With his nightly bottle of watermelon soju already completely finished, wonwoo let out another aggravated sigh as he sat in front of the same empty word document on his macbook. Cursor blinking teasingly at him, he smashed random keys before hearing a small text notification ring from beside him. His eyes looked down at his iphone screen and noticed the text from his publisher, asking when his next book would be ready and if he needed to push back his release date for the third time this year. Truth be told, he had no clue when his new book would be ready for release since he hasn’t even started on it yet. It's been months since his last strike of inspiration and no matter how many dates he went on or how many one night stands he had, they never helped him with his creative loss. He would always hope to feel something, anything. But he always felt the same emotion afterwards: temporary bliss that was soon replaced by the same feeling of loneliness.
after you both separated four years ago, you’ve noticed his books and writing hasn’t been the same. even before he was a successful published author, his work was always full of life and positivity with love spilling off the pages. but his first published book after your breakup was very different and didn’t seem like him at all. sure, you can tell it was him writing from knowing his writing style like the back of your hand but the sadness you felt from reading it out of pure curiosity made you feel heartbroken all over again. although his recent writings were what brought him more popularity, even becoming a New York Times best selling author, you missed all the mushy gushy things he used to write. even his small fan base online were surprised by his sudden shift in genre but were nonetheless surprised and admired his art.
another thirty minutes passed wonwoo by with nothing but the same blank word document teasing his lack of creativity. it wasn’t till his phone continuously buzzed when he was brought out of his daze and noticed a call incoming from his publisher. he debated on picking up the call, but decided to after realizing he’d rather talk to anyone than deal with his writers block.
“hello?” wonwoo answered as he picked up the phone, hearing an automatic sigh of relief from the man.
“i’ve been texting you for two days and haven’t heard anything, thought you were dead or something.” jeonghan, his publisher, joked on the other end. jeonghan wasn’t just a publisher but also one of his closest friends from high school who has stuck by him ever since they met. both of them meeting seemed like destiny, and to this day they both are convinced that’s true.
“just been busy is all.” wonwoo replied in a monotone voice, resting his head in the palm of his free hand as his elbow propped up on his desk. he wiggled his nose up to further push up his frames, ultimately using his pinky finger to do so since he failed at his first attempt.
“how far along are you with the new book? everyone’s waiting for something new from you, it’s been almost a year.” his friend and publisher spoke, his irritation and concern seeping through the phone.
a deep sigh was heard from the writer, his fingers tapping on his cheek as if in thought. “i don’t know, man. i really don’t. my writer's block is winning right now and i- i don’t know.”
“you have two weeks, wonwoo. that’s when the next meeting is. please, i’m begging, at least have a little something by then.”
wonwoo hummed in agreement, saying he would try his best to do so before hanging up with a goodnight. he threw his phone on the bed behind him, running a hand through his hair afterwards to soothe his thoughts in any possible way. a knock on his door interrupted any new worries attempting to sneak their way into his brain, making his eyes dart to his desk clock and realizing he had scheduled a hookup with someone he met on tinder a while back. how he forgot about getting laid tonight he doesn’t know, but he didn’t hesitate to run to the bathroom and quickly fix himself before going to open the door to get on with his nightly activities.
it was two a.m. and there wonwoo sat, a stranger sleeping in his bed with their back facing him as he played with their hair mindlessly in thought. every time he was with someone, his mind endlessly wandered to you. thinking back to all the memories you both shared together through the years and curious as to how you were doing nowadays. but he never dared to reach out, scared that you had him blocked or even worse: would leave him on read. as sadistic as it may seem, he always imagined you were the one laying next to him snoring peacefully or you were the one riding him through the night instead of all these random people.
that’s when an idea struck him: you. how did he not think of this sooner? with his writer's block now lifted, he quietly shuffled out of bed in his red and black boxers over to his desk to snag his laptop and move into his spare bedroom that he always referred to as his ‘writing headquarters’. a tired smile spread across his lips as he finally typed out every thought he had. and although he felt tired, he also felt very energetic from finally being able to start and hopefully finish his new book. he just hoped it would be liked and loved by many, and hopefully you wouldn’t be upset with him for it.
-
as the meeting came to a close, everyone reassured how well wonwoo’s new book would be and how much of a best seller it was sure to be. the kind words brought a proud smile to his face, making him look like a giddy twenty year old who’s discussing his first potential publication when in reality it would be his fifth. jeonghan gave his friend a comforting hug as they left the conference room, telling him how great of a job he was doing in his career and how he surprises him with each new book of his.
“just one thing though.” jeonghan said as he pulled back, placing a firm hand on his shoulder. “do you think y/n will appreciate this? is it going to be an issue for them?”
the writer thought for a moment, not really thinking too deeply about the fact of his new upcoming publishing. “i don’t see a problem with it, to be honest. and i didn’t mention their name at all, so i don’t think they’ll care much. hopefully.”
-
you sat down with your cup of coffee across from your closest friend, vernon. you’ve known him since you were younger, your mothers being friends since childhood and always having a pact to have children who grew up to be best friends just like them. luckily enough for them, it came true. and now here you two were: best friends and roommates. he knew everything about you, every little detail. as did you about him. that’s why when he picked up his pre-ordered copy of wonwoo’s new book, the details of the love story seemed all too familiar.
“have you read his new book?” he asks as he waves his paperback copy in his hand, causing you to look up from the flower foam art in the mug.
you shook your head, letting out a small laugh. “no. why would i read my ex's new book for?”
“because i’m pretty sure the new book is about you two, your story and shit.” vernon’s words almost made you choke on the sip of coffee you just drank, your eyes widening at him.
