wrath if subaru’s scarf is RED, not yellow

ok so like this is a very highly specific and Too Detailed and maybe just a Tad bit of a stretch of an analysis but like wrathbaru's scarf is canonically red in the if. but ALMOST EVERYONE makes it yellow in like fanart or other fan content a lot. which isnt a bad thing, i just think its funny because wrathbaru's scarf is like how disney's aurora has a dress that keeps switching between blue and red aljdslfj

but 1. i am a sucker for attention to detail AND im a nerd im so sorry 😭😭 and 2. i love character design a LOT and 3. this is the what if where color is HIGHLY important. and i think the scarf being red is more poignant than it being yellow.

ok to start off. heres what the text says:

OK COOL so we’ve established the scarf is 100% red. but why? whats the significance? i think this is due to several reasons.

we all know subaru’s signature colors, at least pre-arc 6, in that subaru’s main color palette has been black and yellow. yellow specifically is the main color we associate with him. so its like yes, of course a lot of people in fan content continue that color scheme even with wrath if subaru because his scarf is the one thing in his character design with color in it. BUT thats the whole point of the if—that wrathbaru cant see colors except for if he trusts (or “trusts”, depending on how you see it) a person. yellow is subaru’s main color. but the absence of yellow in wrathbaru’s design emphasizes that hes lost his sense of self (if yellow = current subaru as we know him). the absence of yellow implies that wrathbaru has lost trust in himself (since wrathbaru would DEFINITELY mention it if he saw himself in color). subaru doesnt even wear his normal color palette anymore. it’s been replaced with a color that he hasnt worn at all until this point—red.

(additionally, subaru shared that specific black and yellow color palette with one other person—satella, the person whos given him rbd. wrathbarus paranoia stops him from overusing rbd to the same extent as other versions of subaru. so you could say he kind of. Rejects. having that color palette anymore, in a sense. would wrathbaru even trust / "trust" satella? it's debatable.)

and we DO see main route subaru with a yellow scarf and also later in arc 6 onwards with more yellow outfits and most notably a yellow bandanna. but wrathbaru wears a scarf to hide the scars on his neck and continue minimizing the amount of skin he shows. mainbaru wears a scarf to keep warm during memory snow, and he later wears his bandanna mainly as an accessory and also to help in the desert. so his scarf and bandanna are yellow because That is the color that he favors in all his outfits, and its the color that best showcase who he is. he wears a very warm, almost orange-y yellow; it’s very bold but it's specifically a Welcoming color. red and pitch black, on the other hand, is a very harsh contrast—it’s also bold, but in a Violent way. especially with the obvious red = blood imagery that immediately comes to mind given wrathbaru's kill count.

^^ and for further consideration, tappei (and the official artist(s) for rezero, if its illustrated) Does change subarus outfit in ifs to further showcase how hes changed. theres greed if subaru’s black and white suit (and the similar monochrome and lack of color Emphasizes the drastic changes subaru has been through and loss of self) and, for the purposes of More comparison, sloth if subaru.

sloth if subaru's design here of course is. yes traditional japanese clothing. but like Clearly his outfit is meant to match 1. his son and 2. rem of course. like it's this purplish color to match all the purple rem wears, but also to contrast his black hair (cant have the outfit be black or his long hair is just gonna fade into it lajsdlf). it's softer than the bold black he wore before - it kind of shows he's mellowed out and matured from settling down and having a family. it's a comfortable and relaxed. it's a sort of casual outfit that fits him well and shows he has a healthy physique. he's pretty content for the most part and it shows in his design. unlike wrathbaru, who's drowning (hah... see what i did there...) in all the Stark Black of his clothing and the fact that of course he's drowning in it. his clothes don't fit right because he's so sickly. that, and he's hiding himself behind all the fabric (the significance of him using the scarf around his neck...).

so sloth if subarus outfit is meant to match rem. on the other hand, i think the biggest reason for the red scarf is that when it comes to wrath if subaru, he IS matching someone. by the end of the if, theres only one person left that he sees in color.

Confession: I really hate this website. I don't understand how to make friends or why some things get interaction and some don't and although it's the only place with self shippers, I am so lonely most of the time I think I should just leave because what's the point? I also don't have any art or writing skills so can't post anything like that and my husband's world is not popular or one where other people self ship so it's not like I can even get into fandom stuff. Awe, I'm sorry you're feeling so frustrated. You don't have to have the skill to draw or write. I used to be god-awful at both art and drawing but I just...practiced whenever I was able too. Practice makes progress after all, I didn't care if my writing or art was bad in comparison (not that you should compare) but I created it because it makes me happy!

Again, it's ultimately up to you on how you want to do things and in no way am I implying you should do it my way!!

You can always just love post! For a long while and I mean like... two years I hardly produced anything. All I did really was reblog other mutuals art/wrting and occasionally I would make a post just hollering about my f/o. The good thing about that is that it doesn't have to be coherent you can literally type "LSDKJFLKSDJFLDSK MY F/O HHHHHHHH" and people would like it because you're just screaming that you love them!

I remember Livejournal, I never used it myself but I do remember it. I guess in a way you got to put yourself out there. interact with some people either through tags of something they made and you rbd or like participate in sending asks to people. I am in no means "well known" but I found some people who like to put up with my annoying ass /lh

I don't really talk to people privately either, its all mainly through dash communication and asks/asks games.

