“The way to walk in FREEDOM is to SURRENDER Control.” Like the majority of people on this planet, I too have and still struggle with giving up CONTROL. I mean it’s so freaking hard to surrender because it makes us vulnerable and the uncertainty that comes with being vulnerable is unsettling for most of us. Personally, it’s a lot easier for me to take the wheel so I can steer it however I want to. And that applies to my marriage, my family, my career and everything in between. But the hard truth is being a control freak is often disappointing because no one knows what the future holds, and things don’t always go the way we want them to. And that’s where walking by FAITH comes in. It gives us the privilege of giving up our control and letting God take the wheel because He certainly knows what’s best for us. Moreover, He knows and holds the future. So it’s better for me to lay my burdens down and hand the load over to the One who can handle it all and in turn make everything work out for my good. PS. Don’t mind me, this is my diary entry for the day. Its not everyday that I get dizzied up with spiritual work, but today was a dizzying day. I got to have a direct line of conversation with God today in real time, and it was like time traveling into the past. Mostly for unfinished business I've got spiritually with Him in it. From listening to a sermon today over the radio concerning unfinished business, and Scripture on the same subject at Phil. 3v13 (KJV), I'm learning a great deal on that. Specifically on how inviting Jesus into the past I've been holding onto is one of the most freeing decisions I can make presently (Is. 43v15-19, KJV). So, that way, I can continue to make good, forward looking progress in my faith walk (Phil. 3v14, KJV); with accountability for the limited time I've got to do just that alongside Jesus (2 Thes. 2, KJV). Walking in the freedom afforded unto me by Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection has never been harder because of that (1 Jn. 2v15, KJV). I just never knew it could be so hard to do, almost like carrying tons of baggage that's not the cross. It’s a whole spiritual load to carry in itself, and I've been getting dizzied with how tiring that's been for me, lately. Not because the cross has caused me dizziness, but because I've been circling my baggage wondering if there is something I'm forgetting to take with me. A lot like Lot's wife had in mind before the LORD smote Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19v26, KJV). In my younger years it seemed so obvious to just simply move on from a life that has less than all of God in it. Until the time came for me to do that, and LORD help me, this is a challenge. So, at present, walking in step with Jesus has been like an elliptical set to max steepness and resistance. I'm at a spiritual crossroads, a junction in time of my spiritual growth, where I can either regress or progress in growing as a child of God. I choose to grow in and go with Jesus, minus the baggage He bought from me a while back. The cross is enough for me to carry (Luke 9v23, KJV). I believe it, and pray everyone else does too, for their growth, more eased cross carrying and less dizzied work in faith with God. Struggle to Surrender. Don’t sit too close to me. My spiritual warfare is visible. All can see the evidence. I, however, am perfectly willing to surrender, all of it. I stand head lifted high, palms open wide with my arms held up to the sky. My posture is straight and I wait. Warfare going as fast minds could possibly move surrounds me, but from above the light shines and warms me to the core of my soul. He is here! I wait. He is my hope, He is my stay. The struggle will bring me from this soil of growth to the seed that had been planted to a harvest of joy and thankfulness. In this I will praise Him even in the depth of the struggle, I will surrender. The light will make clear the Light’s way of that surrender and then my walk will be beyond the struggle, beyond the warfare. I will know The Way, the decisions. The Word is the Light unto my path.