“excuse me? what do you mean ‘our story’?”
your best friend flipped open the book to a specific part he purposely bookmarked with a post it note to show to you, pointing to the specific paragraph. “here he describes how the two protagonists meet, which is freshman year college orientation.” he nudged your arm with his elbow as you leaned over the table to read the paragraph.
every detail was just how you remembered the night you met wonwoo. down the the mainstream music bumping through the speakers that you couldn’t stand to hear with a red solo cup full of red punch instead of alcohol because you couldn’t stand the taste of strong liquor. he even described the way your eyes met his between the busy bodies of the crowd, and the conversation with both of your individual friends being drowned out from your pure concentration on one another from across the room.
“maybe it’s just a coincidence.” you bluffed, hoping if you denied it it would be true. but everyone knew that wasn’t true in the slightest, especially vernon.
“bullshit.” he scoffed, turning to another page with a blue sticky note on it. “i first thought the same thing, but here he describes your first date together. and that’s kind of hard to make up considering how hectic it was from start to finish.”
you read the entirety of the page, skimming through it with your mouth hanging slightly open at the accuracy. you and wonwoo’s date was supposed to be a simple movie night at his place, but that was the same night that his roommate started a fire which made you two switch over to your place. but just as the movie was starting, your roommate came rushing in drunkenly crying about some guy that broke her heart and how she needed you. when you described she was on a date, she cried even harder and locked herself in the bathroom which led to her falling asleep in the bathtub that night. and, as if the night couldn’t get any inconvenient, wonwoo needed to use the bathroom so you both ultimately decided to just go out somewhere and eat. but with both of you being broke college students, all you could afford was to share a large menchie’s frozen yogurt.
by the time you both arrived there, they had ten minutes till closing. the book described the daggers the high schoolers sent you as you rushed to compromise on flavors and toppings. even the mix of flavors and different toppings were ones you remembered getting that night, so at this point you stopped reading and sat back down in your seat to take an angry sip of your newly warm drink. vernon shut the book slowly, a grin of ‘i told you so’ plastered across his face.
“what the fuck.” was all you could manage to say before letting out a drastic sigh. “did you finish it? how does it end?”
he shoved the book and his half eaten sandwich into his bag before responding to you. “exactly how you guys broke up. you know,” he started, pausing to take in a deep breath. “you should talk to him. see why he basically aired both of your businesses to the world.”
you nodded, finishing off your coffee and slinging your tote bag over your shoulder. “lucky for me he’s having a book signing later today so i’ll just go there-“
“y/n, don’t cause a scene.” vernon recommended, placing a cautious hand on top of yours.
but you pulled it away, smiling down at him sarcastically. “yeah, yeah. i’ll try.”
-
later that night you did as you said you would: attend your ex's book signing at the local bookstore in the city. it was cute, small, and a place you and wonwoo frequented all throughout your college years. but now with both of you being in your early thirties and no longer together, it was just a store you passed on your way home to the train station filled with distant memories. you listened to the people around you talking amongst one another about wonwoo, claiming him to be their favorite author and how this is one of his best works yet. some even said how much of an ideal man he seemed to be, going as far to call him perfect. you couldn’t help but smile to yourself, letting a quiet chuckle escape here and there.
you noticed his demeanor change once you stepped in front of his table, switching from a cheerful one to a calm one in an instant. you smiled at him annoyed, asking if he could sign your book. he just just nodded, not a word being said from him.
“how dare you, wonwoo?” you whispered, biting down on your inner cheek to keep you from raising your voice and causing a scene.
he finished signing with his silver sharpie, looking up at you with a smile you couldn’t quite read to throw off those around you two. “stay after the signing, i’ll explain. i promise.” he responded, nodding along as if he were answering a fan-type of question.
you just nodded, thanking him kindly and walking away while telling him how you enjoyed the read. but in reality, you wanted to just yell at how he shared your intimate details with the world. sure, no one except both of your closest friends and family members would know that it’s both of your stories but still. just the thought of them knowing deeper parts of your first real relationship with your first love made your skin crawl. you kept those memories to yourself so no one could take them away from you, but here jeon wonwoo was doing all that work for you.
as you walked away, you noticed jeonghan and walked over to him since he just stood there on his phone. you still talked to him here and there, just small little messages of ‘hope you’re well!’ and occasional likes of instagram stories and tweets. he smiled seeing you, holding out his arms for a hug and you obliging.
“your client is an asshole.” you mumbled into his shoulder, earning a small laugh from him.
he just nodded, rubbing your back as you both pulled away. “i told him to ask you, i guess he didn’t?”
you shook your head, rolling your eyes as you shoving the freshly signed book into your tote bag. “i haven’t heard from him since the breakup. that’s why i'm so shocked and angry, han.”
you soon felt a hand on your shoulder, looking up to see the man you couldn’t wait to give a piece of your mind. you glared at him as his eyes softened, grabbing your wrist gently and pulling you to a back room they reserved for artists when they came to the bookstore for such events. jeonghan just watched as he crossed his arms over his chest, shaking his head and scoffing as he walked away to talk to grab himself a much needed large iced americano.
as soon as the door closed behind you both, you threw your bag on the small couch beside you and stared at him with distaste. “how fucking dare you!” you yelled, pointing at his chest causing him to start backing up. “how dare you air out our relationship like that for the world to read?”
