also i meant to make a post about it because i always say nabaradis are iranian but i never actually explained the district system and what the real life counterpart is but it's divided into seven regions that are informally called haft - khān (the seven realms). the first one is golestān - e - sofra, whose people are inspired by persians and it is where the current royal family reside. it's the heart of the kingdom, of some sort. then there is qizil - qala, inspired by iranian azerbaijan. next is zarrin - kuh (shams' home district) which is inspired by lur and bakhtiari nomads. then there's shahr - e - raz, inspired by kurdistan, and rigestān, inspired by baluchistan. the last two are shemrān, inspired by caspian gilaks and mazandaranis, and bandar - e - nar, inspired by khuzestani arabs :p
#i always go into narbarad being heavily inspired by iran but i never explain how#there's a lot more to it :p#i'm gonna go into the different ethnic groups but it is so important to me#even as a middle eastern there's so much research you gotta do about different ethnic groups if#you're not from a certain country and YEAH#will write about it in more detail soon !!#i was out today but i will try to write a bit (no promises)

The U.S. bombed Iran on Saturday night. No vote. No real explanation. And now the story keeps changing.
I broke it down in a 9-slide explainer for those of us who are tired of doomscrolling but still want to understand what’s happening. We deserve context that doesn’t make us feel numb.
This isn’t just another headline. It’s the start of something we’ve seen before.
👉 Reblog if you’re watching history repeat itself in real time. 🧠 Stay informed without burning out.

It's been a year. A year of war and pain and suffering. A year of a brutal genocide against millions of innocents. Children, (pregnant and mensturating) women, old people, disabled people---their violence knows no bounds, their victims diverse and endless.
Yet people remain silent. Some, even speak in support of them. You ask how the atrocities in our histories were carried out so seamlessly and I point you in the direction of the Zionist movement.
How many more have to suffer at the hands of Israel and America, at the hands of the white man, before you can open your eyes?
Do you need another soldier crying at their president about how he lied and sent them to war against civilians? Is the ground evidence not enough?
How can you see everything yet choose to remain blind?
#at least iran is doing something about it#mbs is such a coward i cannot begin to explain it#its just so tiring#haya: talks politics & religion#from the river to the sea palestine will be free#save palestine#free palestine#free iran#israel#israel war crimes#israel will fall#lebanon

re: that last post the thing is my parents are very politically left by the standards of where I grew up and especially where they grew up but neither of them fits the stereotype at all
#dad grew up working-class in rural utah but in a non-mormon union household#he converted to the lds church as a young adult mostly for his first wife but later had a crisis of faith in his marriage and in the church#long story short he left both and became a very left-leaning atheist. but people read him as some variety of mountain west redneck#and treat him in classist ways because of how he looks and talks despite the fact that he has a master's degree#mom also left the church and moved to the left in a more gradual way but she grew up as a professor's kid#who lived in pre-revolutionary iran(!) as a child before the family moved back to the states and landed in a big city#and then eventually ended up moving back to small-town utah when she was a young teenager#explaining my cultural/class/religious background is complicated lmao

I don’t actually have words for what existing as a Jewish Woman (I mean as a Jewish person in general but for me specifically as a Jewish Woman) except that millennia of trauma. It’s the pain of so so many people who you thought knew better or maybe actually cared about you or both repeat blood libel after blood libel after misinformation and there’s so so much pain. So much. I hate it. I hate me for like, letting it get to me? Caring? I don’t even know. Posting about fandom stuff after this.
(See a zio = genocide sticker while walking around. See another. Want to vomit. Want to die).
#and this is not to rag on all my friends/mutuals who have stayed and listened!#i adore all of you and you make me cry with how loved I have felt#(and genuinely no one should ever feel they have to speak about this stuff! i mean that)#i just..:i have really wanted to not be here today#i woke up from a nightmare of a gas chamber a filthy shower room#and i thought so many people who would cheer#and i don’t want to be distrustful or unkind and yet I’m tired of explaining things of having to say ‘this upset me because’#through exhausted tears#i am tired of the fear in my stomach when I think about saying something#i will never be able to make aliyaah#i want to#i am a person with left wing opinions who will never trust or call herself a leftist again#(maybe a progressive/liberal tbh)#i want those friends back and I don’t and I knew the antisemitism was there but I didn’t stupidly think it was there#all jews are indigenous to israel and also MY BIO FATHERS FAMILY WENT TO SYRIA AND IRAN IN EXILE

This is why I don't argue politics with randoms online. You end up in a flame war with someone who thinks not having a Starbucks is grounds for bombing a sovereign nation.
#Iran#Politics#I have a poli sci degree I didn't spend four years in school to waste an afternoon explaining to stupid people how stupid they are#I also have a law degree but that's irrelevant

if you're wondering why Ted Cruz is arguing with Tucker Carlson, it's because Tucker is an "isolationist." In GOP terms, "isolationist" either means "weird libertarian like Rand Paul" or "on Putin's payroll" or "both"
Tucker is on Daddy Vladdy's payroll and Putin doesn't want US to bomb Iran. See Also: Tulsi Gabbard trying to low-tone it. The ones who are directly paid by Putin will be the "isolationists."
#this post is not an endorsement for bombing iran for the record#i'm just explaining why the girls are fiiiighting

I'm still back
with a vengeance (uh link to the post where I actually came back)
(Linking 'Cus I'm not putting a block of text here explaining everything I'm doing differently from my translation posts before a second time dnndndndnd)
Less than the other post because I'm hoping that I can do more in a week when I see my parents again in person. (I texted these to my maman [except for the two without dialogue] and she fixed Olive, Icicle Yeti and Herb's but I got the others right by myself she said :3)
I'm not gonna put the romanization under the cut this time 'Cus it's not long enough to warrant it I think? If anyone asks me to I will:
("khaasti baa doostam baash?")
*Herb Cookie: بیسکویت سبزی (biskwit sabzi)
«.سلام! به باغ من خوش آمدین» ("salaam! beh baagh man khoosh amadin.")
*Alchemist Cookie: بیسکویت کیمیاگر (biskwit kimiyaagar)
«!راهنمایی من را پیروی بکن» ("raahnamaayi man raa peyravi bekon!")
#farsi#persian language#cookie run#cookie run kingdom#silverbell cookie#wizard cookie#olive cookie#strawberry cookie#alchemist cookie#pomegranate cookie#icicle yeti cookie#herb cookie#Fun fact: “toot farangi” on a literal level means “western berry” in farsi. That's what strawberries are called.#(I used to think farangi just meant foreign but apparently it like specifically means Europeans/Westerners)#(I forgot why I meant that. I think either I read it online somewhere or my parents explained it to me like that)#Other fun fact: pomegranates are huge in Iran.#I'm gonna have to like periodically reblog this. I'm posting this at 11:12pm X'3