I understand that it can be hard and frustrating but there are a multitude of different ways of showing your f/o you love them and just a gentle reminder that you're here for you and your ships and if you find some people a long the way who also support your ships, that's a bonus! <3

I know quite a few who have obscure f/o and while yeah content can be hard to come by, like I said there is a lot you can do from if you wanted to try drawing/writing, moodboard making, playlist creation, pintrest board creation, loveposting (Even if it is keysmashes followed by 100 ilus lol)

I'm sorry if I went on a tangent, if you fell asleep partway through I don't blame you! lol I just wanted to kind of reassure you in a sense that there are ways of loving your f/o and showing that love. You don't NEED to make content of them to prove your love or your ships worth and you're here because you want to share some form of love for them right? You're doing that for you and because you want too! Eventually, the right people will find you.

I've never actively looked for friends on the hellsite, people migrated towards me and now I have a lot of lovely mutuals who I can also call friends. It didn't happen overnight (I've been here since like....2017? a least self shipping, been here longer than that tho) but it will happen.

Hoooo boy this is a loaded question for him 😅 I don't think he's ever really been around children? Like, he's ambivalent towards them, mostly from a lack of direct experience. No siblings/extended family, I don't think he's interacted with anyone younger than, like, 15 since he enlisted. Children would probably like him bc he would just treat them as small adults, taking them very seriously and not trying too hard to 'behave' himself around them. He's never really wanted children, partially as a result of not wanting to settle down/have long term relationships and partially due to a number of ancestral curses. He does, however, have at least one child that he did not meet until said child was fully grown. Their relationship is uh. Strained to say the least. Especially since no one told Mulligan that Jameson was his son until after he refused to let the kid join their crew and got him a job on a random colony (with a nonzero amount of xenomorphs. don't even worry about it)

Basically he never wanted to be a father bc he knew he'd be shit at it, and he was <3 He'd probably be a decent babysitter tho? Just not for any extended amount of time.

He prefers to insult people for what they've done rather than what they are, however, in a heated moment he will reach for any suitably heinous swear. (Like the time they responded to a distress call on an abandoned planet and, while exploring the wrecked ship, one of the crew members took their transport vehicle and stranded the rest of them there. He had some very colorful words for her.) His preference is to insult people to their faces so they know where they stand but he will never pass up an opportunity to bitch. Okay, my brain is still a little scrampled eg :tm: and foggy and I'll have to go to sleep again soon but I want to ramble about this as I think writing it down may help others but also help to ram it in my own head a little bit - so this may not be worded the way id like it to but hopefully the message will still come across

This is about fanwork/headcanons/aus and such - since I am working on quite a big Deltarune AU myself and I constantly worry about it not being "canon" enough, since it is meant to be canon-esk and develop things that the player doesn't see in the game.

But... That is kind of the magic of aus! You can do so much cool stuff with an existing media, potray things your own way, change things to suit your needs or change problematic things, add cool ocs, add cool headcanons and make them canon in the au and create things to support them even more, and other things!!! literally go ham and have fun!!!!!! i am thinking abt that one post that i rbd a while ago that i rbs bc of the last addition abt aus and how people should make oc worlds at that point (and how that is how twilight was created)

And I suppose, if you change canon characters too much and claim them as your ocs (like the fucking mass amount of spamton ex ocs, and we know how i feel about those /neg) but still!! literally just have fun its not harming anyone, only absolutely butthurt negative assholes!!! ive been worrying about changing stuff in **MY** au because one or two people out there may not like it.

First time read through light novel vol. 4. Random thoughts.

So this is where mayonnaise came into the story. I still remember my sheer utter confusion over the mayo bath in the Memory Snow OVA, having no memory of the anime ever bringing up any of Subaru's love for the condiment. As a positive for him at least, it's cool that Emilia apparently really likes it too and that he's the one who figured out how to makes the stuff in this new world.

“The lad’s eyes interested me ever so slightly. They said he has crossed the boundary of death. Many come close to the line, stop, and draw back, but...” Wilhelm lowered his lids in thought as his words trailed off. “Those are the eyes of one who has crossed once, no...several times, and returned. I know of no such being. You might say I was compelled by curiosity.”

How would he know what the eyes of someone like that look like if he's never met anyone like that before Subaru?

“Listen and be amazed, look and be astounded! Behold, the ultimate combat technique—RoSciPer!!”

“What is that...thing?! You did not inform me such a hand was possible!”

“Shut up! I didn’t mention it, but it’s your fault you didn’t ask! That part is rock, this here’s scissors, and over there is paper! In other words, my hand’s beaten your rock!”

That is so freaking petty. But on the other hand, maybe Priscilla would respect him for it anyway? I could see her having no problem with winning however you can, even if it's by being unfair and tricking your opponent, as long as you keep your own pride.

It was as if he’d anticipated Subaru’s actions and had instructed her accordingly. She also wondered why he was valuing Subaru’s opinion above Emilia’s.

Hmm...now that's curious.

“That’s right, bro. It’s been eighteen years since I got summoned here. I lost my arm around the same time... Right around the age you are right now.”

Just like that, Al confessed to Subaru that he’d experienced the same situation.

...Wait...WHAT?! If this was in the anime then I completely forgot about it because holy sh*t, Al is from another world too?! And according to him he arrived 18 years ago and was about the same age as Subaru is (and Subaru is roughly 17, isn't he?). No idea if he can Return By Death and if he can he might have the same penalty for trying to talk about it as Subaru does, so he obviously couldn't talk about it, but this is a huge deal. It's a great bit to add to Subaru's story, showing off what could have happened to him and what he could still eventually become. It probably deepened his obsession with Emilia a little bit too, since she's the main difference between him and Al.

“Unfortunately, Lady Emilia, this is not the time or place for you to argue. If all the facts become clear, Subaru will be staying here...for a very, veeery long time.”

Okay, Roswaal f**king knows and is planning something.

They talk about a Dragon Tablet handed down by Holy Dragon Volcanica, which has given predictions and warnings about great disasters that did actually occur. Naturally, my first thoughts are that this Holy Dragon (or whoever wrote the tablet) might have had abilities like Subaru's RBD and that he'll have his own role to play.

Felt might be a long lost princess of the royal family that was wiped out in a strangely specific plague and Subaru met both her and Emilia first in this world because she stole for her the thing that proved she was a worthy candidate for being a Dragon Maiden. It kind of feels like the Witch of Envy is like the Force from Star Wars with how well she made the destinies and chance encounters line up.

I never really liked Ferris that much, and not because he's a cat-boy trap. It's more the way he talks. I like things that are cute but I can't stand things that are cutesy.

While Crusch's idea for the future of the kingdom is nothing that should be rushed, and most certainly should be done with care as not to piss off the dragon, I get where she's coming from, that they are too reliant on the dragon's blessings and not doing enough for themselves. It's a classic argument I've seen plenty in superhero stories. There's no denying the heroes have done a lot of good but when the people become too dependent on them and if/when the heroes can't help anymore, what's going to happen then? It's one of my favorite plot points in My Hero Academia, where common citizens thinking "It's fine, a hero will show up and take care of it." and not helping where they should have eventually gave rise to one of their world's most dangerous and infamous supervillains.

“A-and now you make threats. These words and this show of force convey, ‘Do as I say or you shall be an icicle.’ If this is not blackmail, what is...?!”

Then, Emilia wholeheartedly affirmed his suspicions.

“—Yes, I am threatening you.” She continued, “I shall make my case to the esteemed members of the Council of Elders once more. My name is Emilia. I spent a long time in the Great Forest of Elioor, the World of Eternal Frost, and am served by Puck, the Great Spirit that governs fire mana. I am a silver-haired half-elf. The people of the nearby villages called me...”

Emilia paused, surveying the faces of the Council of Elders on the dais.

“...the Freezing Witch, born in the Frozen Forest.”

Holy sh*t, I am way more into Emilia's character here than I was in the anime! That was awesome! Her whole speech after too and her finally being given some respect. It's not like she didn't have any personality or agency in the anime. It's not like she could have just been replaced by a sexy lamp and nothing would be different like you could with the heroines of other series. But she definitely feels like she has more here, like there's more fire to her. Like hot damn, even I want to see her become queen now!

...And then Subaru opens his mouth again...and promptly inserts his foot.

Yeah, I suppose Subaru white knighting for Emilia in front of all the actual white knights is probably one of the more infamous scenes of the series, huh? It's one of those weird things where you feel you know what Subaru should have done but at the same time, if he hadn't snuck into the castle, we wouldn't have gained his relationships with Priscilla and Al or have seen as much of the meeting as we did. It's good for the story and eventually it's good for character development but it's hard not to wince a little at everything Subaru does in this part, especially because he himself reflects and feels guilty at a few points about how badly he could have messed everything up for Emilia and Roswaal.

I've thought a lot more about Subaru's white knighting ever since I watched the anime, mostly because of characters like Motoyasu from Rising of the Shield Hero and Mitsurugi from Konosuba; two LN series I read before this one. Chivalry isn't a bad thing. Trying to stand up and fight for someone you care about isn't a bad thing. But like Emilia points out, she never asked Subaru to do any of that for her. She didn't want him to do any of that for her. In fact, he deliberately went against what she did ask of him to go and do all of that. With these three characters, the problem with their white knighting is that they're doing it with no regard to what the person they're white knighting for actually wants. In many cases, like Emilia also points out, Subaru wasn't really doing it for her. He was doing it for himself. To make himself feel better. To place himself closer to her. And she's not exactly wrong that their relationship seems to be entirely just two people repaying their debts to each other, even though she has no idea what debt Subaru feels he owes her.

The ironic thing is, if Subaru wanted to get closer to Emilia and have value to her, he already found a way to do that in one of his previous lives. On his second or third loop in the mansion arc, Puck told him that Emilia doesn't have a lot of experience with friends and really wants some. During that loop, Subaru and Emilia are just hanging out, enjoying each other's company, laughing. It's made clear she does genuinely like having him around. Just being her friend was enough for her and there's still plenty of ways her friend could have helped her through such a trying time, without embarrassing her in front of everyone in the castle or making her think it's her fault he keeps getting hurt.

I think Subaru's big problem, and what he needs to grow out of, isn't that he's an idiot (though he can certainly do dumb things) but rather that he's immature. Not immature like he's a child (though sometimes...) but immature in that he hasn't developed enough to properly react to certain situations. He was a shut-in who constantly skipped school. He doesn't have a lot of experience with other real people and doesn't know how to properly interact with them, defaulting too often to what he's seen in fantasy stories. I think that's a problem both he and Rem share to an extent. They don't know what it means to be in love. That's not to say that Subaru's love for Emilia isn't real or that Rem's love for Subaru isn't real. Rather that they don't know what to do with it. They don't know how they should act towards the person they're in love with or how to show their love, so too often they default to either obsession or devotion or both. And so if they want to have a healthy, happy relationship with the person they love, they have to acknowledge and address their own immaturity and basically grow up a bit.

Nice little detail that Julius beat on Subaru to keep any other knights from going after and possibly killing him...and because he was at least a little annoyed by Subaru's words. He's a good guy...but still human.

And again with Roswaal working things behind the scenes. He gave orders for Subaru (or at least a servant bearing his family crest like Subaru would be) to be allowed to pass into the castle. I imagine he did have a back-up plan for if Subaru never showed up but the man definitely knows or suspects something about Subaru and/or what's going on with him. I mean, benefit of the doubt, if he doesn't know about RBD, from the outside it does look like Subaru has some kind of prophetic abilities, as twice now he's known about future events that would have destroyed everything Roswaal's been working towards and used that knowledge to prevent them. Making things easier for Subaru to act just in case he had another "vision" would have been in Roswaal's best interest. He might be thinking Subaru is like the Holy Dragon, thus Roswaal has his own personal Dragon Tablet. But I can't help but feel things go deeper than that. At the very least I'm glad Subaru's outburst and Roswaal trying to smite him with fire was apparently part of the plan. 1, Roswaal is just a really fun character and I don't want to lose that, but 2, he definitely seems like a guy you don't want to have against you.