he continued backing up, his arms up in the air to display his mercy. “i understand how fucked up it seems but-“
“but what? you ran out of ideas and decided to use our story for a good book idea instead?” by this time wonwoo was backed up into a wall, his arms still in the air for defense. “our relationship wasn’t-“
“i know what our relationship was and wasn't, y/n. you don’t need to tell me.” his voice raised a bit in volume, making you swallow hard. he almost never yelled, so even hearing it today still made you surprised. “you know for every single one of my writings you’ve been my inspiration behind them. every single one. i haven’t wrote for almost an entire year because i’ve missed you so much until i just- i missed you so much that i just wrote about us. and i’m sorry if you took it the wrong way but fuck.” he paused, running his hands through his hair as he looked down at the floor then back up at you once more. “i miss you. i know it’s been four years but i still can’t get over you and, and i don’t know what came over me. i guess me writing about us helped me with my writers block. so much so that i even started on my second book already-“
you shook your head as your eyes stared into his. “im just shocked, is all. pissed off, yes. but because you didn’t run it by me. you could’ve easily texted me or something, won. you know that.”
he swallowed, biting down on his lip in embarrassment. “i just got scared you’d block me or something. i’m sorry, i truly am. if you want i can have the books pulled from the shelves, i wouldn’t mind. id just have to talk to jeonghan about it.”
another shake of your head, this time a foolish smile accompanied by it. “no, it’s fine. i just wanted an explanation as to why you did it, is all.” your eyes wandered from his eyes to his hair, noticing a few poking greys. you raised your hand to it, playing with it between your fingers. “you’re getting old, grandpa.”
he laughed, swatting your hand away in a playful manner. “you’re not too far off.”
your eyes landed on one another’s again, making you both hitch your breaths in your throats. if anything, wonwoo was more handsome than the day you had met him all those years ago. and you’d be lying if you said you regretted breaking things off with him. at the time, your insecurities were out of whack causing you to overthink. it even made you assume wonwoo wasn’t as interested in you as before, ultimately leaving you to break up with him so he could ‘find better’. but truth be told he never could, because you were all he needed and vice versa. you tried dating, you really did. but nobody ever compared to him, not even close. and you wanted to reach out to apologize and potentially mend the relationship, but you knew if he had moved on it would hurt you. because you couldn’t be just friends with someone you were still utterly in love with, it’d hurt too much and you weren’t getting any younger.
you cleared your throat, wonwoo following suit which made the atmosphere between you both even more awkward than previously. you noticed the blush on his cheeks, smiling at him proudly. “i find it cute how i can still make you blush after all these years.”
he rolled his eyes, cocking his head to the side. “and i find it cute how flustered you still get around me.”
you let out a soft giggle, taking a few steps back to widen the gap before reaching your hand out to grab his. both of your fingers intertwined automatically, melting together as if they never left. you started walking towards the exit of the room, not saying a word until wonwoo questioned you.
“where are we going?”
“that old diner we went to all the time is still open, i wanted to take you.” you responded, pausing in front of the door and turning back to look at him. “unless you’re busy?”
he shook his head violently, making you laugh. the small wrinkles by your eyes made his heart skip a beat, taking note of the subtle aging in your skin. regardless, he still found your beauty mesmerizing. “for you i’m not. i'd prefer frozen yogurt though.”
for the rest of the night, you both caught up on each other's lives. talking to him was really easy, almost as if you were still best friends and partners. you both shared the same large frozen yogurt you always did all those years back, your noses scrunching at the odd combinations of reese’s peanut butter syrup and bubble gum flavored froyo. but the evening was nice and cool, making you both feel like those eighteen year olds that were still helplessly falling for each other. except you were now thirty-two and still helplessly falling for one another, except it was all over again.

୨୧ — s.r x singer!r; headcanons (1)
pairing: post prison!spencer x singer!reader
feeding into my daydreams..
also, this was prompted by scrolling through radiant-reid's spencer x famous!reader posts which i love because they simply fuel my daydreams even more :)) enjoy !
probably met on a case or something of that sort. he also studied in la at one point so they possibly could have met through a mutual friend but tbh her being a target is most likely!
penelope is obviously a very big fan. like out of all the people on the team, she's probably the one who listens to y/n's music the most, maybe even went to one of her concerts
oh my god just think about the sweet little love songs. :'(( ugh imagine spence getting all flustered when it gets released and the whole team is just playing the song 24/7 to tease him
most likely didn't have any social media beforehand. but after dating y/n he decided to get instagram or maybe twitter just to see her posts and literally only post her on his feed because she's just so pretty and cute to post
oh my.. imagine the fans the first time y/n ever posts a photo of spencer in a photo dump !! and his reaction to all the comments and tweets, he's just so confused why people want him to hit them with a truck he's like ??? "that would be fatal, why would they thank me for that?"
also yes this is post prison reid because he was just 10x hotter than he already was once he was released. argue with the wall.
guys !! award shows with spencer !! that would be everything !!
he would be so supportive of every win too :(( even if you were only nominated or just there to perform he would still be so so proud as if you did win something
he's for sure for sure the first person to hear every song. unless it's about him. those one's are usually a surprise.
ugh imagine putting a soundbite of him somewhere in a song. maybe at the end or beginning and it's just a small bit of a voicemail or video that you two filmed together just having fun. or possibly something spicy but... shhhhhhhhh
comes to every fitting, every rehearsal. hell, maybe even on tour as well if he gets time off from the bau. especially since he would already be used to the whole 'flying around every other day' thing from cases.
whenever they have a case in california he always always makes sure to stay behind a few days to hang out with you especially because him being in dc and always travelling for work would mean long distance
and if you're not on tour you decide to stay in dc for a while or even move there (while still having property in california) so that you get to be with him anytime he's home
having a concert in dc !! ofc he invites everyone (as if garcia wasn't already planning on going anyway lmaoo) so they could all see and probably meet you
if this is pre prison!reid, and hotch was still unit chief, he would for sure give spence a whole lecture about how careful he has to be with dating somebody with such a high profile profession, because he knows how high risk celebrities are to stalkers and home invasions
the whole team is very very supportive of them though, even if it's long distance because they find a way to make it work.
also best believe she gets spence an actual iPhone as a gift so that they can facetime when either one of them is away
him playing the piano in one of your songs awhhhh :( and he has writing or producing credits on it
you already know that whoever is driving puts on y/n's music just to tease him. ESPECIALLY IF IT'S A SPICY SONG ehehehe
ugh but if it's a really sad song for example "decode" by sabrina carpenter (which is absolutely heartbreaking lyrically but i highly recommend u listen to it) he gets all sad because he knows exactly what it's about and remembers when you first wrote it
ok i have to stop myself before i go absolutely ham on headcanons. i have so many thoughts about this trope.
hope u enjoyed !

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Date: February 24, 2000 Platform: PlayStation 2 / Xbox / Dreamcast / Arcade / Xbox 360 Games Store / PlayStation Network (PS3) / iPhone / iPad Developer: Capcom / Capcom Production Studio 1 / Backbone Entertainment Publisher: Capcom Genre: Fighting Theme: Fantasy / Martial Arts / Superhero / Comic Book Franchises: Marvel vs. Capcom / Capcom Versus / Marvel / Street Fighter X All Capcom / SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS / SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighter's Clash 2 Expand Edition Also known as: MVC2 Type: Reimanging
Summary:
Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes is a 2D tag-team fighting game developed and released by Capcom for the arcades (running the Dreamcast-based Sega NAOMI hardware) on February 24, 2000.
The fourth installment of the Marvel vs. Capcom crossover series, the game doubles the roster of its predecessor (including new additions and returning fighters) while adding new 3-on-3 gameplay and simplified controls (two punch buttons, two kick buttons, and two assist buttons). It also brings back the classic "assist attack" system (sans "partners") while adding a new "snapback" attack (a close-ranged attack that, if hit successfully, swaps the opponent's character with another). A unique aspect of the game is its use of experience points for each arcade machine that increments by playtime, determining how many characters and alternate costumes are unlocked.
One of Capcom's earliest fighting games developed outside of their arcade hardware, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 combines 2D hand-drawn sprites with 3D backgrounds (a style later used for Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium). It is the last game in the series to use hand-drawn sprites for its characters.
The game was later released for the Dreamcast throughout 2000 (March in Japan, June in North America, and July in Europe), adding a new system of "purchasing" the locked characters/costumes with accumulated playtime (and trading them using the VMU). The Japanese version of the game also includes online multiplayer and the ability to use VMUs with the arcade version (where players can use their unlocked characters and earn experience points). It was later ported to the PlayStation 2 (in September 2002, with the Japanese version including online multiplayer) and Xbox (in September 2002 for Japan and March 2003 for North America).
It was later ported (by Backbone) as a digital release for the Xbox 360 (via Xbox Live Arcade on July 29, 2009) and the PlayStation 3 (via PlayStation Network on August 13, 2009). This version includes online multiplayer (including a six-player lobby system), various graphical options (including widescreen support), support for custom soundtracks, and all content unlocked from the start. The original console version was ported to iOS devices on April 25, 2012 (adding touch controls). These ports were removed from their respective storefronts on December 2013.

From Biting Apples to Embracing Galaxies: My Switch to Samsung
Tumblr media
For more than a decade, I've always been using the Apple eco-system. My first modern phone was the iPhone 5 in 2012 and it lasted for a couple of years until I upgraded to the iPhone 10 in 2017 after convincing my father that my phone was dying.
The proof: this photo of my phone bricking every 20 minutes when installing a new iOS when I was in university.
instagram
As time passed, the iPhone X has survived numerous trips overseas, journalism jobs, freelancing gigs, concerts, and dating attempts. But like all tech devices, this one is about to reach its end after an incident where it wouldn't turn on properly when it was being charged.
I had two options: wait for the iPhone 15 to come out or move to Samsung. And based on the article, it's quite obvious what happened next.
One last bite of the Apple - why I love the iPhone
Moving to a Galaxy device has to be the hardest decision I've ever made. My original plan was to save $2000 for a brand new Apple product because the Apple ecosystem is pretty good. I can copy a link or photo on my phone and paste it on my Macbook. Airdrop is pretty convenient. Also, my entire family became Apple snobs ever since the release of Airpods. Also, since I moved out from home, Facetime became the most used method of communication between family members because it was instant.
Another cool feature that the iPhone has is that is very easy to customize. From having an Animal Crossing dark mode theme phone to selecting a case, the choices are ripe for the picking.
Lastly, it's just very easy to use. Unless you're planning to do some complicated stuff like jailbreaking, using an iPhone as an everyday device is very simple. Left it somewhere? Use the "Find my phone" app and annoy the heck out of those who try to steal it. Want music? Drop the file into iTunes and it will sync via iCloud. It's that versatile.
But as my phone was quickly on its final breath, as well as the cost of living crisis, waiting for the iPhone 15 was no longer a valid option anymore. So I had to say goodbye to these nifty features and swap to Samsung.
What it was like making the switch
instagram
I bought the Samsung zFlip 4 during the End of the Financial Year sale, without realising that the zFlip 5 would be released 2 months later. Big oof. The reason I got this phone is because the 512 GB model cost $1300 AUD. The case was $10 from Telstra. I got a cuter one for $100 from Caseify.
