Pearl P932 Demonator Right Footed Drum Pedal Review
When trying to decide on a double bass pedal to add to my arsenal, I look for one that can handle the speed of my feet without jamming up during my performance. One pedal that I found can withstand the demand of any breakneck song is the Pearl P932 Demonator Drum Pedal.
Things to Consider Before Buying a Drum Pedal
Before throwing down your hard earned cash, keep in mind that double bass pedals are primarily designed for speed and agility when delivering a ferocious punch to any song. While they are not exclusively built for heavy metal, they definitely are a must if you are serious about the genre. Also to note are three types to choose from: belt driven, chain driven (single and double), and direct driven.
If you’re just starting out as a beginner drummer, a double bass pedal might not be your best route. If that’s the case, I recommend a simple direct driven single bass pedal. However, this pedal will definitely be something you’ll want to consider upgrading to as your skill level increases.
The Pearl P932 Demonator Right Footed Single Chain
Boasting its award-winning Demon Drive pedals, the Pearl P932 is a single chain driven pedal. It comes equipped with a Demon Style Powershifter long-footboard and is durable enough to handle any demanding set-list while providing just enough kick to thrill audiences  It’s also very versatile and is pretty solid in quality for what is an affordable price range. This would make a great addition if you’re want to start playing without having to spend a ton of cash.
The P932 is designed with performance in mind, promising to provide an excellent feel when riding the slave pedal and throwing down a driving gallop. Compared with other leading brands, this pedal delivers at a lower cost without sacrificing the durability that any hard beat needs.

Features and Benefits
Durability and Very Little Lag
Made with an aluminum driveshaft, this pedal has a solid base that provides a very smooth ride. Because the pedal is a single-chain, it can withstand the heaviest of beats.
It also features Pearl’s Click-Lock spring tensions that prevent it from loosening up when playing. The dual side beaters are also nice and lightweight, with a control core that helps with the shock of impact
Adjustable for Comfort Level
The double bass pedal features standard adjustments to the beater angle, allowing an infinite number of positions. It also has an eliminator style adjustment in the footboard, allowing you to move the forward and rear placement to create a light or heavy feel.
Very Reasonably Priced
Compared with higher-end models, the P932 is pretty reasonable for under $200. It comes equipped with your standard features and offers a very durable performance while keeping your wallet from being hit. It’s also worth investing in if you’re just starting out with a double bass, although it’s definitely equipped to handle extreme use and play. Just because the single chain sounds like a beginner’s pedal, don’t let appearances fool you. This is a great buy if you’re ready to start as a performer.

Final Thoughts
Choosing a double bass pedal can be a pretty daunting task when you take into account all of the features at your disposal. I know the frustration of having to buy a pedal only to find out it wasn’t as smooth as promised or not nearly up to the task that my own performance skill demanded. But for a price of around $200, the Pearl P932 Demonator is hard to ignore. Built with its aluminum frame and single chain, it allows for heavy riding without sacrificing your speed. And while there are drummers out there that swear by double chains, don’t let the simplicity of this pedal deter you. I would argue the differences are pretty moot and not worth the debate when looking for one that will deliver on sound and performance.

MAPEX P500TW Single Chain Double Bass Drum Pedal Review
A double bass drum pedal is often an overlooked piece of hardware for your drum set. Depending on your style, a double bass pedal can be vital to how you play, but they can take up a lot of time when it comes to set up, so you can play as fast as you wish. Finding the best double bass drum pedal can become costly, so it is important to make sure you buy a pedal that has the features you want for an affordable price.
Things to Consider Before Buying a Drum Pedal
Depending on the company and the hardware, each pedal will offer its own strengths and weaknesses. It is often just a personal choice which features are preferred in a double pedal, but there are a few things to consider.
Make sure you know which of the three types of belts you prefer either a belt drive, chain drive, or direct drive. Balance and adjustability are also key to a good pedal as this will stop one of your feet working harder than the other. Keep all these points in mind as you try all the different styles until you find the one that suits your preferences the best.
MAPEX P500TW Double Bass Drum Pedal
The Mapex P500TW Double Bass Drum Pedal includes standard features like a single-chain drive, reversible beaters, and adjustable spurs. It also gives you durability and solid performance at an affordable price making this a great pedal for a player just starting out.
With the single-chain drive mechanism, you get better extended durability than normally seen in a beginner pedal. You also get the option of a softer sound with the reversible beater in case you want to vary up your sound from the hard slap of plastic. Plus, it includes retractable floor spikes that keep the bass drum and the pedal from sliding around while you play it.
Pros
Great for beginners
Cost effective pedal
Good for playing jazz and easy paced pieces
Solid construction
Easy to install and use
Cons
Not good for heavy touring
Tends to slide side to side even with the carpet spurs fully embedded
A little bit slow
Not good for fast playing
Check Current Prices
Features and Benefits
Usability
The Mapex 500 Double Bass Drum Pedal has single-chain drives that come with spring tensions that are fully adjustable. Featuring ABS plastic beaters that are duo-toned felt, floor spikes that are retractable, footboards that come with stabilizing radius rods that are compact, and adjustments that include independent universal linkage, you get a lot of features in just one double bass pedal. This is a good pedal for a beginner just learning to play double bass, and it is also easy to use and install.
Construction
Solidly built, the Mapex 500 Double Bass Drum Pedal also includes a lot of adjustability to fit your playing style. This is especially true if you are a fast player, you will need to adjust it to your level. Made of solid steel components, the Mapex 500 was designed for durability, reliability, and playability. Adjustments can be made easily and quickly, which is really important if you use the pedals for gigging.
Value
For the price, this is a well-built double pedal that includes quite a few features. A lot of other pedals that offer the same quality and features will cost you a lot more. Especially for those just beginning to learn to play double bass, this is a good value for the durability and playability that you will get from this double bass pedal.

I'm very happy with these new Pearl Eliminator Redline double pedals from #pearldrums that I recently received. I think these are about the smoothest bass pedals I've ever played 😍 and they look great with my #gretschdrums and #gibraltarhardware too 😎🥁. I highly recommend checking these out to anyone looking to replace their existing double pedals and aren't on a really tight budget. I upgraded from the original Tama Iron Cobra double pedals released in the 90's to these and the difference was amazing given the age of them. However I do have to give props to Tama as well for making a pedal that has lasted me over 20 years of service 🎉 #drums #drumming