Have you guys ever heard about the Mexican band RBD? That’s a good way to start this conversation.

Back in 2004 (if I’m not mistaken) there was this Mexican telenovela called “Rebelde”. It was a remake of an Argetinian telenovela (“Rebelde Way”), and it told the story of a bunch of rich kids in a boarding school. Well, not all the kids were rich, but you get the idea.

From the telenovela came the band (RBD), which had six members, who also played characters in the telenovela.

I was 14 at the time and I was absolutely mad over it. It was great, cheesy and corny in the best possible way. I have many fond memories of the telenovela and great regret that I never got the chance to see RBD playing live.

Anyway, the band broke up around 2009, but many fans still love them (maybe it’s just us Brazilians, we have a hard time letting go of stuff…)

Recently their albums finally were made available on Spotify and it got me thinking and…Well, this is the result.

I’m not saying that this is what happened to the actors after the band/telenovela was over. It was just another crazy idea that popped into my mind and wouldn’t let go until I wrote it down.

So… Yeah.

Chapter 1

Arthur was passing by Catia’s room when he heard it.

“You’re such a hooligan.”

He knew the voice, he knew where that sentence came from. Before he even noticed what he was doing, he’d pushed Catia’s door open and caught her watching TV.

He saw himself on the screen, much younger -God, so much younger -talking to the pretty redhead.

“And you’re a brat. So what?”

“I didn’t know you liked this show.” He said, startling Catia.

“Arthur!” She paused the scene, and turned to him. “I’m sorry. Did you…”

“I didn’t know they had that on Netflix.” He spoke before she could finish her sentence.

“Oh.” She looked at the TV like it was guilty of something. “They put it on it last week.”

Arthur hummed his understanding.

He didn’t really mind seeing himself as Michael Rivers, the poor student at High Tower Academy. It’d actually been his first role in TV, many years ago. The show (which was cringely called ‘Rebel Way’) was about an exclusive boarding school, and he was the underdog who fell in love with a rich girl.

Oh yes… They also sang. They made it cool before High School Musical came along. The show wasn’t actually a musical, but his character and a few friends were part of a band in it and in ‘real life’.

The show lasted three seasons -their time at the Academy -and the band still lasted two years after that.

“I can turn it off if you want.” Catia offered quietly.

Arthur shook his head. “No. It’s okay, Catia. You can watch it; I just didn’t know you liked the show.”

“It’s fun in a silly way.” She confessed with a giggle.

Arthur chuckled. “I know. I’m not embarrassed by it or anything.”

He left Catia to her show, and tried not to think about his time spent on it.

His mobile rang; it was Bedivere, his agent.

“Olenna Tyrell called me.” Bedivere told him without preamble. “She wants to talk to you.”

Sansa sat there as the hairdresser fixed her hair for the shooting. George was an artist, and he was making amazing curls on her hair.

Brienne was sitting on the couch nearby, checking her phone as they prepared and Sansa was talking about a new restaurant with George.

His new assistant kept throwing nervous glances towards Sansa, and the woman wondered when she’d get the courage to ask what was on her mind.

“Oh Seven, Lindsay. Just ask her already.” George told the girl, rolling his eyes when her fidgeting got on his nerves.

“I’m sorry!” Lindsay blushed terribly. “I didn’t want to bother you, Miss Stark.”

Sansa gave the girl a gentle smile. “It’s fine, Lindsay. What did you want to ask me?”

Lindsay bit her lower lip, clearly worried about saying what she had on her mind. However, she seemed to find her courage.

“I… I’m a big fan of Rebel Way.” She finally said. “I know it’s been a long time and all… But your character, Mia, was my first fashion icon.”

Sansa chuckled. “I’m glad to hear that. I loved her clothes.”

Lindsay seemed excited by it. “I made a uniform by myself when I was eleven.”

“Which uniform?” Sansa asked. “I liked the one in the first season better.”

“Me too!”

“Sansa.” Brienne cut in gently. “It’s a call for you. You might want to take it.”

Sansa frowned, wary of Brienne’s tone, but took the phone her agent was offering her.

“Sansa speaking.”

“Hey, Stark.” Margaery’s sugary sweet voice called from the other side. “We need to talk.”

Margaery knew Sansa wouldn’t be happy with the idea, but she’d promised her grandmother she’d do this for her.

Olenna was the only person that could get Margaery to do absolutely anything. She’d hide a body for her grandmother.

It took some convincing, but Sansa eventually accepted coming to the meeting. A part of Marge had wanted to hide some things from Sansa -like who was going to be there -but she knew it was unfair. They’d been friends for a really long time, and Marge wouldn’t risk it just to make her task easier.

She was in a peculiar position: on one hand, she was really happy with her life now, on the other, she genuinely thought that her grandmother’s idea was a good one.

When Marge entered the cast of Rebel Way, she was supposed to be the star of the show. Her grandmother was producing the whole thing, so it was a given.

She hadn’t liked Sansa at first, because it was clear that she’d get a lot of attention too. Their characters -Mia and Rosalie -were rivals for a big part of the show -they only became friends at the end of the second season. 

Marge and Sansa managed to become friends much earlier. Probably because Marge started dating Sansa’s brother, and Robb wanted them to get along.

It was very difficult to say ‘no’ to Robb Stark.

With the years, people stopped recognizing Robb as Daniel Cross from Rebel Way. He’d been way younger then, and now he had a beard so most people didn’t recognize him.

