I still can't quite process that I had emergency surgery this week??

like I went from zero scars or hospital experience to general anaesthetic and a big scar for life there are pieces of me missing this is surreal to me it just will not sink in

I'm just saying, they could totally make a (borderlands-style) Stephen King's Desperation/Far Cry kind of story/game/whatever about some off-worlder, maybe someone anti-Hyperion getting stuck in Lynchwood (possibly getting stranded on Pandora and thinking that this place might be civilised and bandit-free) and hoping to get out of there (but also out of the desert and off Pandora). Possibly even working as a prequel to Nisha's death in Borderlands 2 somehow.

#Lynchwood is such an insane place to me #borderlands #fandom #like I think my biggest squabble with the direction the borderlands franchise is headed in --- is that it's becoming too civilised #and that also has to do with the fact that we've seen other planets now other than Pandora #One thing I think especially Borderlands 1 got right was how hostile this world was #how dead and terrifying and how utterly alone you are there #and I think that's also part of the reason why the jokes worked differently #i don't know it's hard to put into words #but think about the first game when you arrive in Fyrestone #and you see the weird shacks everyone was living in -#and then the graveyard where the whole village is lying #and borderlands 2 opened pretty much the same way-#you arrive in the village and Hammerlock asks you to clean the graveyard where all the town inhabitants are #like...Pandora was so hostile to human life and you could rarely ever escape that #so the surreality of people just LIVING there was really tightly interwoven into everything #In Pre-Sequel ...I mean you can literally just suffocate out there #and even in Tales you have the absolute inhumanity of Hyperion - but also the reactions of Rhys and Vaughn to Pandora #and I feel like...especially in Borderlands 3 that horror factor wasn't quite there anymore