If I were to buy the iPhone 15 (or in my case, the iPhone 14 Pro), the 512 GB model would have cost me $2400 + the cost of a case and the cable for the highest speeds. In case you were unaware, the 15 models only come with USB 2 speeds. WTF?! Also, there are the MagSafe accessories like chargers, which would cost even more.
Tumblr media
The reason I chose to get the Samsung zFlip 4 is mostly because it's a flip phone and Samsung marketed it as "bending the laws of physics." Another reason is because of BTS. As a BTS fan, mostly a Suga stan, I learned that the K-Pop star will not hold Apple devices. I remember seeing a TikTok where a fan disguised her iPhone to look like a Samsung and the rapper was shocked until he held it on stage.
I was, however, warned about getting this Samsung model from my aunt. She told me that the battery life is bad and that Apple lasts longer. And she only uses her phone for the most basic usage - calls, text, and Facebook. But based on my experience, the battery isn't that bad… unless I use it for Pokemon Sleep.
Tumblr media
Transferring my data from an Apple to a Samsung device is easier said than done. For starters, it nearly took a whole day for the transfer process to be completed. Second, I needed to use a wireless charger for one of my devices because it took so long.
When it came to the user interface, while it's somewhat different, some similarities made using my new phone not that difficult. It perhaps took a week to get used to the new functions and gestures.
I also liked the new camera. It's much more vibrant in my opinion. Much better than the iPhone X if I'm being honest. And there were times I did try filming like it was an old camcorder due to its flip functionalities.
If I have a complaint, it's that my game saves (except for Pokemon Go and Sleep) aren't transferable. This means all that effort I've placed in Tiny Tower for a year and a bit is gone and I would need to start over because the game is synced to Apple's Game Center. However, all of my texts since my senior year of high school made their way to the new device. WTF?
Also, not all the apps transferred to the new device, which makes sense since some of them were discontinued. But finding the APKs for them became a challenge, especially for a photo editor that I've been using for years. Thanks to the subscription model, it's been removed from the app stores.
Final Thoughts
Swapping to Samsung was probably a good decision to make. For starters, I'm no longer bombarded by my family's group chat messages since I no longer live with them. Second, I can text my boyfriend photos through NORMAL TEXT, not Facebook and discord. The amount of memes I've missed during the earlier parts of our relationship due to device differences was a massive pain and now it's all convenient.
While it's a shame I no longer have access to Siri, adding songs to a Samsung device is much easier compared to Apple since it is basically like a hard drive.
I will miss the Apple ecosystem though. iCloud and Apple Notes are super handy. Airdrop is pretty cool. And the new iOS features in the latest system look super appealing. However, these features are something that I would rarely use. I just need a phone to play games, go on social media, take photos and videos, and make phone calls. I won't be making 3D models of my room.
Looking forward to spending the next 5 years with this Samsung device until I have to make the switch once more.

As Apple’s latest flagship device, the iPhone 15 has taken the tech world by storm. With its cutting-edge features, revamped design, and impressive specs, it’s no wonder that everyone is buzzing about it. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll delve into everything you need to know about the iPhone 15, from its standout features to its technical specifications and release date.
Design and Build
The iPhone 15 marks a significant departure from its predecessors with a fresh design language. The new model features a sleeker, more streamlined look with rounded edges and a refined finish. The iPhone 15’s design now incorporates a new titanium frame, which not only makes the phone lighter but also enhances its durability. Available in a range of new colors, including Midnight Blue and Starlight Silver, the iPhone 15 is crafted to appeal to various tastes.
The front of the iPhone 15 is dominated by its Super Retina XDR display, which boasts a 6.1-inch size and offers vibrant colors and deep blacks. With a resolution of 2796 x 1290 pixels, the iPhone 15 provides an immersive viewing experience, making it perfect for streaming videos or playing games.
Performance and Processor
At the heart of the iPhone 15 is Apple’s latest A17 Bionic chip. This powerful processor represents a significant leap in performance compared to its predecessors. The A17 Bionic chip is built on a 3nm process, making it more efficient and faster than the A16 Bionic found in the previous generation. Whether you’re multitasking, playing graphically-intensive games, or using augmented reality apps, the iPhone 15 handles it all with ease.
The iPhone 15 also comes with improved RAM management, allowing for smoother performance and better efficiency. This enhancement ensures that even with numerous apps running simultaneously, the iPhone 15 maintains its speed and responsiveness.
Camera System
One of the standout features of the iPhone 15 is its upgraded camera system. The iPhone 15 features a dual-camera setup on the back, comprising a 48MP wide lens and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The primary 48MP sensor captures more detail and color accuracy, making it easier to take stunning photos in various lighting conditions. The ultra-wide lens allows for expansive landscape shots and creative perspectives.
Additionally, the iPhone 15 introduces improved Night mode and Computational Photography enhancements. These upgrades make low-light photography more impressive, with clearer and more vibrant images. The new Photonic Engine boosts the detail and clarity of every shot, ensuring that your photos look professional even without extensive editing.
On the front, the iPhone 15 features a 12MP TrueDepth camera that supports Portrait mode and Night mode. With improved depth perception and facial recognition capabilities, the front camera enhances both selfies and FaceTime calls.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life is always a critical consideration for smartphone users, and the iPhone 15 excels in this area. With its more efficient A17 Bionic chip and optimized software, the iPhone 15 offers up to 20 hours of video playback on a single charge. Apple’s focus on energy efficiency ensures that the iPhone 15 can handle your daily tasks without constantly needing to be plugged in.