Robb frowned. Sansa was supposed to be in Madrid for a photoshoot. Why would she be calling him in the middle of the day?

Robb’s phone was dead, and he’d forgotten to recharge it, but if Sansa had called Jon looking for him, it should be serious.

“Hey, princess.” Robb said softly as he picked the phone. Jon waved at him, before leaving the room so they could talk.

“Hello, Robb.” Her voice was warm. “Do you have a minute?”

“For you? Always. Is something wrong?”

There was a pause. “Not exactly.”

“This doesn’t sound promising. What happened?”

“Margaery called me.” She sighed. “Olenna wants to meet with us.”

“What does Her Majesty want with us?”

Sansa took another long pause. “It’s about the show. Margaery just wouldn’t say what exactly.”

Oh shit. Robb did the math quickly in his head. He was almost certain that the show was about to reach its 15th anniversary. If he was correct, this couldn’t be just a coincidence.

“I really hope this isn’t a revival.” Robb joked softly. Lord, no!

“I don’t think it’s about the show, to be honest. I think it’s about the band.”

Robb cursed under his breath. “If it’s about the band…”

“They’re all going to be there.” Sansa finished for him.

“That’s why I called you.” She confessed.

“Just be ready when you get the royal call.”

“You bring a lot of comfort to those kids. You make them realise it’s possible.”

Theon gave Tom a vague smile. “I’m glad to be of help.”

He waved and started leaving the room. Theon had mixed feelings when he heard things like this. On one hand, he was very proud of himself; it hadn’t been easy to get sober and remain sober. On the other hand… He didn’t feel like a good example, like he was someone any of those people should aspire to be like.

Yes, he’d been sober for almost seven years now, but it had been one hell of a messy journey.

When he reached the parking lot, he was shocked to see Robb there, leaning casually against his car.

You mourned the end of your relationship with Adam - if what you had with him could be called that -. You called your best friend so they could hold you as you cried and binge watched your favorite shows over and over again, you ate all the things you wanted as you regretted the moment you met him and you screamed into your pillow as the anger he left you with consumed your every cell.

Eventually, you moved on, he came to your mind sometimes, but all you had to do to get him out was remember all the hell he put you through and all the times he made you feel like nothing. 

You started to go out with your friends, not really looking for anyone to hook up with, because this time you knew you were enough and that you could be happy by yourself, which didn’t mean you weren’t open to whatever could happen. 

Sometimes you would go out and just talk, drink or dance - or all of the above - with your friends, and sometimes you found someone who captured your interest and you would go for it, enjoying all that they could and wanted to give you. Perhaps the two of you would just make out wherever you were, but if you both felt like it, the night might end up in a bed.

Things were really going great, ever since the night you said to Sackler everything was over and you were not available to be his toy anymore, you hadn’t heard from him and, to be honest, you weren’t really surprised.At first, you wished hard that he would regret and give you any sign that he was alive, however, with the passage of time you let go of the vain expectation and figured out that it was for the best anyway. 

After all, you knew that he would never change and even if by a miracle he did, there was no way to erase what he had done.

But now that he was in the same situation he had been when she lost her mind with him, it was impossible not to think about her, about all the times she had been there for him, like when he broke his leg, about all the times he fucked her and watched her cum and about all the times he forgot she existed since he was too distracted by his girlfriends, who never did as much for him. 

In that night as he looked for another cheap hotel, Adam finally realized just how bad he had fucked things up.

Your first reaction was to laugh - hard -, tears even gathering on the conners of your eyes from how shocked you were after his quick speech. When you finally stopped, words started to flow out of your mouth, all the feelings you had been holding on for too long showing on every letter:

Some important information about the Pfizer vaccine.I’m very encouraged to hear about the apparent 90% effectiveness of this vaccine, and I also think we need to have more information and transparency. Here are some things to think about:Pfizer struck a $1.95 billion deal with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense to provide Americans with 100 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, for free, with an option for 500 million additional doses. The agreement is part of Operation Warp Speed.

Pfizer/BioNTech have also inked a deal with the U.K. government for 30 million initial doses. The vaccine, currently known only as BNT162, developed in partnership with the German company BioNTech, requires two doses, which means the initial batch for the U.S. would cover 50 million people. The deal hinges on the vaccine clearing Phase 3 human trials.

The BNT162 vaccine is based on BioNTech’s proprietary mRNA technology. BioNTech is the market authorization holder for the mRNA technology worldwide, and will own all the trademarks for the vaccine.

Conflict of interest in the FDA?

Interestingly enough, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, who served as commissioner of the FDA from May 2017 to April 2019, just so happened to be elected to Pfizer’s board of directors at the end of June 2019. At the time, Ian Read, executive chairman of Pfizer’s board of directors stated:

“We are fortunate to have Dr. Gottlieb join Pfizer’s Board of Directors. Scott’s expertise in health care, public policy and the industry will be an asset to our company and enable our shareholders to continue to benefit from a Board representing a balance of experience, competencies and perspectives.”

mRNA Vaccines May Produce Serious Side Effects

As detailed in the preliminary study results, posted on the preprint server medRxiv July 20, 2020, BNT162b1 is a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulated nucleoside-modified mRNA that encodes the receptor binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.

mRNA vaccines have never before been licensed for use in humans. Inside your cells, mRNA activate DNA instructions, and act as a template to build a specific protein.

The theory behind mRNA vaccines is that when you inject the mRNA (encapsulated within lipid nanoparticles), the mRNA will stimulate your cells to manufacture their own viral proteins. In this case, those proteins would mimic the proteins found in SARS-CoV-2.Conventional vaccines train your body to recognize and respond to the proteins of a particular virus by injecting a small amount of the actual viral protein into your body, thereby triggering an immune response and the development of antibodies.

