Choć termin brzmi bardzo specjalistycznie, to dotyczy prostego pojęcia operatorów logicznych, które pozwalają na precyzyjne wydanie komendy wyszukiwarce internetowej i uszczegółowienie naszych potrzeb. To z kolei, pozwala na uzyskanie bardziej adekwatnych wyników. Dzięki umiejętności zastosowania operatorów Boolean możemy przestać oglądać się na ograniczenia LinkedIn i wyszukiwać kandydatów na platformie lub spoza niej. Warto pamiętać, że wyszukiwarki uczą się naszych zapytań i poleceń. Po wpisaniu hasła “Włochy” w Google dla różnych użytkowników wynik będzie inny. Ktoś, kto często używa wyszukiwarek tanich lotów otrzyma w wynikach oferty last minute, inna osoba przepis na pizzę, a kolejna dane historyczne. Umiejętność wpisania odpowiednich komend jest zatem wyjątkowo ważna, by nie zamknąć się w bańce własnych przyzwyczajeń. Istnieją więc dwa zbiory: zbiór stron zawierających słowo „business developer” (tu, zbiór B) i zbiór wszystkich stron zawierających słowo „niemiecki” (tu, zbiór B). Nas interesuje jedynie zbiór zawierający oba te słowa: Operatora AND możemy użyć przeszukując dowolnie wybraną bazę kandydatów, czy bazę danych. Zatem poprawna komenda wyszukania na LinkedIn to:  “business developer” AND “niemiecki”. Operator logiczny OR „programista Java” OR „Java developer” – rozszerzenie listy wyników. Operator OR będzie miał działanie poszerzające nasze wyniki. W związku z tym, że za język LinkedIn przyjęty jest język angielski, to będzie to jedno z zastosowań OR. Szukając konsultanta, zdecydowanie dobrym krokiem będzie uzupełnienie wyszukiwania o słowo “consultant”, programista – developer, księgowy – księgowa – accountant itd. Załóżmy zatem, że osoby na stanowisko Java Developer. Do takiego zapytania posłużymy się operatorem OR. Wyniki wyszukiwania uwzględnią wszystkie strony zawierające przynajmniej jedno z użytych słów kluczy. Zatem nasze komendy to: “programista Java” OR “Java developer”księgowy OR księgowa OR accountantPolecenie może być też kombinowane z operatorem AND w matematyczny sposób uprzywilejowując nawiasy:(“programista” OR “developer”) AND Java Ten sam operator może zostać użyty nie tylko na LinkedIn, ale również w Google. Jak już zostało wspomniane Google sam podaje wyniki w oparciu nie tylko o samo słowo klucz, ale również jego różne lub inne słowa z tej samej rodziny. Szukając więc zwrotu “project manager” uzyskamy również wyniki pod kątem takich tytułów stanowisk jak “operations manager”, “project coordinator”, “business manager” i inne. Operator logiczny NOT „C++ developer” NOT senior – zawężanie wyników wyszukiwania. Bywa, że wyszukując informacji łatwiej nam wyeliminować poszczególne słowa klucze z wyszukiwania, służy to zawężeniu wyników. Operator NOT użyty w przykładzie wyszukiwania developera pozwoli nam uszczuplić wyniki o osoby które zajmowały takie stanowisko w przeszłości, jednak dziś zarządzają zespołem. Dzięki NOT możemy usunąć takie rezultaty wyszukiwania, które są nam zbędne. Zatem: developer NOT senior lub też developer NOT manager Wyszukując w Google zamiast NOT użyjemy minusa, a więc poprawna kwerenda wyglądać będzie tak: Zatem: developer -senior lub też developer -manager Boolean search Połączmy wszystkie operatory w całość, którą możemy dowolnie manipulować i zmieniać: (“programista” OR “developer”) AND Java -senior Sprytnie ułożone polecenie Boolean pozwoli nam na dokładniejsze określenie wyników na LinkedIn, ale możemy przeszukać LinkedIn poza nim! POZWÓL MI DOTRZEĆ DO WIĘKSZEJ LICZBY CZYTELNIKÓW.    BĘDĘ WDZIĘCZNA JEŚLI PODZIELISZ SIĘ TYM ARTYKUŁEM  NA LINKEDIN I NA FACEBOOKU. Alfresco DevCon 2018 Summary

While we are waiting for presentations and videos from Alfresco DevCon, let us share what we remembered from this conference.

Alfresco succeeded to gather more than 270 people on the revived DevCon. As compared with BeeCon 2017 there is one change that we like: Alfresco really brought the most of their engineers to the conference! They didn't say "Developers have deadlines and sprints, they could not come". Alfresco organized a conference, Alfresco made everything to make it successful. We thank them for it. It was cool.

Thomas DeMeo told us what to expect from Alfresco in the nearest future. Alfresco 6.0.a (Early Access) has been available since November 2017, but it doesn't look as new major release. Looks like real 6.0 with significant architectural changes (that will break compatibility with all previously written code) will be released during Spring. Waiting for it with horror. Fixes for everything that will be broken should be available during Autumn 2018.

What to expect from Alfresco in the future? Finally Alfresco should get new microservices architecture. Identity service should become an independent component and cover both Alfresco Content Services (aka Alfresco Community/One) and Alfresco Process Service (aka Activiti). A new recommended way to build extensions will be to use REST API and to subscribe to Events. Welcome to the JIRA style of configuration. :)

From one point of view it's nice to see that Alfresco modifies its basics and architecture that were built in 200x and tries to follow modern trends. From other point of view we will miss that ways to extend the core of the repository and break everything using Java API. Alfresco is better than others especially because it allows to do this (for the time being).

The talk we really liked was about analytics. Michael Suzuki showed us a way to build analytics from the data stored in Alfresco. After many attempts to create ready-to-use solution for analytics, Alfresco introduced how to retrieve needed reports from SOLR via SQL requests and how to illustrate them with Apache Zeppelin. It was nice.

What about us?

This time only @aviriel represented ITD Systems at the conference. All developers had to work on their projects hard during January. Oksana presented a talk "Overcoming common knowledge: 100k nodes in a single folder" (presentation) and received the award "The best voted talk of the conference"! Looks like many Alfresco users meet this problem and search for a solution. Here are some screenshots if you missed the talk:
