FIFA World Cup 2022 Rankings - points table and team standings of all groups after day 12
FIFA World Cup 2022 Points Table & Standings: Two groups of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Group E and Group F, went into action on day 12 of the mega event. The German team faced a major disappointment on Day 12 of the World Cup in Doha when they were eliminated early for the second consecutive tournament despite an impressive win against Costa Rica. Japan shocked Spain 2-1 to win their group for the first time ever. Morocco and Croatia from group F also secured spots in the final 16. However, after disappointing performances, Canada and Belgium will be heading home. In the first game of the day, neither team mustered a single successful attempt at goal as Belgium and Croatia drew 0-0. At the Al Thumama Stadium, Morocco defeated Canada by a score of 2-1 to advance to the knockout round for the first time since 1986. Japan shocked Spain by coming from behind to defeat them 2-1 early in the second half with two goals. Despite defeating Costa Rica 4-2, Germany failed to secure a place for itself in the round of 16.

Cui Bono?
From authoritarian leaders to White House aides to the Palestinians, tallying the winners and losers of the Abraham Accords
Israel and two Arab Gulf states, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, have formally and publicly established diplomatic relations. The White House is calling the agreements “The Abraham Accords,” and President Donald Trump, in typically understated fashion, announced that “there’s going to be peace in the Middle East.” (Spoiler alert: no.) The U.A.E. and Bahrain are the third and fourth Arab countries to open diplomatic relations with Israel; Egypt and Jordan were the first two. Here is a brief, tentative analysis of the winners and losers in this new arrangement. (I say “tentative” because this is the Middle East, and no one actually knows for sure what any of this could mean.)
The Winners
The White House aides who named this agreement “The Abraham Accords”
A genius marketing move, though I would have preferred the “Isaac and Ishmael Summit,” or “The Treaty of Ghent,” for that matter. “The Abraham Accords” is grandiose for any number of reasons, including the fact that what was signed yesterday does not even constitute a peace treaty. Peace treaties are made between warring parties, and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have never been at war with Israel. My personal preference would have been to deploy the big gun himself, Abraham, the father of monotheism, for a peace treaty between Israelis and Palestinians, which would be the thing that actually ended that Middle East conflict.
The authoritarian leaders, or authoritarian-curious leaders, of four countries
The agreement is a victory for Mohammed bin Zayed, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and the de facto ruler of the Emirates; Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia; Benjamin Netanyahu, the forever prime minister of Israel; and President Donald Trump. Each of these men needed this agreement rather urgently:
(A) Bin Zayed, because he realizes that the U.A.E. is deeply unpopular with Democrats (the U.A.E. leadership put itself on President Barack Obama’s bad side and was a bit too ostentatiously relieved when Trump came into office), and so understands that he needs to make his country look helpful and constructive to Joe Biden, just in case.
(B)   Bin Salman, without whom these Gulf states, Bahrain in particular, would not dare make such a bold and public move, needs this agreement for much the same reason: He has to prove to Democrats (and to Europeans) that he is a constructive and moderate leader, and not merely a murderer of dissidents.
(C) Netanyahu benefits in at least three ways: First, he diverts attention from his miserable handling of the coronavirus pandemic (Israel is moving into a new, three-week lockdown on Friday). Second, he manages to make “peace” with Arabs who are not Palestinians, the particular group of Arabs he’d most like to avoid. And third, he buttresses his reputation among Israeli voters as a statesman on the world stage.
d)   Donald Trump, because he can tell his followers, particularly his more gullible followers, that he has brought peace to the Middle East. (Not that American voters reward presidents who bring peace to the Middle East; just ask Jimmy Carter.)
The makers of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter
In many ways “The Abraham Accords” amount to an arms deal. The U.A.E. and other states that now engage with Israel will find themselves armed with a better class of American weaponry. The U.S. has pledged for a very long time to maintain Israel’s qualitative military edge, but the U.A.E. in particular might have just arranged for itself a similar promise.
The ambassadors
The deal is a triumph for the Emirati ambassador to the U.S., Yousef Al Otaiba; the Israeli ambassador to the U.S., Ron Dermer; and Jared Kushner, the Trump administration’s ambassador to all sorts of Semites. It was Otaiba, more than any other single figure, who organized this coming-out party. He is the canniest and most influential ambassador in Washington, in part because he has bin Zayed’s trust, and in part because he so assiduously cultivates his country’s image as a (relatively speaking) progressive, anti-extremist Arab state. Dermer, Netanyahu’s longtime confidante, gets to claim a diplomatic victory, one that bypasses the core of the conflict, the Israeli-Palestinian struggle. And credit where credit is due: Kushner brought energy and drive to this process, and secured a win for his father-in-law and for the Israeli right, to which he is partial. It was the regional players who made this happen, but Kushner was smart enough to help set the table.
Israelis
They can now travel to Dubai and Abu Dhabi (and maybe, soon, to Morocco and Sudan and Oman). The crushing sense of isolation that Israelis feel in their own neighborhood may be partially lifted by this agreement.
The Losers
The Iranian leadership
Israel and the United Arab Emirates (along with other Gulf states) have secretly cooperated with each other against their common enemy, the Islamic Republic of Iran, for more than a decade. The normalization of relations strengthens this coalition, the members of which (mainly correctly) see Iran and its various terrorist appendages as threats to their stability and territorial integrity, and even to their existence.
The Palestinians
A dark and cruel joke I once heard in Saudi Arabia: What’s the difference between Arab Gulf leaders and Netanyahu’s Likud party? The Gulf states really despise the Palestinians. Once again, Arab leaders are signaling to the Palestinians that they have grown tired of what they see as Palestinian rejectionism and obduracy, and also that they would very much like to be partners with Israel in high-tech development and in the fight against Iran. Two years ago, bin Salman told me in an interview: “I believe that each people, anywhere, has a right to live in their peaceful nation. I believe the Palestinians and the Israelis have the right to have their own land.” This statement was seen, correctly, as an invitation to Arab states to deepen their ties to Israel.
In this new deal, Israel gets something for nothing: relations with two more Arab states without so much as a settlement freeze. (The Israelis did promise the U.A.E. that they wouldn’t formally annex any West Bank land, for the time being at least. But Netanyahu didn’t have Trump’s permission to annex such land anyway, and he certainly wouldn’t get permission from Biden, should Biden win the presidency).
There is a case to be made that this new push for normalization will aid the cause of Israeli-Palestinian compromise. David Makovsky of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and Daniel Shapiro, Obama’s ambassador to Israel, argued in The Washington Post: “History and common sense both show that Arab states that maintain diplomatic relations with Israel play a more active role in supporting Palestinian aspirations than those who do not.” A smart point, and true, but this deal does nothing at all to convince the Israeli right that gestures toward the Palestinians would be worth making.
My view aligns more closely with that of Tamara Cofman Wittes, of the Brookings Institution’s Center for Middle East Policy, who told me, “The reality of Palestinian politics is that the overall stalemate, the threat of annexation, and now the Emiratis and Bahrainis making their separate arrangements will cause the Palestinians to dig in. This all just reinforces an instinct toward resistance.” She went on to say that the Emiratis, known in the region for their hostility to the Palestinians, are “not in a position to influence Palestinian politics unless they hope to replace Palestinian leaders with other, more malleable Palestinians of their own choosing.”
If the so-called Abraham Accords put Iran and its terrorist proxies on the back foot, then good. If they cause Israel to avoid coming to terms with the reality that its continued control over the lives of millions of Palestinians threatens its democratic nature, then both the Palestinian aspiration of nationhood and the Israeli dream of a free and strong democratic haven in the Jewish ancestral homeland could be victims of this agreement.

Qatar World Cup: Child Heung-min strikes at the passing to help South Korea down Syria

Child cleared the ball home from short proximity in the 89th moment, five minutes after Omar Korbin hoped to have gotten a portion of the focuses for the Syrians in a game overwhelmed by the hosts. South Korea now has seven points from their first three games, and Bento's team may have had the match decided long before Hwang In-box placed his team ahead three minutes into the second half.
The Koreans hit the woodwork as right on time as the tenth moment when Song Min-kyu's header cut the casing of the objective before the unfilled stands of the Ansan WA Stadium. Hwang Hee-chan fought hard to display his Wolver Hampton Wanderers structure in his first season, shining the ball high over the crossbar from close range midway through the half.
The striker shot objective again when he pounded Song's padded header well over the bar and, with the main half in injury time, he guided one more exertion over the bar after deftly controlling Hwang In-boom's ball over the safeguard. In spite of surrendering most of the ownership, Syria was a danger on the break with Omar Al Somah compelling a full-stretch save out of Kim Seung-Gyu in the main half while Korbin tried the attendant in the 53rd moment.
By then, at that point, however, the Koreans had started to lead the pack through Hwang In-beom, who turned onto his left foot prior to shooting across Ibrahim Alma from outside the space. Alma twice denied Son the chance to twofold the lead as the subsequent half wore on and Korbin's staggering completion seemed as though it would rebuff the Koreans. Why the Jerusalem declaration is Trump’s cruelest move yet
Tumblr media
medium.com - Ben Wolford
A father and mother are in the middle of a difficult discussion over the custody of their child. They’ve both been crying. It’s the most critical moment of their lives. Suddenly, a preposterous man sits down at the dining room table, issues a legally binding order in favor of the father and then abruptly changes the subject: “Big crowd expected today in Pensacola, Florida, for a Make America Great Again speech!”
If you can imagine the way the mother feels, you can begin to imagine how Palestinians feel today.
The U.S. conversation has moved away from Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The story was way down on the home pages of The New York Times and The Washington Post. I couldn’t even find stories about it on the leftist front pages of Mother Jones and Jacobin. A Latterly contributing editor in Washington just told me that “it’s barely being discussed.”
The arrogant nonchalance is part of what’s so infuriating to Palestinians. Trump’s declaration was a gut punch to 12 million people that left them feeling sick, morose and angry in a way that’s difficult for non-Palestinians to understand. And we don’t even bother trying. Indifference is America’s ultimate act of cruelty.
But in fact, this is the worst thing the Trump administration has done. Worse than the Muslim ban, worse than repealing DACA and worse than walking away from the Paris Agreement.
Twenty thousand people assembled in downtown Amman today—and thousands more protested around the world—because one more piece of land has just been taken away from them. They did not elect the person who took it from them. The Israelis did not elect that person. And not even a majority of American voters elected that person. Fewer still among those who voted for Donald Trump know anything about the Israel-Palestine dispute or care.
Yet the images streaming out of today’s protests can give you an idea how much Trump’s 12-minute speech on Jerusalem matters.
If you think this demonstration has the look and feel of the protests that led to the Arab Spring, you’re not wrong. There’s a direct link between the way these protesters feel now and the way the protesters felt in 2011.
I’ll explain that, but first the requisite background. Jerusalem is a divided city. Both Israel and Palestine claim the whole municipality, but for now, after decades of gridlock, each side is mostly content to grasp a portion: the Israelis in West Jerusalem and the Palestinians in East Jerusalem. Palestinians wanted East Jerusalem to be part of Palestine in any two-state agreement.
Trump, by himself, for no apparent reason, has imperiled that arrangement by declaring (or rather, slurring) “Jerusalem is Israel’s capital.” He didn’t say West Jerusalem. He said Jerusalem.
Journalists yesterday tried to make David M. Satterfield, the acting assistant U.S. secretary of state for the Middle East, clarify the president’s statement. It ended with Satterfield attempting to say grammatically acceptable sentences while at the same time saying nothing at all:
QUESTION: Could you explain the distinction between recognizing the capital and not deciding anything on borders as it refers to a deal? Because if you’re saying that this is a final status issue to be negotiated at the table, how does either (a), this not prejudice a deal when Jerusalem is a final status issue, or (b), how is it not a meaningless declaration that could be negotiated at the table? It has to be one or the other.
AMBASSADOR SATTERFIELD: Elise, final status negotiations are going to deal with those boundaries of sovereignty, border questions that the president spoke to as not addressed by his recognition. The president thought it was the right thing to do for the United States, after all these years, to acknowledge the fact, the reality, that Jerusalem is the seat of government of the state of Israel, the capital of the state of Israel. That’s it.
QUESTION: But it’s — respectfully, it’s inconsistent with the idea that you would also be negotiating at the table unless you can acknowledge what we’re all trying to get you to say, which you artfully are not —
AMBASSADOR SATTERFIELD: Thank you, Elise. You may well think that. Thank you.
