having a breakdown btw wtf was i thinking applying to a job that is a 7 HOUR ROUND TRIP FROM WHERE I LIVE
#obv i would move there but if i got the job the latest i could start is a month after the offer#so i would have to find an apartment in a MONTH#I WANTED TO TAKE MY TIMR#i dont have an interview or anything so im still probably not going to get it (re: no college degree)#but the lack of immediate rejection is#frightening??#like its a full time that pays twice what i make rn but thats not even 35k#and its in a TOURIST TOWN so what if i cant find an apartment at all let alone one under 1k#bank and dentist and shit can wait but i cant afford a hotel in a tourist town#i have eniugh saved for a deposit already (i would fucking hope) but it would wipe out whay i have set aside for summer classes#WHAT WAS I THINKING FR#i want a remote job :( why did that last job have to reject me so fast it was remote AND based in a city close to me :(#unrelated but does anyone have a facebook account they don't want#im 100% serious btw ive tried to make an account 4 fucking times and no mater WHAT ID i give them (video/selfie/actual id) they delete me#I JUST WANT TO USE FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE. love waking up to my mom giving me an ultimatum and ordering that i have to give up my (admittedly expensive) apartment 1n 2 weeks and move back home for good. i had stuff to do today but i guess being gripped by dread and anxiety works too
#i had been thinking about moving to a smaller one too. but now she's ordering me to do that#and expects me to move back home#when my university and all of my two friends are in the city.#and i have TWO WEEKS to live here if she wants me to move before summer because i have to go back home anyway in early may#for my summer job.#like sure i wouldve understood like a hey. my child. your financial situation is oretty tough so i have some suggestions that could help#but she was like okay here's whay you do: option a) [something i couldnt do before fall] b) find a cheaper apartment and live in two weeks#c) move home for good and commute over an hour any day you have university stuff to do and also essentially lose access to your#friends and all and any independence you have managed to cobble together so i can treat you like a child and yeall at you#the last part wasnt included but it's what she does anyways so i assume it's part of the deal#then i would have to commute or drive an hour any time i wanted to see either of my friends. after every summer im already#tired and desperate to come back to my apartment to get to be on my own. and now she's saying i have to never do that again#and here's the fuckin thing. her husband is planning on fixing my car. my mom pays my phone bill. i know what a loser i am whatever.#she actually owns my dogs and my childhood home. i cannot. piss her ofd too much. because then i'll lose all of those#phone. whatever i can get a new one. car. slightly more heartbrwakin but like i still own it. but the house?#my dogs?? i think i would rather die atm if im being honest#so what the fuck am i supposed to do. huh.#maybe i should just walk into the sea foe good i feel like that would just so neatly solve all of my problems

Im thinking about Sanderson's Roshar, and how the map shape is based on a specific, though possibly obscure, natural phenomenon. "A 3d slice of a 4d Julia set" which, yeah, means absolutely nothing to me. No idea what that is. However. I wonder if the world of DE is similarly based on something real, if people with the right knowledge set could figure it out. I dont remember the exact description but if iirc it was pretty specific, either in a book or in conversation with Joyce.
Re "after pale, life again", I wonder if theres an in-world basis of truth at all, or maybe its a kind of afterlife wish. As they experience the pale, its the end of all life, so maybe theyre hoping theres somehow life on the other side again.
(Im thinking now about motorway south and like. You ever had a dream meet a dead end, cannot proceed, and your sleeping mind kinda freaks out and hopes to wake up immediately? I wonder if its like that. Every direction you turn is pale. Do you die? Do you become like a ghost?)
My other thought is about pale and time. In the indecisive middleman...moralist! quest, you hear Kim through the pale/radio saying its cold, but he doesnt speak that line till you get to the islet in the bay. The pale echoes back and forward in time. Of it swallows all, maybe it also births all too. I feel like the phasmid said something relevant but I cant quite twig the memory.
more questions about pale for lore masters! first one, how tall is pale? i assume elysium has some sort of atmosphere, so does it fill the space all the way up to it or is it somewhat heavy and stays closer to the ground? second one, since the saying goes "after pale, life again", is there any known theory to how does pale dissolve after it has covered everything/made everything disappear? is it just the absence of humans that makes it slowly decompose since no new input is added to it? i wonder how many hundreds or thousands of years it would take for it to be fully gone again?