The iPhone 15 supports MagSafe charging, which provides a convenient way to wirelessly charge your device. The new model also supports faster wired charging, allowing you to get up to 50% battery in just 30 minutes with a 20W or higher adapter. This blend of charging options ensures that the iPhone 15 keeps up with your busy lifestyle.
Software and iOS 18
The iPhone 15 ships with iOS 18, the latest iteration of Apple’s mobile operating system. iOS 18 brings a host of new features and enhancements designed to make your iPhone 15 experience even better. Key features include improved multitasking capabilities, enhanced privacy controls, and a more intuitive user interface.
One of the notable additions in iOS 18 is the revamped Control Center, which now provides quicker access to essential settings and features. Additionally, the new Focus modes offer greater customization, allowing you to tailor notifications and app usage based on your activities and location.
Connectivity and Other Features
The iPhone 15 supports 5G connectivity, ensuring that you can enjoy faster download and upload speeds wherever 5G networks are available. This improved connectivity is perfect for streaming high-definition content, video conferencing, and gaming.
Another exciting feature of the iPhone 15 is its enhanced water and dust resistance. With an IP68 rating, the iPhone 15 is designed to withstand submersion in up to 6 meters of water for 30 minutes, making it more resilient to accidental spills and drops.
Release Date and Availability
The iPhone 15 is set to hit the market on September 22, 2024. Pre-orders for the iPhone 15 will begin on September 15, 2024, allowing eager customers to secure their device ahead of the official release. In terms of pricing, the iPhone 15 will start at $999 for the base 128GB model, with prices increasing for higher storage options. Apple is also expected to offer trade-in programs and financing options to make the iPhone 15 more accessible to a broader audience.
Conclusion
The iPhone 15 represents a significant advancement in Apple’s smartphone lineup. With its sleek design, powerful performance, and enhanced camera capabilities, the iPhone 15 is poised to be a game-changer in the mobile industry. My Review
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A fantastic college, fake relationship romance with a Cinderella vibe, that will have you swooning into the early morning hours when you cannot put this story down! But this story also has a sinister side with an evil and dangerous stepfather that will have you on the edge of your seat. So buckle up and get ready for an unbelievable ride!
This is “Jockboy“ Grant Bergeron and “ArtGirl” Addie Arceneaux’s journey and I loved every moment to their HEA!
This was full of sweet and sassy banter as they connect through texts, on a UO website. Developing a close connection, but to only lose the connection altogether when Jockboy pushes to meet this girl who has come to mean so much to him. But how will he find “ArtGirl” with no name and sight unseen!
Well…with a meet cute that will have you squirming in your seat when fate finally steps in to bring these two together finally!!! (Even though at the time neither one of them have a clue who the other one really is!!) OMG!!
Get ready for the rush of adrenaline as Grant finally figures it all out and has to find her! My…oh, my, what a glorious meeting this next one turns into.
Get ready for this shy, pure wallflower to meet her Prince Charming and he is one spicy, dirty talking, stud muffin. Swoon!! Grant falls hard for Addie and these two are sugar and spice and everything nice and I couldn’t get enough of their fairytale like journey!
I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

Koei Warriors Retrospective Part 1: Dynasty Warriors 1 & 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dynasty Warriors (三國無双) Platforms: PlayStation Release dates: Japan: 28 February 1997 USA: 27 June 1997 Europe: 10 December 1997 (source)
On 31 May 2024, Dynasty Warriors Origins was announced for a 2025 release. I thought they would have gone the way of the iPhone and named it Dynasty Warriors/Shin Sangoku Musou X in all regions, but it is what it is.
Over the past few years, I've been slowly rekindling my love for Koei Tecmo's Warriors games after leaving the fanbase in 2018 for various reasons including the dumpster fire that was Dynasty Warriors 9. After being delayed for two years because of projects and real life getting in the way, I've finally found an opportunity to begin my Koei Warriors Retrospective, and not too soon as well (at the time of writing).
As I said in my 1000th Post Special that acted as the introduction to this series, I'm going to be reviewing each generation of Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and Warriors Orochi games along with their expansions and spin-offs. Without further ado, let's begin the relaunch of the Koei Warriors Rant Series with the OGs, Dynasty Warriors 1 and 2.
Dynasty Warriors
Dynasty Warriors 1, more commonly known without the number, was originally released in 1997 for the PlayStation 1. It's a fighting game more akin to Street Fighter as each of the buttons perform or block against slashes and thrusts and moves are performed by combining button inputs.
Playing Warriors games for many years has made me accustomed to the format of a button being assigned to a function, plus buttonmashing is my thing, so I wasn't necessarily accustomed to playing fighting games like this. Initially, I tried playing this game a few times but I couldn't get the hang of the controls enough to land enough hits on my opponents, which made me want to reconsider reviewing this game that seriously. As I wrote this review, I got the idea to try performing Musou Attacks in the Practice mode and once I got the hang of it (on top of setting the CPU difficulty to Very Easy and changing the controller settings to make use of the triggers), I was able to fight effectively. Musous can be interrupted or countered, so this is something to note.