QUESTION: Well — but the idea that it may — that is — that Jerusalem is the capital, but perhaps in final status negotiations that it might be not the united capital.
AMBASSADOR SATTERFIELD: Elise, I will only address one more point on this. What were the words the President used? It was a very simple statement: recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. There are words you might want to put in there; he didn’t. There are words you might want to take out; he didn’t. That statement was very carefully made, as was the comment we are not prejudicing addressing by this decision final status issue.
When asked in what way the statement was carefully made, he said “I’m not going to get into a tick-tock on this.” Asked if he personally agreed with the decision, Satterfield gritted his teeth: “Oh, now. I am an employee of the U.S. government. … This is a decision which we will work our best to execute and advance.”
In the absence of any clarification from the Trump administration, Palestinians have intuited what’s going on here: The United States, which was supposed to be mediating a deal, has suddenly awarded a city it doesn’t own to a people that doesn’t deserve it, as one Amman protester put it.
The chief Palestinian negotiator told The New York Times he’d given up on hope for a two-state solution and was shifting strategy toward simply making life better for Arabs stuck under Israeli occupation. “This is the reality,” he said. “We live here. Our struggle should focus on one thing: equal rights.”
The people he represents—those thousands marching in Palestine, Jordan and elsewhere today—aren’t ready to give up. But they, too, have undergone a shift. To speak with them, it feels like more than a mere shift in strategy, though that’s part of it: They’ve steeled their hearts and clenched their fists to a new reality in which no one—not the U.S., not Israel and not the Arab leaders who govern the Palestinian diaspora—is dealing with them honestly.
Remember, this is a people that understands all of Palestine to be its territory, from the Mediterranean Sea to the Dead Sea. They understand Zionists and the West to have stolen this place where Jews, Muslims, Christians and others once lived together; imposed a religious state; and subjected the local inhabitants to second-class status or worse. They understand that they will one day reclaim this land, no matter how long it takes. The dream is to establish a democracy where Jews, Muslims, Christians and others can again live peacefully—a state where they can pay taxes and elect officials that work for everyone.
Today that dream seems further away. The Palestinian Authority, a governing body set up in 1994 to manage the transition to a Palestinian state, and its Fatah party leadership are seen as failing. The alternative, a Hamas-led vision of armed struggle, begins to appear as though it were necessary all along.
“They … have been told that their only hope is to create such pain for Israelis and unrest throughout the region that their needs will have to be addressed,” writes Mitchell Plitnick, former vice president of the Foundation for Middle East Peace.
This isn’t to say that Palestinians are the violent, extremist hotheads that Israeli and American propaganda would have you believe. (For instance, the U.S. embassy here in Amman ordered the children of government employees to stay home from school on Thursday. As far as I know, this wasn’t based on any intelligence that kids were in danger. Rather, it smells more like racist fear-mongering: “Those reactionary Arabs will kill your children.”)
On the contrary, Palestinians who aspire to nationhood view—with good reason—the Israeli occupation of Palestine as a violent, military project. Therefore, right or wrong, arguments for a violent, military response are at least understandable and should not be conflated with terrorism, as the editor of The Jerusalem Post does.
Such a conflict would be devastating. More than 1,500 civilians died in the 2014 Gaza War, almost all of them Palestinian, including some 500 children. But Palestinians are willing to die for statehood. Already, I’ve just seen a report of two killed by Israeli forces in Gaza during protests.
Such demonstrations could keep growing, especially as they relate to U.S.-allied Arab dictators in Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which are not only repressive (in a variety of ways) but are seen as increasingly cozy with Israel as a counterweight to Iran and Islamic extremist groups. It’s in this sense that many Palestinians are calling for a second Arab Spring, in the hopes that such an uprising would spawn a dozen Tunisias. But it could also spawn a dozen Syrias.
That predictions falls at the cataclysmic end of the spectrum of possibilities. So far, the “three days of rage” Palestinian leaders called for have been mostly peaceful. There’s still plenty of room for the parties to salvage the nonviolent resolution that Trump’s action threatens to destroy. But it would be a mistake to discount Palestinians’ feelings of powerlessness—and the power such a feeling creates.
Why would Trump even want to mess with that? “It is almost impossible to see the logic,” wrote Shibley Telhami of the Brookings Institution. Sixty-three percent of Americans opposed the move, according to a University of Maryland poll.
Trump’s motives for anything are a mystery, and he likes to keep it that way. He prefers chaos to continuity, and he likes to do things that make him the center of attention. He’s also been the target of an intense pressure campaign by right-wing American Jewish organizations, Evangelical Christians and wealthy donors like casino owner Sheldon Adelson, who made the Jerusalem embassy relocation a focus of their lobbying efforts. It worked.
The biggest reason this was such an irresponsible decision is simple: It didn’t have to be made.
It was a cruel decision because the majority of Americans aren’t effected and don’t care, while for so many people in the street today it felt like everything.

Finding outdoor rugs and also floor coverings for the patio, gazebo, deck, and also any type of other outside areas is a treat. Outdoor rugs are available in nearly as lots of styles as rugs for the inside of the residence. What is great about a polypropylene outdoor carpet is that you can wash time as well as time once more without harming the rug itself.
You might determine to brighten up your or else dark corridor with a rug runner or cover and appeal your slippery stairs. These rugs are terrific under dining area tables, at entryways, or anywhere with great deals of traffic like hallways as well as stairs. For runner rugs (rugs that are noticeably longer than they are vast and generally utilized in hallways and on stairs) and location rugs that aren't surrounded by furnishings, identify the border you would certainly such as to have around the carpet; leaving about 18 to 36 inches between the rug and the wall creates an eye-pleasing border.
All pile rugs are woven with knots, but different weaving groups make use of different knots. Weaving generally begins by passing a number of wefts via the bottom warp to create a base to begin with. Woven rugs are created on automated weaving looms in which multiple shades of thread are sewn right into a backing product. All stack rugs are woven with knots, yet various weaving teams utilize various knots. The art of rug weaving existed in Iran in old times, according to proof such as the 2500-year-old Pazyryk rug, dating back to 500 B. Carpet-weaving is certainly one of the most notable manifestations of Persian society as well as art, as well as dates back to old Persia. There is a wide array of types of woollen used for weaving. The strings making up the warp are stretched on the loom before weaving starts.

