Evaluation from the heuristic test
Final score: 39/40 =97.5% (38 Green, 2 Orange)
Orange Marks
If pop-up windows are used to display error messages, do they allow the user to see the field in error?
No – there isn’t room for this in the app as most of it is free-form typing. However this can be useful for the log in and sign in screens. Quite possibly when entering times for reminders and events too?
To signal an input error in a form, mark the textbox that needs to be changed
Not designed, but this could be useful for the sign up and log in forms. Quite possibly when entering times for reminders and events too?
Summary:
A lot of what I could improve mention pointing out errors - which I haven’t designed for. The most immediate thing I can think of to implement this is for the form (signing up and logging in). However, this did make me think of use/misuse cases which I havent really had time to look at.
Heuristic tests don’t really put in consideration the user group and the context, so it gets a bit challenging when trying to think of how usable this app is with its users.
Things to work on:
Refining final designs
And if I have time to add on to my agenda:
Misuse cases for each task (invalid entries, undesirable moods, too many reminders)
Experienced users and how they would use each task (lots of entries, moods, etc)

MS2 - Final Paper
Final Pape Draft: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Fr4CY_fY2HV0NwUnZ5OFVONFE
This week luckily I discovered Bodymovin add-on for Aftereffects. It basically transforms AE animations into JSON files to be able to use in web projects. So, instead of paper.js, I decided to use after effects animations to use in my projects.
Icons
I created new icons for the demo and narrowed down the whole experience.

After the feedbacks that I have received in class I also create one more animations to give
Branding
While doing this I also decided to create a visual language for the project as a whole.

Testing and prototyping #7
Define the goals:
Hypothesis:
I should have a heuristic score of over 80% due to all the iterations I have gone through.
Concerns
The heuristic test obviously won’t emulate user behaviour and actions.
Areas Of Interest
The system as a whole and how it tests through an expert’s eye
Purpose
Testing the whole app as a whole with the main flows.
Compare this to the first iteration, and hopefully there is an improvement
Format and setting
I will do this myself, as the expert of the application with a set list of heuristics.
Tasks
There are tasks which hit the main flows of the application
Gestures are limited to a tap due to the low-fidelity prototype
Includes sign up all the way up through each section of the apps
Collecting metrics
To run the heuristic test, there is a set list revised by Gomez.
I think that it needs to have a score over 80% to pass the heuristic test, especially after all the iterations.

Prototype #7
Here is the flow and the screens for the 7th iteration that I will put through the heuristic test. I didn’t do animations due to a lack of time, but I feel like I understand the animations enough to not do it for a heuristic test.

Design changes
These changes are based on the user testing that I have done. Almost all of it is about the visual feedback for users to get validation and more understanding on things.

Flows, tasks + Personas
I tried to bring on the personas again, to try to see if the app takes care of the pain points and the concerns of users.
The flow encapsulates different tasks for the users, and the tasks that I will bring on e my final prototype. As this app progressed and developed, I noticed that this app caters more towards the creative and busy/planner personas. I think that this was my mistake, as one of the personas was not a physical planner user in the first place. But all in all, I think this app tackles the pain points and concerns.