The characters introduced in this game are as follows along with the stages during which they appear in (the time of day varies depending on who you play as and against):
Shu - Changban (Yellow)
Zhao Yun
Guan Yu
Zhang Fei
Secret: Zhuge Liang (Wuzhang Plains)
Wei - Guandu (Green)
Xiahou Dun
Dian Wei
Xu Zhu
Secret: Cao Cao (Great Hall, Shang Yong aka Xuchang, like why couldn't you just have used that name)
Wu - Chibi (Red)
Zhou Yu
Lu Xun
Taishi Ci
Secret: Sun Shangxiang
Other - Various (Blue)
Diaochan (Phoenix Palace)
Lu Bu (Hulao Gate)
Nobunaga (Hulao Gate)
Toukichi/Hideyoshi Hashiba (Xuchang)
Typically the format for the game is as follows - you play a character from Kingdom 1, fight against three characters from Kingdom 2, then Diaochan, then against three characters from Kingdom 3, then Zhuge Liang or Cao Cao, and finally Lu Bu for 9 rounds in total. The secret characters can be unlocked by playing the game with all characters, then pressing button sequences on the title screen for Sun Shangxiang, Nobunaga or Toukichi.
The character voices in this game are entirely in Japanese due to it being Koei's first game to be localised to the West. The name display and announcement settings can also be changed in the settings. The Japanese version allows you to select how the character names should be displayed, either with the Kanji only, the Japanese pronounciation or the Chinese transliteration, aka their English names. Both versions allow you to change the announcement from their selection phrase to the character's name in Chinese, or rather, Masaya Onosaka's attempts at saying their names. The Japanese version also adds a female voice saying the character's name in Japanese as an option (either Rika Komatsu or Eri Uwagawa, I'm not too sure). Even with the Chinese voice, Nobunaga's name is still in Japanese and Toukichi's name isn't voiced for some reason in either Chinese or Japanese.
Aside from the 1P Battle (Story Mode) and the 2P Versus modes, there is also a Team Battle Mode (a 3-vs-3 tournament), the Tournament Mode (an 8-character elimination format), a Time Trial Mode (same as 1P Battle but in a time trial format), Endurance Mode (where you defeat as many opponents as you can with one life bar) and finally, Practice Mode, where you can test out characters. Note that your game difficulty settings will not affect the CPU difficulty in the Time Trial and Endurance Modes.
The ending image song for this game, Blue Sky Blue, So Blue, was sung by a Chinese girl group known as Seirei Bishojotai Ceres (聖麗美少女隊セレス), or by its real name, 青春美少女. The group was made up of Liu Ying, Li Yan, Hu Jing, Jiang Zhong Yi and Xin Xin. The writer and composer, Maiko Kikkawa, changed some of the lyrics and finished the song as a self-cover known as Sora no Kakera (そらのかけら), which was used as the first ending theme for the anime series Bomberman B-Daman Bakugaiden in 1998.
The group has been through four generations, with the aforementioned five making up the first generation disbanding in May 1999. Their agents went through quite a few lawsuits back then as their activities were apparently affecting the girls' education. As a result, the second generation only lasted four months before three of them left and had to be replaced, creating the third generation. The fourth generation was formed in 2003 after the disbanding of the third and the current lineup has lasted to this day. Talk about 30-year-old teenagers lol.
I initially thought that this game was difficult until I finetuned the settings and got the hang of it. Anyway, this isn't what I'm really here for, so let's quickly move on to...
Dynasty Warriors 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dynasty Warriors 2 (真・三國無双) Platforms: PlayStation 2 Release dates: Japan: 3 August 2000 USA: 26 October 2000 Europe: 24 November 2000
And so we come to the game that paved the way for the hack-and-slash genre. This game was originally meant to be a sequel fighting game, but it was changed as the genre was becoming more of a niche (not that that stopped Tekken and Street Fighter). With the new game intended to be made for the PlayStation 2, its stronger graphic capabilities allowed battlefields to be realised.
This is normally where I would cover the Xtreme Legends expansions for the mainline games, but given the nature of the first game and the length of that review, I've decided to cover this game as well. Honestly, I was tempted to review each game individually, but the problem with that was what I would do when I got to a game I wouldn't be able to play for this review.
In Japan, this game was released as Shin (True) Sangoku Musou (真・三國無双) while in the West, this game was released as Dynasty Warriors 2. This would begin a numbering tradition where subsequent games in the West would be numbered one more than their original counterpart.
The characters from the last game are carried over to this game with additions to all factions. Adding new characters would become a staple of future sequels and later, spinoff games.
Shu
Liu Bei
Ma Chao
Huang Zhong
Jiang Wei
Wei
Xiahou Yuan
Zhang Liao
Sima Yi
Wu
Sun Jian
Sun Quan
Lu Meng
Gan Ning
Other
Dong Zhuo
Yuan Shao
Zhang Jiao
The main story mode in this game is known as Musou Mode. Characters in Shu, Wei and Wu play the same five stages for each kingdom as follows:
All kingdoms
Yellow Turban Rebellion
Hulao Gate
Shu
Changban
Yiling
Wuzhang Plains
Wei
Guandu
Chibi
Wuzhang Plains
Wu
Chibi
Hefei
Yiling
The battle system for this game is a 4-hit combo system, that is, you can perform up to 4 levels of Normal Attacks by pressing the Square button. At the same time, you can perform up to 4 Charge Attacks by pressing the Triangle button on its own or in conjunction with other attacks. Typically, the C1 breaks enemies' guards, the C2 knocks enemies into the air, the C3 stuns enemies, and the C4 sends the enemy flying away. The Musou Attack is performed by pressing Circle when the gauge is full, which can be filled up with attacks. Guarding, jumping and sidestepping are possible, along with jump attacks, bow attacks and counterattacks. Typically I don't really care for counterattacks because it's so hard to get the timing right, but that's a thing I guess.