No previous vaccines have had your own cells produce the viral proteins responsible for producing immunity. mRNA vaccines are designed to make your body produce its own viral protein, which your immune system would then mount a response to. If you suspect a whole lot could go wrong here, you’d probably be right. As reported by The Vaccine Reaction:

“According to researchers at University of Pennsylvania and Duke University, mRNA vaccines have potential safety issues, including local and systemic inflammation and stimulation of auto-reactive antibodies and autoimmunity, as well as development of edema (swelling) and blood clots.”

Systemic inflammation, auto-reactive antibodies and autoimmune problems are no small matters. In fact, these are in large part why previous attempts to create a coronavirus vaccine have failed.

As explained by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., in many interviews, coronavirus vaccines are notorious for creating paradoxical immune enhancement. Even though the vaccines create a robust antibody response, the subjects end up sicker than normal when they’re exposed to the wild virus. In one ferret study, all the vaccinated animals died.

Time will tell just how hazardous the COVID-19 vaccines turn out to be. Since they work on the genetic level, there could be long-term, perhaps even generational, issues that won’t be readily apparent anytime soon, as these vaccines could be integrated into your DNA.

Be Wary of the PR and media Propaganda Spin

A July 21, 2020, Wired article urges researchers and media to be upfront and transparent about the vaccines’ side effects right now, “before it ends up as fodder for the skeptics”:

“Neither the mainstream media nor the medical press has given much attention to the two vaccines’ potential downsides — in particular, their risk of nasty adverse effects, even if they’re not life-threatening. This sort of puffery doesn’t only help to build a false impression; it may also dry the tinder for the future spread of vaccine fearmongering.”

Wired points out that some trials are not using an inert placebo but rather injected meningococcal vaccine, which might hide certain symptoms or harms. Another example: The University of Oxford added study arms in which subjects are given acetaminophen every six hours for the first 24 hours after inoculation.

Is the pain and fever reducer given to mask and downplay certain symptoms and side effects, such as pain, fever, headache or general malaise? It very well could be. Wired notes:“The press release for … results from the Oxford vaccine trials described an increased frequency of ‘minor side effects’ among participants. A look at the actual paper, though, reveals this to be a marketing spin …Yes, mild reactions were far more common than worse ones. But moderate or severe harms — defined as being bad enough to interfere with daily life or needing medical care — were common too.

Around one-third of people vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine without acetaminophen experienced moderate or severe chills, fatigue, headache, malaise, and/or feverishness.

Close to 10 percent had a fever of at least 100.4 degrees, and just over one-fourth developed moderate or severe muscle aches. That’s a lot, in a young and healthy group of people — and the acetaminophen didn’t help much for most of those problems.

Conclusions:

So yes, this is good news but the public has the right to be educated and informed about this vaccine so we can make sure it is truly safe. Hope? Yes! But I urge also reflective and informed caution and debate. Please feel free to share this post, we need an informed debate based on facts free from political, commercial or conflict of interests. We should go ahead and investigate the issues carefully before we are clear that the vaccine works well. I know it’s hard because we badly want to go back to life as before, however, we must not let fear, media spin, big Pharma and its vested and conflicted interests with politicians, affect a rational examination. The new Goth girl, Armanda is her name, she was in my AP Bio class last year I got interested in her when I heard her name because I thought she too was the child of a fan of vampire horror erotica. So my pickup lines based on shared life experience of being named after one half of a couple with so few brain cells they decided to take their vampire asses to live in Miami didn’t work out. I’m trying!!! I told Summer in 2020 I want our baby to be born, in 2020 I want to physically hold my baby in my arms. She said OK, we can start trying in the summer of 2019. Obviously, I can’t pick and choose if it’s a girl or not but there are a few tips and tricks online based on old wives tales for increasing your chances of having a boy or a girl and you best believe that I will be doing all of them that I can (and so will Summer) to ensure I have a daughter. 

And if it’s a boy that’s perfect because I’m going to love my baby no matter what. Plus, Summer and I agreed on four kids, what are the odds of them being all boys?....I really hope the odds aren’t high on that.

But still an angel!! Even if the only thing she did today was lounge around in her robe and eat pink Cheerios straight out of the box while watching Peppa Pig. She didn’t even want any milk to go along with it. It was straight Cheerios except for when I ordered boba and she snatched her rose milk boba and went straight back to her Peppa Pig. This is from The Serpent Kiss Book One of RBD, and it’s the beginning of a scene where Kiel and Shiroin has just left the palace in Kyoh and are talkiing, like talking for reals, for the first time since they’ve met.

When we finally crossed the Gailian border, Kiel and I rested by a warming fire. We were alone in the night. The less tropical forest shrouded us from unwanted discovery, and I was sitting down, for the first time in a long time.

A spitting flame ate at the damp logs. It hissed and I watched as the orange and red flames dance their devil dance. Reaching and reaching for a spring sky that was too far away for their tainted soul.

“I need answers from you.” Kiel said as he sat down next to me.

I was torn from my reflections of morality, and willingly so.

“That is rather blunt. And you cannot demand anything from me, Blade.” I said unkindly.

“We are not at court, and I think perhaps we have past some of the civility.” He paused. I could not deny that.

“Moreover, this is a blunt matter.” Kiel added.

His white bangs fell over his eyes.

“Then ask.” I dropped some of my hostility.

Kiel took another pause. I would think, to pick his words carefully.

“What I saw…” The black mask moved on his mouth when he spoke. “When you executed the Emperor, leads me to a question I cannot find the answer to alone. And so I ask, do you have the blood of my kin in you?” Kiel’s tone was level but what he was saying was insulting, and additionally impossible.

“There is no tainted blood in the royal line.”