Implementing Madrid Plan of Action on Ageing: What learnings in the last 15 years? What future directions?
Tumblr media
Abbreviations
Abbreviations: MIPAA: Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing; DHS: Demographic and Health Surveys; MICS: Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey; AAI: Active Ageing Index; ECE: Economic Commission for Europe
Short Communication
It's no secret that the world's population is aging. As fertility declines and life expectancy increases, the proportion of people in older ages is projected to grow in all regions of the world. Therefore, it is increasingly important to develop metrics that assess the effectiveness of policies and programmes affecting older people. The Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA), developed in 2002, is central to this measurement agenda. It set out three priorities to guide countries in their policies:
a) Older persons and development (in particular
promoting social protection).
b) Advancing health and well-being into old age.
c) Ensuring enabling and supportive environments.
Fifteen years later, it is timely to assess the effectiveness of the Madrid Plan and indeed reviewing it is a theme of the next UN Commission for Social Development. The MIPAA started with great promise as one of the only international policy frameworks to focus on older people. The latest UN review of MIPAA shows that despite progress in policy formulations, its implementation remains uneven across countries and the three policy priority directions. Major constraints include lack of resources, political will and data.
So, what have we learned from the process? What do we need to do now?
The MIPAA experience so far offers one major lesson: its monitoring lacked a comprehensive global approach. This was partly because of lack of age-disaggregated data in many countries, but mainly for the fact that the MIPAA monitoring toolkit has not been properly developed. In such introspection, another critical question is: how MIPAA stays relevant when the international community is committed instead to its newest and most comprehensive policy framework to date, the 2030 Agenda of sustainable development.
MIPAA Monitoring Lacks a Comprehensive Global Approach
While progress is being made in the implementation of the MIPAA, there is no comprehensive global approach towards its monitoring. Metrics are an area that some feel was underdeveloped in the Plan. This in turn has led to a disproportionate submission of anecdotal, descriptive and self-defined information, with little evaluation of the relationship between outputs and policy impact. In particular, the limited use of indicators in national reporting has hampered comparisons of country-level progress. Such inconsistency and varied reporting is unsurprising in such a voluntary system. A specific example is on reporting progress towards sensitising and reducing elder abuse. Nordic and Western European countries introduced programmes that led to increased reporting and development of policies to prevent violence against older persons.
In contrast, very limited information is available in many Eastern European countries on the extent of violence, abuse and neglect of older persons. Even where data are available, cases are often underreported and prevention policies are lacking. Greater national capacities are needed: not only to design comprehensive policies for the older population but also to provide specific guidelines in assessing their progress. Detailed guidance on data collection, including timescales for reporting, is an area where investment will have significant impacts on the success of the MIPAA. This is even more important now that demographic aging has taken hold within developing as well as developed countries.
Lack of Age-Disaggregated data has been a Major Constraint
Fundamental to the successful implementation of the MIPAA is reliable country-level data collection and research, areas for which there was little guidance in the MIPAA's recommendations. In developing countries, the lack of data disaggregated by age and sex for even basic sociodemographic and health indicators is acute and makes tracking implementation of the MIPAA difficult. For example, in the majority of African countries, much of the available data are for younger age groups. Data that is especially important to older persons. It is not surprising that many African countries were not represented in Help Age International's Global Age Watch Index. Part of the problem lies in the fact that many surveys stop short of collecting data on older persons. USAID's Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) and UNICEF's Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) serve as two of the biggest tools for generating global statistics and they focus mainly on children and women under the age of 49. There could be the option of removing the age-cap in these existing global surveys, as has been done by South Africa.
However, a more desirable option will be that countries invest in collecting data using the specialised survey instruments and methodologies to collect data on older men and women. The new national survey on older persons in Iran, to be conducted during 2018, is a good practice example in this respect where policymaking communities in a resource-constrained country appreciate the value of high-quality evidence base on older people. The formation of the new UN Titchfield City Group on Ageing and Age-disaggregated data provides us a unique opportunity to ensure that countries learn from each other in the collection of age-disaggregated data and monitor progress in the implementation of the MIPAA.
The MIPAA Monitoring took it needs to be Developed
I believe an investment in global assessment tools is also vital to ensure that the MIPAA is implemented seriously. I suggest that a dashboard of indicators aligned with the key priorities of the MIPAA - including an adaptation of the Active Ageing Index (AAI) - should serve as the toolkit for monitor MIPAA implementation in the future. The composite AAI will help point to priority countries by comparing the index value. The dashboard of indicators can then help identify in which areas a country is doing well (or falling short) and what learnings can be drawn from the good global policy practices.
The AAI comprises 22 indicators, organised around four domains:
a) Employment;
b) Social Participation;
c) Independent, healthy and secure living and
d) Capacity and enabling environment for active ageing.
The AAI indicators are disaggregated by gender and in large part focus on people aged over 55. The AAI evidence can be summarised in an aggregated country-level score, facilitating global comparisons and the production of a league table. It identifies contexts in which older people fare better, and point to policy interventions that are effective in empowering older people and ensuring their rights. The AAI indicators was used by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) in the third cycle review of MIPAA, starting in 2015, to reflect the outcomes of ageing policies and to measure the untapped potential of older people. The latest AAI results for European countries show that Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Iceland are at the top of the ranking, followed closely by Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, the UK and Ireland.
Future Directions for MIPAA Implementation
I believe that the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda have put ageing back onto the international development agenda. The two pledges made, 'Leaving no one behind' and 'Reaching the furthest behind first', give us a strong momentum to seek inclusion of older people in all policymaking. We are therefore aspiring to live in a world in which no development process is complete without the objective of the promotion of quality of life of vulnerable groups of society, such as the older population, and where the older population's participation make them key contributors to the development process (Figure 1).