Practically all of the new characters debuting in this game have cloned movesets. Most of the sword-wielding characters (including Sima Yi and Zhang Jiao) share their movesets with Liu Bei, while other debutants share movesets with each other. Cloned movesets have been criticised by fans, particularly with their use in future games. I'll elaborate on this in future instalments.
There are two main problems that you can encounter in battle. One of them is that once you hit an enemy, your character will keep going in their direction and you aren't able to rotate towards other enemies around you. This is a phenomenon known as "charge lock" or "lock-on" that would be resolved in future games. The other one is that when you knock enemy officers back, they will typically recover their health, oftentimes recovering their whole life gauge so you have to start all over again. The AI can get fairly aggressive compared to later games, to the point where playing this game on Easy is equivalent to playing on Hard in the modern series games.
In this game, you start with two bodyguard soldiers, but as you level up, you can get up to 8 bodyguard officers. Enemy officers will typically have horses so you can knock an officer off and take their horse to attack, however enemies that you trample dead don't get counted to your KO count. There's also another problem where you can't pick up items on horseback, which is also resolved in future games. As I'm playing the Japanese version of the game, there is no way to save your progress. This capability has been added to Western versions (presumably due to feedback given the gap between releases) by finding memory card items in crates.
After playing with one character from each kingdom, you can unlock Free Mode, which also allows you to play as the other faction in battles (if not already playable through Musou Mode). It's also a good more for grinding character growth, even if you play on Easy and are constantly stuck with +1/+2 boosts. The BGM test feature is also unlocked along with the opening edit movie, which allows you to create a custom opening cutscene montage with different characters. The opening edit feature was inspired by a fan of Xu Zhu who made a fan edit linking together the different ending cutscenes from the first game.
Although I initially believed that Dynasty Warriors 1 and 2 didn't have any English voices, let alone Japanese voices due to most of them being grunts and wails, Dynasty Warriors 2 does include more voiced lines than the first. Where the first game only had officer selection lines and victory lines, the second game adds voices to cinematic movies that appear between battles (different to in-battle events). After looking up some of the names in the English credits, I found out that they were also featured in Japanese-produced English dub works, such as Iron Chef, Shenmue and the Ultra Galaxy Fight series, meaning that this game was dubbed in Japan by a company known as Movie Television Inc. I guess that's the reason why those English voice actors were credited.
This game did not receive much attention and the initial shipment was only for 100,000 copies, with the popularity going to Kessen, which was released earlier that year as a launch title for the PS2. Despite this, Dynasty Warriors 2 ended up selling well through word-of-mouth, a marketing strategy that would prove detrimental when it came to certain decisions being made in later years.
The ending song for this game is Can't Quit This!!! ~ KNOCK'EM OUT ~ by m.o.v.e, which is used in the credits.
Rant: Why localise?
As the Koei Warriors Retrospective is a spiritual sequel to the Koei Warriors Rant Series, I want to include a rant in each mainline instalment. This time, I want to ask the question, "Why localise the games in the first place?"
During the events of 2017, one of my haters made the argument that the target audience for these games is not Westerners, but only Japanese because the market is too shallow and game companies wouldn't make a profit from them if they released their games abroad. Naturally, I called bullshit on that right away, because if that was the case, why would Japanese gaming companies set up international divisions? Why are Japanese gaming franchises popular with Western fans? Why would Japanese gaming companies continue releasing games in the West if they thought it wouldn't make a profit?
See, the argument that "the target audience is only Japanese people" can only be made if a company's offerings aren't regularly being released to the West (preferably by the company themselves and not through third-parties). This is an argument that you can make for tokusatsu, particularly Toei's Super Sentai and Kamen Rider franchises, as uploads of clips and compilations are frequently demonetised and taken down due to them not believing in the Western doctrine of "free use", yet the only Western releases we get are basically a trickle stream with no clear plans for the future, although I wouldn't rule out Hasbro getting in the way even if such plans existed.
"But then why release the games to the West in the first place?" After thinking about it years after, it's very likely that the first attempts at localisation were to test the waters for Western markets, hence why the dub for Dynasty Warriors 2 was produced in Japan before moving to North American studios for future dubs (like most localised Japanese games). When companies continue to release future works to the West, it becomes a habit for the company and an expectation for the fanbase the longer it continues. And as long as the money keeps coming in, it's very unlikely that they will stop localising anytime soon.
However, as I speculate in future instalments, it can be concluded that Koei Tecmo does seem to prioritise the opinions of their Japanese and Asian fanbases more than their Western fanbases. Even with that atypical Japanese sense of xenophobia that foreigners are unfamiliar with, it sometimes does feel that Western fans are being treated like dogs and being fed scraps left by the Japanese companies, even if companies go out of their way to seek the opinions of international fans in future years. At that point, you can probably make an argument about certain fans like community managers and influencers claiming to speak for entire fanbases, but that's an entirely different story and I'm totally not one of those people lol.
In the end, while I do concede that the hater may have had a point (especially given that Tsuburaya has really put Japanese-based English voice actors to work in recent years), I'm not giving him the satisfaction of being correct because he was still wrong about the whole thing. Maybe they might have known better if they kept playing localised Japanese games past the year 2000.
Dynasty Warriors 1 began the dive into ancient Chinese history through an adaptation of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, while Dynasty Warriors 2 became a groundbreaking title with much potential that would gradually be realised and improved in later years. It's honestly hard to judge older games on their own merits when you're accustomed to playing newer games, but as this series goes on, you'll see how the series gradually improves or deteriorates.
That's it for Dynasty Warriors 1 and 2. Next time, the Xtreme Legends begin with Dynasty Warriors 3.