“And your mother?”

“You are asking if I am a bastard. I am not. My mother was human and from a high standing family.” I snarled.

“Did she have blond hair?” Kiel was fishing.

I hesitated before replying.

“No.”

He was not entirely wrong to question the source of my pale appearance. Others had had the same question itching on their tongues. It was an odd thing that my hair should be light when everyone, full-blooded Kyohon, like my father and mother, had dark silky hair and dark irises. In that way the color of my eyes had never been strange, however, there was undoubtedly something strange about them. It was the way they didn’t quite capture the light no matter which direction I turned. No matter how much sun spilled in them.

They swallowed the glimmer instead of casting it back. ‘Pits into a black soul’, Miyoi had said once.

I flicked my gaze down.

Kiel was turning my answer over in his head, fitting it into a secret puzzle I could not see and was not invited to piece together. In that moment I wondered how much I could truly trust the Elsalvian and his hidden mind. I remorsefully realized I had already opened the portal of confidence by going alone on the road with him.

Furthermore, I did indeed entrusted him with some very intimate things already; the royal murder that could be my doom, for instance.

There’s this feeling, this feeling she can’t name, she can’t describe, she can’t ignore, this feeling she doesn’t want living in her chest since Simón broke up with her. This feeling she can’t toss aside, she can’t repress and keep for later, she can’t ignore the fact that with him her life was so much better, that with him she felt nice and warm like she had never felt before, she can’t ignore that she actually imagined what it would be having him in her life for a long while would be and that she loved it. He’s the first person she has ever fallen in love with, the first person she truly cared about besides her godmother and now he’s gone and he took all warm and light away from her life with him.

He made her go back to her broken, cold life and now that she finally felt the heat the cold is eating her away, leaking through her skin into her bones, into every cell of her being. And it hurts, it hurts so much because even if he keeps looking for her he seems fine, even if he keeps looking for her it’s always to say something she did wrong, always to say how betrayed he feels. But what about her? Doesn’t he understand she has been ripped off of everything by his little friend? Doesn’t he understand that all she ever wanted was to be the best, the first and Luna keeps taking that away from her. She took her boyfriend, she took her life, she took him. No matter what she took him, she’s sure he would hear her out, she’s sure he would give Luna the benefit of the doubt and she’s sure he wouldn’t act like this if it wasn’t for her.

Now more than ever she needs to destroy Luna, to drive her away, because she needs Simón back.

She feels like she’s walking blind with this scream choking on her throat as her hands itch to get to anything and break it apart,tore it, destroy it, anything will do, even herself. When he was around it wasn’t like this, one smile of his made that ever present dull pain on her heart go away in a second, when he held her hand she finally felt linked to earth, grounded to herself. And that kiss, that kiss made her feel this she doesn’t even want to think about,she’s not that kinda girl, she’s not one to gush about how his lips made her feel like she was floating or some shit. Not to mention that it will never happen again if his words are anything to go by. She doesn’t know how anyone can hurt her so much with just some looks and cold words, she doesn’t know how she gave him this power.

And she has no idea how despite everything she can’t help but stayed glued to the floor now that she sees him walking towards her. Her heart doesn’t skip a bit, nor does it beat faster and her whole body tenses up and cold sweat starts to run down her back. Because she is Ámbar Smith and no one affects her like this, especially not a boy who just months ago meant less than nothing to her, especially not someone that was a pawn on her plans.

Still the way he calls her name surprised sends shivers down her spine and the way she notices how his hand lifts up to reach her arm just for a second makes her crave for his touch.

“What are you doing here?” He asks and she would rather have him walk past her, like she was invisible than do this because she’s almost waiting for the moment she slips up and begs him to listen to her, to give her a chance, she’s almost waiting for his harsh answers and wounded eyes as if she was the one who refuses to give this thing between them a chance, as if she’s the one who’s doing things wrong. Maybe she is in his mind, maybe she’s the one who fucked this up beyond any fixing, but she tried to explain, he’s the one who wouldn’t listen.

She fixes her eyes in that point she imagines the sea meets the sky, impossible to recognize in the darkness that surrounds her, she schools her features in the perfect disinterested mask and only then she dares to talk.

“Walking, what else would I be doing?”

She asks harsh and even then not as harsh as it could be. She hates this, she wishes she could hate him.

“At midnight, all alone?” He asks, a mix of concerned and incredulous. She huffs annoyed.

“Now you care about me.” She can’t help but to spit out, the hot, burning words leaving her mouth before she can even think of them and the moments she hears them she starts beating herself about it. She can’t let this happen, she can’t be weak like this.

“I always did.” He says, the strain in his voice is obvious and the words send her heart running but she can’t really believe them.

She stays silent, not letting her eyes stray to him, only having him this close makes her feel like she’s about to crumble, looking at him would do nothing to help the feeling.

“Come on, let me walk you to your home.” He says and she bites her tongue to not say that she doesn’t have a home anymore.

“I don’t need you.” She mutters, she doesn’t need anyone, she never did. Why do these words sound like lies now that she’s saying them him.

“Yeah and I don’t want anything to do with you but I still won’t let you walk alone at this time of the night so we better get going.” She finally turns to him, glaring at him, feeling her chest tighten along with her fists. He was supposed to be the sweet one yet he keeps talking to her with words coated in poison. She turns around in the direction of the mansion and she hears the sand move behind her letting her know he’s right behind her. It means nothing when he doesn’t want it.

He doesn’t come too close, he doesn’t try to fill the silence, nor does she, no matter if her body is buzzing wanting to say something, to do something,she won’t be the first one to break.

“Why are you even doing this?” She ask, because her self control goes to shit when it comes to him.

“I don’t want anything to happen to you” He says and those damned butterflies on her stomach come back to live. “Just because I don’t want to know anything about you it doesn’t mean I want you to die.”