Lupine Publishers | A Study on Self-Efficacy and Love Styles in Couples with and Without Family Conflicts
Tumblr media
Lupine Publishers | Scholarly Journal Of Psychology And Behavioral Sciences
Introduction
Family is a type of social system and an emotional unit that that develops the personality of the individuals. In order for the family to be able to carry out its key functions well, it is necessary for it to have security and peace. In fact, during the processes of family, there are problems that disturbs its peace, even for a short time. (Ritzer, 2004) When family functions, such as its biological, social, cognitive and emotional functions are damaged one after another, the family members lose their sense of satisfaction gradually. The gradual decrease in the sense of satisfaction in the family members, leads to mental break and subsequently social break and ultimately a legal event that is referred to as “divorce” [1]. A quick look at the brief history of family system suggests that there have been conflict and divorce, as long as marriage has existed, and this has been always present during human civilization [2]. According to the official statistics, 200 marriages lead to divorce, among everyone thousand marriages and Iran is the fourth country in the world in this regard [3]. The quality of marital relationships is a multidimensional concept ad it includes various aspects of the couple relationships, such as adaptability, satisfaction, happiness, solidarity and commitment. (Gottman, 1993). Among the most significant components affecting success and adaptability and fit in positive psychology field is self-efficacy that is derived from [4] social psychology theory.
In this approach, human behavior is not only controlled by the external and environmental factors, but also the “cognitive processes have a determining role in this behavior [5]. Bendura believes that self-efficacy refers to the individuals’ beliefs and judgements about their capabilities in carrying out a task or coping with a special stressful situation and he sees the characteristics of the individuals with high self-efficacy comparing to the individuals with low self-efficacy in controlling the hardships of life and carrying out their duties and showing more perseverance and better function. (Bendura, 1995) There are some researches carried out to study the relationship between self-efficacy and mental health or adaptation [6]. carried out a research entitled “Sexual Efficacy and Marital Satisfaction”. The findings from this study show that there is a significant correlation between sexual efficacy in couples and marital satisfaction. In a study entitled “Modeling Loneliness Based on the Structure of Spiritual Wellbeing of Self-Efficacy and Life Satisfaction”, [7] showed that general self-efficacy has a negative and significant influence on loneliness in the individuals. On a study carried out on males suffering from sexual disorders, McCullough and [8] came to this conclusion that there is relationship between sexual self-efficacy and life satisfaction. There are many factors involved in any marriage that lead to marital satisfaction and dissatisfaction. According to Rizavy (1996), the main reason for marriage and divorce are love and lack of love. According to him, perceiving the phenomenon of love is important and research in this field seem necessary, for it could lead to clarifying many issues regarding family matters [9].
Love has a significant tole in marital satisfaction and love and truest among the couples is the first motivation in adaptation and conflict resolution [10]. are many different approaches towards the psychologic nature of love and its components, and among the current theories about the loving relationships among the couples, [11] Triangular Love theory is of the most prominent theories. Studies introduce the presence of love in the marital relationships as a strong predicting factor for happiness, positive emotions and satisfaction. (Kim and Hetfield, 2005). In Riehl-Emre, Thomas and Willy (2003) study that was carried out on normal couples and couples dealing with long-term martial issues, live had the highest rate, among other 19 variables. Other studies also showed deep and significant relationships between romantic love and general happiness, lower illness symptoms, higher marital satisfaction and better physical health [12-14]. carried out a research to study the martial issues and the results suggested that the most common problems include sexual issues (23.8%), emotional intimacy (18.7%), cleaning the house (18%) and communication (15.3%). In the meanwhile, the values of commutation, commitment, decision-making, emotional intimacy and sexual issues have the most negative influence on the marital satisfaction. As it was stated before and as it was shown by the researches, there are many factors affecting stability and continuity of marriage and as a result the prevention of divorce. Hence, considering the abovementioned issues, the objective in this study is to answer this question that if there is a relationship between self-efficacy and love styles in emergence or absence of family conflicts.
Statistical Population
The statistical population in this study included couples admitted in Dispute Resolution Council of Ministry of Justice in Ardabil County during spring and summer of 2004.
Research Sample
The sample in this research included 100 individuals who had filed for a divorce and normal families who were chosen through simple random sampling. (N = 100) The participants selection method was as the following: 50 individuals (25 male and 25 female) were randomly chosen among the individuals who had filed for a divorce at the Dispute Resolution Council of Ministry of Justice in Ardabil County. In this study, 50 individuals were considered for each group (divorce applicants and normal individuals).
Data Collection Instruments
The instruments used in this study included two scales of
a. Self-Efficacy scale developed by Sherer and Adams
b. Love Styles scale developed by Sternberg
Self-Efficacy scale developed by Sherer and Adams
This scale was constructed by Sherer and Damas (1983) and it is a paper-pencil questionnaire. The Cronbach’s alpha and retest reliability for this scale were reported to be 79 percent and 39 percent, respectively. Mehrabizade Honarmand and Abolqasemi (2000) reported the Cronbach’s alpha and retest reliability of the scale to be 81 percent and 79 percent, respectively. It evaluates the self-efficacy of the individuals in three levels of: 1. The desire for behavior initiation 2. The desire to try for completing the behavior 3. Their resistance towards the obstacles (Sherer and Adams, 1982) This scale includes 17 items and the participants respond to each item in a 5-point scale (from Completely Disagree to Completely Agree). The validity of this scale was reported to be 91 percent by [1].
Love Styles scale by Sternberg
Love Styles questionnaire was developed by This scale includes 45 items and assesses three components: intimacy, passion and commitment. [11] reported the Cronbach’s alpha of this scale to be 90 percent that is in accordance with the study of Amanollahifard (2006) and he reported 89 percent of the component of intimacy, 89 percent for passion and 81 percent for commitment. [11] calculated the coefficient of validity for components of intimacy, passion and commitment to be 66 percent, 77 percent and 92 percent, respectively [8] .
Statistical Methods
In order to analyze the data, SPSS software was used and since there are more than one dependent variable in this study and the independent variable is constituted of two independent levels, MANOVA was sued. MANOVA was used in data analysis of H2. MANOVA was used in order to determine the significance among the groups (filed for divorce and normal) in each of the components of self-efficacy and love styles, and since for MANOVA test the presupposition of equality of variances should be met Table 1, initially Levine test was used and its results are presented in the following table. As it could be observed in Table 2, the presupposition of equality of variances for MANOVA is met, so that this test was not significant for any of the variables, and as a result, parametric MANOVA could be used. However, initially Wilks’ lambda test was used to determine the general influence of group variable on the research variables, and its results are presented in (Tables 3 & 4). Considering the results provided in the table above, in which the general influence of the groups is significant, since the F related to Wilks’ lambda with 48.291 is significant with degree of freedom at p<0.001; that is, there is a significant difference between the two groups (filed for divorce and normal) at least in one of the research variables. According to the table, it could be inferred that: There is a significant difference between the studied groups (filed for divorce and normal) in the variable of self-efficacy at p<0.001. hence, by referring to the mean of the two groups it could be concluded that normal families have a considerably higher self-efficacy, comparing to the families that have filed for divorce. The difference between the studied groups (filed for divorce and normal) is significant in sub-component of intimacy for the love style at p<0.001. hence, by referring to the mean of the two groups it could be concluded that normal families use more love styles, comparing to the families that have filed for divorce.
