappeared. Chef Doug was out with friends on June 1, and safely arrived home at around 3:30 a.m. He called a friend to let him know he had gotten home safely. The friend told Calhoun’s sister, Dayna Philips, that he said he was ok during the brief call. “Just saying, ‘Okay I’m home, everything’s good. I’m going in the house and I’ll talk to you later.” But something happened and Chef Doug was suddenly missing. He didn’t show up for an important Catering event, nor did he show up for his flight to St Louis on that Saturday. The family reported him missing. His car was found by the family through his GMC Acadia’s OnStar. The neighbors spotted the car with the hatch and doors open in the Brightmoor area. It was located on Thursday that week at an abandoned home on Detroit’s west side. On Friday, June 2, there was fraudulent activity on Calhoun’s credit cards. Purchases made at liquor stores and gas stations in the area, but no sign of Doug. The family was worried sick. On July 7, his body was found stuffed in a sealed barrel at a vacant house. A person of interest has been taken into custody on an unrelated matter. As soon as more information is available, we will let you know. How did i find my way back?

I am at a point in my life where I have a stable job, a loving boyfriend, a complete family, a ministry and yet i don't seem to be completely happy. It is then true that the things of this world can make us truly happy. I have been asking myself, "Anong kulang? Anong problema?" Later did I realize that i have been missing something really important. More important than my job, my ministry, my relationships. Yes, you might have guessed that right - I have been missing time with God.

How can I be so busy, and forget the most important thing in my life? At first, i tend to be in denial. I even came to a point where i became defensive and kept on giving reasons. But today, I have decided to face the struggle. First step was finally admitting to myself that something was not right and then do something about it.

I believe that the Lord speaks through a lot of ways. Aside from His word, i find myself listening to two songs tonight. Let me share with you how God has spoken to me through these songs.

1. Since Your Love - United Pursuit

Whenever i lose my focus, I find myself listening to this song. This song brings me back to my first love - Jesus, and reminds me of His position in my life. He is and forever will be my FIRST love. Being disconnected to Him makes life harder than I think it is. Just when i thought that I have no one to turn to, to count on, He is there, waiting for me to come to Him. People are people, they can never be with us 24/7, listening to all out problems struggles, probably because they also have their own. But God - he never leaves, nor forsakes us. (Heb. 13:5)

2. King of my heart - Bethel 

This song basically reminds of God’s goodness in each and everyone’s life and also gives detail on what He is. 

He is... 

The mountain where I run. The fountain I drink from. The shadow where I hide.  The ransom for my life.  The wind inside my sails. The anchor in the waves. The fire inside my veins. The echo of my days. MY SONG. 

He is good. He will always be. That’s an absolute truth. Now some people think or question His goodness whenever they face trials. It’s hard to comprehend but i believe that is where faith comes in. Faith is believing that He will make something good out of the bad, even if it seems to be impossible. 

I am blessed to have known Him, which makes me say that going back to Him is the best thing to do. It’s the best place to be - in His arms. That way, the things of this world would not define me or my happiness. I will be fully satisfied in His love. Bonus nalang yung natatanggap natin from my family, from Luigi, and from the people who love and care for me.