“Sweet words from the guy who claimed to be in love with me.” She says bitter and she hears how he misses one step, two, she turns around, his dark eyes almost impossible to see but she can still feel the rage boiling inside of him, she can see it on the way his jaw is set, his shoulders squared and she prepares herself for the blow.

“I wasn’t in love with you I was in love with the person I thought you were trying to be.” Simón says through clenched teeth before he starts walking leaving her behind this time.

It’s a hot Cancun night but she still hugs herself trying to keep herself together, maybe she can try to be that person he fell in love with, maybe she can become better, there’s only one person in her way, she only needs to get rid of Luna and then she can be all he wants of her.

First time read through light novel vol. 2. Random thoughts.

Well, Subaru buddy, I got good news and bad news for you.

Bit of an honest confession; if I hadn't seen Isekai Quartet first, I don't know how far into the anime I would have gotten. Don't get me wrong, the first arc is good and my general rule of any new series I'm starting is to get into is to watch at least the first three episodes, so it's not like I would have stopped before the arc finished playing out. But it didn't quite hook me. But thanks to IQ, I knew about some other characters I liked who were going to pop up and episode 4, where they first appear, I was in. I love the Roswaal mansion arc and it's in no small part to Rem, Ram, Roswaal, and, surprisingly enough, Beatrice. One thing I always enjoy is when there is a character or especially a series that I go into thinking I'm not going to like them and I end up absolutely loving them. My Hero Academia is usually my most immediate example of that but Beatrice is easily a close second. When I first saw her in IQ I thought I wasn't going to like her, thinking she was just some snippy little brat, and she ended up becoming one of my favorites. Her back and forths with Subaru incredibly endeared me to both their characters and I actively looked forward to every time he went into the book archives to talk with her.

I felt so bad for Subaru in the anime upon his first death in this arc and it's even worse here. It's why I disagree with criticisms I've seen that Return by Death removes tension and makes things overall easy for him. RBD is not a net-positive yield. He lost so much of what he gained on his first time through the manor; his connections, his relationships, and most importantly an honest impression of himself towards others. And while things worked out well in the end, especially with Rem, it's never going to be quite the same as it was. No idea if there's any overlap between fans of Re:Zero and fans of CW's The Flash but I'm immediately thinking of an explanation Jay Garrick gave about time travel, where space-time is a coffee mug and time travel breaks a part of it. No matter what you do to fix it, no matter how accurately you try to fit that piece back in, it's never going to be how it once was.

I think it's clever how well the story hides the true cause of Subaru's deaths (outside of the ones caused by the twins and himself) in plain sight. The dog bite is present continuously but it's played off like a joke at first, along with how rough the kids were treating him because he's a bit of a pushover, and then later just as a way for him to tell if he'd RBD'd if the bite marks were gone. It's like any good mystery. Once you know the answer you can go back and see all the hints that'd been pointing to it the entire time.

The sight of the bare-naked nobleman before him, hands on his hips, made Subaru deeply regret that he required air.

They were close enough to touch as he stood in the nude, his crown jewels swaying between his legs as he looked down at Subaru.

You know, last volume after reading Subaru's own character description calling him ignorant and kind of dumping on him, I was going to make a joke that Ram wrote it. Now with this part basically describing Roswaal's p***s I'm starting to take that joke a little too seriously.

There is something hilarious to me that in the anime I'm pretty sure it was Puck and Emilia who taught Subaru about magic and his own element, Dark, but in the books it was Roswaal...in the bath...in the nude. I'm not saying one version is better or worse than the other but I certainly see why they changed it.

That said, I think the hardest I laughed in the anime up to that point was Subaru biting Roswaal's hand. I don't know if it was the overall weirdness of the scene in the bath, how sudden yet casually he did it and Roswaal playing it off, or even just the sound of the bite, but something just hit me in the right spot during that.

So just to clear up a little confusion, on the second time Subaru died, why did Rem kill him? He seemed to be under the effects of the curse which was already killing him, but then he was killed hearing the sound of chains, which was assumedly her iron ball. So did she do it to put him out of his misery or did she think he was up to something?

Be it with the fruit stand guy or Beatrice, Subaru just muttering and monologuing to himself over everything he's learned post-death in front of someone who just wants him to go away is a pretty funny image.

It's been a long time since I watched the anime, so I didn't remember if it had "The Crying Red Demon" fairy tale in it and had to look it up to see that it was. Either way, I love this section between Subaru and Ram. I'm a sucker for mythology and lore and all that crap anyway, so how the Red and Blue Demons relate to Ram and Rem, as well as new insight into the burdens on Emilia with a freaking dragon she'll have to deal with if she becomes queen (king? given they never talked about a queen last volume), I'm just eating that stuff up. While I knew Ram cared about Rem, I definitely feel it here, probably because I already know their backstory going back through these parts in the story. Ram doesn't exactly like how much her sister is sacrificing herself for her either.

While I really like Goblin Slayer, especially its light novels, one thing I tend to mention is that I can't watch it's first episode ever again without skipping around quite a bit, as poor Fighter's screams were what got me to stay away from the rest of the series for months after. I was genuinely shaking after. Sound is definitely a thing with me when it comes to series I watch and for Re:Zero I remember one of the most impactful scenes was with Ram, not only crying but screaming in sadness and despair over Rem's body on the bed. Subaru running away as she screams "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!" in that voices that's raging but in so much pain. It's such a great scene, there and here in the books. Thankfully, unlike Goblin Slayer, it did not turn me away from the series but rather made it so that I HAD to keep going. It's kind of ironic that a series where every death can potentially be reversed has every death that happens hit so hard.

I imagine I'll definitely have more to say about Rem next volume.
