I spent the evening meeting with the board of End of the Innocence, an organization dedicated to helping tell the stories of survivors and enhancing the rhetorical both within the survivor community and between survivors and loved ones. Being a survivor is a lot of work - personally, emotionally, socially, intimately... And being a survivor who wants to effect change requires the work of an army. I heard the battle cry of @ashley_nation, and I'm raising my voice with her. ... #IStandwithAshley #metoo #metoomovement #supportsystem #survivor #sexualharassment #sexualabuse #cptsdrecovery #cptsdawareness #cptsd #warrior #Victim1 #codifyconsent #SenateBill135 https://www.instagram.com/p/CMbDO9cHykJ/?igshid=1wo8cpbgbuqmk

#IStandWithAshley
Ashley is a cinnamon roll who must be protected at all costs.
She is so strong. She freed herself from a toxic group of people. No one should be labeled a “fake account” for doing such a thing. All she did was drop a group of toxic people from her life. Let her live, smh.
Leave Ashley alone.

Check it out - the story about the Nathan Shewell allegations and what @ashley_nation and I are now working to accomplish is on the front page of the @newsandtribune!! That's the thing about abuse of children amd adults who try to cover it up: the truth always comes out somehow. And people are listening this time. Ashley and I won't be silenced anymore. ... #localnews #newspaper #frontpage #metoo #metoomovement #CodifyConsent #IStandwithAshley #Victim1 #community #education #policyreform #education #educatorabuse #sexualharassment #sexualabuse https://www.instagram.com/p/CL9Ovq5HgfF/?igshid=18rgef5oekelb

It's natural for us to look to our elders and superiors for guidance in life. The same is true in schools - students look to teachers and administrators for guidance on what is acceptable or unacceptable. The behavior exhibited and the environment established by Nathan Shewell seemed normal because, despite numerous reports by students and their parents to the administration, nothing was done. His comments, his questions, his opportunistic behavior continued. For years. As I said in my statement yesterday: At the time, I brushed it off. “That must just be Shewell,” I’d tell myself, “If it was really that bad, administration would do something.” And I am certain I am one of hundreds, thousands, of students nationwide who could say the same thing about their teacher and school leaders. Nathan Shewell is one man. He is one fish in a pond that must be emptied - individuals like him have no place in a school. However, individuals like Ashley Nation absolutely belong in the spotlight. I stand with Victim #1. I will not sit back down. @ashley_nation #IStandwithAshley #metoo #metoomovement #nojusticenopeace #justice #policyreform https://www.instagram.com/p/CLpUikxnz_Q/?igshid=14tejxex23nnb