Table 1: Results of Mean and Standard Deviation of Self-Efficacy and Love Components (Intimacy, Passion and Commitment) Based on Research Groups (Filed for Divorce and Normal).
Table 2: Levine Test for Testing Equality of Variances.
Table 3: Manova Significance Test.
Table 4: Manova test for Determining the Difference between Groups in the Studied Variables.
Discussion and Conclusion
The first hypothesis in this study was that there is a significant difference between the two groups of families with family disputes and normal families. Based on the derived results, the mean differences between these two groups were significant. Hence, this hypothesis is approved. Therefore, it could be claimed that the couple self-efficacy is higher in the normal individuals, comparing to the individuals going through family disputes. In fact, the findings show that individuals who consider themselves more efficient, have a higher life satisfaction and in addition to having more control in life difficulties, they show a higher effort and persistence in performing their marital tasks and duties, have better performance and can fulfill a desirable future. Hence, the results from this study are in accordance with the findings of Kim and Park, DiThomas et al., Whitie and McLogin, that suggest individuals with higher selfefficacy, in addition to achieving more successes in their lives in performance, have a higher life satisfaction in their marital life. The second hypothesis in this study was that there is a difference between love styles among the couples in two groups of families with family disputes and normal families. According to the results, the difference between love styles means in normal individuals and individuals who have filed for divorce was statistically significant, and since the main reason for both marriage and divorce is presence or lack of love, love and trust between the couples is the main motivation for adaptation and conflict resolution, this hypothesis is approved. Accordingly, this study is in accordance with the previous studies of [4] and Pella, that indicate that commitment, intimacy and amount and type of sexual relationships are among the main factors related to love and marital satisfaction. Also, [7,8] showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between love and its styles and martial satisfaction, and the mean of marital satisfaction is higher in the normal families with complete love style, comparing to the individuals going through divorce.
The next research hypothesis that is on the sub-components of love styles, expresses that there is a difference between the intimacy of the styles among the couples in two groups of families with family disputes and normal families. Hence, considering the findings, this hypothesis is approved and statistically significant. Another research hypothesis that is on the sub-components of love styles, expresses that there is a difference between the passion of the styles among the couples in two groups of families with family disputes and normal families. Hence, considering the findings, this hypothesis is approved and statistically significant. Another research hypothesis that is on the sub-components of love styles, expresses that there is a difference between the commitment of the styles among the couples in two groups of families with family disputes and normal families. Hence, considering the findings, this hypothesis is approved and statistically significant

Call your mother...
Tumblr media
                Cary Welborn
By KEN WELBORN
Record Publisher
Just three short weeks ago I wrote about the death of my father, Rev. C. S. Welborn, in March of 1995.
This Friday, April 26, will be the anniversary of the death of my mother, Cary. She was a widow but 30 days.
About two weeks after my dad died, mother told me and my brother, T. A., that she was going to "...go be with your daddy."  In the 10 or 15 years prior to that, she wouldn't have changed brand of dish detergent without first running it by T. A.
This was different.
She was clear, she was sure, and she assured us of two things in that conversation—first that we would be fine—she had raised us well and it was natural to bury your parents. Then she ended the conversation with her second comment—her oft noted thankfulness that she never had to bury a child—that, in her words, was "...unnatural" or "...out of order."
About two weeks later, she went to sleep surrounded by her family on the evening of April 25, after listening to a series of hymns sung by an amazingly kind soul named Floranna Williams.  She died peacefully in the early morning hours that followed.
It never changes for me.
It still seems like a blink of the eye, though 24 years have passed.  I still feel like I am 8 years old picking blackberries for my mother with Mark Goodman for the cobbler we would shortly devour. I am at my birthday party when I was 7 where even my crabby first grade teacher showed up.  Her name was Minnie Horton and she had literally struck terror in the hearts of Hinshaw Street’s "Great Unwashed."   And, speaking of teachers, I had Miss Elizabeth Finley in the second grade—literally going from the frying pan into the fire.
But, in fairness, I must quote my once feared but now revered elementary school principal, Conrad Shaw, that "...none of us were any worse for the wear."
I have heard my mother say it is all right to spoil a child if you spoil him with love, and she practiced what she preached. I often remind all that I was my mother, Cary's, baby boy, but the truth is we were all blessed with a kind and caring mother who went far beyond being a wonderful cook and homemaker.
She taught us to live by the simple rule of treating everyone as we would like to be treated, assuring us that helping others would always be reward enough in itself.  I will never forget the last meal my mother fixed for me in August of 1994—for my birthday.  As I sat eating myself under the table, she sat smiling, saying little but with eyes that spoke volumes about this slight, frail woman who wanted nothing more than to see her baby boy happy.
I know my mother overdid it that day.  Once again she had put the welfare or happiness of someone else ahead of her own, a trait for which she is often remembered.
During the time when my father was beginning to fade away, what I didn't know was that she would not let him go by himself.  Or, perhaps more to the point, that he would be waiting—impatiently—for her to arrive.
So.
Twenty four years have gone by.  Now, more than ever, I treasure the memories of my mother, I treasure the lessons I learned at her feet, I treasure the kindness she showed me and everyone she met, and, perhaps most of all, I have come to truly appreciate what unconditional love is.
Clearly, to know my mother, Cary, was to love her, but to love her like I loved her is also to miss her terribly.  No one could ever put things better that the late Lewis Grizzard who once wrote, "Call your mother—I sure wish I could."
Oh, how I wish I could.

“It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine”

If you’re reading this, congratulations!
You have survived the rapture!
Last week I read an article where Fox news reported that prominent “Christian Numerologist” David Meade predicted the Rapture for April 23 according to Biblical prophecy. (For those of you unfamiliar with the belief, some Christians think they will rise in the sky and meet Jesus at the end of the world.)
My immediate thought went straight to the compassion of Christ. Most rapture days are random numbers thrown into a regularly mundane week. Not this time. It’s two days after Easter, so not only are we all rising within days of when Christ did, but we got time to digest Easter dinner and all the candy. Can I get an Amen?
Back to the theory: Based on Revelation 12:1–2, Meade says our time marker is the alignment the moon appearing under the feet of the Constellation Virgo, the sun appearing to “clothe” Virgo, the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of Mercury, Venus and Mars –combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo, represent a unique once-in-a-century sign exactly as depicted in the verses, which all happen on April 23.
Of course, Meade also says that Nibiru (planet x) is responsible for this alignment will appear above the sky causing volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and earthquakes. Never mind that NASA has repeatedly pointed out that planet is a hoax, and put out a statement saying, “No giant, rogue planet has been found in the outer solar system to play the role of Nibiru.” But that doesn’t stop it from popping up in forecasts of doom.
That being said, if the rapture happens there will inadvertently be some of us left. Hopefully you have a plan B for the post-rapture world. I hope there will be more dance numbers, special effects and background music in everyday life.
However, if you don’t have a plan, allow me to suggest a few things:
Practice cursive handwriting- it’s becoming quite a lost art and I’m tired of trying to translate chicken scratch. In fact, work on penmanship all together.
Increase your vocabulary. If you find yourself running pell mell down the sidewalk after assuming you’d be taken, use ratiocination and coddiwomple to the closet library. There’s nothing that your favorite book and a nice cup of tea can’t fix.
Try to be a good human. It never fails to amaze me that the most hateful people wonder “why me” when they get hit by a fruit truck.
Saturday people followed by Sunday people

Special to The Record
Today, the United  States and other democracies around the world face the most insidious ideological threat in history. What I’m referring to is the political, religious, secular and legal doctrine and system known as Sharia which governs the Islamic world.
There are more than fifty Muslim majority countries on earth with close to two billion adherents of the Islamic faith.  This figure  represents more than 22 percent of the world’s population.  If their philosophy were to “live and let live,” there would be no rising threat.  However, their goal is not peaceful coexistence but rather the domination and annihilation of all who do not worship Allah and they will settle for nothing less.  The best tool against the global ambitions of militant Islamists is to have an educated and well-informed populace.  Burying our heads in the sand and remaining ignorant of the evil forces at play in the world around us will only allow this danger to grow.
Israel is on the frontlines of the world’s war on terror and the fight against the cancerous spread of radical Islam.  We’ve all heard the saying, “Know your enemy.”  Well, Israel is under no false illusions.  She knows that Islamic terror groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Fatah, Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS, Al-Shabaab, and Boko Haram, to name only a few, have their sights laser focused on the destruction of Israel.
According to Islamic teaching, there is no room in this world for infidels which, when translated, means Jews and Christians must be killed. That, my friends, means you and me.
Sadly, many Christians today are fairly uninformed about the ever-growing threats facing Israel from her Arab neighbors.  Imagine Iran with nuclear weapons whose brand of Islamic militancy knows no bounds.  Israel fully recognizes that, “if your enemy says they are going to kill you, believe them.” Here in the United  States we’ve been a bit slower at learning this lesson in favor of political correctness and appeasement.  Remember, Islam is determined to destroy the Saturday people followed by the Sunday people.  We must believe them or suffer the consequences.  How did it happen that those counted among America’s enemies have offices in the Congress of the United States?
“We the People” no longer collectively embrace the same values and beliefs upon which our great country was founded.  We’ve pushed God out of our schools and other institutions and opened the door for Allah.  Are we still a Christian nation?  In Europe, less than 50% of the population claims to be Christian. On the other hand, Israel is holding fast and firm to her Jewishness and her right to exist as a Jewish state.  No matter the peace deal placed on the table, for Israel this is nonnegotiable.  Those of us in America who still love God and embrace the fundamental values upon which our country was founded, must stand up and be counted and we must stand with Israel, our only true friend and ally in the Middle East.
Whiskey, Cornbread and a guest from Denmark
By CARL WHITE
Life in the Carolinas
It was a nice week.
Spring was showing off her fresh colors and the pollen count was high; but then it rained, and the wind blew much of the beautiful misery away.
Saturday was stable enough for the Copper Barrel Distillery annual event, Shinetopia; an outdoor benefit concert, cook-off and car show around the heritage of moonshine.
Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The Moon Runners Food Truck’s meatloaf on a stick was a huge hit. Cameraman Tim said the delightful meatloaf, snugly wrapped with bacon and glazed with a BBQ moonshine sauce, was a treat fit for Nordic nobility. Shiners Stash Jerky was another big hit, with their sample of moonshine infused jerky with various flavor profiles.
Listing to story-teller Dub Harris recount tales of moonshiners from his youth, it was not hard to imagine them in the woods making a fresh batch of whiskey and chewing on some jerky to fuel the long hours of work.
And then I met Ila Dean Hayes who had two submissions for the corn bread cook off. She is a charming lady with children and grandchildren who unconditionally love her rendition of traditional corn bread.
“It’s important that it’s made in a cast iron skillet that has a slight outward slop,” she said.
With such a glowing review, pride in her culinary mastery and endorsements by so many who love her, I naturally ask for the recipe.
My request was somewhat fulfilled in that she did share the simple list of ingredients; however, she did not share the amounts because she has never used exact measurements. For Ila, it’s a feeling about how much is right. She just knows how much to use and that’s the way it is.
She did share that for many years she has only used the fresh ground cornmeal from Linneys Mill. “It’s fresh and it taste good,” she said.
Ila knows how to carry on a good conversation. I was honored to get to know her and I was pleased to see at the end of the day that with steep completion, Ila received two mentions for her traditional cornbread submissions; An honorable mention for one and second place for another; however there is no doubt in my mind that for those who love Ila, she always comes in first place.
A few days later I visited with Jan Kronsell from Denmark.
Over the past 19 years, he has taken vacation in the United States and 14 of the 19 years he has visited the Carolinas. He often stays in a bed and breakfast because he feels as if he gets to know the local area better. We had a great visit and made plans to visit again when Jan and his family return to the U.S. for summer travels. Jan is one of the many who have become captivated by Tom Dooley’s story. It’s interesting that a person form Denmark would take on the task of learning so much about our legendary Tom Dooley, so much so that Jan recently released a novella on the subject titled, “The Doctor’s Secret.” Another book is in the works as well.
The Carolinas have many fascinations that spark the curious nature of those not from here. It’s a nice thing to take a moment and get to know those who visit. In doing so, we make new friends who will often visit again.

Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal | Effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies, Headache-Related Disability, and Headache Intensity in Patients with Chronic Daily Headache
3.1. Participants and Procedure
The current semi-experimental study was conducted at Shahid Beheshti governmental hospital of Kashan, Iran in 2016. The research committee of Kashan University of Medical Sciences approved the study (ethical code, IR.KAUMS.MEDNT.REC.1396.53). The participants signed an informed consent form and were given information about the purpose of the study and their right to withdraw from the study. They were assured about the confidentiality of their personal information.
The participants included adults with chronic daily headache/migraine, who were referred by expert neurologists to the neurology clinic of Shahid Beheshti hospital of Kashan, Iran. The inclusion criteria were as follows: 1, chronic daily headache according to the international classification of headache disorders (third edition, beta version) (46); 2, willingness to participate in the study; 3, age range of 18 – 60 years; 4, no medical diagnosis of organic brain or psychotic disorders; 5, no history of psychological treatments in the preceding six months; 6, lack of other chronic pain problems; and 7, no history of epileptic seizures or facial nerve pain.
The sample size was determined, based on the information extracted from a study by Gharaei-Ardakani et al. on the effectiveness of ACT in reducing the severity of pain experience in women with chronic headache disorder (47). The sample size was estimated at 20 subjects per group considering the effect of pain severity with a mean (standard deviation) of 3.53 (2.1) for the intervention group and 7.73 (1.7) for the control group at a significance level of 0.05 and power of 95% (second type error, 20%, β, 0.2; d, 2), using the following formula:
Equation 1.
Forty patients were selected via purposive sampling and randomly assigned to ACT and medical treatment as usual (MTAU) groups through block randomization.
3.2. Intervention
The MTAU group was treated with antidepressants, beta-blockers, calcium-channel blockers, or anticonvulsants. The ACT group received ACT training in addition to MTAU. The ACT group was trained for eight weeks by an expert with a Master’s degree in clinical psychology under the supervision of a clinical psychologist with a PhD degree. The adopted Persian ACT protocol for chronic pain, based on the manual of Vowles and colleagues (48), was used in this intervention. The ACT comprised of eight 90-minute weekly group sessions in two months. The overall content of the sessions is presented in Table 1.
Sessions Objectives and Content 1 A, Review of treatment history; B, introduction of the possibility that change is possible, but perhaps not through symptom reduction. 2 A, Review of interactions between feelings, thoughts, and actions that lead to vicious cycles; (B) exercises to control thoughts and/or emotions; C, introduction of the idea that changes in action may mean changes that directly contribute to meaningful and successful living (i.e., values), not changes in stubborn avoidance behaviors; D, mindfulness practice. 3 A, Value-clarification exercises and emphasis on awareness and identification; B, practice of mindful breathing. 4 A, Continued value-clarification exercises; B, discussion about barriers and exercise of value-based actions, even in aversive situations; C, setting an effective goal related to values; D, body sensation awareness exercises. 5 A, Discussion about activity cycling and pacing; B, cognitive defusion exercises; C, awareness exercises. 6 A, Continued cognitive defusion exercises; B, “thought watching” exercise; C, continued discussion of openness to experience discomfort in the service of a meaningful life. 7 A, Awareness and exercises pertaining to the ways in which people add additional, often unnecessary, distress to already distressing situations; B, continued discussion about willingness towards a meaningful life; C, mindful walking exercise. 8 A, Preparation for relapses and setbacks.
3.3. Instruments
3.3.1. Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ)
CERQ is a 36-item questionnaire, consisting of nonadjustment and adjustment emotion regulation strategies. All items are rated on a five-point Likert scale, ranging from one (almost never) to five (almost always) (50); a higher subscale score reflects the greater use of the strategy. Research on cognitive emotion regulation strategies has shown that all subscales have good internal consistencies (51). Cronbach’s alpha for internal consistency of the subscales ranges from 0.60 to 0.80 (52). A previous study regarding the reliability of adjustment and nonadjustment strategies reported Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of 0.91 and 0.87, respectively (50). In another study from Iran, the reliability of CERQ was measured using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient (0.82). Also, regarding the validity of the questionnaire, the correlation coefficients of nonadjustment emotion regulation strategies for depression and anxiety were 0.35 and 0.37, respectively in the general health questionnaire (53).
3.3.2. Headache Disability Inventory (HDI)
HDI (54) is a 25-item scale for the perceived impact of headache on emotional and daily functioning, with three possible options (“No”, 0 score; “Sometimes”, 2 scores; “Yes”, 4 scores). HDI appears to have acceptable short-term (r, 0.93 – 0.95 for one week) and long-term (r, 0.76 – 0.83 for two months) stability (54, 55). In a study from Iran regarding the reliability of HDI, Cronbach’s alpha coefficients for emotional and functional aspects were 0.68 and 0.83, respectively. In terms of concurrent validity, the correlation coefficients of emotional and functional factors of HDI and symptom checklist (SCL-25) were 0.71, 0.51, and 0.55, respectively (56).
3.3.3. Diary Scale for Headache
This scale (49) was used as a measure of headache intensity. The patients were asked to record a diary of headache intensity on a rating scale from zero (absence of pain) to ten (most intense disabling headache). The mean headache intensity in one week was calculated by dividing the sum of severity scores by seven. The minimum score of headache severity is zero, while the maximum score is ten. The headache diary was presented to five patients, as well as a neurologist and a psychiatrist, to confirm its content validity (57). The reliability coefficient of the Persian version of the scale is estimated at 0.88 (57).
3.4. Data Analysis
The collected data were analyzed in SPSS version 24 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Chi square test was used to compare the demographics in the groups (Table 2). Independent sample t test was used to identify the baseline differences between the intervention and control groups in terms of clinical characteristics. Also, Kolmogorov- Smirnov test was used to describe the normal distribution of variables, followed by parametric tests. Table 3 presents the mean and standard deviation (SD) of dependent variables. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and repeated measures ANOVA were also performed to compare the groups regarding cognitive emotion regulation strategies, headache-related disability, and headache intensity at pretreatment, posttreatment, and three-month follow-up. P value less than 0.05 was considered significant in all tests.
